Commit to get Fit and Lean for January 2014

Good morning,

Had a lot of fun in DC with my kids:D I came home late to check in.

Yesterday ended up being a rest day. Today I will double up on P90X3. I will do YogaX and if my husband isn't to tired we will do The Challenge too?

Cookie - I am fine! Thanks for asking. Glad your calf is doing better. I guess all that yoga is helping. How do you like Jessica Smith's HiiT workout.

Debbie - sorry about your mom's heat. That stinks! Hope they fixed it by now? Good job on the GS yesterday and your endurance will built up soon;) I think you will like the shorter workouts (P90X3). I have not followed the nutrition plan yet:eek: I may start next week. DH is thinking about it….

Amelia - 4DS are my favorite from all Cathe's workouts. Have fun!

Melissa - NO, it's not mean! I bet your parents feel the same way:eek: I love being around my kids, but I am also glad to have some me time. I will keep your friend in my thoughts and prayers (((HUGS)) I have the original P90X, but never done all the workouts, DH likes it!

Kirstin - you must be busy with work? I agree with Cookie about you walking your dog in this weather. I am also a chicken. Too cold for me. My dogs really need that walk.

Lori - good for you getting up so early and getting your workouts in. That's commitment:p How many hours a day do you workout out?

I will be back after my workout. Have a wonderful day and workout.

Hey guys! Yesterday was a rest day for me because I had my first session of the teacher course I am teaching. I was extremely nervous and did not sleep well Tuesday night, but I think I hit it out of the park. A few people told me they really enjoyed it and that they were impressed by how much they were getting out of just one session. Two more teachers want to sign up now! I have to give them make up assignments, but I think that says a lot. I was very flattered.

DS had his basketball game tonight, so we got home at 8, but I was determined to get in my workout as I have been on a good streak since the break. I did PRS #2. This workout may be my favorite step workout. I love how the combos are fun but intense, how there are new moves with some of my favorite old moves, and how the combo breakdown is not overly long. I also love, love, love all the songs, especially the Madonna "Get into the Groove" soundalike and the Lady Gaga "Born this Way" soundalike. THe music got me through the workout because I was tired.

Deb- how'd your mom make out with the heat. It is warm here at 24 degrees, lol. I can imagine how cold she must have been last night.

Melissa- So sorry to hear about your friend. I am sending prayers his way. . .

Sometimes I have to take a break from my parents when I am with them, and I do not do sleepovers there, lol. Sometimes I can only do small doses, lol. I feel guilty too at times, especially because of my mom's condition, but it's normal. I'm sure there are times they cannot wait for me to go home, haha.

Belinda- I didn't walk Baxter the last three days, but I took him out in the backyard for short "bursts." Today was the first day I walked him. It was much warmer, even though it was still in the 20s:confused:

Cookie- glad to hear your calf is easing up. I hate having cramping or DOMs in my calves.

Amelia- you seem to be on a streak of good eating and working out, which is what counts, not so much the number on the scale. I have to remind myself of that all the time too. Keep it up!

Waving hi to Lori.

Kristin
Lori-

Evening, ladies! Today I did one of the plyo leg workouts from STS and ab circuits no equipment abs. Yesterday I attempted Party Rockin Step #1; what a disaster that was! I didn't even attempt the challenge at the end when she puts it all together cuz I knew it would be a lost cause

The date went surprisingly well! He was beyond my expectations, which rarely ever happens lol. He's very sweet and easy to talk to, and extremely open and honest which is refreshing. We wound up going to Starbucks for coffee, but they kicked us out when they closed. Neither of us wanted to go home, so we went to the diner until 2AM  We both agreed we want to see each other again, so that is a good sign. He texted me today: another good sign. I hope this one works out. Fingers crossed!

Amelia, have you tried logging your workouts in the WM calendar? I like putting them there cuz I can see everything I've done for the month in one spot. Nice job on the eating and getting all your workouts in! :D

Deb, I need to get my hands on the GS workouts. Oh no, hopefully your mom stays warm! I think it's supposed to warm up tomorrow.

Cookie, great job getting a WO in, even if it's not Cathe. It's still awesome! :)

Belinda, glad to hear you enjoyed the day in DC! Nice work on Yoga X; that one is tough!

Kristin, that is so great about the teaching program! CONGRATS!!! I might have to get PRS #2. I liked PRS #1, but I felt like it was ALL new moves, and I was just not getting it haha.

Waving hi to Lori!!

We are leaving for VT tomorrow, bright and early, so I'm not sure if I will get a chance to check in. If not, enjoy the weekend and I will "see" you girls Sunday!

Hi,

I took a yoga class today in almost a month & kept thinking why didn't I just do a couple of poses each day because I was so tight & felt like starting over again:confused: Also my cold is hanging in there so not at 100%

My Mom's heat finally came on this afternoon, but not after losing sleep last night & worrying. She said it wasn't too cold especially with the portable heater but she really couldn't leave because they couldn't give her a time or at least a range when they could come:mad: To make matters worse her back-up battery died on her internet, home phone & TV so she told me she caught up with reading.

Belinda - I forgot you were going to DC, glad you had fun. Is YogaX only 30 min. too?

Kristin - So do you give homework to the teachers:eek:? Kudos on getting your workout in.

Cookie - UY is a good workout maybe it will help stretch your muscle.

Melissa - My boys were telling me (which you may know) that their is a company Chegg.com where you can rent books. It seems like a scam (at the bookstores) that the books are reprinted every couple of years so it's hard to get used books:confused:

Waves hi to Amelia & Lori

Goodnight:)

Cardio & weights done this morning, time for work now. I will check back in later tonight with personals.:)

Good afternoon,

Sorry I didn't check in this morning. Had a busy morning.

Never got my second workout in yesterday, day was crazy:confused:

At 6 a.m. DH and I did P90X3 yoga, I already walked the dogs for 45 min. Getting ready to do STS D12 and this evening DH and I will do P90X3 CVX.

I will drink my cup of tea, than off to D12;)

Cookie - how are you doing today?

Amelia - nice job this morning.

Debbie - yes, ALL workouts in P90X3 are 30 min, some run like 34 min w/warm up and cool down. Before you know it, the time is up:D Glad your mom's heat is on again.

Melissa - a lot of people complained about the Party Rockin Step, hang it there! I didn't do the original yoga X, the yoga X3 is double and the end it's tough.

Kirstin - congrats on the teacher course! Thanks to you, I took my dogs for a nice long walk, lol! It's 37' today, not to bad.

Where is Lori:D

Better get moving! BBL!

Belinda-Wow, two workouts a day? You are really working it! Any particular reason why your doing 2 a day ? Awesome job with it.

Melissa-Nice job on your workout and yay on the date! I will cross my fingers with you;) I decided to log my workouts into the WM calender this month and commit to it. I decided to not log my workouts on my blog anymore since its becoming a hassle. Do you link your WM calender with facebook?

Debbie-Glad to hear you moms heat is back on, she must me one tough lady:) Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Kristin- ^5's on getting your workout yesterday, I know how hard it is after a long day so good for you!!

Cookie- Glad your calf is better. We finally got some bearable temps and think we are going to be close to the 50's this weekend with rain & drizzle. Hows your weather?

Ok girls, that does it for me. I will try and check in in the morning or Sunday. Have a great weekend

Good evening,

P90X3 The Challenge is done = this workout consist of pull ups and push ups back to back:eek: I did all the push ups on my toes:p Feeling DOMS in my back already. I will push STS D12 to Sunday, my legs need a break. Next week is a recovery week from STS.

Amela - lets see…..I didn't workout out on Wednesday. Yesterday DH and I didn't do P90X3 either:rolleyes: I hate being behind a workout schedule, so I decided to double up on P90X3 today and tomorrow to catch up. Why I do STS and P90X3 together….I just can't bring myself to stop doing STS since I am almost done with M1, I have 2 more month to go:p I started P90X3 with DH 2 weeks ago and love it. It's a nice variety of workouts and it's challenging.

I will see you in the morning. Good night.

Hi everyone. TGIF! What a day I had. My car had a flat tire today. I didn't know. Luckily, it went flat after I got to work. My friend and co-teacher in my inclusion class called my classroom to tell me. Rich, the social studies teacher on my team, was kind enough to put my donut on for me. I had to go to the tire shop a few blocks down from my school. The guy asked me if I could come back tomorrow and when I told him how far away I lived he was stunned. I told him I have the town sticker for beaches on the car to prove it, lol. He then patched the tire and put it on for me. I gave him a $20 for his help.

Anyway.. . this weather and this week exhausted me. I was going to skip working out tonight, but I am on a role and finally have been working out six days a week since Christmas break started, so I did not want to ruin my streak. I did Flex Train. I love this workout too. I like it even better than Supercuts. I like that it is metabolic at times, but really a great upper body workout as well, and my legs during those firewalkers, YOWZA.

I am hoping to catch a good movie while DH and the boys watch wrestling in the den .

Belinda- it has been raining freezing rain and ice all day here. No walk for Baxter, poor pup. He demands to be played with though, so he gets his energy out, lol. I checked out P90X3, and I am interested, but I don't have the $ to spare right now. Maybe down the line.

Amelia- nice job with cardio and weights, an oldie but goodie, that is for sure. Don't work too hard this weekend!

Melissa- the date sounds promising. I like that he texted you the next day. . . I saw your post on facebook. Burst pipe? That stinks. Hope it is not ruining your trip.

Deb- no homework for the teachers, lol. I got a lot of great feedback though, like I said. I am happy with how it is going so far. I am glad I put myself out there this year.

Waving hello to Lori.

Good night,

Kristin

'evening!
Belinda, glad things are okay with you. Just not like you to have not checked in. I'm going to have to google p90x and check it out. Sort workouts would definitely fit my schedule. How do you like the instructor?
Melissa, this guy sounds good - particularly about him texting the next day. How's skiing?
Lori, where are you running around to?
Amelia, much better temperatures for you. Okay, starting Sunday my eating is going to be so good. Think I'm going to dramatically reduce my consumption of fruit due to the carbs. I really think the sugar in it can't be helping me, esp. since I really don't eat processed foods. Does Tom Venuto speak about low carbs in the book? I can't remember.
Kristin, great job on the pd! I know what you mean about keeping up a streak! What movie did you choose?
Deb, your poor mother and her heating situation. You must have been quite concerned about her. Did you manage to get yoga in again today?
Have one more day of presenting and traveling so will wait til I'm back home. Didn't have a chance to get a wo in today, and got to my room to discover I needed about 1,800 steps to make my goal for the day. So sure enough, I just walked back and forth to get there!
Cookie

Morning girls, It is pouring rain here and the dark gloomy color out is kinda scary.

So I've been doing pretty good on my eating lately and yesterday DH brought home some sherbet and I had two servings of it bringing my calories even further over an already over day. So today and tomorrow im cutting my calories by 200 a day to make up for it.

Belinda-Oh ok, I see why the double workouts. At least next week is a recovery week..that will give you a break. Nice job on the push ups on the toes.

Kristin-Glad you got your flat tire fixed. Nice job on your workout too, your doing awesome on the 6 days a week. So far this week I have done 4 workouts and I plan on working out tomorrow :) And like you, I plan on keeping this streak going!! :D

Cookie- Great job getting your steps in, have a safe trip. About the low carb..Tom Venuto suggest to watch the macro nutrients. He had a percentage that he said to stick too...I cant remember now:confused:.

Hello to Lori and Debbie. Im off to get ready for another day at work..gah. Im tired today - TTOM has really taken its toll :(

Hi ladies. I have a lot to do this weekend, prepping for work, grading and of course, laundry and cleaning. I got up early to get a head start and I was able to walk Baxter for a nice, long walk before the rain started. I just finished Rockout Knockout. I liked it a lot more the second time around. I like the new moves too. I guess the first time I wasn't sure of the pace and some of the punches, but this time it seemed easier to "get".

Anyway. . . nothing else new. Really glad it warmed up a bit. Now if only the rain would go away :)

Amelia- every day is a new day with clean eating :). I have to get my food under control. I feel like I am craving sugar all the time now :/. I read somewhere that the more sugar we eat, the more our body craves it. I really need to cut down, lol.

Cookie- I ended up watching one of my favorite movies last night, FAr and Away with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. I fell asleep halfway through it though, lol. I can never stay up after 10 on Fridays. . . pathetic I know. I think I work myself to exhaustion during the week and this week was a bit rough to say the least.

Belinda- all push ups on your toes, you go!!! I still cannot do more than 10 push ups on my toes and bothers me to no end, lol.

Okay, I gotta get back to work while the kids are still entertaining themselves.

Kristin

Good afternoon,

DH and I took the dogs for a 45 min walk this morning, glad we did now it's raining. We just finished P90X3 CVX and The Warrior. The Warrior was tough after yesterday's workout, this one had a lot of push up too.

Cookie - I think you would like P90X3, 30 min that's it! The workouts are tough, but not to the point were you feel wiped out. Have you ever bought from Beachbody.com? I buy their workouts but not though their website. They want to much money for shipping/taxes:eek: I order all my BB products through Totalfitness.com. Mary is fantastic! I been ordering from her since Germany.

Kirstin - sorry about your flat tire. Glad he could help! My back is sore today from all those pull ups/push ups! Good job on your walk and Rockout Knockout today. I usually do push ups on my knees, but I couldn't look like a wimp in front of my husband:p LOL! If I see P90X3 on sale somewhere, I will let you know. Groupon.com has P90X2 half price:eek:

Amelia - I am sure you are fine. Go for a extra walk, you will be fine. Don't stress to much, we all slip once in awhile. Life is short;) Next week, I have a week of STS but not P90X3:D When are you gonna do P90X?

Where is Debbie?

I need to get something in my stomach. All that working out, made me hungry!

I will be back in the morning. Still need to do STS D12 tomorrow. Have a wonderful day and weekend.

'Evening!
Belinda, I'll have to check it out! The 30 minute part is what Interests me.
Amelia, omg, I ate a chicken Cesar wrap, the best choice of some available for lunch. I cannot believe how many calories, I'm just eating edamame and an apple for dinner! Deducting 200 a day just wouldn't work for me. It's pouring here.
Kristin, you did have a particularly challenging week". No heat, flat tire, bad weather, ... Hope you've got relaxing on that to-do list.
Melissa, hope you're having a blast.
Deb, hope all is well.
I'm at the Newark airport waiting for a connecting flight home. The weather has wrecked havoc on flights. Got in a Jessica Smith kb, hiit interval, and band workouts tjis morning. Trying to atone for the two stouts I drank last night.
Cookie

Hi,

I'm back, yesterday I did GS chest & tri's my arms are hurting today. I decided to take today off because I'm feeling so sore from taking so much time off from workouts. We went to dinner last night.

The weather here has been rainy but at least it's warmer. Looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow:)

Belinda - It's good that you were able to get the dogs out before the rain. With all the rain & snow melting it is so wet here.

Kristin - It sounds like you are real busy this weekend. That was so nice that your co-worker changed your tire for you, not sure I would know how to do it.

Amelia - I was thinking today when your in the house during the winter months it is harder not to reach for something sweet. Great job with cutting back the next day.

Cookie - You were so close to me, probably your DS too. I'm sure you didn't want to be stuck in the airport but Newark does have lots of places to eat & browse. Actually I guess it depends on what terminal you are in "C" is the best.

Waves hi to Melissa & Lori

Goodnight:)

Good morning,

Plan for today is: walking the dogs and STS D12!

Cookie - if you decided to get the set, I would check out Beachbody.com and Totalfitnessdvds.com for a price comparison. For some reason, I always would end up paying more at BB.com than going through Mary (she is a BB coach). Just a thought;) Are you doing JS's workouts from youtube or a dvd? How do you like her?

Debbie - glad you are back! How is your arm feeling today? Don't push it, ok!

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me. BBL!

Good morning ladies! Yesterday I did Super Cuts + Core 2 premix. Today I think I'm gonna do LIS LIC. Then I'm meeting my girl friends for coffee in the afternoon and going to dinner with my parents after we pick my mom up from the airport.

We had to come home yesterday from VT: got to the house Friday and my dad's like "what's that sound?"...walked into the house and it looked like Niagra Falls. Apparently my cousin left his window open last weekend and with that deep freeze/thaw, the pipes burst. There is so much water damage so they need to gut the entire place. We didn't even get to ski once :(

I might have shot myself in the foot with the new guy. We were talking last night, making plans for when we are gonna hang out again, and he's like "Did you delete your profile?" and I said "I disabled it. Why?" and he goes "Well I was gonna go on to look at your pics again and see your smile; I know, I'm cheesy. Deal with it" so I said "I didn't see the point in keeping it up since I'm not really interested in talking to anyone else right now" and he didn't respond  It's not like I broadcasted that I was removing it, he found out on his own; it's not like I'm saying we are bf/gf either. I am very old fashioned and have never been into the dating/seeing multiple people at the same time, so what is the point of talking to another dude? And this is why I suck at dating in the 21st century!

Deb, yes! Tell your boys if they can rent textbooks, do that over buying. I always thought buying was better cuz then I can keep copies and refer to them later, but that never happens. And the renting companies make it so easy to return the books! Nice job on the UB DOMS!

Belinda, I admire you for getting double workouts in! How many push-ups can you do in a row on your toes? I'm working on my PU endurance: right now it stinks lol  I love Mary's site too; she always has awesome prices! I haven't been there in a long time. Maybe if I get some birthday money I will pick up Cathe's GS.

Amelia, yep I link FB and the WM. People are probably tired of all my workout posts but I don't care :p Are you still working on the blog?

Kristin, I always said I should learn how to change a tire and never actually learned  The guy who patched your tire sounds very nice. AWESOME job on getting your 6 workouts in! You are seriously inspiring me; when we got home last night, all I wanted to do was sit on the couch like a lump but I geared myself up for a workout. THANKS! :D The trip wasn't the best but I'm glad I got to spend time with my dad, so there was a silver lining.

Cookie, do you do a lot of traveling for your job? Nice job getting some workouts in while you're away. Yeah this was a bad weekend to fly; my mom flew to VA Friday and she was delayed about 2 hrs. Guess it could have been worse. Have a safe trip back!

Lori, where you at?! Waving hello :)

Alright, off to workout and then do Laundry Max...UGH lol. Enjoy your Sunday, ladies!

'Morning!
Belinda, I'll have to check into it further. What I really need is the time for all the ones I currently have; guess that's why the 30 min length is intriguing me.
Amelia, I've been good so far today, and it is 12 hours in! Of course, I did sleep a bit during that time which really helped me not to eat! How are you doing?
Kristin, you are so lucky to have that colleague! Did you get a lot of paperwork done yesterday. I sat and organized my to-do list, prioritized and all that, so now I feel I know what I have to do. Doing it is another matter.
Melissa, that's terrible about the pipes bursting. And that was a long drive. Don't worry about deleting your profile, he probably just was not understanding your reasoning. You know how guys worry about commitments. I usually travel about once a month, sometimes twice, but a lot during the summer, for work.
Lori, how are you doing? Hope you're enjoying the weekend.
Deb, it is so hard to get back into working out again. I must have been somewhat near you. My ds was away for the weekend. The flight ended up being delayed by 3.5 hours, got home at 1:30. Next time I'm requesting a direct flight. Did get in a lot of steps walking around to stay awake!
DH went to do grocery shopping so I could work on a state ed report. Plan on walking with him and the dogs this afternoon, and hopefully even get in X10.
Cookie

Hey girls, quick check in

KPC intermediate drills + combo 1 & 2 done after work today. Im dripping wet with sweat. Guess what? Today's workout makes 5 workouts this week FIVE!!:cool::D Im so proud of myself. Im on a roll girls...

I will bb tonight or in the morning to catch up with personals. Off to hope in the shower then out to eat. We're going to Applebee's!! I love there under 550 calorie menu :)

Hi ladies. I just finished my workout. I did AT, cardio legs premix, and then I added the bonus barre from Xtrain legs. The combo proved to be a great workout. My legs should be feeling some DOMs tomorrow. I'm about halfway done with my to do list, which I guess is good. I hate that I've spent almost the entire weekend having no fun, lol. There's always next weekend.

Today DH took DSs to a birthday party. When they left, I was outside with Baxter in the backyard. Well, one of them locked the backdoor before they left so Bax and I were locked out. To make matters worse, my cell phone was in the house. I walked down the block, but it seems all my neighbors were out for the day and I didn't want to walk far and leave Baxter in the backyard by himself when I am not near. That puppy eats all kinds of sticks and twigs. . . you have to stay close and watch him lol. He'll choke himself otherwise. Anyway. . . with no one around to borrow a phone from, I decided I would try to break in through the sliding glass door. I lift the door up and then slide it opened. It took me five minutes to do this and the door and lock are still in tact. I am proud of myself for being able to do this, but also quite terrified how easy it was to do. At night we always put a large stick in the door, so that if someone were to unlock it, it would still not open, but still. . . pretty scary how easy it was to open with it being "locked."

Belinda- it is funny you said that about the push ups with your DH. I feel whenever DH is walking by or even in earshot, I cannot crumble and keep going. .. even when I feel like I cannot do another rep or jump, lol. Too funny how we are like that. I wonder if the men feel the same way. If so, my DH gives up easily hahaha.

Cookie- relaxing may not happen at all this weekend, but I am thinking maybe when the kids are in bed tonight, I'll have a glass of wine and some popcorn. There is a new miniseries on HBO starting tonight with Woody Harrelson that I want to watch. Hopefully the boys will pass out.

Deb- I have no clue how to change a tire. I am thankful tha the did it; especially with the ice and rain that day.

Melissa- I wouldn't worry about you making that comment. You were honest and if he likes you as much as it seemed on that first date, he was probably flattered and even happy you said that. Time will tell. . .

Waving hello to Amelia and Lori!

Back to work for me.

Kristin
