Mornin,’ cheetahs & happy Thursday :)

I dropped by the forums yesterday morning but thought I’d let someone else start the thread, and then I just never got back around to posting. Last night, I did B&B and ARX. Today I’m shooting for Yoga Burn. Not sure how that’s gonna play out as I have my LASIK consultation after school and then I am tentatively meeting some friends for drinks later on, so the time factor could be an issue. I have been told the consultation could last up to two hours. So, I’ll have to play by ear.

Now, time for personals!

Marcia :: I know what you mean ~ we have returned to nasty weather here, too, after a springtime teaser. Hope you slept well & the cramps are gone.

Jess :: sorry to hear the AT’s acting up…frustrating!…And if it’s hurting w/ regular activity, then you’ve been wise to handle it with kid gloves. At least you’ll have the X to look forward to—guaranteed it’s gonna take your fitness to a whole new level!!

Wendy :: congrats on the barbell purchase and on being able to do an unassisted pullup!! WTG! I meant to ask you, how heavy are you lifting – say, for B&B?…I will let you know about a Sunday GTG after today’s LASIK appointment…if I’ll be having that done later this month, I need to plan around it.

Gayle :: glad you’ve had a fun week with all the kids! Do they have off the week *after* Easter, too?

Karen :: good move listening to your body.

Sunny :: which workout did you wind up doing? I haven’t done either of those in ages.

Carole :: thanks for the info on BBC L&B – I really can’t wait to try it!

Jackie :: *lol* thanks! What was the name of the band company again?

Emily :: I like your animated yoga girl. Good job on the 40 minute TM run. (I struggle with anything beyond 30 minutes on that thing!)

Shelly :: if you guys are flying in at the same time, I’ll need to borrow a car *lol* unless, that is, you all pack light. (I have a Civic.) It’ll work out, I’m sure.

Linda :: So glad you’re doing an X rotation!! Good job making up for Plyo. If you can stick to it, I think it’ll be a really great change for your body. I cannot believe what it’s doing for me.

Christine :: another beautiful pup! What’s the word on Moose or Taycin? If you were to take Bobby, when would you be bringing him home?

OK, gotta down a bowl of Raisin Bran & get ready here. Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning, Cheetahs

Cathy - Good luck with your consultation, I know quite a few people that have had the laser surgery and so glad they did. Good luck. Meeting and drinks with friends - sounds great, have fun!!

I'm so tired this morning, I really kicked their butt last night in circuits - whew.....I just toast this AM. The rotation for my friend is coming along fine, I explained the first couple of weeks to her and she was so excited already and asked "what am I going to do without you this summer?" I told her I was a phone call away and usually in town a lot so I could help anyway she needed it. I have a feeling I will be doing a few more rotations to get her through the summer.

Tonight I have my all step class. So, I need to plan for that a little bit. I NEED some more coffee - and then I'll be back.

Marcia :*

Hey Cheetah-Babes!

Cathy, Okay-figure out your scheduleand we'll go from there re a GTG! Thanks re the chin ups! I was sooo excited! I felt like a little kid at Christmas time! LOL I just looked at my X stuff and in Shoulders and Arms I lifted 12 and 15 pound DB's the last time I did it for the bicep work. My Back and Biceps weight is lighter because for me it's a much tougher work out so it's mostly 10 and 12 pound DB's. I went heavier in the beginning until I realized it made the stripset curls IMPOSSIBLE so I lightened up in order to complete them. For those I topped out at 12 pound DB's the last time I did it. I am not really strong but for me, my strength has increased a great deal since starting the X! Gives ya an idea of how wimpy I was in the beginning!:p :7

Marcia, Glad your class went well last night. Good luck with tonight's class as well. I am glad the rotation you created went over well. If she wants you make more, you need to start chargin' her!;)

I have yoga on tap for tonight. I was going to go to Spin class this morning but my lower body is SCREAMING after L&B y'day so I'm thinking of nixxing it and going for a run instead. I am also flirting with staying home and stepping!;) My back is not hurting me and I thought it would be....ah well....who can figure it out, right!? LOL

BBL!:+

Good morning cheetahs! I'm at work now but will have 3 nights off after this:7 and I'm starting it off right with a cheetahfix:7

Cathy- That's great that you are going ahead with the Lasik procedure,
at least getting the initial consult! I'm arriving at 4:30 pm on Thursday the 9th and Carole is coming in at 5:30pm. Don't know about Susan yet. Don't worry about fitting into your Civic. We're all lithe cheetahs and we'll squeeze in:) That is so sweet you are willing to provide a lift!!

Marcia- You're friend is lucky to have you! You really should seriously consider getting a PT certification!

Karen- Sounds like you have a very busy competetive summer planned!
I think incorporating circuit workouts that emphasize the lower body would be a good choice for you. Kickboxing would also be helpful along with spinning. I'll bet Carole can come up with some really good specific suggestions.

Wendy- aka the chin up queen!!! wooohoooo:7 :7 Unassisted chin ups.... WTG you buff babe! Sticking with the X has really paid off!

Christine- OMG I don't know how you can choose! Each of the puppy pics I've seen are just so darn adorable!! Hope you hear about your new job soon!

Today will be a nice long interval run for me today.... about 6 miles. Later it'll be a 45 minute or so spin on the stationary bike.

Later y'all!

ShellyC

Good morning to everybody!

Things are back to somewhat normal today, as Dfiance’s kids returned to their mom’s house yesterday afternoon. It’s almost quiet around here now. lol

Wendy-Unassisted pull ups! Proof that time and dedication pay off! CONGRATS!

Christine-I’m really enjoying the dog pics you keep sharing. I can’t wait to here/see which you are lucky enough to bring home.

Jess-I browsed your pics last night. I love the pic of your girls called “green girls”. I’m the middle of 3 girls and looking at your pics really brought back a lot of memories growing up with my sisters! How special their bond will be!!!!!!

Karen-sounds like your body is telling you something….good for you for listening to it! Take care of yourself! As for your question yesterday, I’m almost afraid to answer that. Lol Seriously, I’m not sure what would be best, I honestly don’t. Obviously, running is the main focus, right? How many partners will you have in the 50 mile tandem???

Carole-I’m curious how the iStretch is too!

Jackie-10 unassisted pull ups. YOU GO, girl! LOL. I may just have to hit the power tower this weekend and see how many, if any at all, I can do these days. Lol As for the kids….my one DS is 9, other DS is 6, Dfiance’s DD is 12 and his DS is 9. They all get along really really well, so having them over works out really well all around (most of the time, lol).

Shelly-how did HCE go for you??? I just got rid of that DVD a few weeks ago and I KNEW it was going to show up on a rotation once I did! LOL

Marcia-maybe this summer, instead of waiting each month for Cathe's rotation, I'll be looking forward to YOURS! LOL

Linda-here’s to a FULL 90 day rotation of XXXXXXX!

Well, the excitement for my half marathon on 04/29 is really kicking into high gear. Runner’s World is pulling out all the stops and is really treating us runners to some awesome race weekend events. Including discussions and seminars from numerous people, runners, docs, chiro adjustments before/after the race, etc. I’m really getting excited. I’ve decided I’m going to join a pace team for the first time. Now it’s just figuring out which one I want to join. Lol They offer quite a few, but the ones in my neck of the woods of finishing times are either 1:40, 1:45 or 1:50. I finished last year (chip time) at 1:51. I’m seriously considering the 1:45. I know we’re only talking a matter of a few minutes, and I don’t want to push myself. But I really want to challenge ME and see how well I can perform. ANYWAY…talk about getting caught up with the numbers! LOL

This morning’s workout was speed work. 9 miles, with half mile intervals/quarter mile recoveries. Followed by some LONG stretches. Hammies are a bit tight.

OK....gotta get the day rolling. Kids are off of school right on thru Monday. I love it, though. I'm looking forward to summer with them again!

Gayle

I'm feeling a little "off" today girls. I don't know if I am getting sick, if I am just tired or maybe it's just the DOMS affecting me...

Now I am wondering if I should skip cardio all together today and just do ARX and yoga or go for an easy cardio option so I can still get it in.

What do you think ladies?

ETA: Actually, I think it's just being plain ol' exhausted from the X rotation! I have decided (all on my own!LOL) to skip cardio today...I think I'll survive!

Hey, Wendy. I say take it easy and go with yoga. Then if you're feeling ok....add on ARX. My 2 pennies. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!

Gayle

Thanks Gayle! That is exactly what I intend to do!:)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...so you are planning on the Lasik surgery? I always liked P90X B&B! Thanks so much for offering to pick us up at the Airport. I don't think it'll be tough in your Civic...I hope Susan will be able to get ther around the same time too...When do you get the BBC's...

Marcia...sounds like a killer circuit last night.

Wendy...the reverse grip chin up is the only one I can do unassisted, I use to do 3 sets of 3 reps. WTG on completing them!!! I ran out of time for the iStretch, but you do get a PDF file with pictures for the moves. Sounds like L&B did the job yesterday! I agree with Gayle and go with Yoga...:)

Shelly...I have not tried any of those HCE workouts in a while. Sounds like a good workout for you yesterday. Thanks so much for getting the reservations all changed...you are a sweetie...Wow..I bet you are looking forward to 3 days off...enjoy your 6 mile interval run.

Gayle...I will have to give you an iStretch review another day as I didn't get to it yesterday. Sounds like your half activities will be great fun. A pace team might be a good way to go. WTG with 9 miles!

Christine..another adorable puppy pic!! It would be so hard for me to choose..:)...Good workout yesterday with PP. Glad you found an awesome instructor.

Jackie...I have always liked mixing up workouts. But when I got my 5 disc DVD changer it got alot more fun. Glad you are trying it too. Good workout yesterday...

Emily...a 40 min run is a good one. I checked out the meez.com site...cute..:)

Linda...good job on doing PlyoX! I like to do it from time to time as it is fun! Good luck with the 90 day rotation. I bet you can do it...:)

Karen...Hard question, lets see if I can help. What exactly is a 50 mile tandem time trial? How long are your upcoming trail runs? To run really well on trails you do need to do trail runs, nothing else really prepares you. For a half it would be good to get in double the distance of the race in weekly miles which would be 26.2 miles a week. Spinning is good crosstraining. Any of the Imaxes will help your legs for races. For what you have planned you might have to focus on cardio for awhile.

I am doing B&G standing, BBC C&A (if I have time) and at least 30 min on the EXT.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning Cheetah's!

Cathy - Good luck with the consultation! I hope it all works out really well for you! I will give P90X my best shot! I have you guys as inspiration for getting results! :7

Marcia - I am glad your friend is so enthused about her rotation and program! Sounds like you did a killer class last night!

Wendy - I agree with Gayle's suggestion! I think that is what I would do, too!

Gayle - That is so exciting about your race coming up! You are doing a great job!

This morning I did P90X L&B and Gay Gasper's new CIA workout. It was a lot of fun!

Hi to everyone! Hope everyone is having great day!

Linda

Hi Carole! Guess we were posting at the same time again! Sounds like you have a great workout planned! Hope you enjoy it!

I ordered a new treadmill from Dick's last week. I ordered a Sole F85. My oldest daughter is going to take my old one and she is coming tonight to pick it up. I have no idea how long it is going to take for me to get my new one....so I am a tad bit nervous! I hate the thoughts of being without one for "who knows how long"!

Bye again!

Linda

Christine - Bobby is adorable! He has such intelligent eyes! They are all 3 beautiful puppies! What a decision! I am excited for you:7 !!

Morning,

Cathy, hopefully you get in and out of the Lasik consulation quickly. Enjoy your time out tonight and I hope you get your workout in.

Marcia, if you are wiped your class has got to be about dead. Nice job. have fun with your step tonight.

Wendy, have fun with yoga and take care of yourself.

ShellyC, thanks for in info. I'll try more circuits. So many workouts, so little time.

Gayle, its just my DH and me against the clock. That's really neat you are getting so excited about the 1/2 marathon. I'll bet you beat last years time. Great workout this morning. 1/2 mile interval would kill me.

Carol, have fun with B&G. I still love that workout. My DH and I go as fas as we can for 50 miles against the clodk basically. The other tandem teams do the same. Top time wins. Last year we came in third, but there is a couple DH really wants to beat bad. He races Mt. Bikes so he is already in shape by the time the race comes and I would like to be in better biking shape to help the speed more. The trai races I plan on doing are only 5K, maybe one 10K thrown in to see how I'd do. How far in advance do I have to start running double miles before the 1/2? Thanks

Linda, glad you liked Gays workout. I have that one waiting to try.

Have a nice day. Hi to all that follow.

Good morning everyone!

Emily - 40 minutes on the tm is no easy task sometimes. Don't think you're slacking at all.

Shelly - I hate that stiff feeling. I sit at a desk all day and have to get up and move around every hour or so. Always nice when the off days roll around. How was your workout? I did the Leg Press Premix before the run as my warm up. Worked well. Don't think I could have done it after the run.

Linda - I can do the pull ups as long as I'm fresh. It's when I'm all beat up by Cathe that I can only muster a few. Good job with the X. Yay for the new tm!! Hope it doesn't take too long.

Jess - What is Mr. YP? Glad you had a nice relaxing day? Had to pull out my coat this morning.

Wendy - WTG on the unassisted chin ups!!!!! Very impressive to me. I think you will survive today without the cardio too. The yoga sounds like the way to go.

Christine - Bobby is so cute. Keeping my fingers crossed for the job!

Cathy - Good luck with appointment today. The company for the bands is Power Systems. Here's the link: http://www.power-systems.com/nav/closeup.aspx?c=16&g=1741&Versa-Loops™ I ordered the blue.

Marcia - Glad your friend is excited about her rotation.

Gayle - Can you handle the quiet? LOL!! It's nice that you enjoy having them around. Sounds like you will have a nice blended family. Your half does sound exciting. Know you're going to have fun. 1:45 would be a good challenge. Great job on the 9 miles!

Carole - A 5 disc changer would be the way to go. Don't put ideas into my head. See you have another good one planned. Enjoy.

I did an easy 2 mile run. I used iTread #1 20 minutes but I kept the speed at the very low end or lower for joggers. Felt good. I did GS Legs Timesaver #1 and Baron Baptiste Core Yoga.

Hello to everyone else.

Enjoy your Thursay ladies!!

Jackie

Karen - Wow! That bike race sounds fun and exciting! 50 miles is a looonnng way! :)

Linda

Jackie - Good workout! And you were a good girl and did your yoga! I need to do it and I know I love doing it....but I just keep putting it on the back burner!

Linda

Mr. YP stands for Mr. YummyPants, Bryan Kest. I can't remember who started calling him that here, but it fits him!! Yummy! :p Wendy sent me his Power Yoga & I really enjoyed it! I have that Baron Baptiste one (I like the core yoga too).

Great job w/ the pullups! I can do sets of them from a bent arm, but not all the way from the ground yet. I'm hoping the *X* will help me to do a FULL one!!

G'morning Cheetahs! I just finished LIC Cardio blast premix. It was a good fun workout & didn't bother my achilles so that's even better!! Then I stretched really well. I stretched well last night too, it just feels so tight & tender. I've been massaging it a lot & it just kills me!! I hope it's helping!

We're off to run errands. Going to Target to look for Easter dresses & other goodies for the girls. Wish me luck not spending $100!! :7

I think I'll do GS C & T later. Or I might do the timesavers of both C & T & BSB. We'll be heading to my Mom's tomorrow so I want to get in a good weights workout since we'll be gone for the weekend! (and her heaviest weights are the 8lbers that I bought her! ;-) )

My P90X should be here any day, I'm so excited!! I hope it gets here so we can start on Monday or Tuesday!! ;-)

Good morning ladies,
I am BACK!!! We got home from Monterey yesterday with my sister and her family. It was so nice and warm there. We had such a great time, except for the fact that I ate WAY too much clam chowder and sour dough bread}(

My back has been almost perfect for about 3 days now and I have even been adding a 2 mile run after my 45minutes on the elliptical. My last adjustment I got on Monday really shifted something. I felt like a new woman walking out of the office. I am going to contine with the chiro and hopefully this will do the trick.

I have no time for personals right now because I have to take the kids to school and then work in the classroom. I MISSED you guys! I will be back later today.

Cheers!

Susan
