CIA's Rock Steady Step

I got this workout for free when I ordered Step This Way 2 with Kristen Kagen (which I really liked).

I tried it (Rock Steady Step) and I couldn't believe how thin Seasun the instructor was. I almost gasped. I had a very close friend who almost died from anorexia and it's too disturbing for me to do this tape. I'm ending up giving this workout away to a friend because it bothers me so much to see her. If it's normal then great. But I kept wondering if she was going to pass out any second. I don't know if it's just me but I just didn't enjoy this workout at all. Has anyone else noticed this? I hope I didn't offend anyone, this is just my personal observation.

Yes, I have that tape of Seasun's. I felt the same way when I saw her, my first response was "OH MY GOD" - she is so skinny - I stood with my mouth wide open. But I did keep the tape and I really do enjoy the tape - I guess I did get past it - because I don't even really think about her being so skinny anymore - her legs are really really skinny - she definitely has no muscle tone. I really think she had a breast enlargement, even though she isn't THAT BIG, but she is definitely big for her body fat level. When she lays down to do the ab section - her boobs area the same size (they don't flatten out at all). That is definitely a sign of an enlargement.

I really love Kristen's tape - Step This Way 2 she kind of reminded me of Cathe's style in step aerobics. She is definitely advanced and a great instructor - Maybe someone would consider her "FAT" but I find her refreshing and quite normal. I would rather see women like her than like Seasun.

I know there have been other women on this forum who have her tape, because on FIT MOMS some talked about her background exerciser who is 6 months pregnant.

If you can get past Seasun being skinny - her tape is really a good one and the abs she does a the end are really good, too.

Thanks Cheryl for responding. I do love Kristen's tape Step This Way 2 also. It does remind me a lot of a Cathe tape. Kind of a cross between IMAX and Rhythmic Step.

How did you enjoy her workout style? Wasn't her outfit adorable, loved the pants! She is a fun instructor and her specialty is double step(which is in demand for Greg to get her going with that)I thought the same thing you did when I seen her for the first time(very frail) but WOW that video did her no justice! They say the camera puts on 10 lbs or something like that but I met her in person at a conference this weekend, and she looked GREAT! Healthy Looking! She has very long legs, thin build and oh my what a booty! That's where all her meat is, hahaha, she's like a barbie doll, very adorable and personable! She was right there with us in the crowd doing the classes and working up a sweat with us! So don't feel bad about your observation, I thought the same thing too, until I seen her in person! Here's a link to the clothesline she wears and models for, its one size fits all or is it one size fits most :p http://www.brasilsulusa.com/home.htm

RE: Season

Francine,

I thought her outfit was very cute! I thought her personality was nice too.

Thanks for the link!

RE: Season

Francine,

I really enjoyed her style of a workout - it was eally fun and I did enjoy her ab work out - it was intense - I do that tape once a week. What do you think of Kristen - I thought she was much like Cathe, she seemed to do alot of her moves, too. I really enjoy her tapes, too. I feel like I really worked out when I get done with her.

Cheryl

Her thinness was the first thing I noticed. She has very thin arms. My thought was she may be one of those few people who have a hard time putting on weight. I really like the workout though. It is a lot of fun. Though I am still trying to get all of the moves down. I really like the ab work at the end. I have the DVD so have been doing each segment adding a new one when I get one down. I am on the 4th one soon to start the 5th. I think there are 7. I don't pay much attention to her thinness when I do this now.

Thanks Diane Sue for responding.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one that noticed this.
I also read on the Video Fitness forums that she had 103 fever when filming this workout.

I noticed Seasun's thinness, as well. It was shocking, and I think her pants accentuated how thin she is. However, it looks to me like it is her body type--just naturally very thin. Her arms and legs look very long--I'd call her lanky. It was distracting when I previewed the workout, but as I did the actual workout I didn't really notice it, since I was having to focus on her style and choreography.
I never have really been able to get into this workout. Something about it doesn't grab me. I'm so disappointed, because I really thought it would be great. I think the choreography has the potential, but there is just something about Seasun's cueing and movement style that just didn't work for me... Hated seeing that bounce as she steps down, too.
Step this Way and STW2, however, are inceredible workouts! I agree that Kristin's style is much like Cathe's, but I think her choreography is better than Cathe's. Wow! I just love these tapes, and highly recommend them. :)

After I did Seasun's workout a few times, I was able to get past her size, and I do think the workout is fun. Seasun has an easy-going, very friendly, non intimidating style that I really like. Also, I thought that was so creative of her (or Greg) to use the 6 month pregnant lady in the video. All their outfits are really cute.

But you weren't the only person who thought she looked really small. The first thing I noticed about Seasun (when I first saw the DVD cover) was her very little, teeny tiny arms. It made me think of a comment used frequently by an character on a soap opera I used to watch long time ago. Whenever that character wanted to threaten her nemesis, she'd always say, "I could snap you like a twig." I looked at Seasun's arms, and the first thought that popped into my head was, "I could snap her arms like a twig." But I think Seasun is just naturally thin.

My only complaint about this workout is that I think they bounce on and off the step too much. I remember in my old Tammie Lee videos, she always said we should NEVER bounce. I thought it was odd that these ladies were so bouncy.

I'm glad you enjoyed Seasuns's style(me too)(we all know now that she is "naturally thin" and has a lot of talent!)Hope to see more videos from her in the future As for Kristen, what rock has she been hiding under, her videos are tough but fun! Yes I agree very similiar to Cathe but more dancy! She surprised me in a GREAT way! She didn't look that energized to me but woah did she put it all out there & can she hang! Just goes to show, You can't judge a book by it's cover }( Looking forward to seeing more from these two! It is soo refreshing to see the different flavor that these instructors bring to us!If you have any suggestions for particular videos for Cia visit Greg at www.ciavideo.com, he has a suggestion section and would love to hear what your video wishes are! He's the main man! He does all the film producing for the instructors(including cathe) and he has all the connections. So if you been wanting to see a a certain instructor do a certain workout go over and make a request:p

Some people just have long thin bones. As a 5'00" petite person I really notice this. I swear some models thigh bones are as long as my entire leg. I have two really tall friends and even their toes are twice as long as mine. I have to remind myself not to compare because we all have look our own personal best.

I previewed the RSS last night. Seasun has a pretty face but her body reminds me of Ichbod Crane from Sleepy Hallow the cartoon. I don't know if you guys ever watched it as kids? Why does she have so much bouncing in it? I thought you can hurt yourself from the bouncing? I haven't tried it yet but it looks like a lot of fun. I liked they put the pregnant woman in there. I HATE the outfit the woman in the background had on...Not the pregnant one. It looked like it was about to slide off anytime. I LOVED Seasun's top! Know where to get one like that, girls??) The only thing that bothered me about the workout is all the bouncing. Her skinniness doesn't bother me much 'cause I know a couple of girls who are skinnier than Seasun.

Does anyone know of a good CIA tapes that's not too dancy? I'd like to add more tapes since I get bored easily with tapes. Thanks!

my two cents

Hello everybody

I just received both of Kristen Kagen videos and I love them! I never really liked "dancy" step aerobics, always perferring stuff like IMAX and IMAX2. However when I finally learned Rhythmic Step, I seemed better equipped to do other, more complex choreography. Looks like Cathe videos help me out indirectly with learning other tapes! Thanks Cathe:)

RE: my two cents

Oh my! I started this thread like 6 months ago. I don't even feel the same anymore. :(

I think Kristen and Seasun are both very good instructors.
