Crazy, strong & loving it for JULY!

Good Evening,

I went to the gym and did the elliptical for 60 minutes. It was 103 degrees today and the air at the gym couldn't keep up so I was sweating buckets.

I just finished today's workout and it was super fun! So, I'll just check in now.

Here's today's workout:

LIS- Athletic Training = 56 Min
Met Value= 7.50
Calories burned= 573

STS Ab Circuits- Med Ball Abs= 10 Min
Met Value= 4.50
Calories burned= 61

Total calories burned= 634;)

Debbie- Sorry to hear the shoulder is still bugging you but its better. You're playing it smart to start slow and just ease into getting your body use to working out again slowly just moving. I like that and its the safest and smartest way to get back into exercise again, so cudo's! Nicely done with your walk on the treadmill today, and love that your doing yoga relax for gentle stretching. Both of those are great compliments to rehabing your shoulder safely and getting moving again but not trying to do too much too soon. No worries about not doing Muscle Max tomorrow, it will still be there when its safe and ready for you to do so. Woot! You're on vacation next week, awesome and I think the extra week rest is a plus, so take it easy and enjoy!;)

Roxie- I don't blame you for rescheduling with your PT. I understand you said that would mean that the next workout would then be back to back workouts. Ok, yeah that's tough but make sure you eat your wheaties and just go for it and give yourself a big pat on the back for doing it when the time comes. I bet things are exciting for your DD right now and I'm sure they'll be thrilled to get into their new place. Its great your helping them get stuff done and pitching in a helping hands where needed, I bet they really appreciate the help. Awesome on ordering the new workouts!!!:eek: I did too, I ordered all 10 dvd's with Ride, I couldn't resist. Have a great evening!;)

Chris- Yes, CrossFire is tough but doable. I know what you mean that six minute Tabata sounds innocent enough, but its pure evil/ LOL!! Its the toughest six minutes you could imagine in a workout, its no joke! I do love CrossFire, and want to be challenged in my workouts and I know somedays I'll be struggling to get through it and others it will be easier in the future but I love that the tough challenge factor is there. I was amazed my knees didn't hurt when I did the whole workout for the first time, because previously I'd done some of the shorter premixes from it. I was pleasantly surprised by how time flew during the workout and it was a doable challenging sweatfest and I loved it!!! Wow, today you did GS , Back Shoulders, and Biceps, now that is a killer workout. Awesome job both yesterday and today, WTG Super Woman!!!:):D;):cool:

Belinda- Congrats on getting Butts and Guts done today, that is also a wickedly effective killer workout, ^^^5's.:):cool:

Today I was suppose to do Muscle Max but like I said yesterday, I changed my mind. I decided to do the entire workout of Yoga Relax by Cathe and I loved it. Doing these workouts really makes me aware of how tight my body is. I've been doing stretching for a few weeks now and my body is still really tight. I can only do the basic movements of yoga right now, I remember when I use to be able to do all the advanced movements with steady flow and no problems. I hope I can get back to that, sometimes I feel my muscles will just always be this way.

I'm going to order Cathe's Yoga Max today. That one is more advanced but I'm hoping to progress to that in a few weeks.

If it doesn't rain (which I hope it does because we need it badly) I will go up to the park on my motorcycle and walk the trails. DH bought me a stun gun so I can go without being afraid of getting attacked. You just never know anymore. I hope I can go.

Chris - I think a change is necessary. I might start doing circuit or just total bodies for while. I will not be lifting heavy anymore for some time if ever again. I'm not even sure lifting is the problem, but it has to be part of it. I'm feeling so much better with my entire body right now just doing yoga and stretching, it is amazing. We'll see how it goes and then I'll decide what route to go with lifting. Hope you have a great vacation!

Nora - Thank you for your kind words! You always make me feel like I am choosing the right options. Sometimes I'm not so sure!

Roxie - Wow, you sessions went fast. But now you have a foundation to work with when you don't have the trainer anymore. I'm glad you are enjoying it!

Belinda - I'm not sure about the new series yet. I haven't even read much about it. So the answer is no as of right now. :)

Tonite is a session with the PT and then more cleaning at DDs house so they can start moving this weekend. I don't know if its the heat or hormones but I have been so tired lately I can't seem to get up in the mornings and I fall asleep watching t.v. at 8.

Debbie-enjoy your yoga for a while until your body is ready for more and thank you for the support.

Belinda-its suppose to be 104 here today not a good day to do anything.

Today was Plyo Legs (did the first one, Disc 29) and then did Abs Circuits No Equipment Abs. Plyo legs was "fun"! Haven't done that in a while!! I'm almost thinking I might sub for To The Max tomorrow. So much impact..

Nora, do you think Athletic Training or Afterburn would be a good sub for that one?

Debbie: Actually, there are alot of people that have wicked toned and muscular bodies from Yoga. JUST yoga. You could always pull out Yoga X from P90X if you wanted to be challenged. You don't have to do the whole thing. The ride and walk sound great today!!

Nora: Nice job yesterday with Athletic training and Med Ball abs. That is my favorite ab circuit workout, i think!! There are low impact premixes for TTM and CF, too, right? I love the premix options!!

Roxie: Holy crap! that is HOT at a gym. You make it sound less and less appealing when you describe it like that!! Blech! :p But the differnt classes sound fun. Do they have body combat classes? I would love to try one!

Belinda: LOVE B&G!!! Are you walking funny today?!?!?
 
Chris-this gym has alot of classes going on all day long and there is a body combat class, I don't do the classes like I use to because some of them I want to do start later then I want.

Good Morning,

Last nights session with PT was a toughie and I imagine tonites won't be much better. She is going to be out of town next week but she is writing up some workouts for me to do on my own and I am sure those will be toughies too.

Sorry for not checking back in again yesterday:( I was on the phone, FB most off the day:eek::(:confused: didn't get much done at all. Chatted with an old school friend on FB, she lives in Ga for the last 25 years. Lot's to catch up on:eek: Late afternoon the storm rolled around, my dog was so scared..he was clued to my leg:eek::confused: no kidding!! So I called it a day at this point:D

So this morning my elliptical arrived, it took those guys 3 1/2 hours to put it together. Parts were missing/broken. The iFit didn't came with an access code. Those guys were amazing, they didn't wanted to leave without me having using the elliptical. They drove to Home Depot and bought screws which were missing (they are the wrong onces, but it's working):D I mean, I can use the elliptical, but we have to have a tech come out and fix the rest.


In awhile I will do the elliptical and check it out:eek:

Debbie - glad all that stretching is helping. I want the new series, but thinking ....do I really need another weight training series:eek: What is wrong with me? I can't make up my mind:eek: BTW, how is your mom doing?

Chris - good job on your leg workout. I still never did any of the Plyo Legs workouts. Can't decite what rotation I will do next week either:eek: maybe I will do 2 legs/1 circuit/2 cardio a week? And just do whatever dvd I am in the mood for for that day:eek:

Roxie - sounds like you have a tough trainer, which is good. Enjoy tonight. How is your DD doing?

Belinda-dd is doing fine but she will be much better when they get into thier new house and get some of the stress off.

I just finished today's workout and with the heat its making me feel a little wobbly because of fatigue and heat sensitivity. So, I'll just check in quickly then go cool off.

Ok that's it for me today, I'm feeling like superman exposed to kryptonite. Actually, that is a very good description of what heat does to someone with MS, and the only way to correct that is getting cool by drinking ice water, or being in AC this will allow for time to revive and reanimate after that. Great workouts today ladies and keep up the good work. Congrats on Belinda's eliptical arriving.

Good Evening,

Again the PT kicked my ass, I thought I was almost done with her but she says we have at least a month left. Its hot again here today. I gained another pound up to 130 but my bf% has gone down again to 27.5 I just don't understand how it works.

Nora-take care of yourself.
 
Wasn't able to ride to the park or walk that day. It was so hot and humid, it's not even fun riding when it's that damn hot out. We look forward to summer all winter and then we get this crap. I feel like it's winter because all I've been doing is staying in where there is A/C. Very annoying.

Anyways, yesterday I got on my treadmill and did a fast walk on a 4% incline for 40 minutes. Then I did the band stretch from Stretch Max.

I had a knot in my shoulder blade again yesterday. Not sure why this just won't heal and go away. Very frustrating. At least it isn't painful, I only feel it when I press on it.

Today I think I'll take a day off. Tomorrow I will do yoga or stretch.

Chris - I have heard that you can have a muscular/toned body with just yoga alone, not sure if I believe it or not. I have always been an advocate of weight lifting as you all know. We'll see. I do love doing it and it feels so good when I'm done. Maybe this will be my next fitness adventure.

Belinda - My mom is doing great, thanks for asking! Her eye site is slowly diminishing but so far she is still driving :eek: and can still do all the things she loves.

I have had a busy morning. Tonite I will go to the gym and do some kind of cardio, what I really want to do is go home and do some KBXing to take out some frustration.

Debbie-I really think you need to have your shoulder looked at. It is horribly hot here to, I am now wishing for winter and that has never happened.

Today was Gym Style Chest and Triceps. OMG, those dropset push-ups. :eek:

Other than that, it's cool and rainy here, which is a HUGE change from what we've been having. I should enjoy it, but I swear, the clouds depress me.

Nora: Ohhhh Superman vs. Kryptonite = no good!!! Rest and cool down!!!

Debbie: Have you ever seen Adam Levine from Maroon 5? His body is from yoga. Oh my!.... Good job getting on the TM and stretching! so good for you!

Belinda: Hope the Elliptical is all fixed. Did you like it? I've never been on one!

I just finished today's workout after an especially stressful doctor's appointment today. Anywho, I'll just check in now.

Here's today's workout:

To The Max = 54 Min
Met Value= 9.0
Calories burned= 664

Ok, this was my first time doing the entire TO THE MAX dvd workout without any premixes. It was killer fun and tough. I do have to admit that I only used two risers each side because of my knees. Although better,but still a little sore from Insanity and healing so I modified to make it easier on the knees. I have to say after having done both TO THE MAX and CROSSFIRE dvds without any premixes in their entirety. In my opinion TO THE MAX was harder, still fun but definitely just ever so slightly harder. I think the Tabata section in TTM has a slight edge.

Chris- You are so right about GS Chest and Triceps and the drop sets pushups just about kill me everytime. I swear my wrist just quit working on me in protest after a while. Great job on your workout!;)

Debbie- Yes I so feel your pain about the heat I hate hot weather, it incapacitates me as I mentioned it before hot weather is my kryptonite. So, I understand not being thrilled about staying inside where the AC is just so you can feel somewhat normal. I hope it get cooler where you are so its more comfortable and you can go outside enjoy summer and ride your awesome bike. Take care and be careful with your shoulder, sorry its still an issue, but glad there is less pain.

Did Yoga Stretch today and I feel pretty good. Me and my dh are planning a motorcycle ride today so that should be fun. Perfect weather for it finally - 81 and no humidity. Tomorrow it's suppose to be back in the 90's though.

Chris - No, I don't think I've ever noticed the dude from Maroon 5. I'll have to check it out.
