Hey girls,

I walked the dogs this morning and did STS M3 D25 in the afternoon. I also did the Extended stretch;)

Cookie - how did you end up being a guest? That sounds like fun!

Kirstin - let's do that:) I will tell Alesia, she wants to go to the next RT. I still have my shirt from the RT:p Of course, we need to have a different shirt;) Glad you had fun yesterday.

Debbie - :eek::p:eek:! You know me to well;) Once I am done with M3, I will take a week or two off. My body needs a break. You ask me a few day's ago if I have internet when I travel. The answer is yes! Can't go without it.

Hey girls, the last two days have been two mile walks.

No news on my brother yet, the place they went the other day didn't take his insurance :mad:. I called him yesterday and it took everything I had not to cry, he keeps saying he doesn't want to die, remember he has schizophrenia and basically has the mind of a 15 year old.:(
My mom and dad separated years ago so they keep arguing about when and where to take him. Its been exhausting, really.

I'm sorry about the lack of personals lately...just got a lot on my mind right now. ((hugs)) and thanks for the support.:)
 
Hi,

I took a yoga class & ran sprints for about 15 min. I forgot my running shoes so didn't want to get injured before RT. I set-up DVD & step to try PS1 tomorrow morning.

It would be great if we could go to the RT next year & new tees!

Belinda - It would be hard not to have internet when we are so used to it. It looks like you will finish STS. I was wondering if Cathe will ever do STS2? I'm sure you would cave for that one:eek:

Kristin - It's nice that you could have the bbq & be stress free:) I wonder if it will get easier as the boys get older & your DH travels. Will you keep your pool up all winter or take it down?

Amelia - Don't worry about personals you are going thru so much. Kudos on getting walks in, hopefully it helps clear your mind.

Cookie - Do you have the workshop this year that you usually have before the RT? It sounds like you had a fun weekend! I'm trying to get caught up with housework before the trip:confused:

Belinda, my dh loves beer and he's gotten me into stouts and porters. I just like their tastes. Anyway, instead of learning more about wine, we've been learning more about beers by investigating (drinking), reading, and as an excuse for travel and something to check out when we do. Of course, I'm still loving wine. Let's all try to go next summer on the rt!
Amelia, my heart is breaking for you and your brother. Medical insurance is just crazy. Hope he gets seen quickly. How does this affect his other health issues? What are you doing to take care of yourself?
Kristin, hope you're time as single parent goes well. Glad the bbq went well. Interesting that so many of us in this check in have family members with mental health issues. Not that it makes it any easier but it does show in our compassion and understanding of how it affects our families. How does Baxter like the truck?
Deb, I was surprised you turned 50! Wow, I never guessed. You do look great. Yes, still doing the workshops before rt weekend. I need the money. This morning I clicked yes on a list of books I've been thinking about since last spring. OMG, I thought it would take me to another page, but it was the final button. Guess they already had my cc info. Oh well, sometimes I just over think things.
Did a virtual active this morning of Pacific NW - Seattle area. It was interesting to see where we had recently been. Today is eldest ds's 31st birthday. We'll meet him this evening and take him out to eat (probably pizza - again!)

Hey everyone! Just finished Crossfire less impact premix, plus 100 rep challenge, tricep lying extensions. I don't think I will be able to bend my arms for the rest of the day, lol. I also took Baxter for a walk this morning.

Yesterday we were in the pool during the afternoon, had an early dinner and then went to DS's baseball game. He hit a homerun, a triple, and then two singles. He was in his glory. Too cute.

Today we are going to my friend's house. She just got a pool put in and invited us for a swim. The weather has been beautiful this week so far. Loving this summer.

Cookie- it's so true. A few people I work with have a sibling with bipolar and we've had long discussions about it. It does help to talk about it, especially with people who have the same feelings. I feel less guilty when I talk to them and tell them how I just rather stay away. They get it. Others don't get it as much. Baxter hasn't been in the truck yet, lol.

Deb- The pool is a permanent one, so it will be up in the winter. We will have to winterize it and put a cover on it.

Belinda- :cool: Road Trip next year!!! Let's swear we are in! Lol.

I tried Party Step 2, I did better than 1 but still 2 left feet:confused: Kristin said the music was really good on this DVD and it was!!

It's not my birthday yet, don't want to rush it this year it's on Labor Day.

I'll have to let you all know how the new hotel is with the Cathe deal it's a good price but think it may be more without the Cathe rate. So when I booked awhile ago they were almost sold out so I need to switch rooms on Friday & Saturday but they said maybe a room will open up where I won't need to switch (fingers crossed).

Belinda - Nice workout!!!, haven't done that one in a long time:)

Kristin - Your son has quite the batting average:eek:

Belinda, sounds like our dh would get along quite well! I'd love to get us together, whether for an official rt or one on our own.

Kristin, wow that's some batting! Very impressive. Did you play sports in school? That reminds me of a study just completed that those who play sports in high school live healthier lives. Of course, it was only done on males, probably since they did the study on individuals in their 70s, who would have been in school before Title IX.
Deb, had the pizza but no beer. This is the son who sends us to drink but we try not to in front of him b/c of his addiction issues. The pizza was really good but for me it is more their crust since cheese has decided it doesn't like me any more. Hope it works out that you don't have to change rooms - that's a pain. Having it closer to the gym will be much nicer tho. How's your dad doing?
My arms and shoulders are still reminding me of Monday's workout. Drinking coffee and then heading down to do a circuit workout. Not sure yet which one. Had to take a vacation day to take ds to the dr and then a job interview. Boy, do I hope he gets it, and then bring him back to his apartment. Was just looking over my to-do list and I have 21 phone calls to make! And I hate chatting on the phone... and it is supposed to be a vacation day.

Good afternoon,

STS D27 is done! I been doing M2 D25,26 and 27 back to back isn't a good idea I am extremely tired today. Go figure! My original plan was to do the complete M3 in 2 weeks What was I thinking?:roll eyes: I will kill myself by the time we go on vacation in 2 weeks. My UB feels like it's gonna fall off I didn't wanted to lift the last set in D27 today I almost skipped it Glad I didn't. So my new plan is: I will finish Cathe's Bodybuilding Rotation and next week I will continue M3 W2 as written. I will take all my weights, tower and everything I need for STS M3 with me on our vacation. I may do PiYo legs instead of the squat rack legs? Haven't decided ? I do need to train smart and safe. I almost forgot, I walked the dogs this morning and I also did Cathe's Yoga Relax premix#1. Needed that yoga after D27.

Cookie - we should do that..get together. I think my husband would get along with your husband too:eek: They already have one thing in common…..BEER:p
You sound like Aleisa with your work. She is always on the phone too. Take a break, girl!;)

Hey girls

I wanted to thank you all on your hugs and thoughts. I really appreciate it :)

Good news on my brother, the scans showed cancer just in his left cheek, no where else. I was relieved to hear of it. My mom and dad finally started working together ( after I called them both:mad:) to get this taken care of. He will have the area of cancer removed then go through chemo.

I was excited to receive my new leslie sansome dvd's yesterday. I got 4 in total :eek: I'm dressed and ready to do one right now :)

Belinda-Where are you guys going on vacation too? I told my husband that we need to go back to the Tennessee mountains soon, I miss it. Great job on your workout(s);)

Cookie-I will keep my fingers crossed for your DS and the job. What circuit did you do? Im feeling pretty good these days, thanks:) Job is going well and I started taking vitamins that are helping with my energy. How are you doing?

Debbie- When is the RT again? I'm thinking its soon.

Kristin- ^5's to your ds and his BB game. That must of been exciting for both of you! Awesome job on your workout.

So we went to home depot and bought some flowers, shrubs and mulch for the front yard. Its so hot and sticky outside so were in the pool right now. I can't wait to get it all done. I bought some black-eye susans last week for the yard and there looking really pretty :)

I didn't workout today. I will do 2 workouts tomorrow. I tried to get in a bunch of stores before the RT. I called tonight and was able to stay in one room so I'm happy about that. I so need to pack:( Meeting my SILs & a friend tomorrow night . . . too much going on;)

Belinda - I was getting tired reading about your workouts . . . you may be doing more than I will do on the RT:eek: Take it easy:)

Amelia - So happy to hear good news with your brother. That was really nice of you to get your parents together, it will mean a lot to your brother. The RT is this weekend.

Cookie - A crust is important especially when you don't do cheese:) 21 phone calls would probably take me the whole day LOL. I hope your son gets the job. My dad is doing well.

Belinda, hope you don't overdo it! That's a lot of workouts. I'm probably just projecting myself onto you, but I certainly couldn't handle it w/o injury or getting worn out. Are you taking the pull-up tower also on your trip?
Amelia, that is good news! TG. Will having surgery and treatment affect his other meds? Glad your parents were able to get together for your brother's sake and how wonderful for you to work that out. We'll nominate you for a Nobel peace prize. I know how tough it is to be in between parents who don't like each other, so sad. The yard sounds lovely. Thx for wishes for ds. He has a call back for next week. Hoping it works out for him.

Deb, what a relief that you will not have to change rooms. Hope you rest up a bit before the rt marathon begins. Enjoy your day with your sil and friends. How fortunate you are to be so close. My mother asked me how ____ was the other day, and I said who's that? She was referring to my bil's wife! Since we see each other only every few years, I forgot about her! Pitiful.
Yesterday did Firm 1, the one w/Susan Harris. I honestly think I saw her in O'Hare airport on way to visit ds2 earlier this month. Of course, she wasn't wearing the yellow leotard but it sure resembled like her. Got in a 3.5 mile walk while ds1 was at doctor's. That was just stupid as it was 96 and very humid, but I didn't want to waste time just sitting in the waiting room. Glad I got it in since thunderstorms precluded walking last night. Did roundout knockout this morning. Four more phone calls to make, down from yesterday's list of 21. Tonight we have a historical ghost talk to go to - sounds interesting.

Debbie - lol:D you will be doing 6 hours workouts, I only did one! I just did a lot of weight lifting the last 3 day's:roll eyes: You must be excited! Have fun with your double workout today.

Hi,

I took a yoga class and ran sprints on the track for about 20 min. The dinner tonight was fun, it was a cool night so we were able to sit outside.

I was looking over the schedule and forgot how early I need to get up:eek: It looks like the Sunday breakfast is at the gym so that makes things easier but the class is still at 7AM. I will hopefully get in some zz's tonight.

Belinda - Hope you had fun in DC. Is your new haircut hard to do yourself?

Cookie - I'm not sure if I would recognize Susan Harris without her yellow leotard or those white shoes;) It it were her, she would be thrilled that someone recognized her after all these years:) I guess because we live so close it is easy for my SILs and me to see each other.

Hey everyone. I didn't have time to post yesterday, but I did get in my workout. My cousin slept over on Wednesday. After DS's baseball game we went to get pizza and then we watched a movie and went to bed. In the morning she was going to go to the gym, and I asked her if she wanted to try a dvd instead. She was up for it. We did X10, hi-lo and fitness blast premix. She is 21, in good shape and had a hard time keeping up. She said it was harder than the classes at her gym. She was impressed with how I could keep up with Cathe, and even more impressed with Cathe just turning 50, lol. After she left, my friend from work came over with her daughter. We hung out, ate dinner and drank wine. By the time they left it was 10:30 and I was exhausted.

DH came home this morning. I felt very sluggish, probably from the wine :eek:, but I forced myself into my workout, tabatacise, premix 2, plus 100 rep challenge bicep curls. I used 20 pound BB and my biceps are fried. They are still swelling, lol.

Deb- I hope you have a great time on the RT. Keep us updated!

Belinda- WOW! Those are impressive weights. Good for you for listening to your body. When we don't listen, injuries occur. Are you really taking all your weights and tower with you?

Cookie- I played basketball and ran track. DH was a baseball player, of course. DS loves sports. He wants to be on the MLB. I told him he has to go to college first. He says "Okay, mom. BUt you do know if I am a top 5 draft for the MLB, I'm going to play and go to college later, right?" I nod and say if he is top 5 draft pick he can go to MLB, lol.

Amelia- I'm glad you got some good news and that your parents are going to work together. That's important right now. Hang in there!

Amelia, thinking of you and your family. My parents got along best when they were divorced and living on different continents! Even then, I still felt caught in the middle at times.
Kristin, I'm not surprised you were athletic in high school. With his batting, I look forward to seeing your ds in the all-stars game. 20#?!!! Wow, that's impressive.
Deb, how's the trip? Wish I was there with you. Hope you're having a great time.
Took my mom to a mediterrean restaurant last night, and it was soooo good. I really love their naan (a type of bread). Not good for me but tasted good at the moment. Today walked the dogs this morning and again in evening, and did PUB. That one gets me every time. Have to finish up dinner.

A short check in before work:)

The last four days have been power walks, and it feels nice to get back in my groove again. I got a few workouts by Leslie and im really enjoying her right now. I'm sure one day I will pick up my Cathe's again. I plan on doing the total gym in a few weeks once I get my workout habit established.

Ok, Debbie have a fabulous time on the RT, take plenty of pics.

Hi everyone. I just finished Yoga Max, which was much needed after all the high impact I've done the last week. I also walked Baxter this morning.

I am getting ready to go to my neighbor's house. She is having a girls' party, women only, lol. I need a break after playing single mom all week long.

I need to shower and get ready.

Amelia- good job getting your power walks in. I bet it helps to clear your head too. I have a lot going on in my mind lately, and the Yoga Max helped kind of "silence" it all. I needed that.

Cookie- PUB gets me too. The chest work has my pecs shaking, even after we move on to back, lol. I have a hard time holding the 8 pound weight for the ab work on the ball too, the wood chops I think they are called. It is harder on my arms than my abs at that point because my arms are so sore and weak, lol.

Okay bb tomorrow!

Amelia, good idea on walking more. Have you checked out Jessica Smith's workouts? I think you would like hers. You should be really proud of yourself for sticking to your workouts during this stressful time.
Kristin, glad you're getting your monies' worth out of the pool! I'm still shaking my head over the 20# for biceps. The most I've ever been able to do repeat sets on is 15. DH loves PUB and will often do it w/me. My pects are still sore from it on Friday.
Deb, are you tired? Hope you're having a blast. Wonder which cast members are coming to breakfast this morning. Did Cathe give any idea on who will be in the new series?
Did great glutes yesterday and dog walking. TB trisets and more walking, plus groceries, and a visit w/friends.

We stayed in DC a few day's longer:p, we had a blast with the kids. Besides walking I didn't do anything. Today I will do a workout?

Cookie - thanks for asking, DH is doing much better. Good job with your workouts. I haven't heard or seen a accident:eek: Glad you had fun with your mom. I also had some not so good food for me but tasty the last few day's:eek:

Debbie - hope you having a blast at the RT:D I bet your worked out more than I did this weekend:p I did a lot of shopping:roll eyes: I love my hair, she did an amazing job. Love the color too.

Kirstin - will your friend do more Cathe workouts with you? :eek: Cathe's workouts are great. Yes, I will take all my weights/tower with me. I still have 3 weeks of STS left:eek: I don't know, how else I will finish it? Everything will go with me.

Amelia - nice job on your walks. It's raining today. Still praying for your brother.
