Circuit Max & Cardio Kicks- would love opinions about t...

Hi All,

Well, Circuit Max and Cardio Kicks are the last videos needed to fully round out my Cathe collection. I don't know why I've been going back and forth about buying them, as every tape Cathe does is amazing.

I noticed that I subtly avoid CTX's kickbox and power circuit. Kickbox gets a bit repetitious for me at times and power circuit is full of so many fast-paced changes. I need to give them another try, I think! :p

Any feedback on these two tapes, educated crowd? I know that there are people out there who just can't live without them. I'd love to get some opinions. :7

Thanks so much. Keep up the hard work, everybody!

Jen

I love Circuit Max (to me, it's harder than Cardio & Weights), it's a lot of fun and I love the variety. I definitely recommend this one!

Cardio Kicks I've only once and only did part of it, I sat down and watched the power drills, so I can't help you there.

But you MUST get Circuit Max! You Must, You must!

Haven't tried Circuit Max yet, but Cardio Kicks is so much FUN!! I actually laughed while doing this workout. Cathe is so funny especially towards the end, when she says they need an umbrella because of all the sweat flying. It is a great cardio workout too.

Another reason I love this workout is because it requires no equipment at all.

I highly recommend it!!

I really like CMAX! I just love the way it came together...the workout, Cathe's demeanor, the outfits and the music. It did amazing things for my cardio endurance too. It was the only new thing I tweaked during a rotation so it must have been the cause. It's tough.

Cardio kicks is more intermediate if compared to Cathe's other workout. But that's great. You get something to alternate with. It's still a very good workout plus you don't need a step. I use it atleast once a week because it's great to cross train with.

Among all my cathes...the CMAX & CK DVD, PS Series and RS and BMax get used the most.

Go ahead and get them both....

I really like both these tapes because they help me with my overall conditioning. For awhile, the only cardio I did consistently was step aerobics. Sometimes if the weather permitted, I'd ride my bike, but by and large it was step, step, step.

Later I learned of the benefits of cross training, so I started looking for ways to add other varieties of cardio, but I was never a lover of hi/lo, at least not enough to do it for an entire hour.

Circuit Max totally changed my opinion of hi-lo. This video is awesome. You can use it as a pure cardio, keeping weights light, or you can go at a slower pace during the weight section with heavier poundage. This video has it all: step, hi/lo, kickbox and step kickbox.

Cardio Kicks is great too. It's fun, challenging and really gets my heart-rate up. My favorite part of the video is when she has the guys in back move up to the front. The guy on the left side of the tv is gorgeous. How come Cathe didn't include his bio when she introduces us to the rest of her video crew????

Maybe I'll slide over to the Ask Cathe page and suggest that we get to meet her other background exercisers in other videos besides the Intensity Series. :)

Hi Jen-

I think you would benefit a lot from both of these tapes. CM is really tough (to me it is tougher than IMAX) and when I finally completed it without dieing it felt great. Really has taken me to a new fitness level. Also, since there is only 2 sections of each hi/lo, kickbox, and step it is hard to get bored and if you don't like one of the sections you know a different one is coming soon.

Cardiokicks is also a great workout and as the others have mentioned the no equipment needed is nice. I too was not initially drawn to kickboxing but I heard so much about this tape I had to try it. It has changed my mind, not that I am totally into KB now, but I do like this tape and get a great workout from it. I also find the upper body drills really work my lats and shoulders. I can always feel them the next day.

My opinion... GO FOR IT! I doubt you will regret it.

Hi Jen,

I just received Cardio Kicks and I love it! I was never a fan of Tae-Bo or floor aerobics, but I really enjoy this tape. It is one of my favorites now and I try to get it in 1-2x per week. God bless,

Denise

I have both. I love Cardio Kicks and I never really liked KB b4 I got this video and tried it, but, something about Cathe she always takes me by storm on every tapes. I love it.

Circut Max. This is my nemesis Cathe video as people say. I like it but it just kicks my A$$ every time I try it. I have never completed it as is I can do half but not the whole thing yet. I will not be defeated however, I am going to keep trying it every week.

It is a very tough tape in my estimation, harder than MIC, harder than I MAX or I MAX II, harder than Boot Camp, it's just hard. But, that's what I love about our Cathe.

Get it and see for thy self, it'll challenge you.

The power drills in CK make the whole DVD worth it!!! I don't agree in saying CK is intermediate. It is still hard for me, especially towards the end..

Put me down as another C-Max fan. I do agree with the other posters who feel that Cardio Kicks is more moderate in intensity ONLY in comparison with other Cathe routines, but it is still a tub-thumper, especially of course the power drills at the end.

Circuit Max, though, is in the Top Five Faves for A-jock. The fun factor is through the roof, and as another poster mentioned, it totally changed my feelings about hi/lo. The choreography is great, there is no wasted time in "recovery" (unless you count the brief pauses while you grab your weights), and the kickbox segments are varied - the first kickbox segment is on the floor, and the second is on the step.

In fact, I'm kinda missing C-Max right now as I focus on Intensity Series productions. I may have to do it next week! Darn the luck!

GET IT AND CARDIO KICKS!

A-jock

I don't agree with Cardio Kicks being intermediate either. Maybe if you modify the heck out ot it. The Power Drills are very tough!!
