Hello Cathe!

I was wondering what are some of your daily food menus? Do you have any special recipes that you could share?

I absolutely love your workouts...I had hit a plataue this past summer until I ordered satellite tv and discovered you. My body has changed so much so fast and I'm proud to say its because of YOU!
You are my idol!!!

Anyway, I would love to hear what food menus/recipes you could share!

Thanks!!
Gina:) :)

Hi Gina. I actually just answered this not too long ago so I will share my answer again here :)

I really don't have any "juicy" recipes since I have a sensitive stomach and get very bloated from many saucy, spicey, greasy, gravied foods. My system does well on bland and that's why it's very easy for me to eat clean. I usually cook separate stuff for the family though since bland isn't exciting for most

My week consists mostly of the basics:

One or two days a week its steamed seafood (salmon, shrimp, scallops, flounder, orange roughy, tuna)

One day chicken

One day turkey

One day lean red meat

Sometimes a lean white pork

I also like eggs (three whites to one egg yoke), protein shakes, low fat yogurt, tofu, peanut butter, etc.

I like romaine lettuce, mixed baby greens, brocolli, green beans, chick peas, carrots, peas, and a wide variety of other vegatables.

I also like brown rice and sweet potatoes and occasionally some pasta.

I usually just drink water and non-fat milk. Once a day either green tea or coffee.

Again, nothing exciting, just food basics.

Take Care!

Cathe -

Thanks for answering this question. I was only browsing when I saw it and your answer helped me a little with my new dilemma (sp?) of a ton of restricted foods. (delayed food allergies) One allergy is bascially to all protein sources; chicken, soy and eggs are at the top so I can't have them for a while. But fortunately I can rotate the turkey, beef, salmon, and pork.

So I'm looking for new ideas in prepping..if you don't mind me asking....steamed seafood... how do you prep it? I've always broiled or BBQ, but steaming may get me more fish in my diet. (and it gives me more rotation.

Thanks!

You might decide to post this on the open discussion forum, since many of them have great, healthy recipes to share:)

I forgot to add... not that Cathe doesn't have any great recipes, but she may not have the opportunity to respond to this immediately, and you might get some other great ideas from other fitness fanatics as well:)

Well I am hoping when the forums go through the upgrade, I read there will be a separate forum for nutrition and recipes, and we can all share on there !!!!!!!!!

Not Cathe, but I recently bought a rice cooker/steamer. You can steam fish in it, cook grains, make "hard boiled eggs" etc. I recently steamed shrimp in it and they came out great.

Aim for nothing, and you'll hit it every time!

Ann~I have a steamer and for some reason never thought of doing anything but rice in it! :p Thanks for sharing.
