Daily Check in Fri 4-7

Good Morning Ladies,
TGIF and hopefully next week I have more energy to put my full effort into my workouts. I ended my workout week with MM and a additional 3.0 mile run and some ab work. It took all my strength to get through the leg work of MM (legs still weak/tired:( ) but I did it. Tomorrow is a rest day(happy dance) and double bonus it is also my hair salon day. I am sooo looking forward to it, at this time I am starting to feel like a sheep dog. Besides that I will be spending my time shopping for my DS'S 8th birthday party, he wants a luau party and in typical Joanne fashion I have to go overboard on the decorations all the way down to the hawaiian shirts;) . Anyway I hope everyone has a great day and weekend!

Morning ladies. Rest day for me today. I had to pretty much force myself to not workout today. I'm preparing for my Gym Styles which are arriving today. I'm hopefully goint to have a weekend filled with sweat and DOMS.

Have a great day!

Katie

Good morning,

This morning I did PUB and TBS1.

Jane- just an fyi about Christi. Her hi/lo is not nearly as intense as Cathe's. I find her hi/lo leaves me feeling like I've had a brisk walk (break a light sweat, get the blood moving and the muscles warmed up). You are going to be staring at the tv alot with her hi/lo; it's more complicated than her step, IMO. I like Christi's workouts on days when I just don't want Cathe's high intensity.

Phyllis - pulled your back brushing your teeth? Oh my! It's always the little things that creep up on us, isn't it? Happy B-day to your son! My favourite age was 17 (oh, so many years ago!).

Shelley - good luck with your run! I was wondering about your hip; I'm glad to hear it's doing better.

Tammy - my daughter loves your treadmill guy. She's sitting beside me while I type.

Becky - Oh, I'm soooo sorry about your dog!! That must have been a huge shock. :-( :-(

Heather - the changes you're making to your rotation sound very sensible. You're being very respectful of your body, and it will thank you for it. Have a good Friday :)

Carole - thanks for the heads up about your email address. I might actually have time today to write you an email!

Laurie - so, did Mindy's intervals feel as hard as Cathe's IMAXs? And are you going to buy one of the dollar houses from the student ghetto? All you have to do is pay to have them moved; that can't be too expensive, can it? You can put it in your backyard and call it a guest house :)

Vilma - I'm sending good energy your way. Happy Friday!

Conni - you and I are on the same wavelength. I did PUB today, and will be doing IMAX3 tomorrow. And you're right about Christi's choreography; once you figure her out, it's much easier to pick up her workouts.

Pamela - MIC's hi/lo is my least liked Cathe cardio. I force myself to do it about once a month because it offers great cardio conditioning (and calorie burning), but I'm always happy to count it as finished.

Lorrie - thank heavens for laptops and dvds, hey? I've used mine to do workouts in hotel rooms.

Judy, Wendy, Shannon, Teddygirl, Sunnydelite - great workouts! Have a good weekend!

Cheers,
Sandra

Hey everyone. Sound like some great workouts have happened this week. I actually have a cold and was supposed to do ME yesterday and did not, so hopefully today I can get that in. Becky I had tears in my eyes reading about your dog. They are so incredibly special our pets. I have a long haired dachsund who is almost 13 and I know that day will come for me too when I lose her.... Well have a great weekend everyone and I am going to try the Amy Bento tomorrow the A team bootcamp. I will let you know how it goes.

Cheers!
Susan

Hey Sandra, Mindy's intervals are different than Cathe's, the workout is not as well structured. The first interval was one minute of 'over the top' with some side lunges a la StepWorks combo 3 thrown in. It'll take me a few tries before my brain and body are on the same page with the workout. I do know that it won't be a dust collector which is great. There are 2 hi/lo intervals at the end with some pliee jacks, first they were tempo like Cathe's then it was 3 quick and hold which I really liked. At the end she does full pushups with her hands on a med ball, (picture me gaping at the TV thinking, 'I don't think sooo'. They look challenging and obviously doable but I need to take very good care of my wrists with my work so I'll pass on them for now. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it right?!!):D

How sad is that when a Chick from Edmonchuck has a better idea what's going on in K-town than I do;-) The student ghetto speaks for itself, I'll keep my loonie and get a coffee but I'm sure if walls could talk they'd have some ear curling stories to tell:)

Hope you are managing well with the Girls on the ward. How are they doing? Did Katie get mixed up with the time change? Is Paris resisting bedtime now that it's lighter outside. I'm loving the longer evenings......aaahhhhh spring......someone should send mother nature a memo, it's bloomin' cold here.

Take Care
Laurie:)

Shelley,

I love the Powerstrikes, and I have all three millenium. I will probably do one of them tomorrow.

Hi Judy,

What is your longest run? I love to run, but my right knee usually doesn't allow me to. Phyllis, good luck on your son's road test. My son passed his about a month ago. I also hope that you feel better.

RE: Daily Check-in

Hello, Heather,

How do you keep everybody's name straight? Do you make notes? I have almost every Cathe workout, but perhaps I should add the Terminator to my collection because I am an intensity junkie. I apologize for all of my short posts, as I am trying to learn about all of you.

Last night, I doubled up on classes in my gym, and I took a circuit step class that is similar to Cardio and Weights. After that, I did the kickboxing class. I had been doing one body part a day in addition to my cardio, but then I hurt my upper back. The pain is in my trapezius and rear delts, and I attribute it to the back workout I did one Monday, sitting too long working at the computer, and stress. I am slowly adding in circuits and light weights to my routine.

Today, I think I am going to do Maximum Intensity Cardio. I have so many Cathe workout, and I haven't even done all of them yet.

Have a wonderful weekend, all.

good afternoon everyone!

Becky- so sorry to hear about your dog.

Everyone does such impressive workouts - you are all so creative in combining different parts - I usually just stick to the workout as/is, but I think I'm getting inspired to try some new combinations.

Today was CTX Kickbox, tomorrow is Step & Intervals and then Sun. is a rest day. Next week I am going to continue with 1 body part a day and cardio, but will try to use the GS (I embarassed to admit I have only done those once and I got them when they first came out!)

Have a great weekend.

Tracy

Well, the gym plan got cancelled as Joey has a cold. :-(

Muscle Max got done this morning before I got Joey up and then at nap time I did KPC through the 1st kick-punch combo. I'm gonna try to sneak off to the gym tomorrow morning if daddy is available to watch the little guy for an hour or so! Have a B'day party tomorrow afternoon so if I do this it will have to be early!

Catch ya later girls!:)

Thanks Pamela and Heather, and others, my son had his MRI yesterday and all went well. He even finished up faster than they had told me it would take. We wait now to go to the orthopedist to get the results and that isn't for 2 weeks.

I did Hardcore Kickbox Circuit today and made it through the whole workout, first workout I have completed all week.

Hope you all have a great day!!:7

I think today may end up being an unplanned rest day. DH's co-worker (she was his right hand)and also a dear friend of ours, passed away suddenly today. I'm still reeling from the shock. She had been suffering from headaches and recently learned (about three weeks ago) that a brain tumor was the cause of them. Surgery was the only option, so she had the surgery two days ago. The surgery went well, and she was up and about yesterday. In the middle of the night she suffered a massive heart attack, and was declared dead this afternoon. How does this happen? She was young and healthy. She worked out regularly. She has two little girls, and I was just talking to her about our kids last Thursday. Her husband is devastated. The doctors have no explanation for what happened. Apparently, they are as shocked as everyone else.

Life is so precious -- no moment should be taken for granted.

Pamela

Oh no... I started "getting the feeling" about 2 p.m. today, you know the one (take loaf of bread and a jar of PB and hide in the closet)!!! Well, right after I got off work at 3 instead of heading to the kitchen for my snack of plain yogurt and grape nuts trail mix cereal, I went to put on my running clothes and shoes but first I measured my hips!!! Have you ever measured your hips in the afternoon!!! I would only recommend it in emergencies!! I have eaten my snack and after I hit "post message", I'm out the door. The wind is blowing 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph (so says WeatherBug), I should get an extra calorie burn with the head wind!!

(((((HUGS)))) Pamela. Please pass on my sympathy and prayers to all involved. That is sooo awful and sooo sad. I don't understand when things like this happen to such a young and vibrant life. It truly is scarey. :-(

Please take all of the time that you need. This can't be easy.

So Sorry for the loss of your dear friend Pamela((hugs)). We recently had a similiar experience happen. My next door neighbor suddenly died of "natural cause" and he was only 50. His wife came home from work and found him dead in the same chair/clothes that he was in when she left for work in the morning. So sad he was a great neighbor.

Today was Cardio only

I did LowMax combos 1,2,4,5,6, and 7 without the blast. I am still trying to learn combo 3, so I substituted that with a 10 minute carb solution workout. That one is tough ! I will get it eventually. Have a good workout ladies !

Pamela, I'm so sorry for your and your DH's loss. We lost a dear friend to melanoma in January, he was only 52, so I know how you feel. It is so hard when they died so young and full of life. It just doesn't seem fair. All of you are in my prayers.
