Chelene extreme?

I loved ChaLean Extreme and have done it multiple times. I think it's an excellent program and it is fun. The workouts, btw, are all shorter than Cathe's workouts.

What kind of results are you looking for? Strength? Weight loss?

As for weight loss, sometimes I lost weight when I did it and sometimes I didn't. What made the difference? What I did in the kitchen. The very first time I did it, I followed the food plan and got the best results I've gotten from any program I've done (and I've done a lot!). Another time I did it and got good results, I did a ChaLean Extreme/TurboFire hybrid--and watched my calories and ate clean. I got good results then, too.

As for strength, every time I did ChaLean Extreme I gained strength (I did with P90X, too, btw). It's a great program. Definitely a keeper.

Thanks id like to lose weight. I seen it didnt have much cardio there so I was thinkng I can add Cathes cardio if I need more. Then I saw rockn body was on sale too for 19 dollars so I thought I could do that to just for fun. I cant wait for xtrain I hope I can lose on that one. There isnt much cardio on it though. Im just wanting to mix it up and see if I can stick to a program ..

I thought it was a worthwhile program, and I was able to lose weight by following the eating plan. One big plus is that the workouts are short. The warmups are all the same. I didn't particularly like the cardio--too repetitive and not very hard. Most of the weight moves are compound moves, which do get your heartrate up, but it also meant that I couldn't go heavy enough to work my legs well. I didn't have my versa-gripps then, but they would have helped--you can only hold 35# dumbbells for so long before your fingers give out.

I would search this forum for older posts--some people thought the compound moves weren't safe for them. There are a lot of posts about the program

If you can stand Chalean, then you might like it. I did the program all the way through, but I found her incredibly annoying and repetitive. When I tried to go back to it, I absolutely couldn't stomach it. . . So, I sold it. Many like her personality, however. I'm just spoiled by Cathe's style. Actually, I've sworn off anything Beachbody--their programs are effective, but I have to grit my teeth to make it through the first time and end up selling the programs when I'm done. It's all a matter of personal taste.

I just finished CLX on Saturday. I gained some really nice upper body definition from it and lost a good amount of weight without following the eating plan. I did feel it was light on the lower body work. I did sub Cathe warm-ups for the warm-ups in CLX - they just didn't get me warm enough. I also subbed Cathe cardio for the cardio days (often doing LBB to make up for the lack of lower body work).

Thanks for all of ur help. It sounds like something I may get because imore intermediate with lifting. The only thing I didnt like was the cardios was only two workouts I think. Id def have to add cathe cardio. Im gonna see if I can get the whole set on amazon for cheaper. I cant see paying as much as they want if I have to come up with my own cardios. I might like the cardio she has but id get bored with just two for 90 days.
Thanks so much for ur replys!

I love ChaLean's Extreme! I am doing it now for the 4th time. It is my "GO TO" system when I need a kick start. It's a great way to figure out my 1RM's. (I'll be needing them for Xtrain)

What I love:
Workouts are short.
There is no dread factor.
I can go at my own pace and not feel rushed.
Keeping track of gains every week.
Chalene is very motivating.
It gets my heart rate up.

Other side of the coin:
I add my own cardio. I also like the extra cardio dvd(dvd7) better than the one that comes in the series.
Same warm up and cool down.

It really sounds perfect for me because I jog too. I used to do it 3 or 4 times but pf makes it hard so I jog once a week for the love or it. I do step aerobics alot love it. I also need to do cf and ttm more so I think chalenes program will work for me. I hate lifting for one body part for 40 min I think that is over kill and boring. I would not mind having a couple parts in 30 min. I hope to find it used on amazon. Lol.

I am someone that found it dangerous. It messed my shoulder up so badly!!! Too much shoulder work IMO. It's also very repetitive like someone else said and I cannot stand the same dang warm up and cool down over and over again. There's some pretty heavy mugging for the camera too- over the top facial expressions.

Here's an idea for you:

Cathe's 4 Day Split.

It has cardio and heavy strength both routines clock in at about 30 minutes each. You get your cardio and weights in 4 days vs 5 total days with CLX. It's safer IMO, cheaper (especially if you buy it now with the coupon codes from Cathe.com), and I'd be willing to bet you'd find it more enjoyable too. Part of my problem was a started with Cathe before going to CLX and I could not stand Chalene. Cathe she is not and she got on my nerves too quickly.

Just an idear to ponder....

:D -- Renee I forgot to mention Chalene does take some getting used too. I personally find her funny and very personable. I have a friend who says she gets on her last nerve. :p She sold the set with in a week.

I should mention also Chalene does not workout with you, she does not even count reps. You are on your own. She walks around chatting about this and that a lot! Her crew how ever is working with ya.

Like everything else it's a matter of taste. Lots to choose from and what works for you.

I love 4DS. I don't have Chalene. I really like the cardio options on 4DS.

I really like Chalene and really enjoyed her workouts. It is personal taste, but I found her very high energy and motivating. However, I didn't like how she only did 1/2 to 1/3 of the strength exercises in ChaLean Extreme. She does everything in all of her cardio workouts (in ChaLean Extreme and TurboFire), but the weight lifting, she "shows form" a lot. However, I never noticed the count being off. Maybe she didn't constantly count reps, but I never did too many or too few reps. Oh, I remember--there is a rep counter in the right hand corner of the screen, that keeps you on track.
