::::: CHEETAHS ::::: Wed., 2/7

Good morning all! I posted my pic for Cathy then went and had my morning cereal and tea. Back for chatting:7 My elliptical didn't come yesterday. I got a call though and it will be here early this afternoon. However, I have to nap then since I'm back to work tonight so my new EXT will have to wait til tomorrow. I was so fidgety yesterday I ended up doing IMAX3....great tension reducer!
Kristi and Barb- Thanks! I'm hoping to inspire other cheetahs to post a pic wearing their Ts!

Today will be a 5 mile run and some yoga, not sure which workout yet!

:7 :7 :7 :7 :7 Personals :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

Cathy- Your image of me as a whirling dervish isn't too far off I'm afraid! I don't know where my energy comes from but I've always been that way. More fidgety than a toddler! I'm not too good at sitting still:) Have a great run today and again... thanks for the T shirts and all that you do!

Elaine- I had a little bout with PF last year, used one of those little wheels to massage the bottom of my foot. It felt great and really helped. Anyway, it went away and never returned. If yours is minor I think you have nothing to worry about.

Thomasina- I hope you can check in more! Welcome back. I hadn't heard from you in so long I didn't think you were doing the PFChang race. I was there and completed my first full marathon. It was cold wasn't it?

SunnyD- Have a great time with p90x legs and back. I find it strange that this series has so little specific leg work.

Marcia- Maybe teaching a new class will give you the motivation you're looking for. Starting up with p90x will probably also give you all sorts of new ideas. I think most of the supplements are a waste of money but being a nurse I'm probably a little biased in the matter. I do believe taking a good multivitamin supplement and Calcium especially will benefit most women. Also I take glucosamine/chondroitin for the joints.

Wendy- I never get DOMS in my legs anymore but doing the B&G leg blast was the ticket for me. My hamstrings were talking to me the next day! How is Joey doing?

Judy- We must be on the same wavelength :) It was DM for me yesterday.. although I also tacked on IMAX3}( Running and yoga for me later.

Jess- I'll be curious what you think of the B&G leg blast!

Karen- Hope you're feeling better. Great job on getting through that workout anyway!

Kristi- Sorry you didn't get all that snow to play in! I know how you feel. It doesn't happen too much where I live so it's a big event when it happens. I think the current Runnersworld is a great issue. More valuable than the Oxygen clean eating mag IMO.

Gayle- Have a great run! Dont blame you a bit for keeping it on the TM with that cold weather!

Carole- "Who's Cathe?"!!!! And I though my DH was oblivious!!!!
Even he didn't say that! He definitely knows who I'm talking about when I mention Cathe. That's too funny! Are you doing a p90x rotation also now?

Barb- DM and leg work! AWESOME!

Enough stalling. Time for a run! Later y'all!

ShellyC

Hi again. Another quick post from me....sorry! Zach will be off the bus in 15 minutes. I won't be able to get around to personals, other than to say I WANT A SHIRT TOO! LOL.

I picked up the Oxygen Clean Eating issue, and was SO tempted by a few others there! But I held my wallet shut and bought just the one! LOL

Gayle

Thanks for the cool shirt Cathy. The package arrived a few days ago but I couldn't find the sissors in my messy house to open it until this morning. I can't wait to wear it.

I did Muscle Max and Endurance Training this week (high and low impact) and will think of something to do later today. Those workouts were tough for me. No running yet. Too cold.

ShellyC you look fabulous.

Colleen

Good morning ladies,
I am a bit tired today. My middle daughter still has a cold and she coughed most of the night. I felt so bad for her, but than started feeling bad for me, because it was keeping me up so. I was going to keep her home just so she could sleep, but she really wants to go to school and she has not coughed once since she has been up today.

Anyway, pretty quiet day today, thank goodness! I will be doing my elliptical for 50 minutes and then some ab work. My hubby and I will also do Eionn tonight.

Cathy, did you get my check yet? I am anxiously awaiting my cheetahs shirt}( I notice you do the KM leg conditioing drills a lot. I never cared for them, but I am thinking maybe I should try them again:)

sunnydelite, are you having good results with the power 90x or is it too soon to tell? I think I am the only one who has this series that does not want to try it. I am afraid of bulking up. I have worked so hard to finally lean out. Someday, when I get the eating down, maybe I will give it a try.

Marcia, good job on the clean eating. I swear I do so well for about 5 days and then something sends me right back to my old ways. I am going to get motivated now though. I just FEEL so much better when I eat healthy.

Wendy, how is the studying going for the pt exam. I know sometimes the thought of it is overwhelming, especially when you have a little one to take care of. Hope you have a great TM run! I think next week I will be allowed to walk/run. I am so looking forward to it.

Judy, glad you came up with a solution to the tv disaster. Have a great run!

Jess, you are too efficient! We have not even bought our valentines yet. You see I said BOUGHT!!! We made them last year and it took about 2 days with all the kids and I said NEVER again.(LOL)!

You are going to LOVE Butts and Gutts lower body blast premix. It is such a calorie burn for me, I usually consider it cardio as well as a leg burner workout.

Karen, Great workout! I love PUB and then yoga, what a perfect way to start the morning. I hope you feel better though. Which Eoinn did you buy? Did you like it?

Kristi, I like the timesaver workout. I feel it works me pretty hard. Too bad you did not get a snowday today. Have a great day:)

Gayle, yes, I am glad I have the treadmill too. I like the fact that I can just hop on anytime of day and not have to worry about the weather. Is this Oxygen mag a new issue this month or an old one that you guys are all looking for? I am kind of confused about it.

Carole, I actually get really annoyed when my hubby does stuff like that. It is funny sometimes, but other times it like, do you ever listen to what I am talking about? But, with that said, when he talks about his computer job and work stuff, I tend to tune him out. But, it is amazing how clueless hubby's can be. Enjoy your run!

Barb, hello:) I really enjoyed DM the other day. It was great because the parts where I thought would be do high impact for my back, I would just get on the elliptical. It is so much fun having the elliptical.

Do you work? I know you have probably mentioned before, but I can't reacall what you did.

Cathy, what great pic of you. You have such a beautiful and kind hearted smile. That is great that your ellipitcal will come today. I betcha you will be checking out at midnight tonight after work:)

I will definitley post a pic too, when I get my shirt.

Well ladies, I am off to start the day. Have great workouts and I will BBL!!!

Cheers!

Susan

Hey Cheetah Ladies!

Man, what a week I am having. ACK! DS is still not right in his mood. It's totally off even though he should be feeling better. He was passed out so cold in the car on the ride home from work that he never woke up. I laid him down on the couch in his coat and he was snoring! I left him there for like 15 mins but finally went to take his coat off. He woke up so I brought him up thinking he'd want to nap in his crib...he complained. I brought him down and tried to feed him...he threw a fit! I got him out of the highchair and he proceed to throw a tantrum on the livingroom floor for about 15 minutes until he finally curled up with one of the throw blankets in there and went to sleep on the floor! Sooooooooo unlike him! I refuse to move him now because he's quiet so that's where he will sleep. Unfortunately now I can't really work out as I'm garunteed to wake him up if I do and I don't want to take that chance with the mood he is in right now!    KIDS! Just when ya think you have 'em all figured out they go and pull a fast one on ya! LOL :p

Well, I got in a 30 min run after work this morning. I still have Back and Biceps to do but it will mostly likely be waiting until this evening at this point. I can't wait for tomorrow when all I have to do is Yoga! WOW-I never thought I'd say that! LOL I was going to take spin in the morning and run on sat but I think atleast for now since I have added in an extra leg work out I am actually going to back the cardio up to 2 days! I will run 1x and take a class 1x each week for Phase 2. So no more cardio for me until saturday now when I can take step. Maybe once my legs regain the endurance I can add the 3rd cardio back in. Right now it just feels like it would be too much though. It also adds more time to my work outs which can be hard to come by these days. Gotta learn to roll with it when you have kids though! I'm sure many of you cheetahs understand that one! :+

My legs are sooooo sore from B&G y'day! YEOW!!!! My run was interesting to say the least! LOL }( Okay, I'm done with my novella here....I'm off to catch up and try to get some personals in while DS is snoozing.

BBS!:+

Judy, DM is a great work out for sure! I am sold on pull ups/chin ups for back work since starting the X. When I start doing weights with DH at the gym after the X rotation, I will be all over that assisted pull up machine!}(

Marcia, I'm sure class tonight will be fun. If they are mostly the group of women you teach step to then I'm sure it will be fine. You should be pretty comfortable w/them and I'm sure they will let any goof ups you might make slide. You all can laugh about it afterwards!:) I think you'll do great though, personally!

Jess, Will you take a pic of the spongebob valentine for us to see when it's finished? :+

Karen, I think everyone is getting "a touch of something" these days. Everyone has something different around me! Colds, strep throat, fevers, and the list goes on. Heck, that awful stomach virus that Joey had at Christmas is STILL going around! ACK! Feel better!

Kristi, Sorry the snow didn't come through for ya y'day but atleast you got half a day off from work!:+

Gayle, So when are you going back to pick up the other mags you were eyeing? LOL

Carole, ROTFLMAO at your DH! Men! :7 :7 :7

Barb, Looks like today is a popular day for DM! Did you and Judy plan it that way? LOL ;) I am still feeling kind of run down from whatever bug I have but I managed the short run and will dig deep for the energy to do B&B later!

Shelly, Great pic! I'm going to have to take one too!:)

Susan, I am about half way through the PT book so far. Not bad. I've read ALMOST every day since I got it. I still have another book to read and a dvd to review before I get to the exam part. I still have lots of time though. :) I'm excited to hear about your experiences when you are given the go to start running again!

Hello to anyone and everyone I may have missed!:+

Susan--great idea to sub the elliptical for cardio parts of DM that bug your back. I liked your description of how the empathy needs to get passed around when you have a sick kid. It's good your cutie-pie felt good enough to go to school.

Wendy-- I feel for you with Joey. It's not having kids that's hard, it's having them and then trying to get anything done that's hard. You are amazing reading everyday and getting the workouts in. I was not doing anywhere near the amount of exercise you are when my first child or 2nd was as little as Joey!

-Barb
:)

Barb, I am very stubborn about getting my "me time" which ofcourse includes my work outs! I don't know if that's good or bad but that's me! LOL DH has HIS time so I get mine and sometimes that has to mean a little less US time (for DH and I) but if I don't get my time for myself then I am not fit for human companionship. LOL DH realizes that making the sacrafice is worth it in the end. :)

DS woke up before crying. I brought him up to change his diaper but he had another fit so I put him in his crib to let him cry it out. He cried for a few minutes but now it's quiet up there. I hope he's sleeping...I'm still not going to work out until later though. I doubt he'll sleep long enough for me to finish right now! It's very frustrating dealing with a young child who doesn't talk well enough to tell you what's wrong. :-( I feel bad for him but I also feel bad for me too!:p

*Slinks into forum* I'm going to be a snobby Cheetah again with a quick little post. I'm crazy at work (well, some would say I'm just crazy period). But I'm doing a bit better - meaning the drugs are working today. :+ <--- still me. I'm at work - and it's actually kind of nice to be out of the house. I was getting a bit stir crazy. I slept through my workout this morning, but my meeting is out earlier than expected and the one quote wasn't as urgent as it sounded yesterday, so I'm going to sneak out at noon for a Spin. I'll use one of my iCycles and take it easy, but I figure if I can get the HR up and my body heated a bit I can get rid of this cold easier.

On the bright side, I'm down 5 of the 10 pounds I gained already - in 2 days - must have been major bloat. I've been eating very clean - being sick helps I'm not really that hungry.

Carole - I did read about your DH and absolutely agree with the assesment that men are from a different planet.

Hugs Wendy - sounds like a rough day!

I've been reading BFFM - he says that in order to lose weight I need to concentrate on cardio. That I should add heavy weight work later. Has anyone found this to be true or not? I'm just curious to see what works for different people.

Hello Christine,
Glad you are feeling better. Two more days until lunch, YUM!!! I will try not to indulge too much, since I am also trying to lose a few lbs. I have found that when I gain weight that yes, I will focus on cardio, but will do a lot of circuit workouts, like HSC,HSTA, and Bootcamp. They are great calorie burners and you still get to tone up a bit without bulking up. I am always always 3-4lbs heavier on Monday after the weekends. I always lose it by Wednesday. I am sure so much of the 10lbs you gained was water.

Enjoy your spin class}(

Susan

G'afternoon Cheetahs!! Crazy Cheetah here who did B & G Leg blast premix (love to hate it! LOL) plus abs (the ones w/ the leg weights), and then did MM upper body plus abs. I felt like Shelly!! :) (love the Cheetah shirt on you, BTW!!)

I'm still waiting on the TV guy to get here, we got the 12- 6 window so who knows when he'll actually show up? At least I got my workouts done! }(

Proud Momma moment here so bear w/ me. Allison did WONDERFUL on her pre-K evaluation this morning. The teacher couldn't believe how much she knew & how well she did on everything. She tested above a 5yr old level (and she's only 3 1/2). She did great on motor development, concepts, speech/ language, social interaction plus all the basics of letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc. I was so proud of her. The only bad thing is that she's too advanced for the grade school, they only take those kids that need help!! The teacher said that she was almost sad that she did so well because now she can't teach her. We will send her to the Christian preschool for pre-K where she'll have the same teachers she already has (and my other 2 dd's went there also). Anyway, it's nice to hear how bright your children are once in a while! OK, bragging done. :p

Allright, my girlies will be home soon so I'd better run. My extra workout cut into my *play* time!! }(

Well, I bailed on B&G Timesaver, but I did do Gymstyle Legs 33 minute timesaver premix instead. You all scared me using DOMS and B&G in the same sentence. LOL

SunnyD - Good luck with your interview. I'm sure you will do great, and they will realize what an asset you will be for them.

Jess - Brag all you want! That is so great! It just shows what a great mother you are.

Sorry, I'm short on time. Gotta go!

Wendy--I hope Joey feels better soon! I had an aunt who would remind me that a part of why toddlers are so darn cute is just for their survival. :+

Jess--how nice it feels to hear all those good things about your big girl! Good for you and good for Allison. Thanks for sharing your good news.

-Barb
:)

Ijust got my foam roller in the mail. It is so great!! I have already used it, and it feels great on my low back and glute muscles. Thanks Jess for recommending it. I can tell I am going to use it a lot.

Susan

Hey there, cheetahs! :) It looks like a manageable post day! *lol*

Sunny :: I must say that P90 has piqued my interest after hearing what great results Wendy & other folks are getting…I think I’ll head over to the website and do a little more research.

Wendy :: PLEASE – don’t say that! Once a month, it seems, I flirt with some type of bug for a couple of days and then it’s gone…I hope this month I’ll break that cycle!…Yes, I do remember the blizzard of ’96!! *lol* Oh yeah, that was some serious cabin fever!!... HA! You’ve become a yoga convert, haven’t you? I love it!…Sorry your little munchkin is still suffering from the cranky bug…I just love your latest photo, btw.

Marcia :: I bypassed right over that article as I’d rather go natural if possible…the only thing I do consume is the whey protein powder now that I drink protein shakes…Good luck with tonight's sculpting class - I'm sure the gals'll love it!

Judy :: Agreed – I won’t be buying any more issues. Even the so-called articles plug the company's products shamelessly. The one magazine I do like a lot is Women’s Health. Glad you have a TV setup again. Hope you enjoyed the TM run + yoga. I’m going to check out that Finn guy you recommended.

Karen :: sorry about the upset stomach…good for you for getting in a workout despite feeling under the weather!

Gayle :: great workout today! My commute was somewhat treacherous today, so I was surprised we didn't have the 2-hour-delay. That'da been nice.

Carole :: *lol* about DH being clueless about Cathe! :) I think I talk about her to people like she’s my personal trainer.

Barb :: lol again! Too funny. Yes, yes, you’re all enablers…I feel my wallet lightening as we speak, er, type…

Shelly :: Awesome pic! You look great, the shirt looks great, and I was so touched by your sign! :) Thanks! I forgot that we were all supposed to post pics of us in our new cheetah tees. I will do that…but not today (wild hair day) and definitely NOT outside!! Brrrrr!

Colleen :: glad you like the shirt…I never could’ve waited several days to open a package!! I’da gnawed it apart with my teeth! Hope you enjoy today’s workout, whatever it may be.

Susan :: no, I haven’t gotten your check yet. I never did the KM leg cond. drills until the Jan. rotation…I like them, so now I’m trying to do them once a week or every other week as I want to focus more on legs. The Clean Eating magazine has been out a few months. I think you wrote a personal to Shelly but put my name on it by accident (that’s a photo of her, not me). I have a little more meat on my bones. :)

Christine :: congrats on dropping 5 of the 10 already!! Re: the more or less cardio issue…that has been coming up on the boards lately, and it’s been interesting to read how many people have seen better results from more weights, less cardio. I have always been of the mindset that cardio is the key to fat loss, and in the past, I found that running was ideal for me in that regard. But since it’s been so freakin’ cold lately, I decided to rethink my plan a bit…I’m doing more endurance weight work & circuits (my beloved GS is only in one week of my rotation) and am mixing up the cardio – more x-training and intervals than steady-state runs. We’ll see how that works out. It’s possible that people are seeing a difference simply because they are changing what they normally do. Either way, I'm willing to try something new...it can't hurt. What do you think of BFFM overall? Are you glad you downloaded?

Kristi :: so wait – you haven’t done the B&G Leg Blast yet??? Oh, you gotta try it! }( *muah ha ha ha ha*

Jess :: That’s fantastic for Allison! Good stuff. Killer workout, too!

OK, ladies, just a bit of relaxation and then I will strap on the running kicks and hit the ol' TM. Honestly, I feel kinda tired again tonight, but I'm gonna pin the ears back & slog through it!

G'night!
Cathy :)

Hi again cheetahs!

Today I woke up too late for my planned workout, so after the brief cussing session with myself, I settled for the total body premix on Drill Max. Not too bad actually. I would like to squeeze in a 3 mile run on my treadmill tonight if time permits. Story of my life; if time permits! My clean eating is going well, but I sure do miss my glass of “grape juice” on the weekend! :9 Nevertheless, I am really committed to get this fat off of me for good so I must choose wisely. My choices are the magic wand.

Karen: I hope your stomach is better. I’m happy to see you returned to the cheetah board and way to go on the marathon commitment!

Kristi – Thanks. Is this Oxygen clean eating issue you all have picked up a “special issue”? I have the Feb issue, but it only has a one page blurb of Tosca Reno’s clean eating book. (I ordered it though!)

Jess – Awe Jess, our reason for the cheetah’s name – hey, that makes you the “founding cheetah”. ….Our super mom is still going strong; I see you are now the B&G queen! I really like that workout! But I’ve only had the time for the premixes so far. Kudos to your girls..you should be proud of yourself too; you're a great mother!

Cathy – WAAAAHHH! ;( I WANNA SHIRT!! LOL….ok, ok, I’ll buy 2 or 3 if need be. How many more cheetahs missed out and want a shirt? Oh, and I love your honesty in listing your non-clean selections! KFC and a Danish…Oh my goodness…

Sunny – Hope your weather changes soon. Spring like weather does sound refreshing. Dang! You go girl on those hard core workouts!!

Marcia – Oh I hate to wait for the mail delivery when I want to get started on a workout. That’s why I paid extra for overnight shipping to get my beloved gym styles! DOH. Good luck with your P90X quest.

Wendyloo – Joey is sooooo cute! You are just rockin’ on with your P90X. I just can’t get into anything but Cathe. Now on to enabling you on selecting that half marathon this year….. How about the Virginia Beach ½? Hhee heee

Judy – I thought the same about DM. But it is a great workout. I like the way Cathe incorporates the excercises. Also, I thought the same about Oxygen magazine….too many crappy ads. Hope your TV woes are fixed.

Gayle – I want a shirt really bad too! I’ll buy a few if it helps to boost up the number needed for a reorder! Also, I wanted to let you know I have a fairly new WW cookbook I’ll send to you if you would like. I just don’t use it much, and I noticed you use the WW eating plan. I also have an extra points bracelet if you want. Let me know. Good job on your freezing run! You are jammin’ girl!

Carole – Hey! I’m LMAO at your DH’s response to the shirt. Oh geez, my DH would ask me who Cathe is too, even though he looks right at my collection of Cathe workouts everyday whilst on his way to the shower. (DVD’s are in my bedroom entertainment center shelf). My garmin is the Forerunner 305. I love it! I can really track my progress on it with my laptop. Also, I have downloaded the San Diego course on it so that will be fun! What events do you have coming up? Sorry if you already have mentioned; I’ve just been absent awhile… :7

Barb – Uh, thanks for the welcome but I am not a racing machine…lol….I may be signed up but I’m definitely in the mule pack. Well, not too bad I guess, since I’m still ahead of John the Penquin’s pack…lol…

ShellyC- I LOVE your pic! You look great, but the pic makes me real jealous that I missed out on the shirt order! Lol. Congrats on the marathon. What events do you have coming up next? Yeah, I ended up going with my running buddy instead of DH but that was fine with him. My DH will be going to San Diego though because we’ll be celebrating his birthday then. Yep, it was slightly cold at PF Changs. I think my legs were cramping at first from the cold (ding dong me only brought running shorts with her) but then I warmed up a bit. It was fun. We’re headed to Nashville next! Yeee haw!

Colleen! I’ll open that shirt package for you!....hee heeheee

Susan – You really make me want an elliptical at home! What a great idea to hop on the elliptical on the high impact moves. Some of Cathe’s higher impact jumping things scare me because I don’t want to injure my hip again. Anyway, good going with your clean eating and I have the foam roller; love it!. I use it on my quads, glutes, lower back and hips.

Christine! Hi Christine! I hope you feel better and you should sign up for the San Jose ½ pretty soon before it sells out……(hee hee hee heeeeee)

Elaine - HI ELAINE!!! Carole says you are running San DIego in June..is this true? Yay!!

That’s all for now folks…you all are just awesome!

Thomasina
:7

Hi Cheetahs. My workout today was GS chest and tris and 45 minutes elliptical. It's another busy day for me so I don't have much time for personals.

Shelly, Can you describe the wheel thing you use to massage your PF? And with the PF did you find that some days it was more sore than others? Great picture! Your lovely face fits perfectly with your lovely personality!

Thomasina, Yes! Running San Diego RnR in June is my plan. Though I've got this stupid PF that is putting a damper on me doing much more than getting my miles in so it's going to be a slow one. But I don't care really. If I can get it cleared up then I'll put more of my energy into a fall marathon. Let's make sure we meet up at some point OK???

Gotta go get some reading done before my class tonight!

Talk to you later.:)

Hey, Thomasina! Sorry you missed out on the shirts...(funny, my R key is sticky, so whenever I type that word, I keep typing sh*ts)...If you'd be ordering two and so would Linda plus Gayle's one, then we'd be at about 5 right now...maybe we can still make it happen...?

I don't wanna keep pestering, but any other takers for cheetah shirts??

Hi Elaine! Great job fitting in a solid workout into your busy day. I'm sure it's tough with a family and taking classes!

I just finished a 35 min interval run on the TM (watching Seinfeld & Scrubs really made the time fly) plus the leg drills. Those things sure do tire out the hip flexors.

OK, already 8 pm...off to get cleaned up, tackle the wardrobe issues for tomorrow, and settle in on the couch.

Talk to you all in the AM!
Cathy :)

PS...I did a MUCH better job with the eating today...stayed fairly clean except for 1 choc chip cookie and kept the cals down to 1600. I must say, though, I am getting bored with my lunches!

Edited because I can't spell wardrobe
