Complications from my implant removal.

I'm really concerned about what is going on with my breast. I don't want to give out too much detail of my story because it is so very gross. It's a long journey and at this point my breast has a smell to it. I'm afraid I might lose it. Please send good vibes or prayers my way. This is really taking a toll on me and couldn't sleep at all last night. I'm seeing my Plastic Surgeon today and am trying to also get in to see my regular doctor for another opinion.

Janie,

I've been thinking about you a lot, wondering. I was afraid to ask how it went for you. I thought you would talk about it when you were ready. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I can imagine all the emotions you must be going through. ((hugs)) and prayers.

Are this complications from the lift or did you have silicone spill?

Cynthia,

When they took out the implants they were both broke. They were contained in the capsule the implants creates. Unfortunately (and this is rare) my nipple didn't get enough blood supply and died. My speculation was when I had my implants in, I had little feeling in that breast and I think the blood supply to my nipple went wrong at that time.

I think I know about when my implants broke. It was about 5 years ago. Things changed, for example: I could only take a small amount of a pill instead of a full dosage whether it was calcium, or pain medication or anything. I sometimes felt my heart racing, also felt drugged at times, meaning a metallic kind of taste. Things weren't the same. There were other symptoms, but I'm trying not to make this message too large.

Since the implants have been out, none of those symptoms exist anymore. So I believe the silicone was the culprit for not feeling well.

I'll let everyone know today what my doctors tell me. I sure hope for the best.

Unfortunately, I believe the "containment in the capsule" is a load of bull the doctor's tell women. Silicone begins to leech into the body the minute they are implanted.

Removing implants is far more complicated than implanting them. Too bad they don't warn women of these complications before implanting.:( I'm sure back when you were implanted, they told you they were a lifetime device.:mad::mad:

Janie,

I am sorry to hear about the complications. I am praying that thing go well today. I will keep you in my prayers. Please keep us posted.

Janie, I'm so sorry for all you're going through and I'm praying for a full and speedy recovery. Let us know what the doctors say.

Sending prayers, love and healing wishes. I hope it gets OK soon and that you dont have another anxious night.

Janie - I had been wondering about this too. Sending prayers and hugs your way. Please do keep us posted. Could it be an infection? My mom went through hell and back with her double mastectomy and subsequent attempts at implants. Sometimes I wonder about some doctors and the procedures used at hospitals. I hope that you are able to get on the mend very soon.
