Commit to get FIT & LEAN for January!

Hi,

I did TS legs today.

So I've been wasting so much of my free time and just received my January schedule and it's not as light as I thought it would be:confused: DH bought me a smart phone so I spent way to much time playing around with that & helping DH with itunes.

Belinda - Hmm, you enable me & don't show up today;) Did you have a problem with the pants length? I have a bunch of things to bring to the seamstress but she is older & I feel guilty even though I pay her:confused:

Lori - I know around here they get more commission if it's their listing but still that sounds crazy and limits your choices if she'd holding out for that:confused: hopefully she's just showing her listings 1st. How did it go with the meeting?

Kristin - I haven't had the chance to check out the premixes but this series seems to have so many which is awesome. I think you may be able to go out with the boy's this weekend:cool:

Hey girls, quick check in before work.

No workout yesterday - still resting my right shoulder. I feel like such a slacker :eek:

My shoulder is doing better this morning so I plan on getting that Burn sets workout in. I just go ahead and do a timesaver premix.

Sooooo. As far as I know, I plan on joining weight watchers Monday. I'm not sure if I've shared with you guys or not but I've put on quite a bit of weight this past year. I took an SSRI and while it calmed my anxiety and depression, it also calmed my motivation to do anything healthy. I'm now off it, thank goodness( 3 weeks now and feeling great). As I was gaining the weight I just 'didn't care' - I guess you could say that I kinda said the heck with it all.

But now im taking responsibility for my actions and getting my butt back in shape ;) Im miserable at this weight and lifes too short to be unhappy.:)

ok...i've rambled enough.

Deb-Oooo, a smart phone. Cool. Im not sure if my phone is smart or not...its an android? :confused: I also spend why too much time playing with it. Nice workout. Is TS legs on the xtrain series?

Kristin-Awesome job pushing through your workout.I haven't done any of those 100 rep challenges yet. I need too. I'm about two days behind on my rotation...:rolleyes: with my crazy schedule it was bound to happen LOL

Lori-sorry the house hunting didn't go well, how was it yesterday? Nice workout girl. How did your interview go? I wish you lived closer...i bet you could whip my butt into shape:)

Morning girls.

Yesterday I went for a nice long walk. Today I will do some yoga.

Debbie - I had no problem with the pants length, I always have to buy short.. The only reason we live in WV is because DH's job was here. We have no idea were we consider moving in a few years? Somewhere warm, lol!

Amelia - I gained a few pounds too...my foot probleme isn't helping. Are you doing it online?

Kirstin - I haven't tried any Xtrain workouts yet! Sorry you lost your post. Happend to me a few times, so frustrating.
 
Lori - you still can go to Costco and look around without a membership. Sorry about the house hunting. Been there! Hang in there, you will find a nice house.

Cookie - sounds like you really like KA, hah? I workout mostley at home, but still like to look good. Nice job on your 4 mile walk. Where did you buy the spin bike? I want one too.

Good Morning:)

It's cold here today...don't know if I'm gonna bother going home. They are having a storm at home, with a lot of snow...not sure which I'd rather have!

My meeting went really well yesterday. Basically what it is, I set up my own personal business, they promote me and I run my business through their facility. She said the proposal she sees the most is that personal trainers are given a swipe card, to get in and out of the gym and they pay the center $5 every time they bring a client there...which is pretty good. I can charge the client whatever I want. She says its not hard to get business. They have 8 trainers and 6 are full right now. So I think I'm going to do it! It will be an expense starting out but it will be worth it (hopefully). Then we went to the military base where we met with a lady. I told her I had applied on the child care part time job and she said she was going to look into it for me. If I could do that part time with PT, I'd be laughing! House hunting also went a lot better. We found a nice house, nice neighbourhood, beautiful back yard....but I think someone was putting a offer in on it and if not, it won't last long.

Belinda** I don't think they let you past the doors at Costco unless you are a member? I know there is someone always there waiting to check your card. Take a pic of them :)

Ameila** I didn't know anything about your depression or medication. How are you feeling now? Minus the weight gain? There was a lot going on in your life for a while and I'm sure the passing of your mil took its tole. Hopefully you can get back on track now. You seem happy.

Deb** oh no...a busy jan!! How'd that happen?:eek: Had a really good day yesterday. Today I need to make some calls!

I'll bbl to report my workout. Yesterday was 5 miles and 4Ds chest and back. I think today will be cardio and legs

30mins of cardio done. 20mins of lowmax + 10mins with Leslie Sansome I was lucky to get that in with my D%*n foot throbbing all day:mad: Im icing it now...took ibuprofen earlier today. Im hoping to wake up and get in a workout before work tomorrow. My shoulder is a lot better:)

Lori- Sounds like you a better day with your gym meeting and house viewing. I'm sure you will find the perfect house soon and your PT job sounds awesome. you will love that! Thank you for your words of encouragement. Im doing a lot better now, the weight gain is getting on my last nerve but I know Its only temporary. (trying to practice positive thinking:eek:)

Belinda-Nice job on your walk. How was your yoga? I need to do that soon...always helps with my foot.

Xtrains Burn sets : Back and Bicep done. -guess im not really following the rotation anymore :rolleyes:. Im focusing on getting some form of physical activity for at least 30mins a day...:eek:

Its suppose to be close to 70degrees today!!! I may take the kids to the park nearby and let them ride there bikes while I power walk:)

Yesterday I did 30 min yoga. Short and sweet.

Today is cleaning DD's appartment. Tomorrow is moving day. Not looking forward to the next few days.

Lori - glad your meeting went well yesterday. Sounds interresting! You can get a pass to look around Costco.

Amelia - I am glad you are on the right track. You will lose weight in no time. Sorry about your foot. I know what you mean.

Belinda, yeah, the secret's out - I do like KAF! While I like the creativity in cooking, baking reminds me of comfort. Plus, my dh loves sweets and is always asking me to make him something. My ds ordered the bike and it says Spinning on it. Gonna try it out today. Stopped and picked up bike shorts last night in prep.
Lori, I also wish you lived closer to whip me into shape! However, I'd get tired just listening to all you do. Is ds making friends in school?
Amelia, I'm with you. I workout feel good and then come upstairs to realize that yes I still do not look like anyone in Cathe's crew! Swear I can gain weight from looking at a carb w/o even eating it. You can do it. Set your 10% goal and go for it.
Kristin, have you had a lot of illness down there? Seems the flu is every where. My dh reminded me that I still haven't made my appt with TRS to investigate retiring. Not sure if we can swing it but I should check it out.
Phatgyrl, how did your week go? We woke up to no power on Thursday so that took working out off my agenda, and yesterday I had to do a conference 1.5 hours from home so it was a rest day. Today back at it!
Deb, you'll love your smart phone. My problem is I'm not really smart enough for mine. Plus it gets too addictive, I want to keep checking it.
Okay, spin bike is put together so going to try it out today, take the dogs for a long walk and get in bis/tris. Would like to also get in cardio legs but ...

Good Morning:)

We didn't do much yesterday. I did LL , abs and shoulder work in the a.m and when DH went to work last night I got on the TM for 10 k. My legs felt like lead from legs earlier in the day but they loosened up after a while. I'm not sure what I will do today or when.

Belinda** I didn't know DD was moving out:eek:. I knew that you had looked at apts a while ago, maybe that's when my life got super busy and I wasnt checking in all the time. Is DS still living with you too?

Cookie** lol....I don't do as much anymore:eek:. There aren't as many steps to run up and down!:eek: and not so many rooms to clean. How was the bike? Hope it didn't fall apart on ya!

Ameila** your always so positive! You always have been. That's a good quality. You see things as only temporary and a small hurdle...which you should! Good for you. Not everyone is like that, I know I'm not!

Ok....I'll bbl to report my workout. I haven't fully decided what I'm doing here today. We changed my phone number so now I need to either make new resumes or resend all the ones I sent! I think I should make a personal appearance this time but the job I really want is at the military base. It's only 20 hrs a week, and that would be perfect with the personal training! So I think I'm going to go visit the lady who said she can get me a interview this Monday!

Hey everyone! Hope you are all enjoying the weekend. I slept in until 8 this morning and it felt great. I felt so tired yesterday. It was a good thing I scheduled Friday as my rest day. Today's workout was All-Out, which completes the first week of the 90 day rotation for Xtrain! I am excited to try Burn Sets this week :eek:

I am a bit nervous because I am having my "formal" observation this month. My pre-observation appointment is Wednesday and I am typing up my plans, my answers to questions I may be asked, just to review before I go in, lol. The observation is for 1-22. I just kind of wish it could be 1-23 so it could be over with, lol.:eek: I have had many informals this year, basic walk-throughs while I'm teaching and my assistant principal only has nice things to say about my teaching methods and plans and what not. I heard he has been picky with others though, so I get all worried. Just cannot wait to get through it. Once this year is over, I will be more relaxed about this whole new evaluation system.

Anyway. . . no real plans this weekend. Just grading and planning. Tomorrow is DS's basketball game and another kiddie birthday party.

Lori- the PT gig sounds very promising. I bet you are an awesome PT. You'd build up a clientele easily. Re: the house. If you found one house that would fit your needs, you'll find another. That's the promising part of it. You may not get this one, but at least you see there are houses in the area that will meet your needs. Did you get to schedule an interview with the other job for Monday?

Belinda- ((((HUGS)))) I know it must be hard helping DD pack up, especially how close you two are. It will all be okay. The bond you two seem to share. .. no distance will change that, right? That's the important thing. Hang in there.

Cookie- everyone is getting sick. I am getting to be a nut with the hand sanitizer! The flu shot is low in supply too. I am not sure what to do. We got so sick over Christmas break though, so maybe we went through it, whatever it may be (flu?) and we will be okay the rest of the winter. . . Let's hope.

Amelia- I think it's great you are joining WW. I know a lot of people who have had success with it. I am sorry to hear about your struggle with depression/anxiety last year. Thanks for sharing that with us. It is a hard thing to talk about, I think. You know we all fall off the wagon from time to time. What's important is getting back on, and you seem to be doing just that, so good for you :). Keep on going, girl!

Deb- I am happy to be staying in tonight. Last night I had my cousin come over and I had her watch the original Rocky movie with me. She had never seen it, can you believe that? Rocky is one of my favorite movies of all time. Now she wants to see the second one, she loved it so much. Anyway, I was so tired by the end of this week. I just want to be a hermit all weekend, if I could. Unfortunately with two boys, not possible. BB game and birthdya party tomorrow, lol.

Yesterday I did yoga, today was XT bi's & tri's.

I feel like I'm coming down with something so I've been taking lots of vit C & lots of tea with honey. I'm sure it's not the flu but I'm really trying to fight this both DH & Ds have a cold so crossing my fingers.

Belinda - Good luck with dd's move, she must be so excited.

Lori - Both jobs sound really good! At my gym PT's need to give a cut to the gym & at DH's they only have to pay $5 per client. I think that's a great deal instead of giving them a cut (and I think it's pretty big too).

Kristin - You are so organized and work so hard so relax you will do great for the observation. Wow, Rocky is so motivating can't imagine not seeing it loved it the 1st time & any other time I catch it.

Amelia - You have a smart phone, just means (I think) you get internet access. Your doing great with the workouts, you can always use the rotation as a guideline.

Cookie - I hope you had fun spinning today:) It takes me awhile to learn any thing, I should just check the manual:confused: & always forgetting passwords DS said I should just store them in the phone.

Good Morning:)

The baby didn't get up until 7:15 this morning:) and I went to bed before 11! It's about time I got enough sleep. I've been going to bed to late and getting up to early.

Yesterday I ran out side for little over 10 k and it was cold! I didn't realize it was so cold until I turned around to come back. It wasn't windy but there must have been a breeze or something. DH is working again tonight so he will be sleeping most of today. I may do a weight workout with the boys in the room with me and wait till the baby goes for a nap to do cardio.

Kristin** this house wasn't the perfect house but its the best one we had seen so far and your right...it just gave us hope. The only downside to the house was that it only had two rooms upstairs and two downstairs. We kind of need 3 up b/c of the boys but the rooms were so big that we could have made it work. The house is sold now anyway. Oh well! We knew that was going to happen. I'm going to go see that lady tomorrow and give her my résumé again. She said that if I really wanted the job she could get me a interview.

Deb** the girl I spoke with said most people's proposals are for $5 a person so that's good. I figured I'd set my price at $35 a hour and set up some kind of package deal. She said one girl charges $250 for 8 weeks and assessment included. I have a feeling that's only 1 workout a week though. Can't be anymore.

Kristin, yo Adrienne! Love the scene of him running up the steps and the music. Being organized helps so much and planning out your responses to possible questions. How was the b'ball game?

Today was c/s/b and did the 100 lateral raises, and walked the dogs four miles. Did 15 mins on spin bike last night and will try to get another 15 in tonight. Friends dropped by this afternoon and while fun, I'm way behind on my to-do list.

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! Today I did Burn Sets, CBS, it was awesome. My pecs are shaking as I type this, which guarantees I will have major DOMS tomorrow. I also added AT express premix (cardio with abs). Overall, I burned 698 calories. . . Woo hoo! :D

I had to take DS to a birthday party. It was fun to see him with his friends. He is best friends with this little girl and they were holding hands as they went on the different bouncy rides. So cute! Then we met up with DH and other DS to catch the rest of his basketball. DS takes the game so seriously. It will be fun to watch him play when he is older. The weekend flew by!

Cookie- My favorite Rocky movies are 2 and 3. $ is my third favorite. One I love too, but I hate the fact that at the end the decision goes to Apollo, lol. I like being "overprepared" for observations rather than "underprepared" or even just "prepared," lol. That is just my personality though. I give everything I am dedicated to my all.

Lori- good for you getting to get in some real sleep. I finally feel rested up after staying out late last weekend, lol. You know what I hate about looking at other people's houses? When they are "dirty" houses." One house we looked at during our first search, was so cluttered and so disgusting, I just felt like my skin was crawling. I could not imagine what the house would look like clean. I couldn't see myself living there, you know? :p

Deb- I hope you are feeling better. If not, I hope it is just a cold. People are coming down with the flu and other viral "knockouts" around here. I am using my hand sanitizer like crazy at work. I don't ant to get sick again. It makes me scared to send DS to daycare. It is inevitable that germs will spread quickly there, even though they are extremely clean.

Belinda- are you tired from the move? Are you starting XTrain this week?

I did get a cold, but thankfully not the flu it's just sucking my energy up. I wanted to workout but decided against it because I was so tired even took a nap today.

I needed to up early this morning to go somewhere with DS, so I'll be jumping in bed real soon.

Belinda - I hope the move went well.

Lori - That sounds like a really good deal and you'll get to meet people too! When they were showing the weather map it showed Canada was in the negative #'s:eek:

Kristin - It does seem like the flu is really bad this year . . . I didn't even get the flu shot:eek: Awww, how cute with DS & the little girl. I have burn set CBS tomorrow now I'm scared:)

Amelia - Weight watchers seems like one of the better programs out there. Are you doing the online version?

Cookie - I used my last sauce tonight, I wouldn't have had it in me to make a fresh batch today. It sounds like you were able to put the spin bike together.

Phatgyrl - 30 minutes is a good goal!

Kristin, being well prepared is a wonderful thing. I often wonder how folks who don't plan expect to do well with anything.
Lori, what's the temperature? My son who moved to Arizona is complaining about how cold it is there. It's warmed in NYC and Providence, Rhode Island, than Arizona!
Phatgyrl, 30 minutes is great. What workout did you do today?
Deb, hope you're not coming down with something. Being very tired is always a major sign for me.
Did cardio leg blast today and did the 100 hip thrusts this evening just before eating dinner.

Hey ladies. I just finished CLB. I love that workout. I was dripping with sweat all over, lol. It was a long day too. I chaperoned an after school bowling club event, so I didn't get home until 6:30 to find out that DS has a double ear infection, poor baby. DH took him to the doctors (he was off with him today, DH is off on Mondays). Anyway. . . DH and my other DS got the flu shot and the doctor told DH that if I bring my other DS in on Saturday, we can both get the shot too. I normally skip this shot, but the way this flu is spreading, and the fact that I work in a public school, I think I would be stupid at this point not to get the shot.

Cookie- I also did the 100 rep challenge Hip thrusts. I did them without any weight just to get the movement down. I did 100 reps and I really felt it in the butt, lol. All I can think is. .. I feel this way without any weight. . . what will it feel like when I add some weight, lol. Oh my!!!!

phatgyrl- take it easy. This flu is spreading everywhere. Do you live in the Northeast? Many of us do, and it seems to be hitting our area hard.

Deb- how'd you like BS CBS? I have major DOMS in all areas. It is like the DOMS are connected throughout the three muscles. It spreads across the shoulders to the back and round to the chest, lol. I've never had it like this before. Excited to do Bi's and Tri's tomorrow ;)

Lori- did you get an interview today? Crossing my fingers for you.

Amelia- how's it going? Any workouts today?

Belinda- how are you doing? Did the move go well for DD?
