Commit to get Fit & Lean for February 2015

Good morning,

Today I will do XT Cardio Leg Blast and SBF Stretch.

Debbie - good job with D27 yesterday. No, it wasn't my bday. Mine is in May :)

I will be back later. Have a great day and workout everyone.

Hi everyone. I must be getting my period cuz I feel gross, lol. Bloated and gross. Yesterday I was too tired to do anything, so I did nothing, lol. Tonight I did RWH HCUB. I haven't done this one in over a month and I forgot how much fun it is!

I am spent. I have to get my grades in tonight. I will be back tomorrow with personals.

Oh, and we are supposed to get more snow. UGH!!!!

Hi Ladies!

Oy oy oy. Just when I recover from one thing it's another. This time, female issues. Irregular bleeding in my cycle. Went to ob/gyn, he said since it's just started happening to keep an eye on it, if it doesn't change/improve then sonogram. It's almost stopped so I hope it just goes back to normal...

And I'm up 1.5 pounds. GO ME GO! Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week I've gotten in three workouts:

M: Muscle Up #1
T: Off
W: Muscle Up #2
TH: Shape Up #1

February's goal is to be more consistent with workouts (five a week, would love to say six, but realist in me says five is good to shoot for, LOL.)

Now I need to go back and see what you all have been doing!!

:) Wendy

Hi,

I took a yoga class today. I took ds's dog today and their isn't anywhere for the poor dogs to walk, snow & ice all over. DH cut his leg in the snow & ice walking her:( This weather is making me so tired too!

Belinda - May is a nice time of year to have a birthday, perfect weather!

Kristin - I always mean to ask you, how do you like this year's class?

Wendy - It's tough when you cycle is off, so many different things go on with your body. Take care of yourself!

Waves hi to everyone

Goodnight:)

Good morning,

Workout is done .Ended up doing AOLIH = 30 min and SBF LB w/ball.

Cookie - good job on your workout today. Have a great day at work.

Debbie - oh no! Hope your husband is ok. Be careful with all that snow and ice.

Wendy - hang in there! I know how you feel. Went through a rough few years myself. It will get better.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in today.

Have a great day and workout, everyone.

Good Morning!

No workout last night. Got on scale today, up some more, really want to toss it out the window but that won't solve anything, LOL. I hope to get in a workout today after I get my writing done.

Debbie-I hope your husband is doing better!
Belinda-Thanks, girl. I have had such an up and down/weird health stretch since November. Ready to have some normal health, LOL!

Waves to Cookie, Kristin and Amelia!

:) Wendy

Good morning,

SuperCuts and 21 Day Fit Barre is done.

Wendy - (((HUGS)) it will get better. Went through a rough health problems a few years ago. It will get better.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me. Have a great weekend, everyone.

Hi,

I took a rest day today. It was a stressful day, DH took a bad fall off of our deck stairs today. He was in so much pain, talked him into going to the Dr. because they have hours on Saturday rather than going to ER over the weekend. The nurse was so nice to get us in on short notice saved us so much time & nice to go to your own Dr. The Dr. said it is either a fracture or broken ribs but as of now don't think it hurt his liver & kidneys. He is so bruised. I was so upset but happy we went to the Dr. to find out what was wrong. So thankful he didn't hit his head either.

Belinda - I'm considering ordering 21 day fit w/o's. Great job with your workouts, love Supercuts.

Wendy - I hope you feel better too!

Waves hi to everyone!

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, how the fitbit? It definitely has got me to try to get those 10K in no matter what. Supercuts is so much fun.
Amelia, how are you doing?
Kristin, hope the gross feeling is gone and grades got done. It is snowing now. On Friday I heard snow Sun - Tues! There isn't much room to move it to or around it.
Wendy, you must have been worried about that. Hate to mention it, but could it be related to perimenopause? At times you would have thought I was hemorrhaging. Good job getting your workouts in, esp w/that going on.
Deb, broken ribs? Did they take x-rays? Your poor dh. Hope he's doing better. It is very painful. TG you made him go to the dr.
Yesterday did a defensive driving course with AAA for the 10% reduction in car insurance. Surprisingly, wasn't bad. We have gone to other ones in the past, not AAA, and the boredom factor was off the scale - this one was informative. Must have pulled my left shoulder somehow on Thursday b/c it is very sore now. Was doing better until I lifted (with both hands) the flour canister this morning. Now I have one of those heat pads on it and am typing one-handed. DH and I had planned on started training for that 35 mile walk this weekend but yesterday had the course and now my shoulder is killing me, plus it is snowing. It was supposed to be 7.5 miles today but that may be 7.5 hours of paperwork!
Cookie

Good morning,

Today I will do a nice stretch and maybe a walk.

Cookie - same here! I aim for 10K and most day's I get 12K :) Tomorrow I am starting week 11 of the XT rotation, I am ready to do something different. That's a lot of miles you are aiming for, good for you. OH NO, on the shoulder. Make sure you stretch it good.

Debbie - me too! Will you buy only the basic set for the add ons?

I will be back tomorrow, maybe later today.

Hi everyone. Sorry I was MIA the last two days. TOTM did come and it was not pretty. I ended up taking Friday and Saturday as rest days because I had no energy. Then I decided to go on to week two of the rotation, and I thought the workout was supposed to be Hiit LBC but it was Hiit UBC, so I screwed up this week, already. It's okay, it called for LBC on Friday, which I will make my rest day. I will do UBC tomorrow and then follow the rest of the week, except Friday.

I had to have a phone conference with my younger DS's teacher because he just seems to be struggling so much with the math and reading and it is getting to the point where he is very frustrated and getting angry about it. We think he has dyslexia. :( After doing more research online, I am almost positive he has it. In kindergarten he wrote certain numbers and letters backwards, and although he has stopped doing that, when he is upset or frustrated he does it more. A lot of signs that he has it. So we have a doctor's appt on Wednesday. We need to get a referral for a neurologist and the teacher is scheduling an IST meeting, which I am thinking I want to get an advocate for the meeting. If he has dyslexia, I want him to get all the services he is entitled to and working in a public school, I know that districts sometimes won't provide all the services needed because they want to keep their numbers down, and so on. Well, it goes on in my district and it infuriates me. The parents that come with advocates always get what they want for the most part. I know I am getting defensive at the beginning, but I don't want him to continue to struggle like this. It is heartbreaking. Anyway, couple this with my TOTM, I have been crying on and off all weekend, ugh!

My dog has been so stir crazy. I was able to walk him this morning, but he was still nutso. I took him to a different dog park, further away from my house, but a nicer area. It was huge and the other dog owners were more knowledgeable about proper dog park etiquette. There were no dog fights and he had a blast. He ran around with a German shepherd the whole time. He is exhausted! Mission accomplished because now we are going to get him with freezing rain, sleet and dare I say more freakin' snow.

Deb- I am so sorry to hear about your DH. That must have been so scary and upsetting! Lucky he didn't hit his head, absolutely!

Wendy- It stinks to have not been feeling well for so long. Take it easy. If it makes you feel any better, my scale number wnet up to and I'm working my butt off, but eating like crap, so it's totally my fault. Ugh!

Belinda- I see you are almost done with the Xtrain rotation. What are you going to do next?

Cookie- I had to laugh at your 7.5 hours of paperwork. It never ends. I caught up on all my grading and now I have a new test to grade, which has a lot of writing on it. I hate myself sometimes, I swear! Why do I do this to myself? i have a meeting with the curriculum specialist to talk about what my lessons will be to prepare students for the test. I want to say that I have decided not to prepare them at all, because what the f#$$%$^ is the point? Half of them won't take it and the other half will make pictures with the bubbles because they know this test does not count! Plus, I have a theory they might do better without any prep at all, lol. Can you tell I am losing it?

Kristin

Hi,

Today I did a dvd that I had but never did Burn at the Barre & it was pretty good. I also took a hammer to the ice on my deck. I was hoping the neighbors didn't see me & think I was crazy LOL!! It does relieve stress & at least if we get more ice/snow tomorrow it won't be underneath. We need a nice 50 or 60 degree day:)

Belinda - I wanted to hear reviews on the new add-on's on the 1st set they were very good.

Kristin - I say without a doubt get the advocate, I think your son would benefit with the help early on especially. It is so hard when we worry about our children but that never changes.

Cookie - Take care of your shoulder. It looks like you are getting a lot more snow than us:(

Waves hi to everyone

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, I give myself a couple of days a month to not get 10K but if I don't use them am very proud of myself. The downside is sometimes I'm just happy to get the 10. It does motivate me on days when I'm mostly in meetings and not moving around to be sure to get moving first thing in the morning or realize I'm going to have to squeeze it in at home at night. Has your son set a wedding date?
Wendy, it must be extremely discouraging to be ill again. I always get po'd since we work out and eat quite good, it doesn't seem fair to not be well. Take care of yourself.
Kristin, we had a data mtg where progress has been good on district measure but still not enough for state assessments. It is all so discouraging. I also second the advocate. My eldest son has a learning disability, and while the process is not a friendly or comfortable one, so having the advocate is wonderful. Just got the text right now - district closed! I was going to have to take the day as my shoulder is so sore, and it bothered my sleep so much, I wouldn't have wanted to drive.
Deb, how is your dh doing now? I broke three ribs and chipped my elbow from a fall once, and it took a while to feel better. LOL the thought of you breaking up the ice with a hammer. Bet it was great stress relief. Pls tell me more about 21 day fix. Is that the program that had the food containers?
My shoulder is still really sore, so I'm glad to not have to drive in, esp w/the snow and ice. Today is a definite rest day.
Cookie

Good morning,

Today I am starting week 11 with the XT rotation. I will do XT CBS.

Cookie - no set date :) I hope they will take their time. I usually don't have a problem getting in 10K a day. Just cleaning my house I have almost 8000 steps. It takes me a few hours to clean my house. LOL! And walking the dogs gives my anywhere from 5000 to 6000 steps.

Debbie - do you have the original 21 Day Fix? I want the set, but on the other hand I already have so many programs ?? LOL, using a hammer on your deck. :)

Kirstin - DH and I really enjoyed the XT rotation. DH wants to do another round of P90X3 :) I want to go through my old dvd's? Not sure, yet what I will do after we are done? I also 3rd the advocate. Hope all works out for your son. Keep us posted.

I will be back later. Have a great Monday everyone.

Hi everyone. Just did Hiit UBC. I am getting better with this one. I was able to match Cathe with her weights. Still had to go to my knees with the push ups. I am just not good at push ups, lol.

So the doctor's office called to ask why we were coming in for a referral for my son. When DH explained that we needed a referral to a neuropsychologist to have DS tested for dyslexia, they said the doctor doesn't give referrals for that and that we needed to call around for a neuropsychologist. The neuropsychologist that we got in touch with said the testing will run anywhere between $1500 and $2000 and we were not expecting that. I thought my insurance would cover it. Apparently it does not :(. I am upset and frustrated. We need to have him tested, so I am going to pay. We are still waiting for a few others to call us back. So sick about it right now.

Belinda- Is P90X3 the 30 minute workouts? I think I saw the infomercial for that one. I've never done the P90X or the Body Beast. T25 was the only one I tried and I didn't like it.

Deb- you are so right. I think about the movie Parenthood when Steve Martin is talking with his dad and his dad tells him that when he was little they thought he had polio. The dad tells him "I hated you for that." and Steve Martin looks at him all confused. The dad says, "It never ends" the worrying never ends. It is soooo true. I worry about them all the time, even for stupid things.

Cookie- lucky for you that you had that snow day. After speaking with my school psychologist, I plan on going to the IST and then if we got to CSE I will get an advocate. I want to get this testing for dyslexia done too. Just need to find something less expensive, hopefully.

BBL,

Kristin

Hi,

I did STS yoga & pilates abs, I had a migraine today so didn't feel well. I took the day off, we didn't get much snow, some ice but not too much. DH is still in a lot of pain but they said today would be bad.

Belinda - DH reminds me of you because it is driving him crazy not to workout, not sure how much longer he will last. I don't have 21 day fix, saw the informercial & the reviews and like that they are 30 min. I know I have too many programs and keep saying this will be the last one:oops:

Kristin - I would suggest you call your health insurance company & explain the situation because they may have some solutions for you. Even ask for a manager if you need to.

Cookie - Yes, 21 day fix is the one with the containers the workouts are 30 min. and not high impact using weights, yoga, pilates & circuit w/o's. They just put out a new 21 day fix extreme program that seems to be high impact or Hiit. They look like they aren't as hard as Cathe's but still seem interesting to me as a good mix w/harder workouts. Wow, 3 ribs must have been so painful. They didn't give DH x-rays because they said it didn't matter because they can't do anything for broken ribs anyway, but I would have liked to know. Take care of your shoulder.

Waves hi to everyone

Goodnight:)

Good morning,

RWH - Low Impact Hiit One is done. I don't know if I mention it here? Tracey Mallet is having a 60 Day Challenge for $177 :( You get 10 workout (they all digital/no downloads) and a eating program. I was doing her IGNITE workout and really liked it. But I can buy so many different workout programs for $177:D Today is the last day to sign up. What do you think? :p

Kirstin - there has to be somewhere …..you can get your son checked out without paying that much? Call the state or ask the school? That's ridiculous! Hope you can figure something out.

Debbie - I do want the 21 Day Fix set, but I keep telling myself I don't need it.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in today. BBL!

'Morning!
Belinda, you're going to be down to invisible if you keep getting all those steps and workouts in. I like Tracey and don't know about those workouts but it is $$$. I have a couple of her dads and enjoy them.
Kristin, wonder if a local uni has someone who does it on the side. The district will have to have an eval done by a psychologist anyway, but you can contact your insurance carrier. Of course, ours is Anthem which was hacked. I've been trying to contact them for two weeks since all of a sudden our claims are being denied, but it takes so long to wait on the line. Aiming to try again today.
Deb, is your dh taking any thing for the pain? How's your migraine? Hope it is gone. The earlier 21 day would be more my style - lately I'm wanting/needing less impact.
Waving hi to Wendy and Amelia!
Ended up not feeling well yesterday and slept from 4 pm t 6 am this morning. Think it is like the flu or something. Wicked headache and fever, so I took the day off. Tuesdays are the worst day for me to not be there since I facilitate discussions all day long, but oh well. Hoping to get a bit of energy to do some work, get hold of health insurance company, and order a wedding shower gift for a friend's daughter. If I get 5K in steps today that will be amazing.
Cookie

Hi Ladies!

Back at it last night with RWH Legs. That is such a great workout. But man, my legs were BLASTED by the very last exercise. Couldn't finish the left side, LOL.

Cookie-GAH NO NOT FLU!! Sending big healing hugs and thoughts your way.

Kristin-My heart just broke reading your posts. How can insurance not cover something like that? One idea for you, and I don't know how viable it is-but is there a university anywhere near you who does testing as part of their teaching for students at a lower cost? Might be worth investigating. But it is gut wrenching to be told something you need for your child's HEALTH isn't covered under insurance. It's hard enough to think about your child having this diagnosis, but then to find out how much it costs to get testing done is horrible. I'm so sorry.

Belinda-I'm always intrigued by the 21 Day Fix, but I could never do the container part. That would drive me crazy. ;-)

Debbie-Do you have chronic migraines? I hope your husband is feeling better today.

:) Wendy

Evening! I just finished Hiit Plyo 2 and abs one. I love plyo hiit 2. Took Baxter to the dog park when I got home from work. He ran around for a good half hour. Then it got unbearably cold so we left, lol. I cannot wait for warmer weather.

Got another quote from another place. They want $3500 :confused::confused:o_O:eek::confused: I spoke with my school psychologist and she suggested going through the school testing first, which doesn;t test dyslexia, but a lot of times they will see it through the testing and he will qualify for services. Plus, most kids get tested at 8, and my DS is only 6. After speaking with DH, I think this is the route we will go. DH is still taking DS to our pediatrician tomorrow to see what she has to say about it.

Wendy- this whole thing is very frustrating. I may be jumping the gun with the kind of testing I want done. I think we need to take it one step at a time, which is hard to do when it is your kid, you know?

Deb- the insurance company gave us the run around yesterday. I am hoping the doctor will have a good suggestion tomorrow. Sorry DH is in so much pain.

Belinda- that seems pricey, but I am not familiar with the instructor.

Cookie- insurance companies suck! Are you off next week? I am soooo looking forward to a week off.

Kristin
