Commit to get Fit and Lean for January 2014

4DS bootcamp and biceps & triceps done today - I forgot how high impact that bootcamp is, gesh  Even after modifying it I hope my feet and knees don't hurt tonight

Belinda- Here is a link to Tom Venuto's book, it describes it a lot better than I could, lol. Thanks for the hugs, I'm doing a lot better now. I was taking an antidepressant but ive been off it for over a year now.
My mom and sister aren't much for talking to about those types of things - they just don't get it. My hubby has helped the most, im very grateful for him :)

Melissa- I agree, that is bad. I would love to move to Florida - sounds so nice. we have talked about moving to the Ga coast since my hubbies job has a warehouse down there. Maybe after the kids are out of school. Awesome job on your workouts!!

Good evening,

DH and I did P90X3 Total Synergistics after he come home from work.

Melissa - good job on your DOMS. My kids are close, if the need something. I may go to DC on Wednesday and hang out with them:eek: My plan is to do a full 3.5 month rotation of STS plus the full 90 day Classic P90X3 rotation:D That is so cool, that your brother bought the original P90X for you;)

Amelia - no problem! Anytime you need to talk, I am here for you! I am glad you can talk to your husband. He is a keeper! Thanks for the link, I will check it out. Good job on 4DS BC BT.

Cookie - hope all is well. How are you feeling? How was your first day off school?

Debbie - have fun with your yoga this evening. Hope the traffic wasn't to bad in NYC today.

I will be back in the morning. Good night, ladies.

Hey guys. First day back at work was just awful. First of all, I woke at 5:15. . . nothing is ever good when you have to wake up at 5:15, am I right? Plus, I didn't sleep well. I never sleep well the night before returning to work. Okay, I manage to get myself ready and out the door. I couldn't even see my car. . . that is how thick and dense the fog and darkness was at the time I left. I could barely see the car in front of me the whole way to work. Then, a power line was down by the high school and I didn't think much of it. . . that is until the POWER went out during 3rd period. Have you ever been in a room of 30 13 year-olds during a power outage? Dear God! Power did not go back on until 8th period. I could not even heat up my lunch!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Plus out of all my classes, 8th period is my worst, my "get through the 40 minutes" if you will. Well, we had an EXTENDED 8th period because the buses were late due to the power line still being down. I was so tired when I can home.

Thankfully, DH took the boys to a birthday party, so I had the house to myself. I relaxed and then played with the dog. I was going to skip my workout, but forced myself into doing it. I did X10, Cardio Blast, plus AC yoga abs. I am glad I did it. That is a fun, short, intense workout. I was really sweaty at the end. That will be my go to workout when I don't feel like working out. You can do anything for 25 minutes, lol.

So. .. this polar vortex thing. . . it is supposed to be 10 degrees tomorrow and the roads are all wet from all the rain today. I am going to be ice skating to work tomorrow. Plus, if the line is still down, we might lose power again, which will mean no heat in 11 degree weather. Should be interesting. I feel as though it is at least Wednesday, sadly I know that is not the case. Not even halfway to the weekend. Sigh!

Deb- you are lucky you are off this week. This is a great week to stay home. I hate the cold. This is ridiculous! Can you imagine being an explorer going to the North or South Pole? Never would I be able to do that, never ever. Oh, wait, I just reread your post. You have to go to NY today. Better today than tomorrow in the frigid cold, right? I hope you can be off the rest of the week.

Lori- push ups are nearly impossible for me when I have DOMs in the shoulders or chest. How'd you make out? I avoid a number of people at work because I cannot stand them. I feel sorry for the students that must put up with them, lol.

Belinda- I remember that race challenge. Why would people lie about that? It is so crazy to me.

Amelia- we got his report and started paying debts that went into collection because when DH was 20 he just took out store cards and never paid them. Yea, he was a bit of an idiot back then. Anyway, after paying the debts, he opened up a card, put little incidentals on it and then paid the card on time. Then he got a car loan, which after making monthly payments on time raised his score. The first step is to see what is on the report. I read that to have excellent credit, you should only be using 30% of your allotted credit limit on the credit card, which I think is nearly impossible these days. I would suggest paying off credit cards first. Installment loans being paid off in advance raise your score too, but I think credit cards, paying them off, paying more than the minimum due, keeping balances low, is the key. I'm not an expert though. There are a lot of good websites that gives suggestions on how to improve your score, just don't pay for anything on them.

Melissa- sadly too many people have issues with their in-laws. I plan on being an awesome MIL because I want to see my boys and grandchildren often. I will kiss the girl's ass to keep my boys close, lol. Have fun skiing, is the weather going to warm up by then up there?

Cookie- how was your first day back?

Okay, off to decompress.

Kristin

Evening!
Belinda, I'm sure you'll be a wonderful mil. What is the Synergetics you're mixing in with P90? 30 minute workouts sound great.
Melissa, lucky you skiing with your dad. How is your mom, aunt and uncle doing? I think you're smart to google him, esp. since he gave you info.
Amelia, depression is such a terrible illness. Do you find exercise and nutrition affect it? My eldest son is a car salesman, and from him I've heard him talk about improving credit. First: pay off outstanding doctor and utility bills; 2nd, pay down credit cards regularly. Trust me, he had terrible credit.
Lori, do you use a crockpot to help with meals during the week? I love mine.
Kristin, what a bad day, and on the first one back. The kids are crazy enough the first day w/o losing power. You also must have been cold.
Deb, how was NYC? Will you be able to relax the rest of this week?
My calf is a lot better now. Did yoga again this morning, which helped limber it up. Still sensitive to touch but once I get moving, I'm alright.
Who would believe we'e all talking about temperatures in the single digits?!! From Canada to Georgia...
Cookie

Hey Gals!

Just rocking my crazy baby to sleep! Today's workouts was warrior and most of afterburn. I also did and before all of that. I have to in the morning to wake myself up.

Belinda** DH is doing it to but we aren't doing it together ....maybe I should rephrase that and put P90X in there...lol. I just asked if he was working out tonight and he said that he didn't think so. Lol. He's to sore, poor baby. My hips even hurt today. I liked today's workout as well. 1 week down.

Melissa** it's to bad you didn't live closer. There's some hot cops around here ;). I'd love to hear the story about your crazy date in the meantime. Did you buy anything at the mall? I'm working for a company called site energy. They are Into oil and construction. I enjoy it. I like most of the ppl there...just not all. Christmas time they gave me a $1500 bonus and a $2 raise.

Kristin** I wake up at 5 every morning and I'm pretty much ready for bed now! Sounds like you had a rough start to your week but thank goodness for dh!!! Hopefully tomorrow will e better!

Cookie** lol the weather is a little crazy everywhere. Our family at home have been having power outage to conserve energy because there's a shortage. This is the first time it's ever happened apparently. So odd!

Ill bb tomorrow!

Lori

Hi,

I went to NYC today the girl I cover from is coming from Oklahoma and now just heard some flights were grounded:confused: I feel bad for her but maybe she made it in before that happened.

I think I'm going to start January rotation tomorrow & next month do P90X3/STS.

Belinda - It's really cold when the dogs don't even want to be outside:) Good luck with your results tomorrow.

Kristin - I have slipped 2x inside Macy's & train station on water but TG caught myself before falling to the ground. I feel bad you had such a bad day & tomorrow have to deal with the cold & ice:( Let's hope it's an early spring. Our electric went out last night but only for 10 minutes.

Amelia - There must be a run on blankets and warm clothes in your town! It must be such a shock to your body to feel so cold. I forgot to tell you today they were playing 50's music I never heard them do that but it was a nice change.

Melissa - Airfares last minute even for emergencies are so expensive:( The date sounds promising & don't blame you for checking out what he said.

Cookie - NYC was quiet I think the cold is scaring everyone either that or they are just tied of shopping:eek:

Lori - It's great that you like your boss & you never know how long the co-worker will last especially if she's talking & not working:p Your workouts are awesome.

Goodnight:)

Quick check in. Have a long day, early meeting, full day, and a dinner/evening meeting.
Amelia, we're all here for you. Was thinking of you during the night, and felt bad that I hadn't said that.
Lori, isn't it amazing how resilient females are compared to males, well at least in our group. The energy companies are probably doing the best with this crazy weather.
Deb, TG you have good balance! Are you home for the rest of the week?
UY cardio this morning. Still trying to baby my calf.
Cookie

Morning girls,

Today I will do AgilityX and maybe STS D11?

Cookie - sounds like you have a busy and long day today. Synergetics is a full body resistance workout featuring compound movements, which utilize multiple muscle groups in every exercise. The workouts are different, I really like it.

Debbie - holy crap, it's cold outside! It was so windy last night:eek: Where is the sunshine? Thanks for reminding me to call the doc about my results! LOL!

Lori - you got a nice bonus for xmas:D Fantastic! How many hours a day do you workout? You really amaze me with your workouts.

Kirstin - sorry you had such a horrible day yesterday. Hope your week gets better. Glad your workout helped. Why they don't close the schools if the power is out? It always amazes me what people do just to win a challenge:roll eyes: Crazy!

Hi Melissa and Amelia!

I will check in after my workouts.

Morning girls,

Today will be 4ds chest & back + some cardio after. Not sure what yet? Maybe Step Moves or Athletic Step..whichever one isn't so high impact ( I always get them confused)

Well, my knees and feet are ok today so maybe its all in my head? Maybe im a little tougher than I think I am...

Kristin-Awesome job pushing your self to workout after such a frustrating day. ^5's to YOU!! My power went out this morning for about a minute and my heart was in my throat - its only 7 degree's out. Luckily we have a fire place with lots of wood for emergencies :) Thanks for the advice - We just paid off our car and we're working on paying off a loan through a financial company. It should be paid off by June of this year. I'm hoping to get his credit score up this year. :)

Cookie-You are so sweet - Thank you for your kind words. I'm hanging in there for right now. Just had a hard time after the sudden and tragic death of my grandma about two years ago ( when my depression started) And thanks for the advice on the credit issues too. Glad to hear you calf is feeling a little better...great job on your yoga yesterday.

Debbie- I like 50's music so fun. In our store we play 'easy listening' music. I don't mind it...it is easy to listen too - lol :p. They played "he's so shy" by the Pointer Sisters I love that song. Everybody is doing P90x3...Maybe I should look into getting it too

Melissa- Exciting news on the skiing trip with your dad!! Sounds so fun:) Let us know how your date goes Wednesday...hopefully it turns out great. And I don't blame you for looking him up, you can never be too careful these days.

Lori- I was looking at pics the other day of my kids when they were babies. So hard to believe they were that little at one time. Enjoy your little one while he's little. :) Have a great workout today!!

Belinda-Have a great workout and thanks again for being here :)

Good evening,

P90X3 AgilityX and STS D11 is done.

Amelia - good job on your workout today. You are welcome!

Have a great evening.

Hi everyone. Today's workout was X10, premix X54 (step, low impact, fat burning circuit). What a workout. X10 is my favorite workout. It is perfection with a little bit of everything, and the ability to do so many different premixes. I really enjoyed the step segment.

I won't even mention how cold it is. . . OMG. Painful. How many days until spring arrives?

have not had much of a break today between work, preparing for my teacher course that starts tomorrow and then trying to wrap my head around this darn module. . . it is as thick as the Holy Bible, no joke. I am pretty wiped out. I already have DOMs creeping in my shoulders.

Belinda- great workout. How's your foot feeling?

Cookie- yesterday the room wasn't that cold. It was 55 over here and rainy, so the air was humid. Today it was cold in my room :(. DH had to drive to the city and he sad he felt so bad for the toll booth workers. Even with heaters they looked so cold.

Deb- you got P90X3 too? Uh oh, if everyone here starts doing that program, I might cave and buy it, lol. The January rotation looks great. I would do it, but I am trying to schedule my workouts according to my schedule (days off when I do the teacher course or son's basketball games, shorter workouts on weekdays, etc.

Amelia- great workout. It was 11 degrees here today. The heat is cranking in my house. My dog was running to go to the bathroom and I saw him slip across a frozen puddle in the backyard. His face was hysterical.

Melissa- are you getting ready for your ski trip?

Lori- I am not a morning person and never will be. I would do my workout in the morning if I could manage to walk without banging into something the first hour I'm awake, lol. You seriously cannot talk to me until coffee has gone through my system, my boys won't ask me for anything until my coffee cup is empty. I hate waking up when the sun isn't up yet too.

Okay, off to try to relax.

Kristin

'Evening!
Belinda, hope the results were positive and they figured things out.
Amelia, I'd be so tempted to sing some of those songs, but then my singing would scare away customers! 7 degrees is just crazy in Georgia!!! I've forgotten about Athletic Step - I like that one.
Kristin, hope today was much better. Guess it would be hard to have had it be worse. You are so good to be willing to walk your dog. Mine really needs a walk, but I am way too chicken.
Melissa, you sure are getting in a lot of workouts. Good for you.
Deb, hope you were able to stay in where it was warm today. I think the yoga has been helping my calf.
So, I skipped the dinner meeting. Yep. Now I'm feeling slightly guilty but I have a really long day again tomorrow and Thursday, so feel I need to conserve energy, esp. after being ill.
Did yoga this morning and Jessica Smith's new interval walking workout. Belinda was right once again: Jessica is fun.
Cookie

Hey ladies! How did everyone brave the cold weather today? I wasn't sure whether my car door was gonna be able to open lol! Today I did XTrain Bis & Tris, and Core #1. Did you guys find that the cases that XTrain and LIS came in are really flimsy? Both of mine broke and I had the DVDs sliding all over the place, and it's not like I dropped them or anything  Today I took an old CD book and threw both series in there and just tossed out the crappy cases they came in

Amelia, nice job on 4DS today! That is such a fun series. I'm nervous about the date. Last night we were talking and I'm like "So guess what I read today" and he goes "I dunno, what?" and I'm like "Your article in Urban Ink magazine" and he was literally shocked. First I was like oh crap he thinks I'm a psycho stalker but he said he was really impressed that I took the time to look up his work and then he goes "If I didn't have a reason to be completely interested in you, that just solidified it." So far so good, fingers are crossed

Kristin, at your day yesterday! What a way to be welcomed back, huh? How was it today, were you guys ok with the power? I'm surprised they kept the school open without it! I bet you will be a great MIL; I can't see you being mean to anyone :D The weather is supposed to be cold in VT Friday so we will probably get a decent day in then but then my dad said Sat is supposed to be close to 50 and rainy and then Sun is gonna be cold so there will be ice. UGH! I can't win lol. Let us know how your teacher course goes tomorrow! Good luck, you will do great! LOL I'm totally the same way: I need my coffee in the morning or else WWIII could break out at any time.

Cookie, my mom, aunt, and uncle are hanging in there, thanks for asking. I can't even imagine what it must be like to go through something like this first hand. Glad to hear your calf is feeling better! Don't feel guilty about skipping that meeting; I feel like you're always working lol! You deserve a break.

Lori, good for you for knocking your workouts out in the morning. I can't do that anymore. I feel like I need to gear myself up for them so either late afternoon/early evening is my time. OMG you mean the date from hell?! Basically I'm a princess b**** because I was mad that this psycho jerk lied to me about having a job, I expect my future husband to work when I can "probably provide for both of us," and because I drive a "rich girl car" (I drive a 2008 CIVIC of all things, and I bought it myself!!!!). And this was the first date! I wound up blocking him from every form of social media I owned. That's the last time I don't google someone before agreeing to go out with them haha. My shopping trip was pretty good! I got some scarves, shirts, and a bag for the gift card. I'm excited! WOW that is a nice Christmas bonus! I'm glad you like it there :) And there will be jerks at every job LOL.

Deb, I was hearing about all the canceled flights. That is crazy! This weather is just out of control. How was it in the city today?

Belinda, nice job on your workouts! Synergistics sounds fun! Is it like the Core Synergistics workout from the original P90X? I loved that one. I should break it out of the dungeon.

Have a great night everyone!

Hi,

I decided to do the January rotation & started with Afterburn. Of course P90X3 showed up today.

It was so nice to have the day off today. It was cold but it strangely enough it made my cold feel better:confused: My car registered a temp of 9 & DH's 3:eek: We think it may have been below 0 in the middle of the night.

Belinda - I didn't get a chance to open the books that came with the series but will check it out tomorrow. Are you following the nutrition plan?

Kristin - Melissa is right I'm surprised they wouldn't close the school when the power is out. You may have to put one of the boy's sweatshirts on Baxter with this weather! Good luck with your teacher's course tomorrow.

Amelia - I think P90x will keep you busy for awhile it is a really good series too. I'm surprised someone hasn't found music that would make you shop more LOL.

Melissa - How is your Mom doing? So was his article good? Keeping my fingers crossed for your date.

Cookie - I don't blame you for skipping the dinner meeting. I'm sure you wanted to run home & jump under the warm covers in bed. I only have a couple of hours of small projects the rest of the week and all in NJ.

Lori - I was wondering if you have a workout space in the new house?

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, your future dil's ring is right above this post, and it is so beautiful!
Lori, I could never live with temps like this regularly. You truly are a superwoman.
Melissa, this guy sounds good. When's the date?
Kristin, good luck with the teacher course. Hope you're not like me and get anxious over everything. This morning I woke up rethinking my clothes!
Amelia, are you still using myfitnesspal? My sister told me about TrackBites, or something like that, apparently its similar to mfp but has points similar to WW.
Deb, you and Belinda will be so fit with those two. Have not done P90 variations but grew up with a lot of brothers, so Tony's goofiness might wear on me.
UY Mountain Pose and Jessica's low impact hiit 2times.
Cooie

Good morning! Getting ready to head back to the island for the day/night. I figured since my step is there, I'm gonna do a step workout when I get back: probably Imax 2 (wink wink, Kristin lol) or maybe I will attempt Party Rockin Step...not sure yet. I'm bringing some of my stuff back too. I don't know how I accumulated so much, but it feels like I'm going back with more things than I came up here with  It's not even like I got that much for Christmas! I feel so incredibly horrible for saying this, but I'm kind of glad I'm going back for the night because I honestly need a break from my parents. I just miss being on my own. Is that mean? I also miss my bed at my place because it's a LOT bigger than the one here lol. Tomorrow afternoon I will come back up here, and then it's VT on Friday! I can't wait to get away!! It will be nice spending some time with my dad too.

Can I ask you all to do a huge favor for me? Can you please say a prayer for my friend, Alan? He is the one I told you about a few months ago who has stage 4 cancer. I found out yesterday that he has bone spurs growing in his spine which are compressing his nerve roots and he has a small embolism in his lung: not good signs. I would greatly appreciate it. THANKS!!!!

Deb, lol maybe you can work P90X3 into the Jan rotation somehow? Yeah, my mom is doing well. But now we heard that my uncle in FL is in the hospital with pneumonia. UGH it doesn't end! Yeah his article was really good, and the photos he did for it were awesome too. Of course I used his name from the article to facebook stalk him lol...clearly I'm the psychotic one here since he doesn't even know my last name yet. But from what I read on there, he seems very compassionate so that is a good sign.

Cookie, the date is tonight. Nothing crazy, just coffee, which is fine by me. Even though we've been talking for a couple of weeks, I think dinner as a first date is kind of awkward. LOL @rethinking your clothes. I thought I was the only one who did that haha! I definitely need to check this Jessica Smith woman out; I've heard so many good things about her. And I love low impact HIITS! My knee can't handle the high impact stuff very well; it feels like I have something going on with my meniscus. I should get that checked out sometime, but I'm scared

Lori, I saw your FB post about being up at 4  Crazy woman!! Will you be able to get a nap in today?

Waving hello to Amelia, Kristin, and Belinda. Have a great day everyone!!

Morning

Just finished 4ds lower intensity step with shoulder core & calves. :)

Melissa- Prayers sent to your friend and his family. Have a great day today and let us know about your date- he's sounds really sweet.

Cookie-Have a great workout today!! I log my calories on a notebook I bought a few weeks back. I find its easier for me to keep track of my food that way:) I also started writing down my workouts since I can't seem to remember when I do them:confused:

Debbie-So are you going to do p90x3 along with the January rotation?

Hello to Belinda, Kristin and Lori.

Well, I have to work the next four days (bummer, I know) But I do plan on getting in one more workout this week (if not more ) to make it 4 this week total :)

My eating has been a lot better. I've been aiming for 1700 calories a day. I decided to not weigh for a while maybe in a couple of months I will. I want my clothes to fit loose first.

Hi,

Today I did Gym Style Legs, I didn't realize how much endurance I lost from missing so many workouts:( DH couldn't believe it was Cathe but I told him she wears her hair back in the new workouts so she looks different but in person the same.

My Mom called me tonight her heat wasn't working I tried to talk her into coming here but she wanted to wait for the repairman. At 10PM called her back & he wasn't coming they didn't even call her an operator told her:( I told her to come or I would get her but she is stubborn and said her portable heater is warm enough:rolleyes:

Belinda - I'm going to start P90x3 after the January rotation. Hope everything is OK with you.

Kristin - How did the teacher's course go?

Amelia - Sometimes stepping on the scale doesn't give you accurate info, your plan sounds good. I saw the WW's Jennifer Hudson commercial, it was good. Do you do the on-line WW's?

Melissa - I will keep your friend Alan in my prayers. I can see how you want to go back home, it is a nice break when ds & gf are gone for a weekend. Can't wait to hear about your date:)

Cookie - I was surprise to see you did hiit, your calf must feel better.

Lori - I agree with Cookie it is amazing you have these temps so much. You must have the warmest clothes.

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, hope all is well. It isn't like you to be missing.
Amelia, I remember you like 4ds! That is a fun series. I really like the step workouts in those and felt so accomplished when I had the routines down. Did you get warmer temps yet?
Lori, how old are your children? Is your dd in high school?
Kristin, how did the teacher course go yesterday. Baxter must have looked funny in the yard.
Melissa, so???? how was the date? Don't feel bad about looking forward to being on your own again - isn't that the goal? While I'm sure your parents are thrilled having you around, they probably understand.
Deb, my calf is better. Only doing yoga, walking, and then that wo yesterday. It certainly wouldn't have compared to a Cathe workout, but I counted it anyway.
