Damage Control-April!!!

Hi Ladies,

My cousin and I went to Karaoke last night and had a great time. It was kind of dead in the bar, guessing there was a big game on or something.

I'm not sure what the rotation calls for today, but my intention is to do a weight and cardio w/o to work off last nights festivities. I only had 3 drinks, but the extra cardio will be good for me.

I sent my HR monitor in to Polar to be fixed last week so hopefully I'll get it back soon. I've used a HR monitor for so many years that I feel naked without it.

Laura-OMG, I'm so happy for you and your girls!!! Been this pissed PIA off big time!!!:D Goodness, another migraine. Have you looked into any of the daily meds for migraines? We have another storm coming this next week too...we desperately need the snow. We've already been imposed with watering restrictions due to the poor snowfall this year. So you caved on JNL....let us know what you think of them.

Lori-good luck on getting your house sold, what a relief that would be for you. At least you would have the option to buy a house whenever you are ready. We don't have the amount of sand you do I'm sure. That sand sure is dangerous for our skinny road bike tires.

Wendy-sounds like you are enjoying the class at the PT studio! That's awesome. I enjoy taking several classes at the rec ctr too. Ultimate fitness is one I really like but can't get to it very often since it's before I get off work. It's always some kind of circuit incorporate step, tubing, weights, and cardio. It's super fun, super tough...and the time flies by.

I'm going to finish up my coffee and get goin' on my day. The recycle is overtaking my garage...definitely a trip to the recycle center is on tap for today. bbl

This morning was group training at the pt studio.

Laura:: How old is Brutus now? Congrats on the BL Challenge win! I hope I am half as awesome as you are when I start PT'ing!

Lori:: Yup RE agents work nights and weekends! Kinda like I'll be doing once I get my certification! :rolleyes: I am turning 41 at the end of the month. I hope it's not down hill from now on with the scale just because of my age! That will NOT make me happy! :mad:

Di:: Is this re-org at work good or bad? I here you on not being able to get to classes that you love. I would certainly go to more group sessions at the pt studio as he holds 6 every week but only 2 are at times that I can make them. :(

Heading to mom's for dinner in a couple hours. Should probably get some housework done in the mean time!

Hi Girls:)

House is SOLD!!!:D:D:D she called today around 11'ish and they made a offer of 320 (we were asking 335). I told her to go back and try and get atleast 325 and she did. I would have been much happier with 330 but I wasn't about to not sell my house for the sake of 5 G. So the house will be inspected and hopefully all will be well. They also don't plan on moving for a while and are considering renting it to the girl whose there. Such a relief!

Tonight I went for a 10 k run and today I did xtrain burn sets ex tris, I ran out of time. I had a hair apt and I decided to ask her if she could do a color. Well, I wish I hadn't, although I do like it. She was expensive!!! $256!!!!! I had a headache just thinking about how much it was going to cost when I was sitting in the chair. I asked her to either do a full color or do something with the highlights I had put in myself. Next thing I know there's foils and color going in my hair, plus she was an hour late getting me started:mad: I was so antsy by the end of it. She cut my hair a different way. It was called the helix. She took sections of hair, twisted it till it couldn't twist anymore and went half way around the section with the scissors if that makes sense. She was talking about some foolishness of getting rid of all the negative hairs and I'm thinking "how do you know what's negative and positive? What if you cut all my positive hairs and leave me with a head full of negative"? I was hoping I wasn't going to like it b/c I don't want to have to pay that all the time....but I was also hoping I'd like it cause if not I just wasted $256!

Diana** did you get lots done today!? There's no where here to stick recyclables or the garbage. We don't have a garage....yet!

Wendy** your 41? I thought you were just a couple of years older then me! Not 6!:eek::D ;)...but you look so young and hot!;) Now your naps make total sense...my mom takes naps too....lol. I'm to far away for you to punch. I use to tease my running partner (whose 10 yrs older then me) about being a grandmother. Just the other day I found out that her daughter is pregnant...now it's not so funny anymore. But I'm sure when the shock wears off, I will be back to teasing her.

This morning I warmed up for five minutes and then did a pt studio style 30 min circuit of my own creation. :D

Dinner at mom's last night was good and now it's off to FIL's for more of the same! There blows the diet!:rolleyes: Not that it really matters though since the scale, the mirror and my clothes already hate me these days! :mad:

Lori: Holy crappola, woman! That's CRAZY money for a hair apptmnt! It costs me $120 for full hi/low lights and a cut/style. One time I did color and hi/lo lights. It cost me more but not THAT much. :eek: So will you go back??? Thanks for reminding me how much older I am then you! Really appreciate that! :p

Hi Ladies!

Boy, DH and I went to bed by 10pm last night...we're old! This morning I did GS legs, MMA Kickbox and Coremax #3. You all know I love the GS legs and haven't lifted in the gym for months. It was so nice to some heavy barbell squats etc!

I'm planning on cooking dinner tonight and tomorrow night so the family will have enough healthy leftovers for T/W/T when I have class.

I got to talk to Amanda and the girls yesterday. I miss them so much. MIL and I fly to Oregon on April 26th and the wedding is on the 27th. It will be a quick trip, but I'm so happy to be going!

Really girls......must I put it in writing.....I'm 47...so you can shut up now...and I don't want to hear any over the hill comments!:p Someone has to be the wise one in the group!

Wendy-Nice w/o lady....yeah...the scale is sucking these days. Although it is somewhat moving in the right direction..then nothing.

Lori-I googled the "helix cut" seems like there are believers and non-believers as far as that type of cut goes. What do you think of the cut today? My stylist charges $45 for shampoo/cut/style, $75 for partial hi/lo lights, $85 for full hi/lo lights. So glad your house sold!!! Hopefully there won't be any surprises with the inspection.

Di - I am on daily migraine meds - thing is it is my eyes - eye strain - the meds help some but not completly!! I should have JNL WEd and we are gonna try one of the workouts WED after work - will let you know - mmaybe this old body can handle it .. LOL .. you know US OLD folks gotta stick together!!!

Lori - CONGRATS on the house sell! WTG!!! I know that is huge relief!! and YOWZA ...GEESH I think I would have left the hairdresser CRYING!! The most I have ever paid was $120 for high and low lights and a cut ... :confused:

Wendy - great PT sessions - and I am SURE you are gonna ROCK as a PT!!! Brutus is almost 11 weeks old now .. and so smart .. now he can use the doggie door - totally paper trained and starting to be house trained (if monitored closely) - knows most of his commands ... although when he is ina PUPPY FRENZY all bets are off! :confused::p:p

I set my alarm for a work out this morning but there was no pressure to get up so I didn't. :p It's Group Session night at the studio so I am good! :D

Tmrw night I am going to the gym to go over sales and FINALLY pick up my internship p/w to send in for my cert! :rolleyes: This time it was my fault though as he left it for me as promised. I was just too lazy to go get it. :eek:

Di and Laura, You ladies are around my sister's age and she has 6 kids so you see, you could have it much worse! :p

Laura:: I am still waiting for a Brutus video!!!!! *taps foot impatiently* I remember my dog's puppy dayz...they were frustrating at time but man do I miss them! Just like when my son was a baby! :(

Di:: LOL re you and DH hitting the hay early on a weekend. DH and I have been known to do that! We didn't stay up very late on sat night either as a matter of fact and during the week we are in bed as early as 8:30 often times! So if you want to be the wise one then maybe we should nickname you "Yoda"? :D:p:D:p I think my only option regarding the scale/clothes/mirror issue is WW. IDK how I'll have time for it these days but I gotta try to MAKE time! I don't want this getting any worse!!! :eek:

This morning I did 30/30 and abs. Although I'm following the April rotation, the weeks workouts are being re-arranged to accomodate my tri-training and ViPR w/o's. Tomorrow morning is GS BSB in the AM, and tri-training (cardio) in the PM. It will all work out.

So here it is snowing again, about 5" so far and the roads are a slushy, icy mess. Still waiting for DS1 to get home. Jerod starts his speed clinic tonight unless it is cancelled. They cancelled all after school activities, but I will call shortly and make sure the clinic still on for tonight before I have DH head out in this nastiness.

Wendy-hhmmm, not sure I could manage 6 kids...that's a lot. Woo Hoo, your certification will be on its way shortly!!! So proud of you!!! Enjoy your evening w/o!

Laura-for many years I thought we were the same age, but I think it was this last year that I realized I am a year older than you. I like to think I'm 35 with 12 yrs of experience.

Morning Ladies -

all H## broke loose at work ystdy afternoon - more PIA and her croonies BS drama (guessing the end result of my girls "winning" and her "loosing" an MY being a part of it) and of all things DH haughty sis had to stick her stuck up nose in where it had no business and me EXPLODE and go into meltdown mode ystdy! :mad::mad::mad: long story - but lets just say I still have steam coming out of my ears .. :mad: .. Sometimes I just wonder why miserable people like to make everyone else JUST AS miserable as they are . . is it a "miserable person's creed" or something? I didnt make my run - I prbly would have had a heart attack if I had attempted it - I did do combat LB blowout and core attack tho ...

DI - well we are the same age .. guess that is why we are always complaining aabout our knees and shoulders :confused: seems we both have similar injuries too!! LOLOL .. where's Jacque .. isnt she older??? :p I also think of myself as being in my 30's .. until I see some young thing passing me on the trail w/effortless stride *sigh* .. then I KNOW I am old!!

Wendy - your training session sounded wonderful - and very different .. you should be seeing some different results!!

Lori - glad you were not in Boston running that marathon .. that is HORRIBLE .. what in the hell is this world coming to .. I swear.. it is getting to where you just are not safe anywhere!!!!

Ok .. better run .. have a stack of work calling my name ..thinking I am going to go do heavy weights at lunch .. I need some stress relief!
 
Hello. :)

Late lunch for me today...every tuesday pretty much because it's my shift to cover phones for the receptionist's lunch break.

Last night's group session was great! It hasn't changed much lately. He basically does the same work out for a month and then changes it. Gets me every time though! So he wants me to come in Wednesday night to go over the group session from a trainer's stand point bc he wants me to help him run the session with him on Saturday instead of taking it!!! :eek::eek::eek:

This morning's work out was my own creation built around the fact that I needed to catch up on 3 days worth of missed burpees! :eek: I chose to pull out my gymboss and make a tabata work out out of it!

5 minute warm up of body weight exercises like squats, lunges, push ups, downward dogs, planks, etc....then I did
24 rounds @ 10 rest/20 work:
rounds 1-8 - slow mountain climbers (knee to opposite elbow) and push up to side plank.
rounds 9-16 - one arm kettlebell swings and burpees
rounds 17-24 - back rows/flys and more burpees
I ended it with some foam rolling and YES a little STRETCHING too!;)

Laura:: Misery loves company is the saying and I guess there is truth to it unfortunately! Thanks re my work out. I am "practicing" putting my own work outs together a bit and will probably be doing that more and more as it will definitely help me figure out routines for clients until I become a more experienced trainer! I am definitely liking the idea of using the gymboss over counting reps. Makes it easier on both myself and the client! What do you think? I will use both techniques I am sure but the GB is definitely a handy tool to have! :)

Di:: Sorry about the snow. Is DS' clinic cancelled? Love the way you view your age - 35 with 12 yrs of experience! That's awesome!!!!:D

Hi Ladies,

No workout to report...booh. I got up late and didn't have time. My alarm is the radio in the bathroom when DH is taking his shower. Well he took the day off to be here for my new dryer delivery...so now I'm behind on my rotation. Oh, and too make matters worse, Jerod has a Choir concert tonight (he told me last night) so I'm missing tri-training. Just gonna go with the flow with this day.

Tomorrow morning will be CLB in the AM, and ViPR in the PM. I'll figure out the rest of the weeks rotation tomorrow night.

Wendy-yay, a group teaching opportunity...a good way for you to learn. We do a lot of "timed" exercises/circuits in my rec ctr classes. It can take less experienced exercisers a longer time to do a certain number of reps, but a minute....is only a minute!:D I definitely enjoy that the classes I choose to take at the rec ctr are different every time. Oh my goodness, I'm falling behind on the burpee challenge too. DS's class had a lot of cancellations so he'll be having a make-up session at some point. Oh, and they moved the 7-8pm class to 5-6pm. I'm a little pissed about that...he has football w/o's at the high school until 5pm 4 days per week.

Laura-sorry PIA is being....well a PIA:mad: She's just jealous. Just remember you are the better person and do not need to stoop to her level. Yes, our Jacque is a bit more "experienced" than us.:p Wish she'd come back.

Lori-what are you up to? I'm sure you're super busy with your folks visiting!

4 x through@ 10/20 (this one didn't go exactly as planned b/c I messed something up along the way. I think I fell one round short on the swings somehow but gimme a break...I was tired by this point!:p)

Burpees (6/7/7/6) (this is a great way to sneak in the burpees for the challenge! ;) )

Good Morning:)

Quick check in. I have gotten up the last two mornings to workout. Something I'm hoping to be able to do in the summer months, when I don't have to take the kids far in the mornings or on the days DH is off. Believe it or not, I have more energy when I get going then I do in the evening when I'm weighed down with dinner. So yesterday morning I did a run with super cuts and abs. Today I did tris, shoulders, chest and 40 mins on the TM. If I go straight to working out, sipping my coffee as I go I can get a lot done. In previous yrs I use to spend time here! Lol

I'll bbl to catch up!

OK .. seriously I had the DAY FROM H#LL ystdy - as my friend said "the birds of H#LL are pooping on you today" :confused: :mad: :confused: appropriate description of my suck @$$ day from haydees!! that makes TWO IN A ROW .. crap!! waiting for a migraine to kick in at any moment .. I was fit to be TIED ystdy - i felt like ticking time bomb - I did COMBAT live 60 w/weighted gloves and had several images of people that I was POUNDING on .. especially in those downward brawl punches .. I hit hard enough and visualized it so vividly they should have felt it! :p

Wendy - I didnt realize that was YOUR PT creation ystdy .. WOW .. that was awesome!! dang you are good!!! and todays looks just as awesome!! I say you are gonna be a #1 PT!!!!! :eek: :D:D:D

Di - I know I am better person .. and as my friends says it is what I represent that PI$$e$ them off so much .. but DAMN I get tired of the BS!!! geesh!! get a life and get off my back .. you know!! Dang Jerod's schedule is a full one!! geesh

Lori - how long is your workout in the morning??? wow ..it has to be a couple hours right??? i can barely get myself going in the morning .. no way I could get up an hour earlier much less 2 or 3 hours early .. crap!! I dont see how you do it ..

Laura:: Well if you need to get aggression out, Combat is certainly a great way to take care of it! :D Sorry about your bad days though. Fingers crossed that today starts an upward trend for you! Yup, I am the creator of both work outs. *takes a bow* LOL :p I need to know what works and what doesn't in order to be an effective PT and what better way to find out then to try it on myself first? ;)

Lori:: Awesome job getting your arse out of bed early to work out first thing! It can be tough to get used to but once you are used to it, it's not bad at all....MOST of the time! LOL

Hi Ladies,

I got my HR monitor back yesterday. New batteries and a new strap! I used it this morning on TTM Extreme...burned a whopping 551 cals! That totally made my day!!! Now I need to use it on combat, as I mentioned previously combat Live 60 wasn't much a calorie burner for me.....well I think it was because my batteries were dying.

ViPR has been cancelled for tonight due to the stickin' snow....another 4"-8" inches today. Jerod has class tonight at 5pm....it may be cancelled also.

Wendy-you are putting together some nice w/o's lady! You will be a great trainer....sounds like you will be doing group training, that's what I would like to do someday.

Laura-another day from HE**...sorry to hear that. Maybe we will be getting our "spring time in the rockies" soon. Enjoy that run in your nice warm weather.

Lori-I do much better with morning w/o's too. If I skipped my coffee/computer time in the morning I could get even more done....but I'm not going to push it. I need my coffee.:p I hadn't considered taking my coffee downstairs with me...

Hello Ladies. S.H.*.T.! :D

This morning I did JNL Shoulder Shredder but I replaced the cardio intervals with the following lower body exercises::

Goblet squats, Stability Ball bridges, Rear Lunges at a slow pace concentrating on putting the weight in the front heel and not on the back foot, Plie Squats, Stiff leg Dead Lifts, Lateral Lunges.

I had to cut the work out short coz I ran out of time which annoyed the anal side of me :p but I think I only missed one circuit so that's not too bad. I think I'll live! ;)

Today and tmrw are both dress down days at work AND they are ordering in food for lunch as well. I will partake but I am bringing salad to try to fill up a bit first!

Went to the studio last night. He showed me several corrective exercises that I should do and then we went over Saturday's session and how it will work. I am nervous but excited! He also talked about my eventually needing insurance in order to run sessions solo so it's obvious that the intention is for me to end up working there! :)

Finally got my internship p/w faxed over y'day. Hopefully it won't take long for them to send me my cert! I want to start actually earning a paycheck for all of the time I am putting into this! :p

Gotta scram but I'll be back at lunch to chat with my girlies! :cool:

MOrning Ladies ..

I FINALLY got my run in - after the third day in haydees - I was gona run 3 miles since I have not ran in a while - I ran the first 1 1/2 so fast .. i said .. aahhh make it 4 .. then said ahhh make it 5 .. well got to the 1/2 way mark to 5 .. and thought :confused: oh SH### you messed up .. overestimated your UMPH .. LOL .. but I made it back .. in an unimpressive just under an hour .. but heck i made it .. and I am SORE this morning .. the hammies, INNER THIGHS and quads are hurting today - soooooo I will be RESTING today - and I got my JNL DVDs in .. so tmrw I hope to try the first workout!! :D

DN spent the night last night - we had a blast - Brutus LOVES him - they played and played - and Brutus slept ON him last night .. have to admit I am kinda jealous :( :confused: :p

Wendy - yup sounds like they are wanting you to work there - woohoo - they must have faith in you - and they should .. you are gonna make an awesome trainer!!! so how hard is the cardio in JNL .. are you puddle of sweat or ?????

DI - Combat 60 has GOT to be a calorie burner .. especially w/weighted gloves ... do report what your monitor says! I would ahve to say it is your batteries!!

Lori - what is on tap for today?

Hi Ladies,

This morning I did GS BSB and my ab machine for 3 minutes...tonight I did Ride for cycling tonight. It's way too cold and there is too much snow to run or ride outsied. I opted out of swimming since my physical therapist taped my knee this afternoon and he likes me to try to leave it on for at least 24 hours....48 is preferred.

Laura-Nice job getting that run in....even if you overestimated. I haven't ran since Easter and I'm not sure I want to. My IT Band work can be really painful and I'm afraid running will just make it worse. I'm gonnat have to get back to it though at some point. About the HR monitor...I feel naked without it and am so glad to have it bad! My calorie burn is always a lot less than what the workout manager indicates. For example, I burned 551 cals on TTM Extreme (i'm happy with that cal burn) but Cathe's site shows it as over 700. Tonight I did Ride and burned 447 cals, the WM indicates over 700. When I get better at Ride my cal burn should go up. But I worked my ass off on TTM Extreme.

Wendy-I'm so proud of you!:D I think there are many of us that could use refreshers on certain exercises. Most of the trainers at my rec ctr are good about explaining and showing proper form...always before BodyPump and in our small group training.

Lori-what are you up to, kids folks, husband, work...need I even ask?

Chair pose lat rows with tubing anchored under feet
