HAPPY FRIDAY GIRLS !

Can't believe this month is 2/3rds over already and I am finally finding some time to pop in. Not many workouts the past few weeks. Busy and tired . . .

Took today off to plant my garden and hope I can get lots done. Did a little last weekend but have lots to do still. My yard has definitely been on the back burner along with my exercising !

Off to the workout room in just a few minutes and am hoping I can do a double today since tomorrow I'll be gone all day. At least it is to the local roller coaster amusement park so will get my 10,000 steps in for sure !

Hope all of you are doing well ! It is my plan to catch up with posts later today or on Sunday.

Morning Ladies ..

I am STILL sore from my run!! the GGT is JUST what I needed .. just the close nit group - and I got to vent - and CABS flowed .. I had something called SWAMP PUNCH and it made my toes tingle .. but it helped my feelings :D I am ready to put this week behind me!! GEESH - four days of pur H#LL - hoping to get thru today unscaved!!! I am going to TRY to do JNL first workout at lunch - yes I know I will prbly be a sweat ball .. but I am going to attempt it .. today is casual day .. I am in jeans and casual shirt .. and I brought hair clip .. so I am prepared to look less than perfect .. LOL!!!

Tmrw - is a HUGE celebration at Auburn University - it is their A-Game - and they are having the "Last Rolling of the Oaks" (tradition thing) the Oaks that were poisoned by the fanatic Alabama fan @$$hole 2 years ago - well they are dead and having to be removed .. been there since 1930 and they are going to be taken down next week - so it is a goodbye to a VERY OLD DEAR tradition . so me and VBF and another friend are going .. it is going to be a mob scene tho - after the bombings . I am a bit skiddish of going .. w/that huge of a crowd .. but I dont want to miss it eitehr! :confused: SAD STATE OUR COUNTRY IS IN b/c of our sorry @$$ prez and those terrorist B@st@rds!!! (sorry if that offends anyone - just my opinion)

Wendy - WOW - you have been putting together some nice training sessions .. I AM IMPRESSED - I think you are going to ROCK as a trainer - you need to get you a log book - or a computer program and make sure to record them - b/c trust me .. you will do one that is awesome then later want to remember it .. and you will forget something and it wont be the same .. or you can log it.. and make adjustments to it to improve it as you see fit!!

DI - sorry about the knee - so what are you doing about your tri training ?? or have decided not to do them???

Lori - saw the pics of the kiddos playinig on the trampoline .. how fun!!!!

Ok .. better run .. we are about to get pounded w/bad weather .. ok .. have a great one!!

Laura:: Yes JNL is definitely sweat inducing. It's fast moving and she includes some pretty intense cardio moves! :) I hope you enjoy it if you get to do it today! Can't wait to hear your thoughts! :) I am saving my work out creations and will put them in a folder or a binder or something at some point. :)

Diana:: I gave up on tracking calorie burn from exercise along time ago. It just made me crazy! :eek: I give you credit for having the patience to deal with it! I can't even get myself to log back onto to WW at this point!:rolleyes: Great job with your work outs! I hope the taping of the knee helps it to feel better!

OK .. Wendy ... I am SMILING :D:D:D:D my hair is wet and up in a clip .. but I am smiling :D:D:D:D I did Shoulder Shredder .. and it did shred my shoudlers and tris!!!

This is JUST what I have been looking for my upper body .. since doing Combat - and laying off the heavier weights (except once a week) .. my arms are smaller and I LIKE it .. but they need more definition .. I think this lighter wieght higher rep TRI set training in JNL is gonna be just what my upper body needs!!! I dont like the "woohooing" .. but it is the back ground and she does quiet them down at times .. she is clear and precise in her instructing .. form is excellent .. the moves are controlled not bouncy .. i like the 30 seconds wieghts - 30 seconds cardio - I really liked it!!

and the TIME .. 30 - 40 minutes ... YUP .. JUST WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!! this is of course in addition to my endurance training .. and of course COMBAT and CAthe and Bob .. and running :confused: :) :D :p
 
Hi Ladies,

Yesterday I did CLB, love that w/o!! Today is swimming lessons...:D, and hopefully GS C&T, and abs.

The temps are supposed to get into the 50's so well have a lot of snow melt happening...meaning a run or ride should be done at some point too. Probably a run since the all the sand makes it unsafe for biking.

Jerod and I will be heading shopping today or tomorrow, the kid needs new clothes. He's already grown 2" in the last year. He pretty much needs new workout clothes and a few new shirts. DH took him to his Speed Camp and said they worked him hard. Apparently they have a Football Specific camp and would like to move him to that class. Of course it's more expensive at $400/month. DH said he would probably only need to go 3 mos or so. I guess if this training helps him get a scholarship then it's worth it, but there's no guarantees of that.

Laura-Swamp Punch must've been just what you needed. Enjoy the festivities today! I understand being apprehensive, but you can't stop living your life. Fortunately they caught the guy yesterday. So your a JNL junkie now too???:p I need to get on the selling bandwagon before I buy anymore fitness stuff. I'm keeping with my tri-training and still intend to do the 2 triathlons this summer. The HM is off the table for now but on in the fall is a possibility.

Wendy-I think your classes will rock, they sound very similar to the classes I take only our w/r times are longer. Our trainer sets up stations, we divide into group of 2-4 and run through the circuits. I use my HR monitor to make sure I'm working my hardest. Did I burn as many calories doing a particular w/o to the last time I did it kind of thing. I also like to know which w/o's are higher calorie burns for me. With the understanding that circuits/HIIT may burn less calories while doing them but have the higher afterburn effect than a steady state cardio with a higher calorie burn during the w/o. I think I need to go back to WW in person, that's what really worked for me...going to the meetings. I'm not in the right mind set to take that on right now.

Jacque-so nice of you to pop back in! What a fun way to get in your 10,000 steps!! Enjoy those coasters!

Lori-so the boys on the trapoline....what fun!!! I can't believe how much Stephen is growing. Do you plan on buying a house in Cold Lake? What is the soonest you DH could be transferred somewhere else?

Hello Ladies. :)

This morning's work out was a pretty short one. I had to fit it in between the pt studio and my nail appointment and that didn't leave me much time.

Here's what's I did after my warm up::

6 @ 15 s rest/45 s work per pair of exercises so I did each pair 3 times before moving on...

-Slow rear DB lunge R & Slow rear DB lunge L
-Stability Ball tricep push up with squeezed glutes & Stiff leg deadlift to biceps curl to shoulder press, release down to squat to biceps curl to shoulder press, release down to stiff leg deadlift...and so on...
-Chair pose back rows with tubing & lateral raise with tubing

4 @ 15 s rest/ 45 s work for the pair of exercises so I did each exercise 2x...

-Plank to Push Up & Bicycle Crunches

18 @ 10 s rest/ 20 s work for 3 exercises in a row so I did each exercise 6x...

-Burpees & Two arm kbell swing & Lateral Skaters

Good Morning:)

It's a been a busy week! Can't believe I haven't been here. And really there wasn't anything more busy about it then any other week.

I don't even know what my workouts were this week. But I did do one of DH's depo workouts and it was fun. Of course, 20 mins in he was sitting for a breather and I kept going....not shocking. He thinks he can jump in where he left off and he hasn't worked out in months. The workout was a 5 mins warmup, 1 min run as fast as you can, then one resistance exercise while the other person is on the TM. It was tough after a while no doubt and near the end of the 1 min run or the resistance exercise, it was tough. I was sweating buckets.

We went on a RT yesterday to the closet city. We weren't gone long b/c we had a function last night....that I didn't care to go to. Every time we go somewhere its s big rush. I wanted to get a new pair of sneakers but it was buy one,get one 1/2 off and I couldn't find another pair for 1/2 and the pair I picked were $159. Plus the service wasn't good.

The house inspection came back good, I didn't think anything would be wrong but I always like to prepare myself. So everything is in place. They will own the house the 15th of may...and wee will be homeless:eek:

Diana** did the snow stop?? I need to come up with some kind of rotation. I just don't know what. I'm thinking more like Laura, higher reps, lighter weight and see how that plays out. But I do like lifting heavy. Have you started your tri training?

Laura** you poor girl, sounds like you've had a rough week! Geez! Time for that week to be put behind you! It seemed like every week for me was a bad one for a while but things seem to be falling into place lately. Hopefully this week will be better!! The trampoline is now covered in snow!

Wendy** you must be getting excited! So what are you gonna do with your cert? I have people asking me all the time about training them but I just don't have the time. My babysitter is going to get her instructors course and she wants to borrow some of my lulu for her course:eek: and I'm thinking "really?? You don't have enough of your own"? I don't know...I get the same competitive feeling from her that I did from one of my old friends home. So I stay away.....I don't want to go down that road again. She keeps asking about my training and how much I charge people. And she feels the need to tell me about her workouts! Oh and now she is a beach body coach and she thinks she will be able to do it full time,make a living at it and quit sitting. I have switch sitters though so I don't see her often now.

Jacque** did you get those flowers planted?

I was hoping to go for a run before my parents go to church but its cold out! And I have training at 1:30......so we will see how the day goes.

This morning's work out was as follows...after a warm up of course...

I repeated each pair of exercises three times before moving on to the next pair. The work out was core and lower body focused but the first set of exercises was great for burning the shoulders!

*Standing Med Ball Core Rotation with straight arms - 15 to the right and 15 to the left.
*Slow Mountain Climbers with feet on gliding discs - 30 alternating reps

*A 30s Stability Ball Bridge
*Slow DB Lunges - 8 on right and 8 on left.

*Perfect Push Up Saw - 8 reps
*Bicycle Crunches - 30 reps

*Stiff Legged Deadlifts - 8 reps
*Sliding Lateral (side) Lunges - 8 reps on right side and 8 reps on left side

I intended to do a cardio conditioning segment including Burpees but I ran out of time. :(

Lori:: Definitely sounds like you've been a busy lady! I will be working at the PT Studio and at the Gym I've been interning at to start with. Not sure how it will work out doing both part time with a full time job. I'll see how it goes...

Di:: Sounds like Jerod is doing well in his speed class. Yep a scholarship for college for him would be awesome! Fingers crossed that he'll earn one! :D I've never participated in a live WW meeting. I have no desire to though I know it's helpful for a lot of people.

Laura:: Glad you love JNL!:D Where do you do your dvd work outs when you do them on your lunch break from work?? Just curious...

Hi Ladies,

It's been a busy day for this girl. After sleeping in a tad and enjoying my coffee, I finally got downstairs and did Imax 3 and CoreMax 3. I love that w/o cuz the time just flies by. No knee pain...YAYYYY. I've completed all my PT sessions but am continuing to keep up with the stretching exercises he gave me including the foam roller. Then it was off to Kohl's to buy some clothes for DS1, and picked up a few things for myself too. A new dress and some tops!

Yesterday's shopping event was for DS1, and I bought 2 pairs of Lucky Jeans....$100 a pop.:mad::mad: I had checked them out online and they were $69.99 at Macy's 1 day sale. Still more than I like to spend, but doable. I also picked up a pr of Lucky's from Costco on Friday. I'm definitely taking back the 2 $100 pairs, but may order them online in the future.

I should probably try to mow the lawn...but am just not feeling it. We have more snow coming Monday & Tuesday and then it should warmup again. MIL and I leave early Friday morning for Amanda's wedding. I do not have any workouts planned F-S. We fly home late Sunday night, and I took Monday off just because.

Wendy-you are creating some nice w/o's! Wow, you will be busy with 3 jobs, are you up for that? I've done 2 jobs when necessary, but never 3. I would probably be a total bi***. Like previously mentioned, it was out of necessity though. Perhaps if I was doing what I wanted it probably would've been fine. You will find your PT rhythm soon and everything will fall into place.

Lori-So what happened with the sitter next door that you had to find another one? She sounds a little needy IMO. The last snow is gone, but we will be getting up to 7 more inches starting tomorrow afternoon through Wednesday. We desperately need the moisture.

Laura-I saw your pics on FB, looks like a fun time!

Finally taking a rest day today. It was originally supposed to be Thursday....then y'day...oops! LOL

Going to the pt studio for 6pm to watch a couple training sessions and then the group session that I will help out with starts at 7pm. Wish me luck! :eek:

Di:: Nice work out and I am so happy that it was done w/o knee pain!!!! Yup, Luckys are pricey. I refuse pay full price for them!:mad: Oooh hope you have fun at Amanda's wedding! I love weddings! :) Obviously I can't work a lot of hours at either place but I want to try them both out. Different atmospheres, different ways of doing things, etc. It'll be a good way for me to determine what I like/dislike about each environment and where I might prefer to work long-term...and possibly full time if I am good enough! :)

Just popping in while enjoy my morning coffee. I'm going to go back to Burn Sets for this weeks UB, but am staying with the GS muscle group formats. Today will be Burn Sets-Back/Shoulders/Biceps. Planned for the rest of the week is Tabata/tri training, L&G, Burn Sets C&T, Afterburn or Supercuts.

Wendy-you will be a great trainer. :D Remember, all the other trainers were newbies at one time too. Good Luck tonight!

Nice plan for this week, Di!...Yes, you are right-all trainers were newbies at some point! the guy I am working with at the gym talks about his "early training days" and how he had trouble closing sales, etc. It's helpful just to hear that he wasn't "born" a great salesperson/trainer. Everyone loves him now. He is extremely successful. I hope I can evenutally do the same! Same for the PT Studio guy. He started out at a gym (he used to train where I babysat!) and became so good at it and so fed up with the gym's b.s. that he left to open his own business. Fast Forward like 10 years later and he has a great training business that's going strong!
 
This morning's work out::

Squat/back row w/ tubing + Lunge w/ side to side row w/ med ball (4 sets of 12-16 reps alternating exercises)
Standing tube chop on right then on left+ Lat pull downs with band (4 sets of 12-16 reps alternating exercises)
Rear delts flys with db's + meat slicers (4 sets of 12-16 reps alternating exercises)

Rear sliding lunges on right then on left.
Chest press on SB.
Firewalkers
Chest fly on SB
Deadlifts.
(Done as circuit all in a row x 2 rounds...12-16 reps for each exercise except 24 reps on the firewalkers)

40 BURPEES

DONE!:eek::D

Good Morning:)

It's quiet here:)...I mean in my house! Everyone is still a sleep but not for long.

Sundays workouts was STS FB and a 10.5 k run. Yesterday I did 11k and core 2. Started with core 1 but it started to skip. It's def the DVD player cause that's the 3rd DVD I've out in there now and it's skipped:mad:. I'm not sure what I will do this evening. Most likely be another run and weights.

Diana** the sitter next door is good,I was referring to my old sitter. She reminds DH of one of my "friends" home. She's high maintenance and I thought about it yesterday, the fact that she asked to borrow my lulu, is totally something my "friend" at home would have done. She told me to let her know when she could come over and I'm thinking .....24 hours before you leave! I'm not loaning someone my lulu for 3 weeks. She's not going till the 4th, and she will probably be home a week before I get it back. I'm not going to bring it up again and see if she text me again...which she will no doubt. I remember the hype about those lucky jeans. I never did get a pair maybe I should.

Wendy** I'm sure you can squeeze a little training in but people are work...lol...they want to be catered to. But you have weekends and evening so even if you wanted to train a couple, you could. I don't even tell people anymore. One girl was going on and on at work about how she has gained 4 lbs since buying her wedding dress and she can't get back into working out. I kept my mouth shut. Why put myself out there if I don't have the time?

I will try to come back tonight!

Hi Ladies,

This morning I did Burn Sets Chest/Triceps, 3 min on my ab machine and Tabatacise...all 5 tabatas! Talk about a sweatfest, tabatacise is not joke. Tonight I have tri-training which I'm guessing will be inside again due to the stinkin' snow. Treadmill running and swimming!

Definitely need to get back to some traditional heavy leg training. Although I've been doing tons of plyo work, my legs are losing any definition they may have had. Hamstrings, glutes and quads need some work that I think only heavy lifting can do for me. Not sure how to fit it in with the tri training though. I'll figure something out for May.

I'm working from home today due to the crappy weather. I'm getting a lot done though....laundry...making a meatloaf for dinner...filing etc. Trying to get caught up on everything before I leave on Friday morning.:D

Lori-I saw the RCMP were in on the Toronto terrorist plot. STS FB is a goodie for sure! You've been getting in some good runs too. If it would stop snowing I might be able to get back to some short runs....perhaps even up to 6 miles..that's my goal right now. Btw...I don't think you should lend out your lulu, not sure I would. You are just too kind. :)

Wendy-how are you liking creating your own workouts? My trainer comes in with a piece that she's written down her w/o for that day on....hence why we never do the same thing twice.

Laura-Did you try another JNL w/o...what did you think? So Jerod is getting his butt kicked in the speed clinic. It is a small group 1-3 people....so he gets worked hard and comes home a sweaty smelly mess!

Hi Ladies.:)

So I assisted with the group training session at the studio again last night. I am making the VEEERY slooow :rolleyes: progression towards running sessions on my own after I am officially certified (which should be soon since I faxed the p/w over a week or so ago!). That is the goal for right now! :) The best part? No selling is involved! Woot! ;)

As for the gym I've been interning at-as soon as I am certified I can set up my availability and start "working" which, in the beginning will be showing my face, assisting members and taking "free sessions" in hopes of making a PT sale. I don't make a dime at the gym if I don't SELL so I hope I can do it otherwise it's going to be a big fat waste of my time! :(

On a less nerve-racking note (lol)...The scale has finally started to fall back in the correct direction again. YAY!:D I'm not quite where I want to be YET but I'm a heck of a lot closer then I was a week ago! :eek:

Lori:: Nice work outs! I will do what I can do as far as PT'ing part time right now. The pt studio group sessions that I talked about are run on pre-determined days and times so that's easy enough and as far as regular PT'ing goes, I will decide my availability and if someone wants to train w/me, they will have to do it when I am available. Period. What else can I do? Nothing, until and IF the day comes that I don't have to work in an office anymore! ;) The crappy part is that I actually LIKE my office job now so unless I have a change of heart in the future I am going to have a tough time resigning from it if that time ever comes that I can!!! Go figure! Murphy's law! :(:rolleyes:

Diana:: I know how you loved your heavy leg training days! Enjoy having them back! :) Did you say you were making meatloaf for dinner!? OMG-I LOVE MEATLOAF! So does my DS! YUM! I am enjoying creating and doing my own work outs. It can be frustrating at times but it's a learning process and it will get easier. Just gotta keep pluggin' away! ;) I am hoping it helps me when it comes time to creating a program for my very first, very own client! :D I loved your description of your sweaty smelly messy DS after his speed clinic. Made me chuckle and reminded me of myself after a work out!:p

Hi Girls,

Quick pop in before bed time. Tonights workouts was Cardio leg blast, burn sets chest and shoulders and I did my own 100 rep challenge. I did 100 push ups and 100 over head presses.

Diana** Im on the fence about loaning out my cloths but I already said yes. I am going to wait for her to bring it up again and see what happens. If she doesn't bring it up, then I will act as if I forgot as well. You know...its almost as bad as wearing someones underwear...sweating in someones cloths...eck. I dunno....She ordered something today....hopefully it was her own outfit.

Wendy** I am enjoying my job too. Actually probably more the people then the job itself. Thursday afternoon we are going bowling...LOL and then on Fri I have a seminar. Also known as sleepy time for me! I will be so bored!!! Hopefully its over early and we can call it a day at 3! Ha!

Good Morning Ladies,

Yay, the scale is down a tad this morning.:D Ditching the junk is what's doing it for me. Trying to get into the mindset of eating for nutrition is really hard, but for me I know it's all diet. I try not to get too excited since the scale fluctuates so much.

Last night we ran 35-40 minutes and then swam. After my warmup on the treadmill I ran for 10 min/walk for 2 min and repeated this sequence until the cool down. My legs are so sore this morning. I may be able to run outside on Thursday at lunch if it's not too muddy from the snow melt. We will be riding and swimming in Thursday nights class.

Lori-Glad you are enjoying your job and your co-workers! That makes everything so much better. I don't know how you find the time for your long w/o sessions. I only have about an hour on weekday mornings, but do enjoy the longer w/o's on the weekends.

Wendy-selling doesn't sound like much fun. Have you thought about using some of the BR or Daily HIIT to help you come up with some ideas? Our trainers all are City employees and I don't think they sell either. They all are group teachers too. If we want private PT sessions, we just sign up with the front desk and let them know which trainer we want. Of course I don't know how they are pd...if its for so many classes per week, so many private sessions etc.

Laura-what are you up to?

Hey - sorry I have been MIA

After my FUN FUN time SAT .. SUN I got a kidney stone attack :mad: :(:( I guess too much stress from the work week from H#LL ... :( :mad::mad: I was out ystdy and MON .. ugh .. back today .. beat up .. back hurting .. but better!!!

Lori - there is NO WAY I would lend out my workout clothes - eeewwww - first of all -- eeeeewwwwww!!! :confused: :p ....congrats on the house .. sounds like things are a done deal!!

Wendy - you are banging out some great workouts .. I am assuming they are your creations .. and you are doing AWESOME! re: JNL .. only have done the shoulder shredder and LB fusion one .. it was great . . I LOVE the high rep light weight .. and the short cardio .. it is perfect addition to what I have been wanting .. NOW I just gotta get over migraines and kidney stones and DO THEM!!!!

Di - LOL about Jerod .. sounds like this speed training may take some of his weight off!! small class - lots of attention - he is getting your money's worth!!! ;)

I created another work out last night and then conveniently forgot to set my alarm so it didn't get done this morning. :rolleyes::mad:

On a bright note though, I hopped on the scale again this morning and it continues to drop! YAY me! :D

Lori:: Seminars, meetings etc are always boring. I hate them too. Good luck with that! Drink lots of coffee so you stay awake and so you have to pee alot so you can leave the room often! ;):p Bowling huh? Have fun but sorry to say that I am not jealous! Unless ofcourse you are allowed to have some CABS while you are there. That's the only thing that I enjoy about bowling!:rolleyes:
