Commit to get Fit and Lean for February 2014

Kristin-Great job with your workout. I too was wondering if p90x3 had a modifier. But since I just got p90x1 and its still in the wrapper I should look the other way  I know what you mean about the week passing by so quickly...I too have put off things and now I'm forcing myself to do them - like laundry ugh

45min power walk done. This time I took a different rout with more hills ( or mountains, whatever you want to call them ) and my inner thighs are feeling it.

Hello to everybody that follows, have a great night :)

'Morning!
Belinda, so what results are you seeing with P90x3? My ds was mentioning it yesterday and hinting he would like it. He's always got ideas for my money!
Amelia, hills and mountains - awesome! Yesterday I got to thinking I could put one of those labryinths for a walking meditation out in our field. TG the thought passed - it would be a lot of work. Nothing here is level. But I do love walking. What JS wo did you do yesterday? I've become a big fan of hers. Love her personality.
Kristen, are you now iin the oh no mode of returning to school? How are you liking your haircut now? Bet you've gotten lots of compliments.
Kelly, what part of CO are you in? We were in Golden one time, and liked it so much I made dh look at houses with me! It's a beautiful state. Yeah, try the new jeans trick - worked great for me. Or maybe I just really needed a new pair.
Melissa, hey girl, how are you doing? Miss you.
Deb, are you having flooding? Yesterday it got warmer here and the snow/ice falling off our metal roof sounded like gun shots. Got into 40s so there was melting but now is 24, so it froze. Checked but don't have any pink, lots of dresses, so guess I'll have to start looking.
UY in a few. DH has that flu I had at Christmas time, so we didn't go to hockey game last night. Team lost w/o us. However, that means I have to do recycling since he's out, and that's like one of my least favorite chores. I tell him that's why I keep him around.
Cookie

Good evening,

Sorry for not checking in yesterday, my kids came Friday and left today. We went to the Casino last night, didn't get home until 1 a.m. We had a great time. we also met my DD's boyfriend. He is a really nice guy:D I never got a workout in yesterday:confused: I was cooking German food all afternoon, if that counts. Today DH and I did P90X3 CVX and P90X3 yoga. We also walked the dogs for 45 min.

I will catch on personals tomorrow, I am beat today for some reason. Good night, everyone.

Hi,

I did P90X Isometrix, Belinda's recommendation & it was a good one:) I tried to catch up around the house today and I am so tired now. Tomrrow, we are getting together with friends from Florida for Sunday dinner at an italian restaurant.

We are dog sitting for my yoga instructors dog. For a Golden 1 year old she is pretty good except when she jumped on a man walking past our house:eek: He said he didn't mind because she was friendly & it was nice out.

Belinda - You were right I did like the workout:) It was hard not used to holding poses for 45 seconds (almost said 45 min LOL) but it was a nice change. German food sounds yummy. It must have been fun meeting dd's bf.

Kristin - At least the last couple of days of your break are warmer for you. I'm surprised the boys have the same break as you. Here in NJ breaks & days off differ from school to school.

Amelia - I was so tempted to go for a walk today it was sunny & 50 degrees. Hopefully your cold/snowy/icy weather is gone for this year. I think P90X has a modifier.

Cookie - My driveway this afternoon was a mix of water & ice but at least some of the snow is melting but freezes at night:rolleyes: It's been difficult to avoid germs this winter. Does your DH rest when he's sick?

Waves hi to Melissa & Kelly

Goodnight:)

Morning,

quick check in here, got to get ready for work.

Yesterday was a rest day and my feet was hurting after work. I'm thinking about walking after work to relieve stress

I will catch up with personals after my walk later:)

Good morning,

back with personals: My

Cookie - how do you like JS's new walking dvd? I can't believe you still have icy roads:eek: Yesterday was so nice outside, we took a nice, long walk w/the dogs. P90X3 does have a modifier, but I noticed they don't always modify:eek: I have to modify all the jumps, TG I know how. So far, I am down over 8 pounds. I am losing inches too. I am glad we got the set. DH and I hardly workout to together, we always on a different work schedule. DH said last night after our workout, he wants to start another P90X3 rotation. We are doing the Classic, he wants to do the Lean once we are done:D

Debbie - I bet your hair looks amazing. Spinning takes everything out of you, haven't done it in almost a year. Glad you liked P90X Isometrix:) It's tough holding poses for 45 sec. That would be brutal holding it for 45 min:eek: Have fun at dinner today. My dentist appointment went well, I am getting my old filling replaced.

Amelia - what are you waiting for? Open your P90X, those workouts are amazing. Who knows? You may get into them? I love JS and Chris. I also have the original P90X, they do show modification with the bands. I think you would like it. Tony does talk a lot. He makes me laugh in P90X3:D He is so silly!

Kirstin - if you want to try P90X3 and don't like it, they have a 90 day return policy. I really enjoy the workouts, lots of variety. It's on all well rounded program, IMO! And yes, you will work hard. There is a modifier in every workout, but they still don't really modify. It that makes sense? I been taking the intensity down for over a year now, I am getting good without a modifier, lol. And yes, it works your abs. I feel them very time.

Hi Kelly, Melissa and Lori!

Today I will take the dogs for a walk. I need to get my workout cards ready for STS M3 tomorrow.

I will be back later today. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

'Afternoon!
Belinda, you have me hungry w/your talk of food! So, what did you make? I wish I had gotten some of my mil's recipes. DH has mentioned a few times recently that I should make some spaetzle. Glad you like dd's bf. It would be very uncomfortable otherwise.
What P90x3 did you get? I looked on Mary's site but there are a few there.
Amelia, did you get that walk in? How's the condition of your sneakers? I need a new pair.
Kristen, now I'm feeling major pressure to finish up a lot of things for the week. Must have had 15 emails in the past hour re work! I also do NB candidate support and they're sending me their work left and right!
Deb, lol at holding for 45 mins - that something I would type! So, what version did you get of P90x3? You ladies are tempting me. Enjoy the dinner with your friends. I miss having a golden, and was just telling dh that earlier today. He firmly let me know he thinks no more than three dogs at a time, and that's what we have now.
Took dogs for a 7 mile walk. Still lots of ice but it's melting.
Okay, back to getting ready for week and cooking dinner.
Cookie

Good evening,

Cookie - I made Rouladen with Spaetzle:D I also made Pfannkuchensuppe (Pancake soup or Flädlasuppe). I only got the P90X3 Base kit. If you order through Mary and lets say you have problems with your oder/dvds, Mary will take care of everything. She is great! If you want the original P90X is on sale on Groupon;) Nice job on your walk. I also walked the dogs, only like 25 min.

Good night.

Hey guys. Yesterday was a rest day. Today I was supposed to do Butts and Guts, but I didn't have the time. I did Hard Strikes, cardio plus core 1. I will try to maybe split butts and guts for this week, or do a different leg workout, not sure yet.

Today we went to a Home Expo and got some landscapers to set up appts. to see our backyard. We need to get grass back there, whether it be sod or seeds, I don't know, but I know we need help. I was also looking at the in ground pool places. They look so beautiful. . . I wish I could get one. We are probably going to do above ground, hopefully this year.

Amelia- I hope you got to get your walk in. We had a gorgeous day here, but after the Home Expo I had to stay inside and get my work done. I long for summer, lol.

Cookie- my haircut is growing on me. I still want it to be longer though, lol. I am not looking forward to tomorrow. I am doing a new unit that I created this weekend, and that means I have to make a mad dash to the copy machine in the morning. I really like what I created though and I am happy to be doing my own lessons again after finishing up that awful module!

Deb- on Long Island most school districts have the same vacation days. Most districts go by the BOCES calendar. My boys actually had an extra day off for Easter break, but because of all the snow it has been taken away, so we have the same vacation next time too.

Belinda- uh oh, you are convincing me even more to buy this set and give it a try. I really can't do it now though, lol. I keep watching the infomercials though, lol. 8 pounds so far is great too! Congrats!

Waving hello to Melissa and Kelly!
Kristin

Hi,

I did STS M1 D1 chest, shoulders & bi's. I love that series. We had a lot of friends at dinner with our friends but cheated too much!

Belinda - Pancake soup sounds interesting:) I'm throwing in STS when I can. Your right about the modifiers, sometimes I think that's a modification:confused::)

Kristin - If you did an inground pool you may not need grass, but they are so expensive so grass is the best option. Ugh, our backyard is going to be soggy for months.

Amelia - I hope you were able to get your walk in.

Cookie - After today DH may not want such a big dog. She ran from him, was muddy jumped on him right before we were going to dinner. Jessie (owner) lives in a small condo not sure how that works with a big dog. She does bring her next door to her mom to run in the backyard.

Goodnight:)

Morning girls,

Im up kinda early, its 15 till 5am here. Just couldn't sleep.

I need to vent
My mom and I had a bad argument last night. We have never been super close but there was a time when I would talk to her at least once a week or twice...now weeks pass before we speak or 'text' ( I hate to text, unless its a few words). Oh and my sister called me this past Saturday upset about an argument with our mom too.
It all started when my mom sent me a text asking if I would let my dad borrow money. I sent her a text back saying 'tell dad to call me'. (there separated, why is she asking? ) Then she gets mad and starts calling me selfish and greedy, saying im ungrateful and just horrible names I would never call my DD. Never.:(
This happens about the same time every year when we get our tax returns. (And since im working now we barely qualify for a tax refund so we don't get a lot back) She'll ask to borrow money, I say no ( she likes to play the GA lottery and i know thats why she's asking for money) and we argue. Its exhausting. :( Last night when I thought it was over she starts sending me very long text messages bringing up things that happened in the past and just wanting to continue arguing.
sigh. I never replied to those. And whats more frustrating is when I try to call her she doesn't answer the phone:mad:

anyways, guess that's why I couldn't sleep.:(

Today is work and that's prob all I will do since I've walked 5 days this week. Yesterday I did get in that power walk, after work the kids and I walked around the block. It was so pretty out yesterday, I think the temp was close to 70 degrees. Spring is close...I can feel it!!!

Debbie-Nice job with your workout! Glad you had a good time with your friends, Italian sounds yummy. Hubby and I were talking about a possible florida trip towards the end of summer, I haven't been there in over ten years.

Kristin-Great job with HS&C. Landscaping your back ground sounds exciting!! Hopefully you will get some decent estimates.

Cookie-Awesome job on your 7 mile hike. Thats great! About my sneakers...its prob time to replace them but just can't afford it now. Maybe in a few weeks. I did buy some new work shoes so they help with the foot pain. I think I will buy me a water bottle today and freeze it for my achy feet.

Belinda-Im thinking about pulling out P90x kickbox or the cardio for tomorrow. You have inspired me to do so. Great job on your workout. How's your DH liking the p90x3 series?

Hello to Kelly & Melissa :)

'Morning!
Belinda, OMG I love roulden! That is so delicious. Believe it or not, I've been way to chicken to ever try to make it; guess I'm worried it would be a total disaster. Don't remember ever having pancake soup. That sounds interesting.
Amelia, I'm really sorry to read about you and your mom. Family is very tough. You know the expression, you can choose your friends, but not your family.
Kristen, funny yesterday on our way, my dh and I were discussing our plans for the house. I drive him crazy b/c I like to plan things! Anyway, when we bought this house, we put in an above-ground b/c neither dh nor I are really into swimming. Now that the kids are grown, we've taken it out and have dug out the base deeper to transform it into a pond. That's more to our taste. Also, our homeowner's would have been greater w/in ground for some reason, plus in NYS you have to have a fence around in ground.
Kelly, how are you doing? How was your weekend?
Deb, sounds like Kristen's dog trainer should make a visit! Your dinner must have been fun. So how did you cheat? Hmmm, nosy aren't I?
Did cardio ball this morning. Off to earn some bucks to pay for all my house plans.
Cookie

Good morning,

Today I am starting M3 D25 and P90X3 Week 9 Decelerator.

Cookie - my Rouladen are delicious:p The Pfannkuchensuppe is a homemade noodle soup in a light beef broth. Everything is from scratch. I also was teaching DS's fiancé how to make Rouladen, Speazle and cook the Pfannkuchensuppe. She really got the hang of making the Pfannkuchen, they have to be paper thin:eek: Aleisa's BF liked the meat I used to make the broth for the soup, he ask if he can eat the meat from the broth:D I bought the meat from the Amish Market last weekend, it was soooo good. All the leftovers went home with my kids. You should give it a try! It's a lot of work, but so good.

Amelia - awww….that's hard! I have to agree with Cookie on that one.Your mom knows you don't have a lot of money either. That's not nice:confused: Money and family don't mix! BTW, DH loves P90X!

Debbie - good for mixing STS into the mix. The soup is interesting indeed:eek: Everyone that ever had it in Germany, wants me to make it. It almost took me 3 hours to make it. My feet were killing me. DH offered to help next time, after he saw how long it took. DH and I have to modify on P90X3, my feet can't handle all that jumping.

Kirstin - you always can call other places with pools or grass, this way you get better price. You really have to shop around to find the best price and also who is qualified for the job. Here in WV, the painter wanted over $10.000 to paint the inside of our house. We had to fire him after 3 day's, he was so bad. He didn't get a penny either from us:eek:

I will be back after my workout.

Morning ladies! Monday again already?? Where does the weekend go?

Kept busy Saturday. Aiden's pics didn't go so well as he was pretty uncooperative. Didn't want to smile or anything, so we're going to go next weekend to a nearby park and try again. Silly 2 year old stubborn mentality! :p But we did get a decent amount of walking in wandering through the museum, so that was good. Did Cardio Fusion plus about 10 minutes of abs yesterday. Today was weigh in and I'm down 2 lbs for the week, and 12.8 lbs total from my highest :D Thinking it may be time for a haircut.. the kiddo won't hug me without pushing my hair off of my shoulder, haha!

Amelia, I'm so sorry, that's a tough situation, I know. We've been there with my parents too. My mom loves to gamble (thank goodness she doesn't do that anymore, and she seems to realize she has a problem), and my dad doesn't always know how to stand up to her, even though he knows he should.

Belinda, that sounds soooo yummy! I was born in Germany, but they left before I was able to try any "real" (for lack of a better word) German food.

Not sure what's on the workout agenda today. Will report back later.

Hi everyone. I just finished my workout. I did Xtrain D1, Chest, back and shoulders. I also walked Baxter earlier today, but it was less than 30 minutes because the cold air is back.

My first day back after vacation went well. I was happy to be doing my own lesson and not some state module lesson. I was also happy that my principal was back on the job. She had been sick and out for months. It was bad. To have her get on the loud speaker this morning for the pledge was just wonderful; it set the tone for a good day.

Anyway, not much else to report. I am so jealous of my parents who are in Puerto Rico, soaking in the sun and beach. Snow is coming again Tuesday night into Wednesday, but for us it is only going to be `1-2 inches. I wish it was 0 inches, lol.

Oh I forgot to tell you guys the funny story at the Home Expo. I am a REal Housewives addict and guess who was at the expo selling her cannoli kits. . . Kathy Wakile. We walked by her table and then I saw her husband. Even though I am a fan of the show, I am not a fan of theirs at all. The sister, Rosie, I love, and if she were there I would have stopped and said hello, but she wasn't. Anyway, after we walked by I told DH that I saw her husband there too. Well, even though he claims he doesn't like the show, but always watches it with me, he went right back to their table and started talking the husband. He told him that his WIFE was such a fan, but that I was too shy to say hello and would it be okay. The husband said, "Of course," having just had his ego stroked. DH tried to get me to go over, but I refused, lol. He's such a dope, lol. I know some of you have to watch the show too, right? Am I the only one who needs to get a life?:p:confused::p:eek::rolleyes:

Deb- our backyard is muddy right now . My dog is too funny. He does not like to step in the mud, so he gingerly walks to his spot to go to the bathroom and then sprints back to the house, as if that will prevent his paws from getting muddy, lol.

Amelia- I am sorry to hear about the argument with your mom. Family can be so hard to deal with. Money and family is even worse. Hang in there and don't let the stress and that argument stop you from keeping up with what you are doing. Keep work, working ;)

Cookie- as much as I'd love an in ground pool, I think above ground will be the way to go. The boys and I are fish in the summer. I would live in the pool if I could, lol. The boys are the same way. In our small house, we had a tiny yard and a tiny pool. Now that we have the bigger yard, we can get a bigger pool :).

Belinda- DH's job is to call as many places as possible to get estimates. He is off on Wednesday, so I'll have to remind him of his job, haha.

Kelly- Good job on Cardio Fusion! I may have to break that one out as I haven't done it in over a year I think, lol. Nice job on the weight loss too.

Melissa- where are you, girl? Check in when you can ;)

Okay, off to shower!

Kristin:mad:

Hi,

I didn't get a workout in today, too much catching up at work. I also didn't sleep well because I had a cappuccino at dinner Sunday night:confused:

Belinda - Your feet must have been killing you but you did make some really good dishes. Do you make German food often?

Kristin - It was so cold today, we are getting the same amount of snow too:rolleyes: Once we saw Kathy & Rich at a restaurant but I didn't go over to them. Your DH probably thought he was helping you out.

Amelia - That is hard with your Mom, I agree with everything everyone said but it's important you stick up for yourself so it hopefully it will happen less and less.

Cookie - So where do I begin too much bread, pasta, biscotti & tiramisu:eek: It was served family style so you were able to taste a little bit of everything. Do you think you would ever move to a smaller house?

Kelly - Maybe you have to bring some of your son's favorite things or food. That is a tough age to get them to cooperate but each day is different.

Goodnight:)

Morning,

My goodness I am exhausted this morning  just really feeling it. ugh.
I'am hoping this coffee will help in a minute or I will be dragging through work today.

Wanted to say thanks on the comments I got yesterday, my mom and I have agreed to just stay clear of each other. She says she's moving away :)rolleyes:) But honestly, it saddens me that we aren't close. I will always be close to my DD. :)

So week one on my 'healthy lifestyle change' was a very good success! I lost 4.4 lbs total. If I lose that much next week I will be eating more calories during the day..thats too much. But since its wk#1 its probably half water ;) According to MFP I'm suppose to lose 1.5 lbs a week. ( Its what my goal is set at)

Debbie-Cappuccino....yum ;) Sorry you didn't sleep well, that stinks. Sometimes I will crave coffee at night. I do have decafe here if that happens. But regular coffee its as yummy as a cappuccino :D btw-your dinner the other night sounds delicious!!

Kristin-I've never watched that show, guess I'm afraid I will get hooked on it. LOL at your story, so funny. Your DH sounds like a character.

Kelly-Yay on your weightloss!! Thats fabulous :) What program are you following? ( sorry, I forget ) awesome job on your workout too. I need to get a haircut too...I'm not sure when though

Belinda-I can't pronounce ( or spell ) any of the food your making but the pic of your Pfankuchensupe looks scrumptious!! Glad your dh is liking the workouts.

Cookie-Great job with your ball workout. I appreciate the pm, will send you one back after work.

Melissa-where you at girl? Check in..we miss you:)

Ok, im gone - peace out *holds up peace sign ....

Good morning,

I will do P90X3 AgilityX tonight, not sure what else I will do today?

Amelia congrats on the weight loss! Keep up the good work. BTW, the soup is scrumptious!

Debbie Cappuccino keeps me awake too:confused: I also can't have coffee after 4 p.m. I also noticed, even wine keeps me up:mad: Yes, I make German food often. Yesterday I made Krautwickel (stuffed cabbage), we are having them today:p

Kirstin - that is so cool! I never watched the show. I am jealous your parents going to Puerto Rico.

Kelly congratulations on your weight loss! That's fantastic! Good job, on CF…I also have to get that one out soon.

Hi Cookie!

I will be back later. Have a great day and workout, everyone.

Morning! Feeling good this morning, hoping it lasts the day. Did 4ds bc/bi's and tri's yesterday, today should be LIS / shoulders calves and core. I may hit the elliptical for a few at lunch too. Have my weigh in for the challenge at work today too. I know I'm down so no worries there.

Kristin, totally jelly of your parents too, we're looking at about an inch of snow tonight. Could be worse but I'm done.

Debbie, I'm another one who can't drink coffee in the evenings. Coffee, soda, even alcohol leads to a horrible night's sleep for me.

Amelia, Yay for your loss too! I'm just trying to revamp my (our) eating habits and workout more. Luckily Aiden is not a picky eater and loves veggies, so that helps a ton!
