Commit to Get Fit and Lean - Monday, September 12th

Well not to put a damper on the thread here....but it's been a rough couple of days. I had to put my cat to sleep late Saturday night. :( 8 years with my baby, and it all happened so fast. I brought her into emergency care, I noticed for a couple of days that she was off sleeping all the time on her own in the dark corners of the basement, and her breathing was becoming more labored. She had some disease I can't even pronounce where water fills up in the cavity around the lungs. Finding the root cause of that meant a slew of tests and specialists....and then from there medications or chemo. I couldn't do it. I couldn't run her into the ground with this....or me. :( Even just draining the fluid would only last a day, two at most. They did drain so she would feel better to spend some time with me before I let her go. And she is home with me in her casket, we'll bury her tonight when I get home from work.

I think each day will get better, I know I did the right thing! No second guessing, I"m just so sad. And I know it's something most of us have probably been through!!

Helene- That is so awesome about the angry birds with the kids. You two are simply amazing and creative!! :D Yes....I'll come up soon! Maybe this weekend?? I think I have Saturday off, and not sure what time i get out on Friday.

I'll bb with more personals tonight!! It'll be a quiet night at home......

Have a great day ladies!

Ohhhh...and to end with something less sad to talk about.....guess who came into the store on Saturday.....DG!!!!!!!! I was SO MAD .....  And we were busy. He came in for a case..... YEAH RIGHT!

Iris- (((((HUGS)))))). I know exactly what you are going through. When I was 29 I had to put my cat down and I had had him since I was 14! :( It was a really tough decision, but the right one. Cats are proud animals, mine was especially proud. He had heart disease, his hear was 3 times bigger than the normal cat heart. He couldn't even go to the bathroom without getting dizzy, so he would go to the litterbox and then run out before he "finished his business." It was awful. It will get easier. Just remember you did the right thing.

Helene- I joined MFP, but I am having a hard time finding all of you. My screenname is the same :)

Deb- I remember being in the classroom (my third year). My principal announced that a plane went through the WTC, and I just thought she meant private jet, maybe a drunken pilot or something. I mean, how do you not see the twin towers? Then when the bell rang, my friend told me we were being attacked. . . never in a million years thought it could ever happen on U.S. soil. Just craziness!

BBL,

Kristin

Morning ladies!!

Hope you all had a great weekend. The girl's activities start this week, but we spent most of Saturday just running around getting everything ready:confused:! Sunday was more relaxing, got a chance to take the kids to the park to ride their bikes. There's a fitness area in this park and DH was assisting me with chin ups:eek:. Man, if I'm ever able to do one of those unassisted, I will officially be a super star in my book! Yesterday's wo was LM and this morning was D22 + D24 (no deadlifts) + 30/30 (no warm up) + BM2 Abs.

Iris - OMG...has it even been a week since you told him to get lost?? I think you may be stuck with him forever! I also went through something similar was you with my kitty, Speckle in 2001. It was extremely difficult because I had to do it the week after a miscarriage so I felt like I lost two babies..I don't even want to think about it. Take care of yourself. And, ITA, you did the right thing.

Kristin - Sent you a friend request:) I remember where I was, too (I guess it's one of those things you'll never forget and will be telling your grandkids). I was on my way in to NYC on the bus when the first one hit. We actually saw the smoke as we went around the helix at the lincoln tunnel. By the time I got to port authority the second plane had hit. I immediately went to catch another bus home but they weren't allowing buses to leave NY (at least to NJ). My BFF worked a few blocks from me so we met up and got in her car and headed to GWB. At some point they opened the bridge (not at all sure why), and we were able to leave. We were so scared and thankful to be out of NYC.

Belinda - I'm glad you are getting such great care. Hope the ENT has good news for you.

Helene - Our meet the teacher night is on Wednesday. But Amaya's new teacher is her old 2nd grade teacher, so I already know what to expect;) Great idea on the angry birds! I think my girls would love that;)

Deb - Nice job on your SS/PP wo. I've meaning to get back to the workout manager to put somethings together...thanks for the reminder;)

Hello to all followers!

Hello everyone,

Iris: I am so sorry :( I can only send sympathy your way and lots of hugs. I had to put down two kitties recently. One had a big lump on the shoulder and they wanted $1000 to diagnose what it was (likely cancer) and then there's no telling what the treatment would have cost. It was a 14 yo cat and we just couldn't justify it. Hardest thing to do ever but I am convinced it was the right thing. Long story but I know how you feel. :(:(:(:(:( At least there is **old** reliable DG. And yes, you can tell him your friends call him old. That would probably get a rise out of him.

Trish: So sorry about you heartbreak. :( I am glad you have a full life now. Crazy about taking a bus into NYC on that day. I kept tickets from when we went and visited the tower..... on 8/11......

Kristin: I sent you a friend request this morning. My meet the teacher is on Wednesday as well. Can't wait to meet her actually. Knowing you has made me more eager to meet teachers. :) I guess we are all cat ladies still checking in. Where are all the dog ladies?!

Deb: I like the mix of workouts you have. Wish I could tag along. Is everything getting back to normal with these past few sunny days?

Belinda: I hope you are feeling just a little better today. :( Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi to everyone else.

Well I am not working part time but I could not get rid of my night meetings so I am listening to one as I type this.

I was off today and got a good workout in (CLX lean circuit 3 and step moves) but I think I agravated my neck again. Better tonight with aleve, aspercreme and the heating pad. I think tomorrow (since I am off too :p ) I will go to the gym and do a walking/high incline interval workout on the treadmill and maybe some stepmill. That should be OK. But I want to workout and be fit by the end of this year. Is that too much to ask?!

Good night to all. Hugs again Iris. :(

Hi all! Just finished ME express workout. I am proud of myself because I really didn't want to workout. Just feeling tired and I think TOTM is coming. Anyway, I did the warmup and I was all in, lol.

Helene- My meet the teacher night for Nikolas is tomorrow. I am excited to meet his teacher as well. He really likes her, which makes me like her already, lol. I am such a cat person. . . my boys keep asking for a dog. I just don't think I could ever get one though.

Okay, watching Housewives of BH and heading to bed.

Hi,

Hmmm, I almost wasn't the last one to post tonight;) I went to the flood zone stores today & they are dried out but lots of rugs pulled up & dust all over. This week we have our big holiday set-up in Jersey City not too happy to be so close to the Holland Tunnel.

When I came home Jillian's new w/o came Killer Buns & Thighs (did level 1) it is very similar set-up to JM 30 day shred but legs & has the same cast. It was pretty good especially at $8.99.

Belinda - I hope all is well with you.

Iris - So sorry about your cat, it's so hard and we get so attached to our pets:( LOL at DG showing up, didn't think he would be that quick.

Kristin - It's amazing hearing everyone's stories as to where they were. One of the saddest stories was of a 10 yr. old boy who spoke at the Memorial & never even got to meet his Dad.

Trish - Your energy is amazing, great workouts. Wow, on your story of 9/11, I couldn't even imagine how you felt that day.

Helene - Once you get used to having a few days off, I bet the night meetings won't be so bad.

Hi Amelia, Melissa, Cookie & Lori

Goodnight:)
