::::: CHEETAHS ::::: Tues., 2/6

I got my shirt today!! Yeah! It looks awesome! Thanks Cathy!!

Well, this will be my last post for today. Work is closing early. We have about an inch of snow already and we are expecting a total of 3-6 by tomorrow morning. The roads are already getting bad. Our state is not equiped for much snow like the northern states so this is a big deal for us.

Anyway, if the daycare is closed tomorrow then it will be a snow day for me too and I won't be able to post due to my computer not working at home.

Pray for lots of snow!! This will be a good one for sledding and making snowangels with DS.

Have a good day and try to keep warm.

Question for Wendy or anyone else with Body Fat Calipers - what brand do you recommend, where did you get them and do you use them on yourself or have someone help you?

Quick post from me! I swear that I posted earlier, but the phone rang so I must not have hit post! Oops!

Anyway, the weather keeps getting worse, more & more snow coming down! The girls will be home any minute, they are letting them out an hour early because of the weather. I don't think we'll be making it to ice skating tonight!

I didn't go to the Y this morning because of the weather, so I came home & did Cardio Fusion, the 80 min Mix & Max premix! It's a goodie!! }(

OK, gotta run. I think we'll work on their school Valentines when they get home so they'll be done early!!

AHhhhhhhhhhh GEEZ! Now I want to do the Cardio Fusion Mix & Max premix! Thanks a LOT, Jess! LOL

I'm so easily persuaded into workotus sometimes! lol

Gayle

LOL- sorry!! I couldn't decide what cardio to do, but this was a good choice! :) I think I can do the warm-up to BM2 in my sleep now! ;) And I just love the drills from DM!! Anyway, not to enable you at all.....:p

That's ok, now I want to do IMAX 3 because of all of the talk about it! I'm thinking that might be Thursday's workout!

jess- 80 mins???????????!!!! you are superwoman, lol:7

gayle- i love his quotes also..no yogaX for me today. i punked out.:+

Hello again! Back for another cheetahfix with this wonderful group:) I had an awesome time with Drillmax and am now fidgeting waiting for my elliptical to comex(

Wendy- did you end up doing the DM premix? The ultracardioblast is a fryer for sure! The tylenol vs motrin question is a confusing one.
From a medical perspective I can tell you that for fever reduction we rarely use anything but Tylenol. Tylenol is a primary antipyretic whereas Motrin is mainly antiinflammatory and fever reduction is just a secondary effect. Motrin is a better choice for pain relief associated with inflammation. Hope this clears things up a tad.

Judy- For water intake with runs I like to take water for anything over 3 miles or if I'll be running for > 30 minutes. I guess everyone is different but from what I understand this is generally recommended to avoid dehydration. I'm sorry your TV has picked up this virusx(

Karen- You have GOT to try Drillmax!!!! Also if your buns are fried with B&G, wait til you try the leg blast premix!! OMG

Gayle- I think the premixes in these new workouts are often better than the original workouts themselves. One of my favorites is the BM2double upperbody which I guess you experienced today? Good that you're giving the legs a rest!

Jess- Personally, I was never happy with the way my legs looked until I took up running. I think you'll get the slimming you want when you get back into it again.

Kristi- great job on the run today- looks like you're in for some great fun in the snow!

Christine :+ :+ :+ :+ Our red nosed cheetah, you are too cute! I struggle with the work ethic issue also when I get sick! You are definitely doing the right thing staying home! Take care :) Your legs should be doing the running..... not your nose!

Barb- So I made you a DM believer }( }( It a great all around functional fitness workout.

Carole- My EXT (if it comesx( ) is by Vision. It's the same brand as my TM which has performed rock solidly for me. It doesn't have alot of fancy options on it. No heart rate monitor for example. But the stride felt wonderful and I know it will be dependable.
Got totally spanked by IMAX3?? It's been a while since I've done that one:eek:

Susan- Glad everyone at your place is healthy:) You are busy today!

Laurie- I've been thinking about doing that KPC/LG circuit for a while now... it's a fun one!

Elaine- How's the PF? Is it alot worse in the morning? You could try those special night splints which keep the foot tendons from tightening up during the night by maintaining a plantar flexion.
Great job on the hill repeats. I've been thinking I'm going to be adding those regularly pretty soon. I've got some great hills around here too!

SunnyD- I'm one of those who uses the "rest day" to do yoga/abs/stretch. I guess that technically doesn't make it a rest day..... oh well :) Good luck on your interview!!!!

I think that about catches me up! Take care everyone

ShellyC

Jes-
Thanks for the hug~~~~~ right backatcha!

I managed to have the kids help me move an old TV to lower level so I could do Drill Max, I'm totally off schedule now.

GTG make dinner for the gang and get Sammy to Hockey; the whole city could be closed but hockey is never cancelled. But I have that clean eating issue of Oxygen to take along while I wait, and of course Suduko is always in my purse.

Boy, the keyboards have been EN FUEGO around here lately!! Anyone have DOMS in the fingers yet? Five and six pages a day--my head’s spinning! :)

Laurie :: yes, these are very, very strange new waters we are navigating! I am still in the getting-to-know you part of the process with a few guys, and it is much like an interview as you said the other day. I’m finding it hard to keep straight who’s who, but I must say, many of them are really interesting guys. I definitely do not know what the protocol is or how to juggle all of them…I am busy enough as it is! *lol* But hey, it’s been an interesting ride so far! I want a soccer player!! Does your guy have a hottie teammmate for me?? :) Can’t wait to hear more about him as things develop. (PS…I thought the Jessica moment was cute!) Glad to hear you are getting results so quickly w/ the renewed attention to clean eating…rock on!

Gayle :: cracked up about wanting to send the boys off in the afternoon…you sound like a terrific mom—doing it all with a great sense of humor!…Yes, something is wrong with you and Wendy for digging that B&G Leg Blast – it’s evil!! *lol* So far, just you & Linda are interested in a second order of shirts…sorry! Maybe as we get new members on board, that’ll change.

Marcia :: what were the angry parent calls for? School starting on time?? Yes, I did get your check last Friday and mailed the shirt Saturday…you should have it soon! You'll be getting lots of good stuff in the mail. :)

Kristi :: glad you & DS were able to get out there and enjoy the snow for at least a little awhile…yes, these frigid temps are too much! Enough already!! As one of my students grumbled today, “If it’s gonna be THIS cold, it oughta be snowing!” (We want a snow day!) Hope DD’s sinus infection clears soon.

Shelly :: I agree – the Leg Blast *is* harder than B&G straight-up. Ha! A CoreMax premix on your REST day, you say?? I envision you as being one of those whirling dervishes of endless energy…could you please pass some my way?? *lol* Have fun with the new ETX!! *does a happy dance for you*

Barb :: I did wind up taking an unplanned rest day, so I’m doubling up today. Did Powerstrike this morning (at 4:30!) and will do MM in a bit. Cracked up about the ultimate OCD test = starting a rotation on a Tuesday… and also how you dinged yourself at the end of one of your posts. I would love it if all of us cheetahs were in close proximity and could hang out/work out together…I think we’d all get into some serious trouble!

Carole :: I agree—avoiding social activities *does* help the diet, doesn’t it?…After I read about some of your workouts, I wonder if you might have some masochistic tendencies?? ;) :) You sure do put a hurtin’ on yourself! Hope you enjoy the fry.

Karen :: *lol* about the pizza and ice cream and shrimp and…now putting your tushie in the freezer! You are too funny!…Re: the eating… I’ll confess, I just feasted on a KFC Bowl…man, are those things good!…Needless to say, I will not be visiting the clean eating thread today. :)

Susan :: Busy day for you!! Which Powerstrike did you have? How is DD today?

Christine :: *lol* about our proposed bar! I love it! The chili sounds tasty – got a good chuckle over you foolin’ the fam. Then I went on to the Miss Piggy theory and about busted a gut! You are too funny…I’m sure you will drop that 10 again in no time. I do have calipers…a digital one called Fat Track II… I’m not sure I ever really got the hang of how to use it properly…I’ve only tried it a few times…and dopey me, I lost the instructions.

Wendy :: Glad you like the shirt!…Hope Joey’s feeling better…I know what you mean – the past two days, I have felt kaput when I come home from work…I will have to force myself to do MM shortly.

Elaine :: I did Powerstrike #4.

Judy :: (((HUGS))) on the loss of your TV.

Sunny :: good news on the interview ~ lots of good luck vibes comin’ your way!

Hey Linda, Colleen, Jess, and anyone else I might've missed. Have a great night!

Cathy :)

OK, change of plan!...I got hung up with some other stuff, and at this point in the night, it is too late for me to squeeze in MM as I don't want to do a premix nor do I want to do the full w/out and wind up wired all night! But it's OK - I'll switch things up with my planned rest day, which would've been Friday and will still get in all the planned workouts for this week. The rotation is sometimes just a blueprint, right? No reason to get the ol' knickers in a snit. :)

LOL @ knickers in a snit, Cathy!!! Too funny!! Yep, sometimes it's good to be flexible. I had to be that way because of the weather this morning! Enjoy your evening! (and no DOMS in my fingers from typing yet! ;-) ) Oh yeah, and we do expect you to join us on the healthy eating thread!! }(

Good Evening Ladies.

I am drinking a cup of green tea while I type this. Once this post is done and my tea cup is empty I am going to sack out on the couch until bed. :p I'm beat! I still have this darned cold hangin' on and I think it's taking it's zapping my energy level.:-(

I did the Leg Blast Premix plus B&G abs at nap time. Joey was not napping well so I couldn't get to the cardio at that point. I decided that I would go to the gym for a short run tonight after dinner but I dis-counted that when I realized how tired I was after I took my shower, etc. So no cardio for me today but if all goes well I will get in a short run after my shift is over tmrw. :) Then I have to come home and do Back and Biceps for the first time! }(

I want to do personals but I just don't have the energy for it. I apologize...I haven't exactly been on top of them lately! Soon things will return to normal though and I'll be back at it!:)

Okay, I really need to go lay down now...

Good Night girls.:)

Hey Wendy! I'm drinking some decaf apple/ cinnamon tea. Yum! I hope you start feeling better. Is Joey feeling better then??

I wnat to do the leg blast premix now that you mentioned it! Might do it tomorrow. }( I've decided to work my legs more/ lighter. Not exactly freestyle, but a change for me anyway!

Don't feel bad, we don't have time to do personals every day! ;-) Get some rest!

Can you tell I've spent too much time here today?? LOL That's what happens when we're trapped inside w/ the snow!! The girls went outside to play for a bit & came in for a warm bath & hot cocoa. We thought the tub was leaking in the utility room, but Greg figured out it was something else. Whew!!

Well, now I'm being paged to play games. The girls worked on their Valentines for a while. I'm glad that we got started on them early, it takes a while to get all of them done!

Have a great night!

I ‘ve got a couple of minutes free to check in. It’s just been one of those crazy busy days. Thankfully they are not all like today.

Shelly, yes, I have one of those splint/boot thingies and have finally gotten to where I keep it on all night long. So the PF feels best in the morning but tends to tighten up during the day after I have been sitting a while, like here at the computer for instance. If I stay on top of it, icing during the day and sometimes wearing the splint while sitting then I get by OK with just some minor discomfort. Judy mentioned stretching the other day but I’m not sure what helps PF. And this is a self diagnosis, BTW!! DH had it and when I described what I’m feeling he said it sounded exactly like how his PF felt. I’m feeling positive about continuing to run with it because he did so for about a year. After he started wearing the night splint he said it just continued to get better until it was completely gone. When I bought my elliptical the dealer sold both Precor and Vision. I was thinking of going with the Vision because it was such a sturdy piece of equipment for the price but the salesman sold me on the Precor’s crossramp.

Carole, I have *never* done IMAX3. Can you believe it? I’ve done 1 and 2 countless times but not 3. And I have no good reason for why not.

Sunny, I’m starting to get the picture! You no longer have your other job and are now busy with PTing. That’s awesome! Congratulations on the smooth switchover, if I’ve got it right that is.

Cathy, I agree. The Cheetahs are chatty for sure. Do you like Powerstrike 4? I’ve got 1-3 but don’t do them very often at all. Actually I rarely use about 90% of my workouts on a regular basis, or an any basis really. I hold on to all of them though because I never know when goals might shift for whatever reason.

Jess, I’m another one who loves, loves, loves the B&G leg blast premix. I’ve got that one planned for Friday. I also love the abs with the weights on that DVD.

Judy, Belated broken TV hugs. I know just how you feel though. I hate it when my schedule gets twisted all around like that.

Christine, I hope you are feeling better. Did you end up going to work today?

Wendy, I hope Joey is feeling better. Ear infections can be so painful for a little one. Bless his heart. Hopefully the antibiotic is knocking it back so that he’s feeling better.

Laurie, I’ve been doing pretty good with clean eating lately too (except for the giant heart shaped frosted sugar cookie I made for my kids yesterday) but I need to cut down on the quantity! A calorie’s a calorie in any form! Congrats on your success!

Karen, I think I missed something. Why do you want to freeze you’re a$$!!!???!! LOL!!

Barb, Did you have a fun day with the kids? What did you all do for entertainment?

Kristi, Did you get the Oxygen clean eating issue? I need to pick that one up too. I was in Walmart the other day but couldn’t find it.

Gayle, What’s next on your running/race agenda? Are you going to give that Marine Corp Marathon a shot this year?

I’ve got to start getting dinner ready. Have a great evening every one!

Howdy Cheetahs!!!!

I WANT A SHIRT TOO!!!  Are ya’ll going to order anymore soon?

Holy shmmoley! I logged in to see what the cheetah gang has been up to lately and pop in a hello! You gals are chatty! It is so good to read that ya’ll are doing so well! I was immediately inspired again while reading the posts. I know I’ve missed lots but I’ll try to stay tuned in more; I miss you guys! I have just been on busy overdrive and had to lay off the computer fun for a while. I’m still trying to get my workouts in and have been working hard to lose the weight I’ve put on. Since Jan 8, I have lost 9 pounds. I also ran the PF Changs half marathon in Arizona with my running friend. I took it REALLY easy – I was shooting for a 12 minute mile pace so I could “test” things out after healing the hip injury and getting back to running. I’m happy that to say that even with 2 potty stops and walking/stretching through water stations that I paced exactly on track, well the help of my fancy new Garmin helped too! It was also the first longer run event I’ve run without using motrin or Tylenol. Thankfully those days are gone. Yahhoo! I am so happy to be back running and I’ve promised DH that I will continue to take it easy and only try to increase my pace AFTER I have lost more of this tonnage (he rolls his eyes..lol). Now I am signed up to run the Nashville ½ marathon the end of April. Well, actually I’m also signed up for the San Diego Rock n Roll marathon in June , the Virginia Beach ½ in September, and the San Jose ½. in October. Yesssireee, my friend and I are attempting to get the “Rock Star” medal at the end of the year from running all of these “musical” events. I have been seeing a really good massage lady on a weekly basis (good rate) and diligently working hard on clean eating to get the extra pounds off me.

Thanks to you all for the dose of inspiration; helps to keep me going! Have a good evening and I’ll be back later to read over posts more carefully!

Thomasina

P.S. – HUGS to the TV State-of-Emergency gals, Jess and Judy! I would email you a TV if I could! There is always the computer to play the DVD’s as a last resort :7

ETA - my name!

Hi Elaine,
You have got to do Imax 3. It is awesome. I made Christine do it on Monday for me, since I still cannot do high impact. Hope your injury heals soon:)

Thomasina, that is great about your half marathon. It is definitley true, these cheetahs are truly an inspirational group of women.

I am off to give kids a bath and then American idol and House.

Nighty Night!

Susan
