Good Morning Cheetahs!!!!

Marcia: Yes, I am pleased the damage was minimal! :) Great getting in your workout!

I have to get ready here quick like for walking. Just getting us started. Take care and have a great day all!

Good morning, cheetahs! :) :) :)

It's a Thursday that's like a Friday for me. Yay!

Gloria...I will miss many in this group, but I don't anticipate I'll be shedding any tears this year. Last year was special. I know how you feel. I'm drawn to the at-risk kids, too. Though there are far fewer in my school, there is one, in particular, this year who I'm very concerned about. Want to be hopeful, but unfortunately, I fear she won't make it...enjoy your walk.

Marcia...Glad your office will be quiet for a bit. Are you still doing Pampered Chef also?

Wendy...thanks for the feedback on SWAT.

There is a half day today for the kids, and then we have to be "checked out." Not sure what time I'll be getting home, but I may just keep it simple and go for a run. Or I may just flop on the couch with a CAB. :7

Hope yours is a great one, everyone!

Good morning Cheetahs!

So, I obviously did end up having plans last night or I would have been here chatting with you wonderful ladies. So sorry about that!

I'm heading out for a run right now as the little knee tweak feels perfect today. There's no planned distance or pace...just gonna let it happen. I would like for it to be around an hour in length though.

Quickly, I had a "funny" thing happen yesterday which may have, at least temporarily, cured me of this crazy sugar/junk addiction I've had for the past couple of months x(. Simply put, I ate a couple of things that I shouldn't have yesterday morning and, coupled with another bad food choice the afternoon before, I got sooooooo sick for about an hour yesterday. My blood sugar crashed *HARD*...shakes, nausea, sweats, the whole kit and kaboodle. Well, once it passed even *thinking* about sugar turned my stomach so bad lol! So, hopefully, I can ride this little episode for awhile and use it to my advantage :).

Enough rambling, more running LOL :D! BBIAB!

Good morning :)

Shelly: How was the work day with real patients?

Marcia: Nice to have ya back. You are a trainer as well?

Wendy: Is SWAT part of the AB program?

Christine: Great run yesterday. Sounds like you really enjoyed your visit to Boston. Did you meet up with your friend?

Carole: How was your run yesterday?

Lorie: Odd about the hip huh? How's it feeling this morning?

Cathy: Enjoy your last day :) Maybe come home do a mini-workout then have a CAB :)

It's raining right now. I'm tempted to venture out as that it is a light drizzle. I'll see how I feel when I drop DS off to work. So it will be a 45minute run--- just steady state or some type of circuit workout.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday. I should make it back unless I get busy with things :)

Refill time :9

Wendi...no need to apologize for having a life! :7 Sorry you got yourself sick on the sweets, but maybe that is what it takes, huh? Enjoy your run.

Kath...Plenty of running around again on the job today, so I'm not worried about it either way. Just rollin' wit it. :7 Love a light drizzle in the (almost) summer. Enjoy your run if you get out there.

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Back from my walk. We were fast and chatty today. :) Have a bit of time before I have to be ready to roll.

Cathy: Yeah, there are some who you just have a feeling about. I was talking to one of the kids that works in Andy's shop. His good friend, whom I had in 7th grade, just got his second MIP. I knew back then he was going to be one in trouble. Enjoy your last day and the CAB!!!! }(

Good morning cheetahpals!! Had a pretty good day yest. It did feel good to be back to my "real" work yest. I did work with a preceptor who unfortunately wasn't a good one. That happens alot I'm afraid. Some nurses just don't want to be bothered. It was like pulling eyeteeth to get her to show me anything or explain things.... just wanted to get her work done fast and chat with her friends. Oh well, I've been around the block and then some and these things don't rattle me much. I just found out things on my own and tried not to bother her too much. She did loosen up to me a tad towards the end. It is a very nice unit with great new equipment.
I have two days off now and will get things personally organized here today and do some shopping for supplies that I missed before.
I plan on a foray into the country tomorrow to look at some houses :7

Kath- Personally I try to avoid doing more then 3 12 hr shifts in a row. I don't have "set" nights when I work, just whenever I'm needed. However I know my schedule for the next 4 weeks and can put in requests for after that so I can plan my life a bit. It was nice to be doing my "real" work yest. I actually enjoy running in a light rain... feels good! Hope it stays that way for ya.

Wendi- Glad that knee issue resolved quickly! Your sugar reaction was interesting... hope you can take advantage of it.... try to recall how your stomach reacted when the temptation comes up again. Have a great run!

Wendy- I like your strategy on concentrating on hill running on the TM for now rather then speed. You definitely are accomplishing alot with that and will make you a very strong and I believe faster runner outside. That SWAT workout sounded like a good one to take on a trip and do while travelling.

Christine- Saw the news story about the Boston rioting last nite and thought of ya! Sounds like a very memorable run for you along the Charles river. There are supposed to be some very nice scenic runs here in Philly and I'll be trying them out for sure! Have a save flight tonight!

Carole- Getting in some VERY impressive weights on that squat rack!!! I bet it's making a difference in your running with those powerful quads now.

Lorie- That episode with the suddent hip pain sounds a tad scary... sure hope it's better now. You sure don't need to be dealing with another injury!

Judy- Yes, I'm one of those strange creatures who actually does prefer working nites. It fits in much better with my lifestyle and I can get alot more things done. My new unit is pretty new...
very nice equipment and the charting is entirely on the computer which Iove!!

Jackie- As I said to Judy I do prefer nites... odd since when I'm off I wake up quite early and go to bed early too. Oh well... I am the crazy cheetah!! Hope you are resting that shoulder today!
Hey, do you have a squat rack in that fancy new workout room?

Gloria- Now that's a great job for summer.. working 3 hrs a day!! I like that. I'm working general med-surg ICU now. I've worked all of the different kinds of adult ICU. Honestly can't say I like one more then the other... what I really like is variety... suits my ADD personality! I was wondering what happened with that side pain.. glad it resolved! What a relief to you that your car repair wasn't much at all (yay)

Cathy- Sounded like the commute from hell yest!! My GPS is like gold to me right now!! Philly drivers, like most in big cities aren't too patient with drivers who are lost!! Official LAST day???
wooohooooo.... enjoy that CAB... you've earned it!!

Marsha- so now you teach Turbokick as well?? Sounds like fun!!

Time to get movin here. I'm going to revisit the CTX series for a bit. Will do step N intervals and all step with the weight portions also today. May go to the fitness room later and go for round on the cycles.

Good morning, Cheetahs - This morning I did a Turbo Kick warm up and then went for a 2 mile run. Tonight I will do lower body and a nice long walk before heading to work (bartending at our bar and grill).

Cathy - Yes, I still sell Tastefully Simple (not PC ;-) ), but I don't do as many home partys - I just don't have time with all the other jobs and things I'm doing. Enjoy your last day and "checking out". :)

Wendi - I hope you are feeling better and it was just a quick sickness. My DH has been battling a nasty cold for about a week now and it's really got him down.

Kath- Nope, I'm not a trainer, but I'd love to be - just haven't made that plunge yet.

ShellyC - Yep, I will soon start teaching Turbo Kick classes. I'm learning and perfectly all the moves now and will have a few pilot classes with some of my very dedicated ladies from my step classes to ease everyone into it.

I hope everyone has a super day! I'll be back later, gotta get ready for work.

Marcia.

Howdy!

Okay, so I lied :p and didn't end up running. As much as I wanted to take full advantage of the crisp, beautiful morning I couldn't. On my last run I guess I had my laces a little too snug across the top of my big toe area and it caused a bit of a sore spot...not rubbing, more like a pressure point. I thought it was gone, laced up the sneaks (a little looser), thought it felt good, took one step and went YEOUCH!!! So I changed into my cross trainers and banged out Guantlet instead :7! I sooooo *heart* that workout!!!! I'll give the run another go tomorrow morning.

Gloria - Glad you had a nice walk this morning!

Cathy - Doin' the happy dance for your last day of school! You know you'll want to go for a run today, girl! It's going to be a gorgeous day!

Kath - Oh, I'm with Cathy...I just love those drizzly runs in the summer! Enjoy whatever workout you decide on!

Shelly - Sounds like you've found a good place to work! Glad to hear that you finally got to see patients instead of being bored silly sitting at the computer. I don't think I could ever imagine seeing you sit still that long LOL! Good luck on the house hunting tomorrow! That's exactly my plan when it comes to the sweets. When I pulled the agave out this morning for my coffee even *that* made me a little queasy :D lol.

Dallas - If you're lurking I want you to know that you and your family are in my prayers...{{{HUGS}}}!

Marcia - Sorry DH has been sick...I hope he's able to kick that bug soon! How great that you're going to start teaching some classes! I like you workout plan for today...enjoy!

Ack, I've really got to get my butt out the door. I hope to check back before bowling tonight. Have a terrrrrrrific day ladies!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...so what kind of t-shirt were you wearing yesterday? Sorry about the detour on your way home yesterday. I can see how frustrating that would be in a part of the city you don't know well, and what was up with the Garmin?? Serenity now for sure...:)...I loved just doing a run yesterday with no weight work...Enjoy your run today...:)

Gloria...I always say my DH is like "Pigpen" from Charlie Brown as the stuff seems to just float around him and lands wherever he sits...:D..Good idea to just walk yesterday after the 5 miler and sore quads. So happy to hear your side pain has improved! Enjoy your walk today.

Wendi...Interesting about the sugar incident! Good job with the Gauntlet.

Kath...I felt really good on the run yesterday and went 5 miles instead of my normal 4...:D..Enjoy your run or circuit workout.

Shelly...Sorry about the preceptor being a pain. I can see how that would happen many times. I know you could show her a thing or two!! Glad you kept your composure...(you are strong that way!)...Good luck house hunting tomorrow. My runs are for sure feeling stronger so the heavy weights must be helping...:)..Enjoy your CTX and cycle workout.

Lorie...sorry about the unexpected hip pain. It is weird as sometimes in kickboxing I seem to tweak mine a bit (but don't hear anything) and it hurts for awhile but is soon gone.

Christine...sounds like a nice "smart" run yesterday! Hope you get to see the Parade today. Have a safe flight home.

Judy..nice HIIT and NROL workout yesterday.

Jackie...P90X was actually the 1st rotation I ever did! And I loved the 13 week schedule. The good thing is it has been awhile since I did it so the impending 90 days for P90X+ sounds doable...:D..Good job with Total Body and the added legwork. Sorry about the shoulder pain, is it severe?

Today will be Kenpo+ and legwork, might even add on some abs.

Have a great day...:)

Good Morning Girls!

Popping in before heading out to the gym and the food store.

Cathy: Personally I like the idea of the couch and the CAB but I would NEVER try and deter you from a work out. I am, after all, the TFH!;) }(

Wendi: OMG sorry you felt so awful. If that's how you have to do it to get away from the sugar then I say it's not worth it! Why not buy your fave sugary treat and just eat a tiny bit every day to keep those cravings under control?

Kath: Nope, SWAT has nothin' to do with A/B. I'm on a rest week from A/B so doing different stuff right now. Enjoy whatever work out you choose!

Shelly: Sorry you were not working with a more helpful sort y'day. Glad you don't let it get to you though. Yeah, I tend to avoid hill training so perhaps this TM will become a blessing in disguise after all as it will FORCE me to change my focus for a while. Enjoy CTX!:)

Marcia: Glad you enjoyed your run. Have a great day!

Carole: Enjoy Kenpo+ today!!!

Okay, time for me to skeedaddle. Talk to you ladies later!

Ta Ta~:)

good morning lovely ladies!!!

christine-your run sounds absolutely lovely!!! i am glad you are enjoying yourself!

judy-bad me...i never got to nrolw yesterday. i started working on that report i have to write and worked on it from about 0900-1430 and am still not done!!! i didn't feel like doing much of anything after and ended up running some errands and being lazy the rest of the day. i am lacking motivation today, but will find some to do nrolw and, hopefully, some cardio.

jackie-yeah, i don't have any idea what i did to my hip! it's feeling better today and i am going to tackle a workout. i am determined!!!

gloria-it is weird to not know what you did and be in pain! i guess it's a function of getting older? oh no! is 37 really old?! i certainly don't feel it!

wt-like i said to gloria, i hope the "hip wierdness" isn't just me getting old! i'm not ready to have old-age aches and pains!!! *singing, "i don't wanna grow up...i'm a toy-r-us kid!* glad you made it through your horrid commute. serenity now... btw, i vote for the couch and cab!

wendi-i had a bad night with candy last night. unfortunately, i didn't get the side effects that you did. i wish i would as i am thinking i need a "sugar intervention." i was doing REALLY well until ttom, and i have yet to get back on track. last night was cherry twizzler bites and peanut butter m&m's...ugh!

kath-we'll see about the hip. i am going to do SOMETHING today and see how it feels.

shelly-i agree...i definitely don't deserve to have another injury when i've been trying to be kinder and gentler to my body!!! glad you are on a nice unit and enjoying work. too bad about the preceptor. i can give her a kick in the arse if you'd like! ;)

marcia-sounds like you have a busy day and night today!

carole-yeah, i think i just sat funny and something happened. i am going to power through with a workout soon.

wendy-how was the gym?

so, as i said, i am going to reach deep and find some motivation and get a workout in. i am hoping to do some cardio as well as nrolw. hopefully, my hip will behave. i don't think nrolw will bother it, but we'll see how the cardio feels. i have to wait until after 1000 because i am trying to get coldplat tix on presale and it starts at 1000. hopefully, i'll get them b/c bf really wants to go.

talk to you all later!

Hi Friends-

We are chattey early today!

Lorie- no worries about yesterday re sugar and no workout. Today is another day. Besides, you did accomplish the necessary writing! i waswith you on the sweets. Forsome reason, i had to have doves dark chocolate yum... guilt.

Kath- did you get your run in or something else?

Carole- Nice going on feeling good for 5 miles yesterday. Your current workouts are agreeing with you!

Marcia- I hope you enjoy the new classes you are teaching :) It is ncie to se you here again :)

Shelly- I hopeyou do not ge too many consecutive 12 hour shifts.

Wendi- sorry about the sugar episode! But don't apologize about the not checking in part! I have not done the gauntlet in ages!

Today was iTread #2 40 minutes. It felt good. There will be no golf for the rest of the week. The men have their big invitational tournament at our course. I need a break form it anyway, I was getting into bad swing habits!

My neighbor , who has a small casual photography business, came over yesterday to talk to DD and I abou her senior pictures. She is going to do them in our yard. How easy is that?

woo-hoo! workout done! i did nrolw/b and sjp step and hi/lo premix. the hip hurt a little towarads the end of the hi/lo but not too badly. i am glad to be d.o.n.e.!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Gloria - Glad the side is doing much better. Save those $$$. That's great that your car only needed a radiator cap. I've had to spend more than I anticipated on my car this year. About a month ago, the airbag light wouldn't go off. Just to get a diagnosis is $65 at the dealer. Then you have to pay for the repair and of course, they can't repair it the same day as the diagnosis because they don't have the part. x( Just makes you want to throw up both hands. x(

Wendy - Thanks for the SWAT review. Glad you like it. Is it only one workout? I was hoping it was a good 30 minute weight workout. Guess it will work when I'm short on time.

Cathy - I'm glad to hear you don't think an 8th grade graduation is needed. That would have prolonged the ceremony anyway. They did have them a few years back. I enjoyed going to the awards ceremony and being out in less than an hour. Sorry for the traffic detour and the Garmin not helping out. I've been on the expressway when there's an accident and been stuck because there's no way to get off. Guess that's why it's always recommended to have your tank full just in case. Yay for your Friday today!!

Marcia - Enjoy being bossless for a couple of weeks. Nice workout today. What would you compare Turbo Kicks to?

Wendi - Sorry you were sick yesterday but hope it does the trick for you with sugar. OUCH on the soreness! Glad you found a good substitute. Enjoy bowling tonight.

Kath - Did you get a run in? Hope we get some of that rain tomorrow.

Shelly - Glad you had a good day at work. I guess every job has a person like your no help nurse. You showed her though. Good luck with the house hunt. Hey, nites just work better for some people. I don't have a squat rack in my workout room - not yet anyway. The next thing I want to get is a boxing bag.

Carole - Funny about DH being like Pigpen. LOL!! Shoulder pain is not severe. It's more like a little ache from overuse and I can feel it in my neck. It feels ok today. Will see how it feels in the morning. May need to modify Upper Body+ tomorrow. Enjoy Kenpo+ and legwork.

Lorie - Glad that hip is better and you were able to get that workout in. It was a good one!

Judy - Good job with iTread #2. Nice that you don't have to go too far to get DD pics made.

The rotation called for Yoga X today. I did iTread #29 iTri Reverse instead. Really like this one. Finished up with Cool It Off Express.

Need to get back to work. Enjoy your day!

Jackie

Hi Ya Peeps!:D

I had a pretty encouraging run on the TM this morning. I was donning my brand new kicks so perhaps that had something to do with it. I had asked Shelly if she thought that could be part of my problem while we were at the race over the weekend. She wasn't sure but it's as good a guess as any, right? So anyway, I did about 40 minutes CC vol 5. I did the first 2 challenges and ended with the steady state after the 2nd challenge. I was able to push my speed to 6.4-6.5. I felt pretty darned comfortable at 6.0 and was only a bit off kilter when I got up higher then that. I am hoping this is the turn around point for me. I'd like to get another run in over the next couple of days and just do a steady state at 6.0 and see if I can run comfortably for about 3 miles. If I can do that then I'll really feel better about it. :) I still miss my 7.0-7.5 sprinting days but I figure that will come back eventually as well, right?

So anyway I ended up logging about 3.4 miles in about 40 minutes. I'm not sure exactly as I accidently reset the TM mid-work out. I HATE when that happens!x( So my mileage is a bit on the low side but CC is an interval work out and I walked during the recoveries which always brings the mileage down so I don't feel bad about it. Had I been able to do my normal sprinting speed in the 2nd challenge I am sure I would have come closer to the 4 mile mark. Oh well.

Lorie: So didja get the tickets!?

Judy: Good job with ITread this morning. I am sure your DD's pics will be lovely!

Jackie: SWAT also had a full body weight work out called Ultimate Body Definition. I think I will be trying that one tmrw. I'll let you know what I think of it!:) They are also coming out with a Core work out this year I think.

Okay, time to get the little guy up to bed. BBL!

Afternoon Girls :)

I managed to get a short run in. It started raining harder so I cut it short. But I came home and jumped on the upright and did a Rolling hills program for 45mins. I was sweating like crazy }( }(

Judy: Great location for photos. How is your son doing? Is he interested in the NHL draft at all? One kid ,that is in the top 5, my DD dated. Go figure :) He is a super great kid too. Always nice to see a good kid do well :)

Lorie: I bet coldplay would be a great concert. I'm hoping to head to a few this summer. Course my summer is going to fly by I just know it. Better start looking for some huh? I may hit Ottawa for a Jazz fest they have every year. Fergie is playing and tragically hip, to name a few I may be tempted to buy tickets to.

Wendy: That's great your runs are coming back on the TM.

Carole: You always put together a good workout. Do you follow a rotation or do you get up and decide what you want to do that day?

I have to laugh at all the abbreviations we use for workouts. It's almost like a hidden language similiar to typing online :) NROLFW AB SWAT PUB PLB --the list goes on and on :)

OH did you see the report on the today show about the mom of the sextuplets? She ran a marathon. She not only lives a marathon life but was able to train for one. How's that for inspiration :)

BBL maybe :)

Kath: Sounds like you had a great work out despite the rain. Rolling hills sounds tough. Good job! The mother of 6 who ran a maratathon....she obviously has a tremendous support system going on. Her husband must be an angel for one thing! Good for her! And to have the ENERGY and DRIVE to want to train and run a full mary whilst caring for 6 children is a challenge in itself! I give her TONS of credit!

Hola, cheetahs!

**cues up the Soup Dragons and sings "I'm free to do what I want any ol' tii-i-me!"**

Closing took a little longer since we had a nice sendoff for our guidance counselor, who is moving on to serve as principal at one of the elem schools. So, I was wrong, I did shed a tear or two...BUT raced home to the Germany/Portugal game, which was 15 minutes in progress. Am JAZZED about Germany's victory, which puts my boys in the semifinals.

(And yes, I am enjoying that CAB as I type.) OK, I'll stop the fussball talk b/c I'm sure nobody cares. :p :7 It's cool.

Gloria...what is an MIP? My brain's fogged. :)

Shelly...hey, that kinda sucks that your colleague wasn't too helpful...Love how nothin' rattles our Shelly, though...*lol* about the city drivers. No, patient is not a word that would fit.

Marcia...oh! Pardon me! :7 Why did I think it was Pampered Chef? That's great that you'll be starting Turbo Kick soon.

Wendi...ack! That doesn't sound like fun. Hope that tenderness goes away. The weather IS ideal for a run, and I want to--but I think the CL is winning out here. :7

Carole...I think maybe it was all the tree cover that threw off the GPS for a bit. Thankfully it did kick in, but I did have to take a small tour of So. Jersey first. *lol*

Wendy...*lol* Would it be wrong to step on the EXT with a CAB in hand? :7...Perhaps the psychological high of the new kicks helped you override the TM thing. Great to hear! You know what that means, right? You just have to keep buying new gear! :) :) :)

WT...had to laugh at you singing the ol' Toys-R-Us jingle. I know I'm gettin' old when I make tons of TV or movie references that my kids are totally clueless about. Actually, what's REALLY depressing is when my CO-TEACHER is too young to get the joke. *lol* Oh well. I keep myself amused...did you get the Coldplay tix? Saw them a few years ago. Good show.

Jackie...seems my principal is anti-graduation, too. He took a survey among the kids today and may be making the push to change things. Good move in these tight budget times, IMO. Hope that shoulder/neck pain dissipates.
