::: CHEETAHS ::: Wed., 11/8

Hi Cheetahs. I'm doing GS Legs floor only and an elliptical workout today.

Cathy, I was just watching Seinfeld last night. It was the puffy shirt episode! Your Elaine Bennis syndrome cracks me up! I think I might have the syndrome too since I can think of many times when I have barely been able to control my laughter when it would have been polite to try a little harder to do so! I'm anxious to hear how you like LIC.

Sunny, How do you like Barry's Bootcamp? I saw some not so positive reviews on the Open Forum.....

Christine, When is the next time you will be seeing the MD for the biopsy and the thyroid check?

Laurie, That's terrible about your spa closing and the way it was handled! I sort of went through something like that a few years back. I left a very secure job with a large company to go work for a small one. Turned out that they were having some financial difficulties that were not disclosed. Nobody got paid for the first two months I was there and the third month 30% of employess got laid off with me being one of them. It sounds like you have a backup plan although I am sure the worthless $850 check is not something to gloss over.

Susan, You are so welcome. I have found that it somehow makes it easier, if that's the right word, when there are other people to talk to who have experienced similar difficulties that I have. And you know that we all care about you and in extension, your mother as well. I am perfectly serious when I say that you all are in my thoughts and prayers!

Carole, After my DH worked a painful knot out of my calf last night by massaging it then waking up this morning with the discomfort gone I too am a convert to the benefit of massage in helping to heal from injuries. Therefore, I plan on scheduling one for next week a couple of days after my Sunday long run.

I have got to get away from this computer and go work out!!! NOW!!!

So, good morning to Wendy, Mattea, Judy, Linda, Jess and everyone else!

I am back from the gym. I did 50 minutes on the elliptical and it was a great workout. I took my heartrate monitor just to compare it to the read out of the elliptical. My heartrate monitor said I burned 425 and the machine said almost 800. I have never believed the machines. I can' believe how off the machine is.

I am going to go do abs now and then butts and gutts standing later on. I am then off for some sushi, YUM!!!

Elaine, thank you:)

Wendy, that sounds like a great workout. You must be ready for a nap yourself:)

BBL,
Susan

Hi Elaine. What work out did you today?

Susan, LOL, funny you mention the nap as I had just gotten up from taking one when I read your post!:7

Elaine- i am absolutely loving the new barry's. i think the initial response from some were negative however if you check www.videofitness.com, they will have you whippin' out your cc.}( IMO, they are excellent addtions to your workout library.

wendy- well i figured you enabled me with the jari's so now it's my turn. trust me you will not be disappointed}( :p ;) there is definitely some weight work that i've never seen.

Elaine - I go for the Thyroid Ultrasound on Tuesday of next week. The biopsy is going to be scheduled for probably later in the week. I think I'm fine, but it's better to be checked out. Heck, I can still do BM2! :+

Okay! I have a moment here so instead of sneaking on to take peaks, I’m going to write personals! I did want to say that my BM2 DVD did give me a scare at first – it froze right at the beginning. I removed it from the player, blew on it, and popped it back in and had no issues at all. The player in the garage where I work out is a cheapy Sony. (Ya’d think Sony would work with the Sony DVD’s wouldn’t ya?) I’m hoping I have no issues with the others!

Wendy – Glad you are enjoying your job! I think that’s great. I cannot picture you as a collector – you’re such a bright and cheerful person. That would be a downer job! Oh my! That BootCamp workout sounds like a killer!!

Carole – hope mine are like yours! I plan on doing Cardio Fusion tomorrow. I’m very excited, although I don’t know if I’ll survive the BM2 blasts again! Holy Moly!

Laurie – Hope you have fun with LIC! Again, I’m really sorry to hear about the spa! I know you can get other clients, but it has to be really frustrating with the girls to care for and the worry about getting the clients. I’ll be thinking of you! And yes, the leg circuit segment IS tough! But it was fun. I really enjoyed it!

Sunny – how exciting!!! ANY race, no matter how long or how short, is important and exciting! You’re first is extra special!! I’ll be thinking of you!

Mattea – you’re so darned sweet! I’m wiped, but I do feel good at the same time. The last blast was okay, it was the darned first one that killed me!! I don’t know why! Now, those lunges? Holy cow! I thought I’d fall over before they were done! Sounds like you have a plan! Great idea!

Linda – BM2 was fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the moves, although I did trip over my step the first time I tried the Cross Country! I enjoyed the upper body on the ball – different and fun.

Susan – I’ve done that and yeah, understand the food hangover! A Cheetahs GTG has been considered before. So ladies – when shall we plan it? I’m happy to hear about your mom’s strength. She’s an inspiration! What a lady!

Elaine – you are so compassionate. Thank you for all you do and say.

Good afternoon cheetahs,

Quick check-in for me today, I'll try to pop back in later for personals. Today I did the LIC cardio premix, this time I used all 4 risers. I still have to get some of those combos down, a few steps are still a little tricky. It's a great premix and it's about 48 minutes. Yesterday was a rest day for me.

Looks like you all are doing great workouts, enjoy the rest of your day ladies:)!

Cheetahs, I’m baaacck! It’s been a busy thread, I see.

Well, I am opting NOT to do LIC…I was halfway tempted to head out for run in this light rain but have decided to give it a rest. I feel energetic enough to work out but some spontaneous happy hour plans have materialized, so I’ll put off my workout til the morning.

Sunny :: thanks for the link. I’ve bookmarked it, so I can check it out more thoroughly when I have time.

Wendy :: no, no duct tape yet. :) Longest training run has been about 6.5 miles, I’d say. (Previously, my long runs were 9 milers and the longest distance raced was a half.)

Christine :: thanks for the report on BM2. Laughed about the political ads and phone calls. My favorite was the call from Joe Piscopo (of all people!)

Carole :: I have a feeling we’d get in trouble together! lol

Laurie :: OMG…how awful! I’m sorry to hear about the spa’s abrupt closing. I hope you’re able to recover the 850 and find a new spa. *lol* about your yoga stories.

Mattea :: oh no, trust me…I laugh at stupid things…very similar to the Pez dispenser. :) Hope you had a good upper body workout.

Linda :: I agree – dreary here, too. Good workout today! You know what? I was so wound up yesterday that I really wasn’t pooped after doing all that. And I’m happy to say, my stress is gone.

Susan :: mm, Chili’s…I love those southwestern eggrolls, but they are a crazy amount of calories. I bagged LIC for today but will try to get to it this weekend. As excited as I am for the workouts, I am always compelled to want to run first & foremost. I’m sure I will not find LIC as easy, though. I don’t do step workouts, so there’ll be some studying to do. I hope it's not as tough as Imax2.

Elaine (the real Elaine) :: yeah, my worst incident is probably the time I was in a diner & laughed at a guy who sneezed (long story) – he was NOT amused.

OK, cheetahs - I'm off...have a great night!
cathy :)

Cathy, Too funny!!! LOL!! I actually laughed about the sneezer even though I have no idea what the story is! Not knowing what you look like, from here on out I will have the image of Elaine Bennis come to mind when I read your posts!

I'm finally here!! Busy day & I feel guilty posting when I haven't had time for personals lately! And my keyboard wasn't working this afternoon, I could read posts but couldn't type a response! My dh got it fixed for me. ;-)

Well, I had my first PT appt this morning. I took a pair of loose athletic shorts since I heard that was a good idea. I'm glad that I did & shaved my legs! Of course, it's hard to explain where the pain is since I only feel it while running/ biking! I had to do different stretches to see where I felt pain & the only one that really hurt was the one where you cross your legs & stick out your hip. My hip felt soooo tight & painful then (that always kills me!). So.. he felt my hip & definitely felt the tightness & could feel my IT band. Soo... he did an ultrasound after rubbing cortisone cream on my hip. It just felt warm, nothing painful. It's supposed to help bring blood flow to the area & help it to heal quicker. He also recommended going back on naproxen regularly to help the inflammation. And he gave me a couple more stretches to add to the ones I'm already doing, 3x a day. I go back 3x next week for more u/s. It already feels a bit less tight, so we'll see how it works.
He said to continue what I'm doing as long as I don't feel any pain in the hip/ knee.

So... I did GS legs & then the abs from KPC & SJP this afternoon. We headed outside after the girls got home, it was almost 70 today!! Talk about a heat wave!

There's my update for anyone interested!

Oh, and I got the notice- my new workouts will be here TOMORROW!! YIPPEE!

Cathy ~ You had some great workouts y'day!! I did GS C & T y'day also, I just love that one. It's one of my favorites. I need to get 20 lb dumbbells now, I use 15's & I used my 1.5 lb ankle weights on each wrist to add a little weight to the chest exercises.

I laugh at silly things too, I would have a hard time keeping a straight face in yoga!!! I remember my brother & I would get in trouble for getting the giggles in church, it's sooo hard not to laugh when you're supposed to be quiet!!

Have a fun night!

Susan ~ I'm so sorry you're going through this w/ your Mom. I hope all goes well for her. Keep us posted.

I hope your dh had a happy bday!! Sushi sounds wonderful! And so does Indian food & Chili's too!! Wow, that would be a food hangover!! ;-)

I'm with you on missing the running but enjoying my Cathe workouts! :)

Hi Jess, Sent you an email. Did you get it?

Do you (or anyone else) know what the difference is between taking ibuprofen or naproxen for inflamation?
