Kundalini Yoga-Lose Weight Feel Great DVD (90m) is what I did this morning.

I got a c/b for a second interview for the Law Firm job! I go tmrw at 11:30! Have to reschedule the internship meeting at the gym b/c of it and it's a bit of a bummer but not the end of the world. I'll live. ;)

Hello again ladies !

Back to report that after a "sucky" weekend I have had the most enjoyable, envigorating, revitalizing day.

Workout done, check, hair washed, check, laundry washed, check, car serviced, check, necessary work emails/calls made, check, soaking in the 70' sun and some "work reading" finished, check. I'm feeling great after all that !

On my schedule for the remainder of the day: fold laundry, clean the floors and possibly get a short cardio in before DH gets home. We'll see how much more I can accomplish. Thinking this warm sun is the answer after so much rain and cold weather for a CA girl ! :p

TG - glad you are feeling better and slowly resuming your workouts. It is so hard to go "full bore" when you have been under the weather for more than a day or two. Hope all gets better as the days go by . . .

Wendy - thanks for the well wishes. I so hate sitting around and especially for an ENTIRE weekend. Goes against my "grain" for sure. Crossing my fingers for your interview tomorrow. Don't be nervous about interviewing with the boss . . . easy to say I know . . . but rehearse your answers - most likely to similar questions you were just asked. Be careful of your answers to what you are looking for (meaning your PT career) and try to show that you would be the committed employee you are. You might say that you are looking for FT work and a great company and that fitness is your "hobby". From there it might just "happen" to work out to be your career . . . After all, who knows what will happen, especially if the right opportunity came along. I NEVER figured I would be in HR but here I am and, most of the time, I enjoy it ! :D

Diana - Sorry you had to work when everyone else was at home. :( That is always a bummer. And I'm with you in seeing the scale go up or even maintain after not eating much and being sick. I think sometimes even the sodium in soup and the fact that you are not doing anything but laying around has alot to do with it in addition to your metabolism being "keen" to the fact that you are not burning many calories and not eating much? Works for me at least. I usually find that after I get back to my usual schedule of eating and exercising that things return to "normal" for me. Your class tonight should help get things going back on track. Also, maybe think about your measurements rather than the scale at this point since reducing body fat BUT adding muscle probably won't make the scale change too drastically. ;)

I enjoyed watching last night . . . feels like forever since there was hockey. I am disappointed there was a strike but wonder if it was all of the players. After all, how many of them really wanted to leave home to play overseas just to keep in shape in case the season started up. I believe it was only a few who create that issue and optomistic me hopes it wasn't many of "my guys". We'll see on Thurs (1st home game) what the crowd thinks. Was a pretty good showing when the San Francisco Bulls came down to play in our arena a month ago - so many attended and even wore their Sharks jerseys. We have a very dedicated fan base for sure !

Hey Girls

Busy day today. DH took our friend who drove our car here, to the airport today. It was an all day affair. He's still not home.

I had a nice baby group this morning. The ladies were nice that I met with. I never met them before but just showed up at their house with the baby...so not like me. I would have never did that if I were home. But that's the only say your gonna meet people and these women were in the same boat at one point in time.

After that I got my workout in. I did 25 mins on the TM followed by hard strikes. HS was pretty good. Wasn't super though or anything...even after doing 25 mins on the TM. My plan was to do legs after that but the baby woke up. Then at 4 I had my interview. It went really well. The salary is $14/hr. I don't know if there's room for growth or not but every company usually has a probationary period, she didn't mention that. I met with her for over an hour and only 30 of it was actually work talk. The rest was life stuff.... She didn't ask me any questions. Just told me about the position. Seems like something that would be pretty good fit for me. She was interviewing people all day. She wants me to come in on wed for a couple hours just to get a feel for it and see if its something I'd enjoy. In the meantime, I don't know if that means the position is mine if I want it. I don't know how many more girls she has coming in. The other job I had applied on gets paid monthly so I have a feeling the pay wouldn't be that much different starting out and it would be a lot less crap to deal with IMO.

Wendy** I don't know if we need first aid either but the two courses go together in Canada. You do both at the same time. Sounds promising on the job front. Maybe you'll have a job before me...keep the hissy fits away:p

Jacque** well...sat was a rest day so I had to make up for it yesterday. I've tried almost every workout now ex for ride and legs I think. Kickboxing isn't one of my fav workout but I do like doing punching combos. I think my arms will be sore tomorrow. I'm enjoying the series but I don't know if I will do a rotation or not. Everyone is complaining about weight gain with heavy weights but I use to use heavy weights before. I wish the sun was shining on me!!!! It was -25 here today.

Diana** hopefully the number on the scale will be better in the morning. What goes up must come down, right? Lol. If only it were that simple. I'm sure your pants look good on you. I don't have the issues your talking about. My mother and sister have the hips and the little waist...while I have no hips!

TG** sorry to hear you weren't feeling well this weekend. Sounds like your on the mend though.

Jacque:: So glad you were able to make up for your weekend with a productive day y'day!!! I don't have to worry about telling this Law Firm that PT'ing is only a "hobby" b/c I don't plan on mentioning it AT ALL! :p

Lori:: So what's the position you interviewed for then? I can't keep up with you! :p The lady at the Law Firm that interviewed me didn't really ask me any questions either. Wierd. Hopefully her boss doesn't today either coz that's when I get nervous! :confused::rolleyes: No hissy fits here, girl! LOL I hope you get a job right away! Not your fault that Canada's economy isn't collapsing like the USA's is!:rolleyes:

Happy Tuesday Ladies !

I did end up doing 4DS High Intensity step y'day afternoon and my legs were very tired. Still tired this AM when I did Hard Strikes. I'm switching up this week to keep on track with the 90 rotation. Ended up skipping HS and HiiT from last week but kept the weights. Not sure if I'll be doubling up one day as I'll be traveling early AM to our other site on Thurs and then come home to the first hockey game. Not much time left to workout that day for me. Will most likely be a little too tired Fri AM for a workout unless I sleep on the way home from the game. Hmmmmm . . .

Lori - good to hear the baby group went well ! That sure helps find others to have play dates with and meet new Moms with children similar in age. Hope you end up with one of your prospective jobs . . . sounds like either will be decent $ for you.

Wendy - enjoy your yoga . . . that is something I enjoy AFTER I am done as I tend to get bored and am not very limber so it is kinda hard for me but so "stretching" and "toning". I really should do it more often. Even once a year would be more often!:eek: :rolleyes:

Diana - how was class last night? Did you like your new shoes?

Laura - good weekend for you?

TG - feeling well enough to get in a full workout yet?

Just heard we are going back to the 60's starting tomorrow with rain on the weekend. UGH . . . I have a 3 day class Sun, Mon & Tues - guess it will be raining. :confused:

Hi Ladies,

I had crappy nights sleep.:mad: I was awake until after midnight and then tossing and turning, couldn't breathe. I'm exhausted this morning. DH, Jerod, and Zach are all sick so trying to stay healthy may impossible in this house.

This morning is Xtrain Legs. My legs are a little sore from class last night. We did 4 circuits where each circuit consisted of running 7 or 8 stairs, 25 pushups, 25 dips, 25 sit ups/hover, 25 (legs) either squats, lunges, squat with side leg lift, lunge with rear leg lift.

Wendy-I'm always interested in something that will help my lower body or lift my booty.:D Enjoy your week of yoga, I know you've been missing it. Good luck on the law firm position. It may not be your first choice, but it could be very beneficial when purchasing a new house. The girl that cuts my hair is also a Core Power yoga instructor. Because she's basically self employed, she said she has to go through so much paper work to get loans for cars, her mortgage etc.

Lori-Glad you are getting out and about and meeting some people! One of my running pals wants me to join a running group with her. I participated in a running club before and really enjoyed it. This one would be local so it may be doable. Loved your comment, just waiting for it to come down now.:cool:

Jacque-glad you had a wonderful day. You must feel so accomplished, and with good reason. Oh, I think our temps will be in the 60's this week.

TG-sorry you were under the weather. It sounds like you are on the mend now. Which rotation are you starting over? Xtrain? Combat? Other?

Laura-you must've had the day off too and done something fun which is why we haven't heard from you. Hoping that's the case anyway.

Jacque:: Great job making the rotation work with your schedule.As Tony Horton would say...Do your best and forget the rest! ;) Let me give you a hint...you won't be flexible unless you stretch alot and/or do yoga and doing yoga and/or stretching won't get any easier unless you are more flexible! :p

Good Morning:)

We slept until 7:30 again this morning...it's nice but there's no computer time in the morning until the kids are out the door and then of course, I started making beds, ironing (which I HATE) and tiding up.

I think today I am going to try ride and legs...then I will have done all of the DVDs. Not sure if I will turn it into a rotation or not and if I do, it will be my own rotation. Because the GS series is my favorite, I would incorporate the two. Esp when I start back at work. It will most likely be one body part a day and 30 mins of cardio or what not.

Wendy** good luck! I bet your sitting in that seat charming them right now. My interview was a little odd, which makes me think that this lady is easy to work for. She brought up google maps and we looked at that for a while...showing her where I'm from b/c her neighbour is from the same area. Then we started chatting and the natives...etc...Before I leave on wed I am going to ask her if that's the starting wage and if there is room for growth. Most places have a probationary period but she didn't mention that.

Diana** good workout last night? Do you go alone or do you have friends that go with you? To bad we didn't live closer :)...but you wouldn't want to live in all this snow and cold! Lol Are you coming down with the cold? Or you've had it for a while. I'm glad the baby will be going to a in home child care spot cause there won't be as many germs this way! Just wished she lived closer!

Jacque** the last two interviews I had, the money was pretty good. I can't be to choosy cause its not as if I have schooling behind me to do any of these jobs. I know people luck into jobs here that pay really well with the oil field but I don't think they are hiring right now. You have another busy week ahead of you. Hopefully you can get those workouts in!

Hi Ladies,

This afternoon was part 2 of the diabetes nutrition class. It was really informative and I learned a lot! I'm going to track on fitday for a bit to see what my macronutrients are and see how I rank with I should be doing, well really what DH should be doing.

My house is like a sickhouse, been that way since Jerod had whooping cough in October. He's really been struggling to get better. Now he's knocked down with a cold that DH and Zach have picked up. Hopefully it doesn't come around to me. Usually my colds are short lived though. It's the rest of the family that is sick for much longer.

Wendy-congrats on the new job!!! You deserve it! Hope it doesn't interfere too much with your internship. I do like that you are interning with more than one gym and more than one trainer, more perspectives to learn from. I wish we could figure out how to get by on one income and save the other. You are so much better off, something we need to work on. Perhaps if some of these kids would move out we could increase our savings and cut our spending.:D

Lori-what was the position you interviewed today for? I can't keep up. I'm a fan of the GS series also. It's usually the same cast of characters in our class, but each session does attract a few new people. We all encourage each other and push each other, it makes for some great workouts.

Jacque-its the Avs home opener tonight. Not sure if we will be watching it or not. I had to order my shoes since they didn't have my size in the store. They should be delivered by the end of the week.

Well thanks to a thread on the OD, I've been enabled into purchasing a new hair dryer. :rolleyes: I have wanted to invest in a good one since I started wearing my hair straight and got my hands on a Chi Flat Iron but I just never did it. I had always thought when I pulled the trigger that the hair dryer would be made by Chi too but I think I will give this one a try. The brand gets great reviews and is mentioned on the thread as being a great brand as well! My ebaying will be funding the purchase! Gotta love it! :)

Oh and my Ebaying has also funded the purchase of a great deal on Turbo Fire! I ordered it this morning. :) Also just placed a bid on a Vera Bradley soft sunglass case for Coach Sunglasses DH bought me for Christmas! :D They came with a hard case but it's too big to put in any of my purses! :rolleyes: I LOVE EBAY!!!!! :D And my DH too! ;)

Diana:: My colds don't last as long as my family's either. I attribute it to the vit c and/or airborne that I take. It definitely shortens the life span usually to about 3 days instead of a week! We are definitely "lucky" to be able to handle finances the way that we do and the only reason is because we bought BELOW our means instead of ABOVE or even AT our means when we purchased this house. Our mortgage and taxes is not even $1100 per month! It's awesome! But OTOH we don't live in a nice town and the house is not what you call BIG by any means. It's also lacking many things that we didn't think to consider when we decided to purchase. I'm not sure how the finances will work out when we buy our next house but by keeping my income off the mortgage application, we are giving ourselves a chance to possibly create the same situation. We may have to use HIS salary to pay bils and bank MINE with the next house, but either way, it's a good thing if we can do it! :) Oh and btw, yes, 3 kids can put a damper on your wallet for sure! Hang in there. They are boys. They shouldn't take too long to fly the coop! :D I, OTOH, lived with my mom until I was 30! :rolleyes: LOL I was self sufficient though and paid her rent so it was ok. Just didn't make sense for me to leave! :p

Diana - sorry about your lack of sleep . . . hope tonight you can breathe better. I imagine your legs will be good and sore after back to back PM then AM leg workouts ! Mine are sore today from Legs, then step and even some leg toning with HS. Glad to hear it was a good class. And that the nutrition class was informative. I like fitday for tracking nutritional values . . . helps me make sure to eat enough protein and keep the carbs down a little. Hope everyone else at home gets better soon - I rarely get sick, finally got a cold a few weeks ago after a couple years without one but it did stick around for a week. That is what happens when I don't exercise and eat right ! I know better . . . :eek:

Lori - Nice you were able to sleep in . . . did you get your long list of workouts in today? ;) I like GS too but also like the Burn Sets in this program. Since I have lost muscle mass it has been harder for me to work them to the point of soreness but working lots of reps with semi-heavy weight and going to failure worked well last week. Reminds me a bit of STS which left me sore constantly. Hope your interview goes well . . .

Wendy - WOO HOO on the job girl ! Way to go ! LOL about your hints on flexibility ! :p I know I know and stretching has not been at the top of my list for a while. I seem to always be thinking of what I could be doing BUT need to treat myself right and realize it is just necessary to round out my fitness regime, right? ;) Small adjustment is what my resolution was at the beginning of the year so first is consistency with exercise and FORUMS ! :)p), then I'll start adding yoga/stretching. Somewhere in there will be "challenges". <<< I know I can, I know I can, I know I can > > > Now I need to "just do it" ! And glad to hear you haven't stopped shopping or sellling !

HI Girls:)

Today's workout was as planned. I did Ride and Legs. My legs really felt it after doing Ride. I liked how the dvd had the time of each section in the corner. I think it made the workout shorter. Or it could have been b/c DH was talking to me...or I was texting off and on:p.

I'm kind of getting excited about tomorrow mornings work visit. It will be nice to get in there and feel the place out. I also came up with a brilliant plan! She said I could take my lunch break whenever I wanted, as long as it worked in with everyone else schedule. Well, I think on the days when DH is working, I am going to take my lunch breaks around 3:15 so I can pick the kids up from school, the sitters and take them home. Then DD can watch them. That's of course, if I have the job!

Wendy** Yay!! So excited for you. That didn't take long. Did they tell you right away or did they interview someone else too? And now you've went on bit of a shopping spree!:p My hair dryer is giving out too. Maybe Ill have a look see!

Diana** Well....hopefully you won't catch the bug as bad anyway. I wouldn't expect you or anyone else to remember what I've applied on...I don't even know myself! But I know one thing, going around and actually dropping off resumes made a word of difference. I applied on line to a lot of places and didn't hear anything but I heard from most of the places I hand delivered my resume.

Jacque** I think Im going to sit down and come up with a rotation using both series. I might do that shortly actually. The kids are in bed and its only 8 a.m. It will give me some idea of what I'm gonna do tomorrow.

Happy Hump Day Ladies !

Well Burn Sets CBS is done and I am having a hard time typing. Boy that one just kills me . . . :p Love it !

Getting a little tendonitis in my patellar tendon. :confused: Icing it now. Doesn't hurt when I walk around but comes to life when I am working out. HS y'day really brought it out with all the hopping. Haven't had this since JC and it was really bad back then. Will behave and take care of it when doing my cardio.

Lori - Great job getting your workouts in y'day. Good plan with your lunch break . . . that's exactly what I used to do when I worked in town with kids in school. Hope your day goes well !

This is kinda weird feeling . . . heat on the lower back and my knee freezing. Poor bod doesn't know what to think! :eek:

Looks like I'll be doing tomorrow's w/o tonight.

Hi Ladies,

I have a yucky tummy this morning from over eating yesterday. I skipped lunch to get the diabetic nutrition class and totally over ate when I got home because I was starving. The nutrition stresses the importance of not skipping meals, especially for diabetics. Epic Fail on my part. I'v prepared my breakfasts and lunch for the rest of the week.

My best gf from high school let me know her mom passed away. I've known her and her mom since elementary school. I think she was 87 but it's sad just the same. The funeral is Friday.

Jacque-sorry you re-injured your knee, booh. I'm having some knee issue also. It feels like the LCL (lateral collateral ligament) injury from a couple years ago.

Wendy-My Z dvd's are in my town so they should be delivered today. Amanda's are finally in Washington. She should probably get hers tomorrow or so. You'll have to let me know if the new blow dryer is worth the $$. Our 20+ yr old blow dry just quit working and I replaced it with a $30 one.:D

Lori-I did the same thing...picked up 1 kid, took him home and returned to work. Hope this position works out for you!

Laura-are you on vaca???

TG-are you over your illness and back to your w/o's? Hope you are feeling better.

Good Morning....

Sitting here, a bit sleep deprived, ready and waiting to head to an appointment for my training internship. I slept fine until about 3am when I got up to pee and then that was all she wrote except for dozing off for a few minutes here and there. :(

This morning I did BBL Bum Bum (the intensity of this work out surprises me every time I do it!), 50 body weight walking lunges, 20 push ups, 40 firewalkers with a medium tension loop and 60 stability ball inner thigh squeezes. I didn't want to take another rest day and if I was going to put forth the effort to do a work out today, I wanted it to be more then yoga! Not sure I will fit in a work out tmrw anyway so I'll definitely be glad for this one in that case. I am planning for yoga again on Friday though! :)

Diana:: Sorry about the tummy monkeys. They aren't fun. Glad your Z work outs are finally close by! I will definitely give you my thoughts on the hair dryer! My Chi flat iron was costly but worth every penny so I am hoping that a costy hair dyer will yield the same result!!!

Jacque:: I understand...baby steps!;) It's all good! :) Sorry about your wonkey knee. I hate that. Hope it's better soon!

Lori:: Enjoy your trial run at the job. Does this mean that if you like it you are definitely hired??? Coz if not, I wouldn't even go! Great job with the double whammy work out for the legs!

well SUN night I got an ffffn migrain :mad: sooooo my off day was spent in pain - called in ystdy - feeling a bit better today - needless to say no workout MON or TUE .. at least I got one in SUN before the pain hit!!! hoping to feel ok enough to do SOMETHING today .. :(.. I go to DR tmrw to discuss my chronic migraines and eye problems .. plus gonna ask him about this stupid cough that wont go away!! :mad:

Wendy - CONGRATS on the job .. wooohoooo ... the internship does it start today?

Lori - and good luck on your PRE-possible-job today ... hope it is a good fit for you!

Jacque - I wish I was on vaca doing seomthing fun :( but alas my stupid barely working eyes and head had other plans for me! My workout SUN the 45 min Combat .. really did a number on my shoulders .. I could feel my bad one doing it!!

Di - booooooo on the tummy problems - feel better!!! ironic that your lesson was about not skipping meals and you ended up doing exactly that .. lesson learned huh?

I got back from my apptmnt around 12:30. The guy I met with was quite the talker! LOL Anyway, it went well and I will go back on Friday to meet with him at 9:30am to get a couple hours of interning under my belt. :D Now let's see how long it takes for the other two to get me started! :rolleyes:

Laura:: So sorry you felt crappy Sunday. Hope the doc can help you get your issues under control. Yeah, Combat is definitely shoulder intensive so be careful!

Ok, I ate lunch and now I desperately need a nap and IDC if Lori makes fun of me for it either!:p:p:p

Just checking in to say hello, haven’t worked out since I did the slow steady jog:eek: Not because I did not want to…..because I still wasn’t well, I kept with the cold and flu medication This morning, I wake up feeling the best I had been since I gotten sick. My cough is much better.

Tomorrow its on! :) Yep! See you tomorrow;)

Hey Girls:)

No workout to report yet. We spent the afternoon looking around and then it was time to get dinner. I will be working out when the baby goes to bed though.

The job thing was pretty good today. I went to leave at 11 and she asked if I was going for lunch:confused:. She only told me to come in for a couple of hours to see if I liked it...not stay the whole day and I had no plans on staying there the whole day and not get paid for it. I spoke to her just before I left and she had someone else in yesterday doing the same thing. She said she has a lot of good candidates for the job. So here's the other thing....last night we discovered that the energy centre is hiring a fitness monitor. I emailed the girl that I spoke to about working there doing PT and she said I was over qualified but she still thought it would work. I'd be in my element AND it pays more then the car dealership...not by much but .91. So I would be working at a gym but could still PT there when I'm off. I don't think my mind would be racing as much. I have been all afternoon struggling with..do I take the job? Do I apply on the other job? Do I accept the dealership job and If I get the other one ditch it? But then I would feel bad even though I have to look out for number 1. There are also ways to make more money at the dealership b/c I can move up. Everyone there as started in that position. But I haven't received a phone call so I don't know what that means. Who knows, the other lady she had come in might have stayed all day yesterday but I wasn't about to. Why watch and learn all this stuff if you might not even have the job?

Diana** I get the same way if I get to hungry, I just eat everything in sight and that's not good. We eat more then our minds can keep up with and before we know it we are full. Sorry to hear about your friends mom...guess we will all go through that at some point. I remember in high school one of the girls in my class lost her dad to cancer. We all felt for her at the time but none of us really understood how horrible it was until we got older.

Laura** you and those darn headaches!! Geez....!!!

Wendy** are you excited about Monday morning? Will you do your workouts in the a.m or after work?? I hate having to wrap my mind around all of that now....

Jacque** how's the ole knee?? You girls are just falling apart on me:confused;). I'm surprised my knees haven't given out with all the running I've done.

We went to look for sneakers today and I couldn't believe how over priced they were. There were sneakers there that I owned a few years ago. You think they would have sold off the older styles. Instead they were still a fortune so I'm gonna wit till we go to sports check, or somewhere I can get a deal!
