Hey guys. First day back at work was just awful. First of all, I woke at 5:15. . . nothing is ever good when you have to wake up at 5:15, am I right? Plus, I didn't sleep well. I never sleep well the night before returning to work. Okay, I manage to get myself ready and out the door. I couldn't even see my car. . . that is how thick and dense the fog and darkness was at the time I left. I could barely see the car in front of me the whole way to work. Then, a power line was down by the high school and I didn't think much of it. . . that is until the POWER went out during 3rd period. Have you ever been in a room of 30 13 year-olds during a power outage? Dear God! Power did not go back on until 8th period. I could not even heat up my lunch!
Plus out of all my classes, 8th period is my worst, my "get through the 40 minutes" if you will. Well, we had an EXTENDED 8th period because the buses were late due to the power line still being down. I was so tired when I can home.
Thankfully, DH took the boys to a birthday party, so I had the house to myself. I relaxed and then played with the dog. I was going to skip my workout, but forced myself into doing it. I did X10, Cardio Blast, plus AC yoga abs. I am glad I did it. That is a fun, short, intense workout. I was really sweaty at the end. That will be my go to workout when I don't feel like working out. You can do anything for 25 minutes, lol.
So. .. this polar vortex thing. . . it is supposed to be 10 degrees tomorrow and the roads are all wet from all the rain today. I am going to be ice skating to work tomorrow.
Plus, if the line is still down, we might lose power again, which will mean no heat in 11 degree weather. Should be interesting. I feel as though it is at least Wednesday, sadly I know that is not the case. Not even halfway to the weekend. Sigh!
Deb- you are lucky you are off this week. This is a great week to stay home. I hate the cold. This is ridiculous! Can you imagine being an explorer going to the North or South Pole? Never would I be able to do that, never ever. Oh, wait, I just reread your post. You have to go to NY today. Better today than tomorrow in the frigid cold, right? I hope you can be off the rest of the week.
Lori- push ups are nearly impossible for me when I have DOMs in the shoulders or chest. How'd you make out? I avoid a number of people at work because I cannot stand them. I feel sorry for the students that must put up with them, lol.
Belinda- I remember that race challenge. Why would people lie about that? It is so crazy to me.
Amelia- we got his report and started paying debts that went into collection because when DH was 20 he just took out store cards and never paid them. Yea, he was a bit of an idiot back then. Anyway, after paying the debts, he opened up a card, put little incidentals on it and then paid the card on time. Then he got a car loan, which after making monthly payments on time raised his score. The first step is to see what is on the report. I read that to have excellent credit, you should only be using 30% of your allotted credit limit on the credit card, which I think is nearly impossible these days. I would suggest paying off credit cards first. Installment loans being paid off in advance raise your score too, but I think credit cards, paying them off, paying more than the minimum due, keeping balances low, is the key. I'm not an expert though. There are a lot of good websites that gives suggestions on how to improve your score, just don't pay for anything on them.
Melissa- sadly too many people have issues with their in-laws. I plan on being an awesome MIL because I want to see my boys and grandchildren often. I will kiss the girl's ass to keep my boys close, lol. Have fun skiing, is the weather going to warm up by then up there?
Cookie- how was your first day back?
Okay, off to decompress.
