Good morning, cheetahs :)

Not a whole lot to catch up with from last night, but personals first:

Shelly :: holidays always seem to be busier for you at work, don't they? Glad the workout was the perfect destresser.

Linda :: you're right ~ I shouldn't make this whole week about doing work. Grades are due the week we come back... I am usually better about not getting backed up with grading. This year I've gotten myself backed up and into some pinches.

Christine :: *lol* of course, you are wished a gn whether I came back or not - didn't realize how idiotic that sounded! :)...I like the alternatives to Bobby. Frankie or Louie would be my pick. Sorry--at the moment, my brain isn't coming up with anything else. I guess it has to have a human name?

Jackie :: I was wondering who put out JFB...the name made me chuckle too. For some reason, I hate the words "buns" and "fanny." I have Firm tapes, too (which I don't use anymore) and used to just cringe every time I heard "fanny lifter." *lol*

Wendy :: good job getting out there and snapping out of the funk. It must have been contagious because I wound up NOT doing my planned workout and just doing a long stretch with the new foam roller instead.

So this morning will be CST + ARX nice & early - that is, *before* the spa appointments.

Have a great day, everyone! :)
~Cathy :)

Good morning, Cheetahs -

Cathy - enjoy your workout AND the spa appointment.;-)

I'm so tired today is amazing that I can type at all....:-( I'm trying to drink coffee as fast as I can to get me awake. I must've really worked my class hard if I'm this tired. Tonight I have to run if at all possible, but we have some rain and snow coming our way later this afternoon so it depends on when that hits us. If not, I'll
be doing a CC workout on the elliptical.

Take care, Marcia.

GOOD MORNING!!!:) :) I'm super excited to be back!!! I went for a 'walk' last night and ended up running 4k!!!! I haven't run in months and it felt fabulous to move these legs, feel my rate of respiration get into a groove and break a sweat in near freezing temps. I am so happy to be coming back to Cheetah mode....perhaps more of a cub for the next bit but after thinking for months that I might not run anymore...I DID IT AND I LIKED IT!!! }( :7 :)

Happy Birthday Cathy!!!

Good morning Marcia!!:)

Looking forward to catching up with everyone over, it's been a while :)

Take Care
Laurie

~~~~~~~~HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHY!!!!!!!~~~~~~~
The spa day should be a great way to enjoy your birthday young lady!!!!
Hi Marcia:: I hope that coffee kicks in soon!
Linda:: I am doing 'Cathe a la cart' legs. For example Yesterday I chose from B&G squat and lunge combo, one legged squats, all Stability ball and all ankle weight legs work. Tomorrow might be something like ankle weight work from L&G plus fire walkers x2.
Shelly:: I wish I could say I was pain free, but it is getting better. If I didn't have to sit it would help. But after Carole's example of FS legs, I remembered that the PT suggested to me to keep working my legs to get them strong and equal. ( DS has to be at a training clinic 80 miles away 4 days this week, so I am doing more driving than usual. But I am icing for the beginning of each trip)
Today is GS Chest & Tri and 30" cardio choice (non running today) and abs. With that said, I better get going!!
If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.
Thanks, ladies, for putting a smile on my face! :)
Marcia :: hope the storm derails so you can get in your run…I haven’t run in awhile myself – I haven’t been in the mood to brave the wind and the TM just doesn’t inspire me. This has been an unusual winter for me as I've backed off of running quite a bit -- usually I can't get myself to do anything else for cardio!...Hope the java jolts you awake…your schedule looks tough, so I can understand why you’d be feelin’ pooped!
Laurie :: *doing a happy dance that you’re back!* We’ve SO missed you around here!! We definitely need to get caught up with what’s been going on on the dating front. (Here: NADA! *lol*) Glad you enjoyed your run.
Judy :: wow, did that feel good being called “young lady!” *lol* (My students think I’m a geezer. HA)…have a great w/out – sounds like a goodie!
I just finished my lesson plans for the week after break and am now giving myself one more hour to putz around before I tackle my workout. I plan to work hard, so I really earn that massage! BBL!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have an awesome day, Cathy! As far as I'm concerned, we're all 21 year old Cheetahs running around this place! LOL
Laurie-great job on the run. Feels good, doesn't it??? And I'm always up for some dating gossip. I'll share mine if you share yours! LOL
I have to go back and read yesterday's posts. I was MIA yesterday, for the last day of the kids home. They returned to school this morning. It's been an awesome Spring Break and I was sad to send them on that bus just now. Boo Hoo! LOL.
As for me, yesterday was absolutely a disaster. I decided to take a rest day, which was so badly needed. Well, it turned into an eating buffet all day and all night. I woke up at 1am sick to my stomach. It was to the point where I actually wished it would all come back up and out (yuck, sorry). But, went back to bed and slept in. Still feeling kind of icky, but not bad. I'm shifting all this week's workotus one day, so today is going to be a second day of rest, but the eating is back in check. Gotta admit, though, that it sometimes feels good to just give in every now and then (within control, of course).
OK....gotta get going. BBL sometime.
Gayle
Hi Cheetahs!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHY!!!! Hope it’s simply fabulous!!! A Spa treatment on your birthday? WOW! Sounds wonderful. Enjoy your day – you deserve a wonderful one!
Marcia – I know what you mean about dragging you butt out of bed. I’ve been working really hard for the past few days and I’m thinking something calmer would be good today!
Laurie – Welcome Back! We’ve missed you! It does feel great to get out there and just move, doesn’t it?
Judy – Sorry you’re still hurting! Hope the PT helps you feel better soon. That’s one heck of a lot of driving this week! I’ll be thinking of you!
Gayle – sorry about your “buffet day” yesterday. I hate when I wake up like that. It DOES feel good to indulge, though… Hope you’re feeling better today!
Not sure what I’m going to do today – maybe yoga, core synergistics, or a stretch tape. I need something a bit lower key. I’m actually thinking CS would be good. If my coworker is in today (she works from home a few days a week), we’ll probably do some yoga at noon – if not, I’ll probably skip an afternoon workout. Hope y’all have a fabulous day!!!
Good Morning Cheetahs!
I am either going to do yoga or core syn today. I will let my mood decide when it is time for me to work out. :)
I think I have finally created a BBC rotation that is to my liking. I plan to start it on Monday:
M: Full Body weights/ Running Class PM
T: Cathe Cardio of choice
W: Butt&Legs w/Chin-Ups + Chest& Abs (no cardio)
R: AM Spin/PM Yoga
F: Shoulders&Back + Arms & Abs (no cardio)
S: Run
S: Rest
So with the exception of Thursday's spin/yoga combo, all work outs should be about an hour in length. I am hoping to stick to it through the end of April. If I like what Cathe comes up with for May I will do her rotation. If not...who knows!? LOL
Okay, I have been lazy about it long enough...time for personals!:7
Cathy: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Ooooh, have fun with your spa day! Sounds wonderful!:) A massage sounds like the PERFECT thing to do after an X work out!
Marcia: Hope you start to wake up! I know what you mean about being tired. After about a month, the X was wearin' me down. I've been napping almost DAILY since the onset of Phase 2! I hoping to regain my energy now that it's over!
Laurie: Welcome back hon! I missed you! Congrats on your run! Hope you stick around!
Judy: Hope you had a good work out. So are you still applying the chi principals to your running? How is that working out for you?
Gayle: Sorry about your bad eating day. I know what it's like. I've been there! Drink lots of water and work out hard! You'll feel better soon!
Christine: Sounds like we are on the same page with our work outs today! Enjoy whatever it is you decide to do! So do you have a start date for the new job yet?
Cathy ~ Happy Birthday!!!! Have an awesome spa day, that sounds like the *perfect* birthday!! My bday is coming up next month, I'm not sure that I'm ready for it yet though. :eek:
So you're liking the foam roller?? I used mine last night too, it really does work those tight spots!
Enjoy your day!!
G'morning Cheetahs! I was busy cleaning & taking care of a sick cub y'day. We got the *correct* medicine. She's still coughing a lot though, definitely has a touch of bronchitis too. She said that she had a *weasel* in her chest. (I had told her before that she sounded wheezy & she thought I said weasel- LOL!!!) At least she's eating a bit, skinny girl has no weight to lose!
I'll drop Allison off at preschool this morning & Kiersten & I can just hang out. We played a few rounds of Pretty Pretty Princess & Go Fish y'day. ;-)
I ended up doing LowMax w/ an 8 lb medicine ball y'day (thanks to the thread about AquaJock's recommendation). I loved it!! The low impact is fine w/ my calf & the ball really added to the blasts!
I think I'll do Power Hour later & a CoreMax segment. My P90X is still in route, (stuck in Canada!). We'll wait til next week to start since I'll be gone at a ladies retreat Fri & Sat w/ our ladies from church.
And check out some new pics. I even added a new avatar! ;-) Greg & I at my Mom's house.
Good morning everyone!
Cathy - HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!! :7 I wish you a wonderful, relaxing day! I really hope you enjoy the spa treatment and your workout!
Marcia - I hope you feel better and get some energy! Enjoy your run if you are able to run...or your EXT workout if you decide to do that, instead!
Laurie !!! Hi there! We have really missed you! Good job on the run!
Judy - Thanks! I like the ala carte idea! I will try that during the P90X! Enjoy your workout!!
Gayle - I had an eating fest yesterday, too;( Sorry it made you feel so yucky! But, I do agree....sometimes ya just gotta let up a little! I always do that on Monday's:+ Sorry the kiddies had to go back to school....but it is great that you had such a wonderful spring break with them!
Christine - Hmmm...that wasn't very nice of that lady to get snippy with you about the puppies! My mind is blank trying to think of suggestions for the names! Your ideas sound really cute! I will put my thinking cap on today and "try" to think! Enjoy your workout! I am kind of anxious for CS to come up in my P90X rotation!
Wendy - That looks like a good plan!
This morning I did CIA's All Body Attack and floorwork from Firm Vol I. That was a great workout! It was really different in spots and I enjoyed it a lot! Man....I miss my treadmill, though;(
have a great day, everyone and Hi to everyone that checks in later!!!
Linda
Jess - I am glad she got the correct medicine now...and hopefully she will start getting that "weasel" out of her chest! ;-) Bless her heart! I will have to try LM with a medball! Great idea! Enjoyu PH and now I am off to check out your new pics and avatar!
Linda
Thanks, Linda!! I didn't get as many pics as I normally would since Kiersten was not so photogenic. You can always tell when she's sick- she's so pale & lifeless which is not like her usual happy smiling face. :-(
You definitely should try LM w/ the med. ball! It adds a lot to the blasts. Especially since I'm on the low-impact exercises for now, I need something to get my heart pumpin'! ;-)
Good morning everyone!
Cathe - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I still have all of my Firm workouts but I just don't do them as much as I use to. Every now and then I may throw one in or even do a week of Firms. Hope you had a nice workout. Enjoy your spa day!
Marcia - Hope you find some energy. Starting to rain here too.
Laura - Welcome back! Glad you had a great run!
Judy - Enjoy your workout!
Gayle - Sorry to hear you had a bad day yesterday. Nothing wrong with giving into those urges sometimes. Enjoy your rest day.
Christine - How nice to have a friend to do yoga with.
Wendy - Rotation looks good. Glad your mood is better.
Jess - Hope Kiersten gets to feeling better. Like your avatar. You look great!
I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and B&G Floor & Abs premix and Winsor Pilates Back. I skipped the warm up and the second set of straigh leg lifts in B&G. Still got a good workout.
Enjoy your day!
Jackie
Good morning cheetahs
http://myglitterspace.com/glitters/bday/26.gif[/img] Cathy!!! Have a great time at the spa. My therapist thought the foam roller was a good thing. I showed it to my nephew (chiro) too and he really liked it. He massaged his calfs a bit. Enjoy your workout before the spa.
Marcia...I hate those days when the coffee does not seem to work fast enough!
Laurie...welcome back...we missed you...:)
Judy...enjoy your GS workout and cardio.
Gayle...sorry about the eating binge. I think all of us have that once in awhile. I think its fine as long as you clean it up the next day...
Christine...the core work during the intervals is actually more of a functional fitness core workout, using the med ball over your head and back down as you lunge does work the core to some degree. For some reason I seem to like Louis as a name for your puppy. The massage was wonderful and today I feel so good. I think that is nice you have a co-worker you can workout with at lunch.
Wendy...that is great about Joey's Dr appt. Glad he is doing well...Your BBC rotation looks good. Have fun with yoga or core syn.
Kristi...good job on the 10 miler...:)
Sunny...sorry about your son's imsonia yesetrday! I hope you got caught up on some sleep. I have not tried any iSculpts...yet...:)
Linda...my massage therapist thought the foam roller was a good idea for those sore spots. She teased me and said "Don't use it too much or you might not come back"...I laughed and said her hands were the best thing and I'd always be back. That is great about your daughter's using TM too! How fun to do some races with them. Sounds like a good workout today.
Jess...glad your little one is doing better. I will have to try Lowmax AJ's way with a ball...sounds so fun.
Susan...thanks, Sadie does keep us smiling! The massage was wonderful.
Shelly...sounds like Easter was busy for you at work. Thanks about Sadie, I have been told she looks like a german shepherd puppy. It must be the coloring. My therapist liked the foam roller. I know I was alot less tight during my massage yesterday than I had been previously. Hope you and DH had a good ride.
Jackie..the massage was wonderful and greatly needed. I usually skip the 2nd set of straight leg lifts in B&G too! Sounds like a good workout.
I am doing GS standing legs and a 4 mile run. Also some abs. I am hoping to finish my taxes too today...
Have a great day...:)
Linda: Last minute tax girl I see? LOL DH and I tend to be that way as well. We were on the ball this year and got 'em done in March. Odd thing for us! LOL :p
Jess: The weasel comment is too funny! Kids are the best! Hope she feels better! I am so excited for you to get and begin an X rotation!!!! I know you'll LOVE it!
Jackie: You put together great work outs. I wish I had the creativity and patience to piece things together like that. I only do it on rare occasions.
Carole: Have fun with GS legs and your run today! Running after leg work is great. It just frees up the legs so nicely after a tough weight work out!:)
Good morning all! The cheetahs are all off to a busy start today!
I had such a fabulous motorcycle ride yesterday with DH. We went off road for some true dirt biking on some really rocky twisty terrain. I was gripping the handles HARD and concentrating even harder but I didn't slip at all:7 DH rigged up some two way radios with headsets fitted inside our helmets so we can talk while we ride!
Cathy- :+ :+ :+ Happy Birthday!!!!!:+ :+ :+ I wish I could come up with the beautiful graphic inserts Carole does! You do so much for everyone else I am so glad to see you are giving yourself a spa day treat for yourself!!
Linda- No Sole TM yet:( I'm not sure I've heard of that brand, but I bet its a good one. I bet you'll be attacking the delivery guys when it comes and hopping on it right away;-)
Christine- I'd be having the same reaction with the new puppie's name. Anything but gangsta hip hop!!! The "blues" theme I like!!!
Have a great time with your low key workout today!
Jackie- Thanks for sharing about the 65 y/o runner and her 10k PR
yesterday. I love inspiring stories like that one!!! It really gives me hope that I can improve despite advancing age. I always do regret though that I didn't start running when I was young! Nice workout today with the EXT and B&G!
Marcia- I hope the weather cooperates for you with your run. If not, the CC on the EXT is a great alternative.
Laurie!!!!! How wonderful that you're back!!! Did you injure yourself? Or just lost the motivation? Doesn't matter.... we have our favorite Canadian cheetah back chattin with us!! Great job on your run!
Judy- I can see why long car rides would be pretty hard to endure :eek: Have fun with the drop sets of push ups today!!!
Gayle- With your current fitness level I think a day of bad eating would have little or no effect beyond some stomach queeziness.
You must be a great mom.... most parents are rejoicing at the end of spring break!
Wendy - I love your BBC rotation! You come up with some very sensible plans.... another reason you'll make a great PT!!!! Sounds like you're off to a great start with your running class. Are the others in it at your level more or less?
Jess- I'm glad Kiersten is feeling better! I got a chuckle out of her "weasel" in the chest comment! Kids can say the cutest things.
I love your new avatar pic!!!
Carole- I see your back to your 4 mile mid week run :7 I've always been compulsive with the taxes and usually get them done the first week in Feb. (Disgusting... I know!) I have plenty of other things I procrastinate about though to make up for it! Wow, that's great that both your nephew and massage therapist gave the thumbs up about the foam roller!
Time's a wastin.... today will be a pretty long interval run... about 6 miles :7 And then BBC Arms and Abs. I have a nice 4 night stretch off but there's several meetings I have to attend at my hospitalx(
Have a great one!
