CoNtRoL the DaMaGe in Aug!

Good Morning:)

Went to bed early last night but I played on the iPad for a while. I was looking for some good weight workouts but I couldnt really find anything. Most of what I found was circuit style workouts and I own enough of those. I found another Amy Bento one but it didn't look that tough.

My plan is a run outside today, it's raining right now. Hopefully it will clear up. I didn't bring any DVDs with me but my brother lives next door and they have a tm....not sure how good it is but I'll tell ya one thing...it's not worn out:rolleyes:

Im feeling a little sore all over today...I think AB did the trick plus I lifted everyday this week. I think a good stretch wouldn't go astray!

All by myself again today :p

Just got back from my run a little while ago and it was a good one. There are a lot of hills out here and I conquered them...no breaks, just kept on truck'in! I did 14k.

Should go do my hair before the baby wakes! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Hi Ladies...or Lori! You are not alone today....just been out and about today. Started off at the high school for a scrimmage, then went to visit my brother who has had a heart attack. I teased my sister saying I want to belong to a healthy family. Thankfully my brothers heart attack was minor....as far as heart attacks go. He is having surgery on the 27th, angioplasty and stents put in. He's only 4 yrs older than me.

I think Wendy comes back tomorrow and she'll probably put us all to shame...she probably exercised everyday while on her cruise.;)

Lori-looks like you are working out for the rest of us! Woo Hoo for tackling those hills without any breaks! I haven't done my hair in a couple of days either...ugh.

Good Morning

My worst fear came true last night...while we were getting settled, the baby woke up. Mostly b/c DS wouldn't keep his pie hole shut! I was so mad. He is so loud and for the life of me, he won't ever whisper. So it wasn't a great sleep. It was almost 12 before he fell back to sleep, then at 4 I woke to put him back in his bassinet and he was awake again at 6:30. Like I've said before....I'll survive!

I'm not sure if I will run this afternoon or take a rest day. I should rest but I should also take advantage of someone watching my kids so I can run.

Diana** my goodness...your family is falling apart!:confused:. I'm guessing you are the healthiest one out of all of them. Are you from a big family?

I will bbl if there is a workout to report!

We are back and we had a fantastic time!!!! Got home pretty early this morning.

I worked out 3x on the ship...

Monday - ITread 30 mins # 27 Drills
Tuesday - ITread 20 mins # 22 Hilly & Steady plus some legs and abs
Thursday - ITread 30 mins # 21 Run Intervals (20m of it) plus abs and upper body

That's all for now...gonna try to get my arse in gear for a work out of some sort and then for food shopping.

Good Morning Ladies,

I just completed a 15 mile bike ride. It was little chilly out when I started, but it was a great ride. I should do weights today but doubt that will happen.

Chores are on the agenda for today, laundry being at the top of the list, mowing the lawn and grocery shopping.

Lori-what a rough night you had. I don't know how you manage those runs on such little sleep. I would be a real BIT**! Yes, I do come from a big family, 2 brothers and 3 sisters! My oldest sister (she's 62) and my oldest brother (64) are probably the healthiest. My oldest sister was always very active and I get a lot of that from her. Interestingly enough, it was my younger sister who got me started on aerobics and now she is the one who never exercises and is overweight.

Wendy-How was the cruise???

Good Morning

Yesterday ended up being a rest day. I hung out at my parents waiting for the baby to take a nap but then it got to the point where it was kind of late cause I waited to drive during his 2nd nap...and he was putting his 1st nap off. So I packed the car up around 2:30 and we headed home. I had to put my things away, clean up and then went to my inlaws for dinner...we also booked our tickets for DS's graduation and that was a little time consuming. I had to book mine on airmiles and 4 other tickets through the airline website. Trying to make sure I had us all on the same flight was time consuming! So no workout but I was ok with that and I'm sure my body was too. So....I'm not sure exactly what I will do today. If slow and heavy shows up, I may start that this week.

I also preordered the new DVDs yesterday and I also ordered some more bands and the pure strength series. I wanted the ctx series for the weight work but $60 isn't worth it to me for just the weight work and I know I'm not going to use the cardio much.

Wendy** how was your vaca!? We missed you! I bet you had a awesome time!

Diana** well...some times I turn into a *itch at some point during the day! Lol. I've been pretty good lately though. I usually turn into a witch when im adjusting to a new routine and things aren't going right. Like when the girls started coming here all day long...not that they a bad either cause you couldn't ask for better behaved kids. It was probably just the fact of being tied down. But then I didn't have them the week I got back from visitng DH and I felt lost! Lol. They keep me on my toes when asking for things. I will enjoy it when everyone is back to school though...as heart breaking as it will be to send DS to school but I'm sure I'll quickly adjust to a quiet house:p

UGH!!!! I was just in the middle of a looong post about our vacation when my dumb computer decided to shut down to do updates!!! Really!?!? AARRGGHHH!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Ok, here's the Cliff Notes version!!!

I was too tired to go food shopping y'day and my work out was just 30 mins of Yoga X. It's all I could muster...

I gained 4.5# vacation...probably from alcohol consumption as I averaged 6-8 drinks every day! :eek: I am ready to fight back though with new batteries for my food scale, WW and a food shopping trip on the horizon!

We spent our days by the pool and our nights at the shows (saw one each night after dinner) and the bars.

Joey had a blast on vacation! He spent tons of times in the kids area. We usually only saw him for breakfast, lunch and couple hours of afternoon pool time! :D

In port we opted only to go to a few beaches and walk through some shops nearby to the ship. Actually spent one of the days onboard appreciating all of the room there was poolside b/c everyone was on the island!

Ok, that's all for now...not sure what's on the work out agenda for today. Trying to decide if I want to resume the rotation I was doing prior to leaving or if I want to change it up...decisions decisions!:p

Hi Ladies,

I have a bad belly this morning from eating too much junk over the weekend.:mad: I know better. We have tons of zucchini from friends and family. We've been baking and grilling it but then I decided to make bread too. We have a couple loaves with coconut and a couple more with chocolate chips and nuts. My body puffs up when I eat too much bread or what I call "crappy carbs". Hopefully the bread will be gone in the next few days or they can be given away or frozen.

Today will be Legs & Back at the rec ctr and bootcamp class tonight. My intention was to run 3-5 miles this morning but I feel yucky.

Wendy-Glad you had a great time! When does Joey start school? Jerod goes back tomorrow. I'm back on the WW band wagon too. What kind of food scale do you have?

Lori-I'm sure you were more than due for a rest day! You reminded me of the CTX UB split that I use to enjoy so much. May be time to pull that out again. It is kind of expensive if you only want the weight work. When is DH's graduation? I'm sure it's not soon enough for you!:p

sorry I have been MIA .. I took VACA FRI - DH and I decided to get away .. and we did .. had a blast .. and was able to unwind and relax!! :) but TOO much bad food and alcholol was consumed .. I feel like a blown up piglet today .. back to reality! I did manage a HOT 4 mile run before we left - it was muggy - the air was thick - miserable - the temp was 96 .. but w/no sun .. so I thought I would try it .. my sanity needed some outdoor space .. but yikes it was hard hot 4 miles~ and I had to walk a lot of it ... I was drenched !!

Lori - great workouts .. I have GOT to get back to my regular weighted workouts ..

Di - do you still have the girls?? great bike ride!!

Wendy - vaca sounds awesome ... cant wait to see the pics -

Hey Girls

My workout was long but I still need to get a good cardio workout in today. I did S&H shoul,bic,back and tris and after each body part I switched to HR for the same body parts. I should be good and sore tomorrow! I also lifted a fair bit heavier then cathe suggested or used herself.

Disna** I probably ate to much at my parents house this weekend too. She usually has tons of baked goods on the go but her Christmas leftover cookies are just that now....left overs and I don't want them! I'm going out next week for longer b/c my inlaws are going on vaca and I don't have the girls. I'll have to be good while I'm there! I haven't figured out what I will do about my weight workouts

Wendy**. I sent you a pm. Hate when I lose post. I bet Joey had a awesome time! Can't wait to see pics!

Laura** hope you enjoyed your weekend get away with DH. I am starting to love weights more then cardio but I love sweating with cardio...so I have to get both in:p

Ok, after tons of stalling I finally picked and did a work out!

KPC/L&G Kickbox and Strength Circuit + Abs (61 mins)

YEOWZERS! I sure know how to pick the "good" ones!!!:eek: LOL :p

Time to shower and get moving. Been online looking at jobs all morning so I've gotten nothing else done so far...:rolleyes:

Hi Ladies,

I ended up doing the BR w/o this morning and the ab w/o too. Legs/Back and weighted core work were done at the rec ctr at lunch. Somehow I hurt my quad....it hurtes when I walk. I'm hoping bootcamp will workout the soreness and not make it worse.

Laura-glad you finally got to relax a bit, you need it! Yep, we have the girls for 2 more weeks. They leave on my birthday, Sept 1st. We are taking them to the condo with us next week. The bike ride was great...got started before the heat and didn' have too much traffic to deal with either.

Wendy-I haven't done that premix in years! It sounds like its back to reality. I guess with Joey going back to school your back on the job search too. Hope you find something you like soon.

Lori-OMG, you will be sore tomorrow for sure. Isn't nice when we do some of the older w/o's and we are lifting heavier than Cathe!:D

Good Morning

Not a very nice day here again today...it's foggy and misty rain. Hopefully the kids won't drive me nuts.

I also went for a run yesterday evening. My sil was making dinner and while she was cooking, I ran. I was debating going before or after but when I found out she was making pasta then I figured I should go before cause dinner would have been pretty heavy.

Today's workout is gonna be abs, cardio and S&H chest and maybe legs.

Wendy** that's another DVD I would like to have. I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for a sale. Although I should have ordered it when I preordered xtrain, at least I would have gotten free shipping.

Diana** it seems like I always lift heavier these days but I'm sure cathe could out lift me any day:eek:. I know I could lift heavier if I had someone spotting me. Maybe DH will be my spotter when he comes home. If he keeps working out maybe he will want to buy some equipment:D

I am sore from yesterday's workout. Not as bad as I thought though but I think it's going to get worse yet. My tris and back are the worst.

I will bbl to report my workout....must go pay some bills!

Morning Ladies,

My legs are so sore this morning! My body definitely needs this weight training though, its way to soft for my liking. If I decide to do another triathlon I'll definitely need to come up with a rotation that incorporates weight training, even if its just 2 full body w/o's per week.

Our bootcamp instructor has kicked our training into high gear. We've been doing tons of running, burpees, pushups, jump lunges etc. I used to be in the middle of the pack but lately I've been near the back....and I don't like that.

I may do a BR w/o this morning as nothing is really striking my fancy today. My lunch w/o will be Chest & Triceps at the rec ctr today.

Lori-I've often wondered how you can run after dinner. I get a bad belly if I eat first. Glad you got your w/o in before that pasta dinner.

Morning Ladies - TUE

DOMS: BIS .. eeeouch!! and some into my legs -from heavy weights at lunch .. there was an OLD @$$0 in there slamming weights around .. jerking them around.. think he got mad at me for getting on the quad machine .. guess he thought I should have read his mind .. there is no sense in acting like a JERK like he did!! I wouldnt even call what he did working out .. doing reps fast and jerky .. no full movements ... just and @$$!!!!! :mad: I went for a run after work .. the weather was 86 .. coolest temps we have had in some time - 3 .5 miles in about 35 minutes (warmup and cool down included) .. I felt strong .. but legs were heavy from the lunch workout ..

Lori - you should be sore from your workouts ystdy .. yowza!!!

Di - what are your temps there? we are to actually be into the upper 60's tonight .. OMG .. that gives me fall fever .. this is one year I cant wait for it to get cooler!!! DH says he thinks we will have early fall .. I SURE HOPE SO!!

Wendy - how is the job search going??? Has Joey started back to school yet??? I know you enjoyed spending the summer w/him ...

OK .. so today (pay attention Wendy) .. YOGA at lunch :eek::eek: .. me and SIL gonna meet and do yoga .. then tonight willl be some sort of Cathe or Bob .. or Xfactor workout!!

yes me n sil did YOGA at lunch .. we both agreed it makes us feel better .. and we both agree we have lost a LOT of flexibility .. as SIL said .. THATS EMBARRASSING .. LOL .. exactly how I feel .. pitifuL!
 
Hello and Good Afternoon Ladies...practically good evening at this point!:eek:

I have been out of it all day. :( I lost about 3 hours of sleep last night to tossing and turning from 3am to 6 and then fell back to sleep until 8 but still felt awful when I woke up. I got up and had to be up by my mom between 1030 and 11am b/c we had shopping/lunch plans. I didn't exercise this morning coz I didn't have it in me and have been home since 230 and haven't done anything but throw a load of laundry in. I took a nap but IDT it helped. I'm drinking coffee now to see if that perks me up. On top of just being tired and feeling zombie-ish I am extremely sore from y'day's work out. :eek:

I really think some yoga or something would help perk me up but I haven't successfully convinced myself to do it as of yet so it could be a rest day for me. Time will tell...:rolleyes:

Joey doesn't start school until after Labor Day so probably not until Septemeber 4th or 5th. The last week of his camp was last week when we were on vacation so I have home with me every day until school starts now...

On the job front, the only thing I've really found is that the local (and large) animal hospital close to me that I take my dog too is almost always looking to hire for various positions that don't necessarily require any schooling so I am going to try applying there. Diana, I think you said your sister is a veterinary assistant? Some places will do on the job training for that position so schooling isn't necessarily required. That's the job I am specifically going to try for but will consider anything they may have to offer. I am working on a cover letter so that I can email my resume over. It's driving me nuts coz I never think it's quite right so I keep changing it! :confused:

It only (ha ha) took until AFTER dinner for me to get motivated enough to do a work out. It also was not what I intended but it's something and far more then I was thinking I would end up doing so I'm happy enough...

Good Morning

I was so sleepy when I went to bed last night. It's a good thing I went to bed when I did cause when the baby woke at 2:30...there was already one boy in bed with me....not sure when he came out and then the baby joined us. It wasn't the best nights sleep...and now we are up at 6:30.

My chest is so sore from yesterday's workout. I did S&H and HR chest, HR abs, 30 mins on the TM and 30/30. I guess today will be legs and cardio. I don't know if I'll do a circuit style workout or S&H legs.

Yesterday wasn't such a bad day after all. It cleared up and it was hot out! We went out for dinner and while we were there it poured! We had a massive thunder storm and needless to say, my cloths that was on the line is still there. It's sunny again today though. I'm not sure what I will do with the kiddies today. I should take them somewhere or get together with some friends.

Diana** I use to keep my weight training up when I trained for marathons but then again all I had to do was run...not bike and swim. I love the way weights make me feel. I want to stay non jiggly for as long as I can...lol

Laura** what an a$$. I would have pranced around like I didn't even notice he was trying to throw his back out. That's the one thing about gyms I never got. Men grunting all the time. I never went to a gym cause I couldnt afford it at the time. Now I don't need to b/c I have what I need here. Nice job on getting that yoga in too. Lord knows I need a good stretch!

Wendy** looking for jobs can be a real pain. Something I will be doing in the future as we move from place to place.

So today I take on a old client again. She nagged me until I said yes. I really need to grow a backbone. I'll need my hard hat for this one. She's so high maintance.

I also saw an old high school friend at the restaurant we went to yesterday evening and I felt so bad for her. She was sitting alone with her 16m old waiting for their meal. She works at our insurance agency and I didn't know this until a couple of years ago. When we went to talk to her she was pregnant and so in love with her bf. I guess he didn't feel the same cause after she had the baby, he left her. So she goes to work everyday, picks up her son and heads to her apt by herself! And I thought I had it bad...at least this is short term for her. I told her to stop by sometime but it's hard for us to get together when both of our babies go to bed around 7:30. Her life seemed rather depressing. I don't think she has many friends around her either and her parents live about an hour away. No friends or family??? Doesn't sound good to me!
