Damage Control-April!!!

Hey Girls:)

Tonight I did BS bics and a 10 k run outside. I'm guessing tomorrow will be BS back and tris and cardio of some sort.

Diana** congrats on the dropping scale:). That's always good. Now if you know what the problem is, then you need to continue doing it. It's that simple:rolleyes:. I'm later getting to bed with my longer workouts but I don't care. Also if the boys aren't outside, or DS I should say, I can take them downstairs with me while I do weights and then do cardio after they go to bed.

Wendy** did you get your workout in tonight? Everyone seems to be happy that we have it easier the next couple of days. We actually can go drinking while we are bowling but I can't...have kids to take care of! Lol and that's hard to do drunk! Ha! But I bet it would be fun:eek:

Laura** yeah I'm gonna see how this one goes. Maybe she won't ask for my lulu again. I am willing to bet she has enough of her own. Another kidney attack!? Geez! I don't miss that pain. The girl that's in the office across from me was playing some kind of relaxing music today cause when she gets stressed it helps her...well, i thought I was gonna fall a sleep! Felt like I should have been at the spa.

Hi Ladies,

Afterburn is on the agenda this morning. The rotation calls for supercuts, but I want to do AB instead. Then I will have 3 rest days in a row! Leaving early tomorrow and get back late Sunday night. I took Monday as a vacation day too though so I could do laundry.....no one at this house does laundry when I travel.:eek: I can't decide if I want to take my tablet or not. I don't know if I'll have anytime to use it if I do take it.

Lori-What's the weather like for you? Are you able to run outside or is it too cold or dark. It's been a real struggle to drop the pounds from the holidays and I eat pretty much the same stuff all the time. The temps are supposed to be super nice the rest of the week, but I won't be here to enjoy it. I need to start running in the mornings at least 2 times per week in addition to the tri training.

Laura-oh no, another kidney stone...you poor thing. Hope you are feeling better now. Take care.

Wendy-I've increased my water intake significantly and also doing more cardio, that seems to be helping with the scale. I still have a few more lbs to go but at least the scale is moving....after being stuck for months.

Jacque-how are you doing and what have you been up to?

Morning Ladies ..

feeling better today - and HOPING I can get a workout in today ... feeling a bit beat up .. but in need of some working out still! :confused: would be nice to get in a run this afternoon .. it is a bit cooler today .. 76 ... good running weather!! if I have anotehr stone .. running will usually JAR it loose!! :confused: dont know if that is good thing or bad :confused:

Lori - ya .. I cant listen to the spa music ... OR 'white noise' .. they have that playing in the back .. I play that at night to drown out DH snoring .. and that puts me right off to sleep!! I couldnt handle that at work I would be doing face plant on desk!! :p

Di - congrats on the scale move in the right direction .. woohoo!!!! Where are you going ?? did I miss it??? have fun wherever you are going!! a couple of girls here did a MUD RUN .. the pics look awesome .. they said it was sooo much fun .. I could see you and Lori doing that .. LOL!!! they have a COLOR run near us coming up later summer .. that looks fun ... I havent ran a race in forever ..it wasnt healthy for me .. I was too competitive .. LOL .. made myself sick .. but I may enjoy something that is more light hearted like that!

Wendy - another great workout creation - I am impressed!! and heck your workouts seem to be WORKING on you huh??? WTG!!!

Good Afternoon! :)

This morning's work out was the one I was supposed to do y'day but slept thru. :mad:

Here's what I did::

Weight Training:
1)Plie Squat Press, Firewalker with bicep curl, kickbacks in plank on both sides.
2)Side lateral raises with a sliding rear lunge on both sides, Hammer curl with squat, Overhead presses with rear lunges.
3)Front raise with side lunge, Angled out bicep curls with one leg on stability ball, plank to push or triceps push ups.

(1-2-3 were done circuit style straight thru with no rest until the end then short rest and repeat for a 2nd time. Each number is a grouping of one shoulder, one bicep and tricep exercise compounded with either a lower body, core or balance move. Rep counts varied depending on the move.)

Cardio Conditioning:
10 Burpees - 10 Speed Squats - 10 Burpees - 10 Speed Squats - 10 Burpees - 10 double arm kb swings - 10 Burpees - 10 double arm kb swings.

DONE! :D

Lori:: Kids, schmids! That's no excuse not to have a few drinks! It's never stopped me!:p:D

Laura:: Your "cooler" weather is warmer then any weather we've seen yet I think. It gets hot early by you! Do you have temp patterns similar to Florida? Fingers crossed you can get that run in today! Thanks re my work outs. They obviously aren't hurting me! ;)

Diana:: Enjoy the glute doms that only Afterburn can give tmrw!:D I keep trying to up my water intake as well. I guess I am doing okay but probably could do much better! I hear you on the laundry. UGH! :rolleyes: DH will help if I ask but if I'm just not around then forget it! He claims he doesn't think about it...I guess he also doesn't think about the pile of dishes in the sink...or the crud on the counters from making something to eat and not cleaning up after yourself...shall I go on? :confused: MEN!:mad:

Hi Ladies,

Just popping in....my bags are packed and I'm ready for my early morning flight! I'm super excited. I got to talk to the girls today and I can't wait to see them tomorrow. I still haven't decided if I'm taking my tablet or not, if not it will be radio silent for me. Not sure I have the patience to try to check in from my phone.

Anyway, hope you all have a wonderful weekend....and get some workouts in for me.:D

Good Morning:)

I am up way to early. Not early enough to workout but to early to go to work. I was lying in bed thinking of paying my bills so I got up and did that:rolleyes:. I think I have them all...although I don't remember seeing a phone bill yet. Maybe it got lost.

Last night I went for another 10k run, then I did BS back, tris and HR abs. Then for some reason MM jumped out at me:eek: so I did that too:p. I think I was taking advantage of the fact that no one was here. Its been 3 weeks since I felt bad b/c I was down stairs working out while everyone else was up here watching t.v.

So my parents left yesterday. It wasn't bad. I was the first to say good bye and it was fine. I don't know what she was like when she had to leave the boys. DH drove them into the city so he was gone all day as well. We finished up bowling at 3 and I didn't want to come home! I would have rathered went back to work! I knew the lonely feeling was going to be here to welcome me home. So I went shopping instead! But I had to come home eventually. It will take a couple of days of getting use to. They left at 9 last night and they are still flying....I feel for them. They are going to be so tired!

My ring should be here today:D Fingers crossed!!! Stupid thing. I emailed her one day last week and asked if she had heard anything b/c she was putting "rush" on it and asking for the ring to be send priority post to her. I don't know if she forgot about it or what but when she emailed me back she said that she called the company and the guy who was in charge of my ring, didn't work there anymore so the order had never been placed. THEN they put a rush on it:confused:

Diana** Have a fun trip!!! I bet you are super excited! Hopefully the boys won't make to much laundry dirty when your away but if its like my house, you will come back to mountains. I haven't turned the washer on since mom arrived....and I'm not exaggerating:eek: Have a good trip! The weather is pretty decent here. I have been getting all of my runs in outside. Last night I wore crops and a long sleeve shirt...no mitts or hat!

Laura** I'm crossing my fingers that no more stones come your way! Ick! they are just awful! The girl who was playing the spa music is now on stress leave:confused:. Everyone seems to have their plates piled up so high. I don't have that much on the go right now but I think they are slowly going to give me more to do!

Wendy** I had one drink while we were bowling. Geez...I suck at that game. First time up I got a strike. From that moment on, it was all down hill.

Tonight I will probably do a run and abs...or I may rest. I have training later but nothing else happening.

TGIF ---woohoooo

MOrning Ladies ..

I got my run in - 4 miles - started off strong .. then ended kinda weak - but for a recovery run .. it was good!! I needed it!!! Brutus aka: "the destroyer" .. managed to pull off a ceramic deer yesterday .. and bust it up .. he ate the head and antlers and 2 feet .. we were scared for him .. but vet said to watch him .. he has been his usual full of energy self ... so we thought .. well maybe it shattered and he didnt eat it .. well NOPE .. in his poop this morning was 4 beads from my decorative pillow he destroyed .. and one antler - a peice of the nose and a part of the deer head :confused::confused: :mad: sooo HE ATE IT!! WTH???????? That dog I swear!!! SOOOOOO sweet!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOO destructive!!! LOL I remember numerous worries we had about things Buster ate .. NOW .. :confused:

Wendy - yup - it has been around 80+ and HUMID here .. we went straight from winter to summer .. no spring .. yesterday was 76 w/crisp air .. so it was cooler .. we even dropped to 42 last night .. we are usually only a couple degrees off of Florida's temps .. sometimes mid summer we are actually HOTTER b/c FL gets the Gulf breeze and we are stiffled sandwiched w/no air!! But winter time .. we get 10 degree colder .. go figure???? GREAT WORKOUT .. heck I need to be writing your workouts down .. they are some goodies!!

Di - have a safe trip .. and enjoy the girls .. if we dont hear from you we will know you are in "grandmother" bliss!!!

Lori - IA w/Wendy - CABS are always a good idea when watching kids :p:p:p I know you will miss your parents!!! they had a good long visit tho!!! Do you think you did enough workout ystdy???? :confused::confused: crazy woman!!!!

I don't have what I did written down b/c I created a work out last night and then ofcourse, changed it as I was doing and didn't write it down. I also neglected to even bring the original with me to help spark my memory. I'll do the best I can to regurgitate it!:confused::rolleyes:

Forward alternating dixie cup lunges using 5# db's instead of cups. (20 alternating)
Side slide lunges (10 per side)
Rear lunges (10 per side)

Stability ball bridges (10 @ 30 secs each)

Walking Lunges (10)
Firewalkers (20)
Walking Lunges (10)
Firewalkers (10)
Walking Lunges (10)
Firewalkers (10)

When I woke up this morning my biceps felt like they were broken (and still do!) coz they were/are so sore! :eek: Other then that I just had mild twinges of DOMS in various spots. But by the time my work out was done and I was getting ready to go to work I felt like a truck hit me! :confused:I felt AWFUL! I took 3 advil. Don't feel as bad now but still not wonderful. :rolleyes:

Morning...

Sorry but I had to leave out the GOOD today. Nothing like having DOMS and body aches from a fever at the same time. UGH! :( That truck that hit me as mentioned in y'day's post apparently decided to back up and do it again b/c as the day went on it got worse! I went to bed at 7:30 last night and basically slept for 12 hours. When I got up this morning I thought I might be feeling better but after 10 minutes on my feet making coffee and washing dishes that truck came back for me! Waaaahhhh! :(

I purchased PT insurance last night while I was comatose on the couch (that's just prior to being comatose in the bed!:p)and was looking forward to (though nervous as hell and scared to death at the same time!:eek:) trying my hand at exercise demonstration this morning at the pt studio but it's just not going to happen. :( I am usually not sick for very long though so I should be good to go for Monday night. Fingers crossed!!!!

Needless to say...no work out for me today. Probably not much of anything for me today. We were planning on going shopping at the outlets by us today if it was nice out and man it's beautiful out there! I can't go feeling the way I do though! This just sucks! GRRRRRR!!!!!:mad:

Ok, I'm done whining for now. Hope you ladies have a better Saturday then I am likely to have and I'll BBL!
 
Good Morning:)

DH bought a key board for the ipad...its pretty neat. He said "you need it when your talking to your cathe friends" LOL. Don't seem like I get here enough these days.

We had a good sleep last night. The baby woke but went back until 8. I have coffee with a couple of other mothers this morning and then I am going to aim to get my 18 k in. Its suppose to be nice here today. I feel like breaking out the sandals and crops. I actually need to see what I have. I ordered a couple of pairs yesterday. I don't even know where my summers cloths is but I will be happy to put these boots away.

Yesterday was a rest day in prep for todays run. Hopefully its not to painfull!

Laura** I had to laugh at the dog...sorry! Its pretty funny. I dont know if I would be looking through my dogs poop....you love your animals more then I do:eek:

Wendy** So no shopping and no workout....doesn't sound like a very good Saturday! I got my ring yesterday! So far so good...fits perfect:) Crossing my fingers your feel better soon!

Good Morning. :)

Well y'day turned out much better then anticipated! I had to miss the PT Studio but before 11 am I started to feel better and ended up having a great day! We did some shopping and went out to dinner for my Birthday.

I ordered a pair of Adidas Adipure Lace Trainers last night for my B'day from DH. Tried to find them y'day but couldn't find them in ANY of the half a dozen stores we hit! WTH!?! :confused: I didn't want to order them online because I've never tried them on so IDK what size I am but apparently I have no choice....??

I also bought a hot tools deep wave curler at Ulta compliments of my DH. Can't wait to try it out! I'll probably play with it at some point today! :)

No work out to report yet for today but it's going to happen so I'll be back with it once it does!

Lori:: Where do you find all of these other moms to hang out with?? I never had that. You are so lucky! :) Glad the ring fits....FINALLY!:p

What a quiet bunch....her all alone this weekend:confused:

Well! Yesterday's run was very eventful:mad:. I bought myself a new pair of sneakers, thought I was all sorted to, drank some stuff I had bought, ate a snack and away I went. First I started of with shin splits, that finally went away, then it was the wind, about 6 km in, I got a bad stomach...which is really weird b/c I had used the bathroom in the morning. Around 13 Km i couldn't handle it anymore and I had to use the bathroom in a wooded area (thank goodness I took a paper towel with me!) from that point on it was downhill even more....I used the bathroom so many times after I got home, then I started throwing up...,it was terrible! I blamed it on the oatmeal and flaxseed I had eaten before my run but then I looked into what I drank. Apparently it has a reputation for making people sick if its not taken on a empty stomach that's what happens....seriously!? Good way to drop a few, I can tell you that much!

Today will be weights, I'm not sure what yet though and some kind of cardio!

Seated Rear Delt Flys (15 reps)

2 rounds of:
Firewalkers (24 reps/4 left, 4 right, etc)
Sliding Rear Lunges - Left (12 reps)
Sliding Rear Lunges - Right (12 reps)
Stability Ball Glutes Bridges - Start sitting on ball w/10# DB in lap, roll out to bridge position, squeeze glutes and hold for 10 count, roll back up to sitting position keeping weight in lap the entire time = 1 rep (8 reps)
4 count Deadlifts (12 reps)

4 rounds of:
Torso rotations with Body Bar on shoulders (16 reps)
Squat and alternating side leg lifts with bar on shoulders and firewalker loop around ankles (16 reps)

40 "fancy" Burpees - loop on ankles/med ball pick up with bicep curl and overhead press. :D

1 set of Front raise (both arms at same time) w/light weight to failure.

30 alternating weighted jabs
10 burpees
30 alternating weighted upper cuts

20 med ball torso rotations right
20 med ball torso rotations left
50 alternating butterfly crunches
15 tube chops right

Hi Ladies,

I finally got home last night about 12:30...my MIL and were BEAT! We had a wonderful but busy weekend with Amanda and the girls! She had a country themed wedding and I hope to get some pics uploaded to FB later today. She let us keep the girls with us at the hotel on her wedding night. Rallie was planning on sleeping with me and Rylee was going to sleep with great grandma, but when it was bed time they both decided to sleep wiht great grandma. I don't think my poor MIL got much sleep. She ended up sleeping across the foot of the bed with the quilt for covers. Bless her heart, I love her so much.

I haven't worked out since Thursday and plan on doing something today, just not sure what. I need to see if Cathe posted the May rotation so I can just keep plugging along with her 3 months get ready for summer rotation.

The gym where DS is taking his speed/football clinic also has a womens fitness class. It too is super expensive but I want to see if I can take a class for free before signing up. They use metrics for all their sessions so you see continued improvement, the classes are smaller.....and I'm guessing the clientele may be younger too. I'm going to check it out anyway.

Wendy-you've been putting together some great w/o's. I'm thinking of going back through our thread and copying them into Word so I can have them for future use. It's always good to mix things up and you are quite creative! Happy Belated Birthday!

Lori-What a crappy run you had. Glad you figured out what made you sick. What was it, an energy drink?? DH bought me a keyboard for my tablet because I didn't think I could get by without it. I rarely use it. The nice thing is it has the ports in it that my tablet doesn't. It is very useful to have.

Laura-Glad to hear you are finally feeling better. Poor Brutus.....my DS2 was just like that....always into something etc. :p Hope what he ate doesn't hurt him or make him sick. We are supposed to have nice temps today and tomorrow I think, and then it gets cold again.

I already started laundry, the dishwasher (seriously) and now I'm jumping over to the desktop to upload my pictures and see how they turned out.

Diana:: Glad you and MIL had a great time at the wedding and with the GD's!!! As for the class you want to try - what are metrics??? :confused: If you decide to try one of my work outs I definitely want feedback! :)
 
Good Morning Gals:)

Quick check in. I don't have to drop the boys off this morning so I have a little bit of extra time.

Yesterday's workout was mindy spin and floor tabata (did about 40 mins of it) and GS B,S&B. Sunday's workouts was a 9 k run with the stroller and GS C&T and core max tough abs.

I was so mad yesterday morning. There is a 3.5 hour time difference between here and home. The girl who is renting my house text me and woke me at 4:14 to tell me that the dog next door was barking and she couldn't sleep:mad: I was sooooo mad! If we can make it two more weeks without a blow up I will be surprised. I am guessing she was just venting, unless there was something she actually expected me to do about it! I just text her back and said "and your waking me at 4:14". As the day went on I got more annoyed by it. A dog wakes her at 7 and she wakes me at 4....and she has the nerve to complain about the dog. Spoiled brat is about the size of it.

Wendy** the stuff I drank was no explode. It wasn't cheap. I may try it again...not during the work week!

Diana** Sounds like you had a awesome weekend.....I figured you would. Are the girls coming for some time again this summer? Your mil must be a pretty young great grandma to be able to sleep side ways on a bed. If we poked DH's grandmother in a bed she'd seize up!:eek:

Hi Ladies,

No workout to report for yesterday....but I was busy. 4 loads of laundry, get gas for the lawn mower and mow the lawn, upload pics from camera and phone to the computer, pedicure, grocery shopping, and making dinner.

I posted some pics from the wedding on FB. Go take a peek when you have time.

Cathe hasn't posted the next months' rotation, so I think I'll just do a circuit and hit everything once over. Leaning towards HST.

Lori-Nice w/o's you did this past weekend. I miss doing cardio & weights every day or most days. I do not like being woke up either. When we leave our bedroom window open, the damn birds are chirping at 4am and pissing me off! The girls will be here on May 22nd...3 weeks and counting.

Hey ..

I was on vaca ystdy ... I am in another office today .. it has been crazy ... DH has been working my fingers to the bone ... on different (major) projects .. UGH .. I feel like I have run a triatholon with no finish line in sight .. still lots to do .. :confused: .. I hurt my ankle unloading a refrigerator w/him .. :mad: .. it came off trlr too fast and I was under it pushing .. it came down to fast and my leg bent too far forward ..I finally had to jump out of way .,. I thought it sprained it .. but I just think it is strained .. stretched too far ... but it is hurting and swollen :mad::mad::mad: dammit!

Brutus passed a lot of the ceramic peices .. and now everything seems normal .. CRAZY DOG .. he is a smart dog .. but that puppy energy and curiosity gets the best of him!!

Lori .. sounds like NO explode .. MADE you explode!!! yikes!!! IDK .. sounds like you dont need to take that crap anymore!!! OK .. I prbly would have cussed the RENTAL girl OUT!!! that is uncalled for WTH are you supposed to do about that anyway .. not to mention you are aross the country from her .. IDIOT!!!
