Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs! :)

This afternoon's workout will be a run -- outdoors if I can get home from work early enough...otherwise, the TM.

Now I need to go catch up w/ y'day's posts. Looks like it was a busy day!!

Cathy :)

Sunny ::: Congrats on the 3 lb. loss!! I am part of a weight-loss challenge at school, so it’s already in effect for me. Our next weigh-in is Thursday...Yes, I bought Clean Eating and promptly returned it as it includes the same exact info you’ll find in Oxygen magazine’s Clean Eating special issue for much le$$!

Barb ::: glad your kids had a successful swim weekend…Thanks for the book recommendation. I will check it out. I’m sure I won’t go totally vegan, but I do think my diet needs more fruit and veggies. I need to order more bands, too.

Wendy ::: yes, you might call it an endurance rotation…you know how much I love and gravitate toward GS…but this month, I’ll be doing more endurance and circuits. I also have k’box in there at least once a week. No worries on the check…they are still trickling in…and the shirts are still in production, anyway. But I imagine they should be shipping SOON. Yay!...Glad you are able to tear through your PT manual – even the boring parts. I’m curious to see what your recovery week will be like!…Sorry about the bug – I hope you’re feeling better. I add a zinc supplement when I do the Airborne and it seems to be a good combo.

Laura ::: If the zig-zag calculator is giving you figures that are obviously too low/unsafe, I would say you’d have to crunch your numbers manually. For your low-calorie days, aim for 15-20% less than your maintenance level. That would be much more do-able. This is a great site for estimating calories burned and figuring out BMR & RMR: http://caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.html

Shelly ::: glad work has been slow & uneventful (for a change) and you are enjoying a recovery week. I agree about Zappos service…it was lightning quick!

Kristi ::: excellent job with the weight loss!! Rock on! The zig-zagging really does work. Sorry about the nightmare – it’s strange just how disturbing and how real some of them can be. Hope you feel more rested today.

Karen ::: I am still not totally sold on Jari Love—I have only done RTTC & S&L a handful of times--but I’m working on the whole mix-it-up thing, so I’m hoping it grows on me, too.

Susan ::: sorry about the mishap with your new elliptical…but congrats on ordering a top-of-the-line model…LOL about taking its cost to your grave…Nah, I don’t think it makes you a spoiled, high-maintenance wife -- you two are making an investment in equipment that you’ll surely be using A LOT, so it makes sense to buy a quality machine! I have been doing B&G in my rotations, but not regularly…Usually, I get to it every other week. In my Feb. rotation, I am scheduled to do legs 2x a week, but you have me thinking maybe I oughta make both days B&G. Glad to hear you are seeing such tremendous results!!

Judy ::: yes, I did get ETL . You may have missed my post to you from yesterday, so I’ll recopy it here. I picked up Eat to Live…Thanks for the recommendation…What I was reading made sense, but I know it’s too hardcore for me to adopt all the way…I don’t know that 100% clean eating or a vegetarian approach is possible for me, but I *can* make some changes to improve things and move in that direction. Again, a good read…thanks for sharing it! Wow! Your DD is moving into the city?? How exciting! Grueling workout y’day – WTG!!

Colleen ::: thanks! The city was the only part I couldn’t make out. :) Stay warm!!

Carole ::: thanks for the link…it is something I will check into & consider! What a blast that would be. We could make a weekend out of it. Hope the pain in your back has calmed.

OK, everyone, have a GREAT day & workout! Catch up again later.

Cathy :)

Hi Cheetahs:

Cathy - your money is in the mail, so hopefully you get it in a day or so.:)

Like Cathy, I'm going to have to check yesterday posts as well, lots goin' on to catch up on ;-)

Today is my 37th birthday! So, of course, we are going out to eat :9 :9 , but I've promised myself to be a good girl anyway. I also have a doctor's appointment to check on something that's not quite right. Too bad it had to be on my birthday, but that's life.

I'm going to treat myself to either some of Cathe's DVD or P90X for my birthday??? That's a really hard one for me. Obviously, I love Cathe and have all her DVD's except the Hardcore and the latest four; but P90X really intrigues me and seems to be something that could give me the change that I'm looking to create with my body. Any advice on that decision? :)

I sure hope you all have a wonderful day! I know I will. :)

Take care, Marcia.

good morning-

It is snowing here like crazy. The kids will probably have another delay. I will have to wait and see.
cathy- thanks, according to that I need to eat around 5oo less calories to lose 8lbs in 2months. Thats all I really want to lose,I figure that isnt that much but on me it takes alot to even lose that little amount of weight. I now in the spring I will lose, I usually do just getting out and running more outdoors. I cant wait! I am focusing on eating better and less but I do have my cravings on days that I just cant conquer and usually give in. It will take me time as I am a person that cant just totally quite eating things I love all at once. I am doing things gradually. breakfast and lunch are usually good it is when I get home thats the problem for me. I generally eat either a omlett with green pepper and mushroom and fruit or wheat toast with skippy all natural PB and fruit. Lunch is usually a salad at work with the new wish bone salad spritzer,good by the way , and 2 boiled eggs and fruit and water. dinner varies on what I make for the family but that is when the grazing seems to come in effect,not always but that is when or if I lose control. but like I said it is getting better just have some days where I am not doing as well as others whichis going to happen.

I might run the stairs at lunch time today for 10 minutes. I have notice the last 2 times in class that it has been harder for me since we had that 2 week break. I have to get my endurance up on running those. I was able to do 10- straight minutes easy on the stairs.

talk with you all later!

marcia HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!:) :)

WENDY- Hope you are feeling better!!! and yes I need to change things up abit, just dont know what yet. I cant follow p90x completely since I teach bootcamp 2x week and I havent been great with following rotations. I think I will try though. I will sub the cardio for runs though I think. I didnt find their cardios very tough at all. but in bootcamp I will be doing wts also but we usually only do no more than 3 sets per muscle group and usually just one exercise also per muscle group due to adding spirts of cardio in.

have a great day everyone!

Thanks, Laura, :)

I've been catching up on the posts from yesterday and before; I probably missed it, but did anyone post a website explaining the zigzag weight method?

Thanks,
Marcia.

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Wow, lots of action already and it's barely 6:30am! Ya gotta get up pretty early to get a jump on this crowd, ey? ;) LOL

Cathy: Phew, I feel better about the check. I was starting to think I was going to be "The Biggest Loser" (and not for weight loss!) because I was late getting the $$$ to you!!! LOL If you need me to, I will hold on to the GS series for you so you can't cave and give up on the endurance rotation you are trying. Don't worry-I won't sell the vids on ebay behind your back either! LOL :p You gotta give it a month girl! You can do it! Resist temptation! :)

Marcia: Happy Birthday girl! Enjoy your dinner tonight! I hope the doc appointment goes well and that there is nothing wrong! I used to have a site saved about zig zagging but I deleted it. ARGH! If you search though, others have posted various sites about it.

Laura: Running stairs? YIKES! I've never tried that and don't think I want to! I'm chicken! LOL Good luck on however you decide to attack a new plan of action for yourself. I'm sure it's hard to organize your own fitness plan when you are teaching classes. I think that would frustrate me. Heck, I have to take ONE class a week at my gym to qualify for a free membership and THAT can frustrate me! In that way I guess I AM a bit OCD about my work outs. Aaaahhh well....could be worse, right? :)

Well, today is core syn for me. I've only done the first 20 mins of this work out ONE TIME before now. Should be interesting. I hear it's a TOUGH one! Any opinnions on that statement anyone would like to share?? I want to know what I'm in for!}(

I have a busy day ahead of me: I have to work today until 11am and then I need to hit the grocery store for a few things. After that it's home for lunch and putting DS down for a nap before I can do my work out and hit the showers. I won't have much time to play this afternoon as we are going to MIL's for dinner so I need have myself and DS ready to hit the road by about 4 pm when DH gets home! :eek: I'm going to be running a tight ship after work today...I HATE THAT! LOL

Hope everyone has a pleasant morning!

Wendy- You are doing fantastic with that tight ship! It keeps us out of trouble- no time to shop on line....

Cathy- Y'day WAS busy here, I haven't read all of it. Got to move on... have a decent run either way. We now have too much snow on the groundto run outside at least for now.

~~~~~Marcia~~~~~ Happy Birthday!! Enjoy the day :7
Hi Laura :)
Hi everyone else- GTG now
WO= elliptical 30" and GS CH & Tri supersets with extra push ups....( super set pre mix doesn't do as many as original)
Judy "Likes2bfit"
cathy- I am with wendy. I will send the check in the next two days. I havent forgot ya!! and glad I am not the last one either.
marcia-yes I seen the zig zag method. It dipped a little lower for me than I would do though. I would have to add some calories. Thanks!
Good morning cheetahs! My goodness we were a chatty group yesterday!
I see the usual east coast early birds have checked in:) Of course in my case it's the end of my work day.
Cathy- Hope you can get in a good run today. I didn't even realize you have a TM, you never mention it. It is tedious and I always feel somewhat like a rat on a wheel.
Marcia :+ :+ :+ HAPPY BIRTHDAY:+ :+ :+ Be good to yourself! Great idea to treat yourself with new workouts. I don't think you could go wrong with either p90x or the Cathe's. Hope your MD appt goes well for you!
Laura- You're sounding a little more focused and positive on your goals now:) Great idea for using the stairs at lunch to increase your cardio.
Wendy- I love doing long ab workouts! It's the long yoga sessions that I find vERY hard! I can rarely get through those completely before I get impatient and move on to something else. Your PT cert program sounds ideal, hope the studying is going well for ya!
Kristi- Congrats on your weight loss!
Carole- I hope your back is feeling better today! Are you still planning on doing the 10 mile race? The Clam Beach run sure does look like fun! I'd like to run the Las Vegas marathon on Dec2 which would be about 8 weeks earlier. Do you think that would be too little time in between?
Susan- Sorry you've been sick :( Great news about the fantastic new elliptical!!!! You do have a generous and sweet hubby:)
Christine- Hugs to you for your difficult day yesterday. A mother is so special... That was a sweet wonderful way to remember her.
Going for a major torture session with the legs today, eh?
Time is running out on me, time to get back to work. Sorry if I've missed anyone, purely unintentional! You are ALL the greatest!
Today will be Muscle Max. I've done little or no cardio for 3 days now..... I'm so dang proud of myself :7
ShellyC
Today is a five mile run for me. My girls have a pottery class today so we will be out most of the day. I'll check back in later with personals.
Cathy- It does take some time but I'm feeling Jari in my legs today so it did the trick.
Marcia- Happy Birthday
Judy- Good mix of exercise to do today. I need my eliptical. I need my eliptical.
ShellyC- Great job on the cardio. Now for the fun MM. Enjoy
Good morning cheetah!
I hope everyone is having a good day already. Today I plan to run 3 miles on the treadmill. Depending on the run, I might add another mile. Saturday I bought some new running shoes and I need to break them in. I love getting new shoes, but I hate the breaking them in part.
Cathy – Thanks for the zigzag website. I like that much better than the free dieting one I keep referring back to.
Carole – The Trindad to Clam Beach race course looks absolutely beautiful. How fun to be running with other cheetahs. I can’t commit to anything that far ahead right now, but I would love to do it. I will have to see what DH has to say. I've never really traveled far for a race, but it would be so great to meet other cheetahs. I love how it has different race distances. I hope your back starts feeling better.
Wendy – You are really coming along with your PT manual. Great job on the P90X. I always loved the recovery week. Good luck with Core Synergistics. I’ve only completed it once, but I vaguely remember it being a tough workout. Are you feeling better today? Have a good day at work.
Christine – I’m sorry you had to deal with the anniversary of the death of your mother yesterday. It is so hard when a parent dies. The mini-memorial service at your home sounds like a very comforting & healing moment. What a wonderful idea. I wish we would have done something like that after my dad passed away.
Sunny D – Great job on the weight loss! How's the PT going?
Susan – Congrats on your new elliptical. Your DH is a sweetie. Teh new elliptical is definitely a worthy investment.
Marcia – Happy Birthday! Enjoy your day!
Hi to Jess, Laura, Colleen, Judy, Karen, and other cheetahs I may be missing.
Hi Cheetahs,
Quick check in as I have to leave for work 5 minutes ago.
Got an annoying 3.5 mile run in outside in cold, snowy weather & HSC abs back at home. I hope to get another 1.5 miles in on the TM when I get home from work, before kids get home and do some floorwork.
Cathy—glad the book info looks good. Today, my iPod and Garmin both died halfway through the run. I guess it’s really good I didn’t have a pacemaker, cuz if that died, too, really bad run for me!
Marcia—Happy birthday!! Be good, but still have fun on that dinner out tonight!
Shelly—keep up that good restraint on cardio. It’s difficult but necessary to get yourself healed!
More personals later….
Have a great day Cheetahs!
Good morning cheetahs
Cathy...enjoy your run this afternoon. My back seems better today. I was doing research on sciatic/piriformis pain last night and this pain seems higher in my back so hoping it won't travel lower...
Marcia...http://bestsmileys.com/birthday1/9.gif[/img] My vote would be for P90X...it is a great series and a nice compliment to Cathe workouts.
Laura...sounds like you are on the right track. There are a few of us cheetahs wanting to loose some weight...
Shelly...have fun with MM. Good job on no cardio...my back does feel better, I'll see how it feels after my workout! Clam Beach 8 weeks after the Las Vegas marathon. I am sure that would be enough time for you ro be recovered. Each marathon recovery gets easier...
Wendy..sending healing vibes....hope you are feeling better today. Enjoy Core Syn, its a great core workout. Hope things go smoothly in your busy day...
Judy...good workout and extra push-ups?....way to go....I like the GS superset for chest so I don't have to do too many.
Karen...thanks, my back is feeling better...:)..When is your Elliptical coming? Enjoy your 5 mile run and pottery day with the girls.
Kristi...aren't new shoes fun. I got some new trail shoes yesterday, can't wait to try them out. Clam beach is a fun run and it would be so fun to meet some cheetahs there...:)
Barb...so far, so good with my back. Its a bit sore but definitely better. I think its exciting you are researching Ellipticals..sorry about the run in tough weather conditions. Good thing you have a TM...
Christine...I hope today is better. Anniversaries like those can be hard. My thoughts are with you...There is no big deal about the Krystal. Its kind of a long story but I might be trying the Krystal product as my normal local distibuter of nail suppiles has stopped carrying the Linen Batiste product I use so I have had to go to the actual Linen Batiste rep herself. She is sending me a Krystal sample to try...
I am doing GS legs (I was going to do PLB but don't want to lift those barbells over my head so many times with my back being sore), then I will do an iClimb on the Elliptical.
Have a great day...:)
Oh my! Remember me? LOL I keep jumping from one check in to the next! LOL. I'm back to the Cheetahs, cuz that's how I'm acting now! LOL
I'm sure I've got a lot of catching up to do with you all, but I'm BACK!
Long story short (cuz I'm short on time) is that I'm officially running again to train for races. I've got a half at the end of April and a few shorter ones between then and now, including a 10K this Super Bowl Sunday!
I'm making my long runs fall on Mondays so I can run outside while my kids are in school. Sunday long runs weren't working out for me. So....yesterday was a long run of 7 miles. Today was PUB and a short, 2 mile run outside in the 15 degree weather to go get my car from the mechanic.
BBL sometime, promise. Count me as Cheetah Gayle now! (I just hope those at the P90X checkin and others don't come hunting me down! LOL)
Gayle
Hi everyone! Another one that has disappeared for a while :+ This month has been a rough one and a very busy one!
Cathy - I was out of the country when you sent me the pm. I am sorry that I didn't get to reply before the deadline! I replied back to you Sunday or Monday...not sure if you saw it or not! I guess it is too late to order a shirt. Let me know for sure.
Hope everyone is doing well!
My running has been mixed in with a lot of racewalking lately. I injured my leg a few weeks ago and I had to walk a couple of days instead of running. I enjoyed it so much that I started incorporating it into my weeks as well as running. My leg is feeling better, but I have still be racewalking some. Anyway....would that still count as a "Cheetah" ;)
Hopefully things will be better now and I will try to check in regularly again!
Linda
Gayle - WELCOME BACK!!! I KNOW that I can speak for all of us when I say "We've missed you!!"
Glad you are back!
