Good morning, cheetahs :)

I have to confess...I did not do Plyo & Fluidity last night... I just had no gas to do it. :( Ever since my dosage was upped at the beginning of the month, I find I'm really struggling with my energy level. I'm absolutely certain this feeling is connected to the meds, and it's extremely frustrating! So, I think what I'm gonna have to do is adjust my normal routine and work out either in the AM (when I can) OR immediately after school. I will squeeze in Plyo at some point this week, but for today, it will be B&B this morning and cardio + ARX this afternoon *as soon as I get home.*

I don't have posts to catch up with from last night, so HI to all and (((HUGS))) to Christine, Judy, and Kristi.

-Cathy

Good morning cheetahs,

cathy- you may want to speak to your dr. re: your concern with the meds. maybe they can try something else that could work better for you. have fun with B & B- i have DOMS in my back from that one today!

today's workout is a run! seems like i haven't done much running lately.

Hello to all the cheetahs:)

Back again to say Back & Bi is done - I like that one! Now I'm enjoying a quick protein shake before I hop in the shower.

Sunny :: enjoy your run! I think that's what I'm gonna, too, for my afternoon cardio. I think the cross-training this winter has been good for me, but I've missed my running... Yeah, I will mention it to my doc when I see him next Friday, but I don't think there's much that can be done. I need to finish this cycle, which will be another 4 months. So, I think I just have to find a way to suck it up somehow.

Talk with you all later!
Cathy

Oh my gosh, I can't wake up. I actually slept good - must've been the great workouts I took in yesterday: 30 minute power walk at lunch, 1 hour power walk after work; 45 minutes of my *new* circuit class, which went over VERY well.....they want to incorporate that with step at least once a week! We did work hard and I was cooked last night big time and still am this morning :7

I have Shoulders and Arms today with ARX. I'm hoping to get the energy to do it before DS and I head off to the State Basketball Tourney - GO BULLDOGS!

I hope everyone has fantastic day, I think I'm going to grab another coffee a blanket and curl up outside in the nice fresh air we are finally getting - I think it's in the high 40's this morning already.

Take care,
Marcia

Good Morning Cheetahs!:)

Cathy, I will let you know about saturday. I really want to go so I am not going to cancel it unless I feel pretty [email protected]ss you don't want to be exposed to the germies! It's up to you! I have a cold-nothing more. Sorry about the troubles you are having with your meds. I hope something can be done for you.

Sunny, Enjoy your run today!

Marcia, So are you still loving the X? :+ What a nice idea to have coffee outside on a slightly cool morning! I can't wait until we move and get a patio set. I'd love to be able to do that but I have no where to hang out right now! :-( Would definatley have to get the lap top fixed though as I'd want to bring Cathe with me!;)

Well, I have a cold but am still taking Airborne hoping to shorten the duration. I have no clue if the Airborne did anything for me or not but I guess it's possible this could have been MORE then a cold had I not been taking it.

I am considering a spin class this morning. I'm not truly looking forward to it but I need to take a class this week. If I go I will be taking it easy, that's for sure! I could take kickbox instead but that class gets uber crowded on the weekdays and I'd spend the hour paranoid of getting kicked or kicking someone else! :7

Last night right before I went to bed I saw lights outside my window. A guy got pulled over in front of my house and ended up being arrested for DUI! His car had a busted windshield! I have no idea what happened but I saw him go through the sobriety test, get handcuffed and taken away....This is why I want to get out of this town. Too many times there have been cops on my road for one reason or another. x(

Okay...I'm done babbling! BBL!:)

Wendy - I hope you get over your cold soon, sometimes those colds are so hard to get rid of - take care of yourself. ;-)

Yes, I'm absoltuley lovin' the X. I think it's the fact we write things down and I challenge myself all the time to do better than before and there's no pressure to 'keep up' with them, my own pace my own reps, etc. LOVE IT!! (I think I've said that before ;-) ;-) )

We are going away to my DH's aunts' 80th birthday party this weekend in Wisconsin. They have 15 kids so it'll be a wild time, but really nice to get away. The family is great and like to have a good time ;-) so we'll all get along just great!

HELLO to all that follow.....

Marcia.

Good morning. I only have a quick minute to say GOOD MORNING! Headed to Kindergarten this morning!

I was up and got in a great 8 mile tempo run. I used a 'ladder' tempo run that somebody had posted here a few months back. It has you start off at 6.0, then increase it by .1 every 2 minutes, all he way to 7.3. Then you bump back down .1 every minute. Add in a warm up and a cool down. I played with it this morning though! LOL. Just couldn't let well enough alone! LOL. I did the ladder all the way up, then hung at the 7.3 pace for several miles, then SLOWLY came back down. It was an AWESOME WORKOUT!

Sorry I have to be so quick.

Oh....and I got in the Butterfinger Ice Cream last night! LOL. SHAME ON ME! LOL It's all gone, though, so all's good!

BBL to catch up and do personals (hopefully).

Gayle

Hi there Ladies –

I’m back in the swing of things, sort of. Meaning, I’ll be getting in a workout (did not do one yesterday), and I’ll be going to work. I’ll be doing GS BSB Time Saver and Abs this morning, and a spin this afternoon.

It’s so hard to sit here and not have my buddy sitting at my feet with his head on my lap – or laying beside me on his back with his paws in the air, snoring. And I cannot get the image of him laying there after being hit out of my mind. He so did not deserve to die that way. He has the soul of an angel – not a mean bone in him. DH went to take Kimo for a walk last night and broke down when he get back. There’s such a hole in our lives. There’s a big memorial outside our house filled with flowers right now. I want to thank ALL of you Cheetahs for your hugs and love. I really felt it yesterday and today. You’re a great group of ladies and I’m glad I know you.

Cathy – have you talked to your doctor about possible alternatives to that medicine? If it’s affecting you so much, maybe you need to change. I hope you get your energy levels back!

Sunny – enjoy your run! Sounds like a good thing to do.

Marcia – that sounds heavenly – to just sit outside curled up in a warm blanket with a cup a hot coffee and enjoy the weather! Enjoy! And great workout yesterday! WOW!

Wendy – oh brother – sorry to hear about the episode of “Cops” that took place outside your window! That’s scary! I hope you start feeling better soon – that nasty cold is a killer to kick. Took me almost a week! Enjoy your spin class. I know what you mean about the kickbox class. I think I’d take an “easy” spin, too.

Gayle – wow – what a workout! I’m sitting here in envy wishing I could even think of doing such a workout! Hope you enjoyed your Butterfinger Ice Cream – I think we all need a great treat once in a while.

Well, ladies, I supposed I should get my butt in gear. Enjoy your days, everyone.

I couldn't open it??? Hmmmm......I'll try again in a little while.

Hugs to you and your family, Judy, I know this is a tough time and we are here for you.

Take care,
Marcia.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...sorry about the dropped energy. It has to be frustrating. So you have another 4 months? I hope today is better..enjoy P90X B&B.

Sunny...have a good run.

Marcia...good workouts yesterday! Enjoy P90X today. I hope the basketball team does well..:)

Wendy..I think Airborne does help for the duration of a cold. But the best time to take it is before you get sick. Like if your DH came down with the cold, then you start taking it to prevent the cold. The bad thing is we don't always know when we are exposed. Have fun spinning. Wow...interesting DUI story...wonder how the windshield got busted?

Gayle...sounds like a great run! The Ice cream I have to avoid is Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough....

Christine...I am glad you feel up to a workout today. I can remember all to well that empty feeling. I know you and your family are suffering. This is such a hard thing to try and understand. Not fair in ANY way. But I know you gave Tucker a wonderful home and life, and I like to think he is up in heaven playing with my dogs...:)...you are in my thoughts.

Judy...the page didn't work for me. It says you have to be a registered user to view the page.

Oh my....BBC Shoulders & Back....Joey is incredible EASY on the eyes...:D ...needless to say I LOVE THIS WORKOUT! Shoulders as always been my favorite part to work and there were some new and interesting exercise on this one!!! Today will be B&G standing, a warm up on the EXT before a 3-4 mile run. I have been using my foam roller everyday and it really helps with the soreness...I will go back and catch up from yesterday...:)

Jackie...I am definitely happy I got the BBC workouts. Different is always good. Tempo runs are tough but it sounds like you did great! I know you are ready for a 10K.

Linda...for Nadia's warm up I went a lot slower than they did as I thought "what's the point of going fast here?" I loved Shoulders and Back (or maybe just watching Joey??...)...Good job with GS Legs.

Shelly...wow, that race prep run sounds tough. I know you will do well...:)...Thank you, you are so sweet. I am so looking forward to meeting up with you cheetahs that can go on Cathe's Road Trip. To meet you Shelly, a cheetah that does some super tough workouts, would be MY pleasure...:)

Susan...I am finding the foam roller very helpful on the glutes. I use it a little on my back but stretching my back feels better. I think right now any standing leg work done with a barbell on my shoulders is a bad idea. So I am avoiding that. I am doing Freestyle again so I will be working my legs 5-6 days a week. My glute/hip area is feeling better and my back flares up just occasionally. Hope your EXT workout was fun..

Good morning everyone!

Shelly - That's an awesome time on that 10K! It is fun seeing just how much we can do at 50. I will limit the speedwork. 6.0 is a good comfortable pace for me. Thanks.

Wendy - Glad you found an oldie that you enjoyed. Hope you feel better and you don't have to miss your GTG. You can definitely pick X up again.

Linda - Do you think we need to go to tilt and tuck school? LOL!!

Jess - Love my medicine ball. I have an 8 lb. and would like a lighter one. But, I just can't make myself buy another one. Glad you're feeling better.

Marcia - I like your circuit. Glad the class enjoyed it.

Cathy - Sorry to hear you're feeling frustrated with the meds. Maybe your doc can offer some insight. Hope you feel more energized today?

Sunny - Hope you had a good run.

Gayle - Great tempo run! That's the one I did yesterday but I couldn't hang at that 7.3 for more than the 2 minutes. That's a really tough one. You deserved that ice cream after that.

Christine - Hope you have a great workout today! It will get easier for you. (((((HUGS)))))

Judy - Thanks for sharing the memorial page but I couldn't open it either. Everyone is still in my prayers.

Carole - Yay!! You found a BBC you love! I'm sure it's because of that nice eye candy too. Thanks for the info on Freestyle. I'm reworking a few things.

I did P90X Legs and Back and Yoga for Hips & Thighs with Suzanne Deason. The stretches felt good.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Jackie

Good morning everyone!

Cathy - I agree that you should make a Dr's appointment and find out if it is, indeed, the meds. Hope you can enjoy your workout this afternoon and good job on B&B!

Sunny - Enjoy your run!

Marcia - I am glad they enjoyed the class! I looked great! Ahhh! Curling up with a blanket and coffee sounds good! It is really nice here today, too. It is supposed to end up around 75 or 77!

Wendy - Hope you enjoy whichever class you decide to take! I can understand not wanting to do the kickbox with it being so crowded! That could be scary seeing what you saw last happen right by your house!

Gayle - That sounds like an awesome run! Yummy! Butterfinger ice cream! For some reason, I am starving this morning and it seems like I cannot get enough! Sure would like to have some of that ice cream
;-)

Christine - I can literally picture Tucker in my mind and his sweet personality. I am so glad you posted the picture of him....he was beautiful! And with the stories you have told us, I can just see him! I always wondered what you screen name stood for! That is cute!

Judy - I tried to click the link, too, but it wouldn't let me open it. I hope you guys are all doing okay. I am sure you are still in shock :-(

Carole - I am so glad you liked B&S! I love that one! It is my favorite! I also like the standing corework. LOL...I agree...Joey makes it pretty easy to love the workout! ;-) I think my favorite body part to work is the back.

Jackie - LOL....yes...I think we do need Tuck, tilt and tighten school! I did Last Minute Abs this morning and "so far" so good! I really do like that one! I hope I can get the form down correctly! Good job on your workout!

This morning I ran 5.75 miles and did GS C&T and Last Minute Abs.

Hi to everyone and hope everyone is having a great day!

Linda

Good morning cheetahs! The weather has finally cooled off in this corner of the country. It feels great, so I'm headed out the door soon for a relaxed pace 3-4 mile run.

Cathy- I'm glad you're going to see your doc soon. I find it hard to believe that there would be no alternatives available to you. This seems like a pretty serious side effect to be just putting up with for 4 months! Anyway, I hope you can manage to get your workouts in, it must be frustrating to you now!

SunnyD- yippeee, a run!!! How far?

Marcia- You're sounding like you're feeling well and full of energy!
Great to hear that. You sound like you put alot of effort into creating an awesome circuit workout:7 Your weekend trip sounds like it'll be a fun one!

Wendy- Sorry to hear your battling a nasty cold! You're healthy and in good shape so I'm sure you'll be able to kick it soon. A crowded kickbox class sounds dangerous to me.... I'd be opting for the spin class myself;-)

Gayle- Glad you liked my speedladder workout!! I haven't done this one in a while. It'll have to wait a bit now, I'll be taking it easy until after my race on Saturday.

Christine- I'm so glad we were able to provide you with at least a little comfort:) A spin class would be quite therapeutic for you I think. BTW, I hope you're not considering changing your screen
name. I think it will be a lasting wonderful memorial for a very special companion :)

Judy- Warm thoughts to you as always and have a great weekend away!

Carole- Did you ever find your kitty? Your reviews of BBC have me really anxious to try it! There was a snafu with the delivery of mine! It finally got resolved yesterday and to make up for it the company is sending me a free T shirt:) So hopefully, I'll have my eager paws on it in a few days. Good luck on your run today!!!
Let us know how it goes.

Jackie- Thank you for the kudos on my race time but ya know, there are some wickedly fast "old ladies" around here. I get humbled and put in my place alot! But I still have fun and that's the whole point!! Have a great workout and rest of the day to you!

DH and I will be having some friends and family ove this weekend so we'll be busy shopping for that today. Later I'll be getting in GS C&T..... love that one!

ShellyC

Good morning ladies,
Just a quick check-in for me. I am working in my Allyson's 1st grade classroom today. I am so mad at myself this morning. Ally lost her 2nd top tooth last night and was so excited and put it in her tooth fairy box and the tooth fairy forgot to come. I can't beleive I forgot:( She was so disappointed this morning and wondered why the tooth fairy forgot. I told her that the tooth fairy was probably very busy last night and would surely come tonight. It is amazing how much stuff like that means to our kids. So, I will NOT forget tonight.

Today, I will do ME upper body and maybe a the 3 combos from KPC. My back is a tad bit sore today, so I may just lay off the cardio.

Cathy, I am sorry your workouts have not gone as planned. It is so hard to always get them in, especially when you are tired. Have a good run today!

Sunnydelite, enjoy your run today:) Do you run outside or on the treadmill?

Marcia, you are really getting some good workouts in. I really like power walking. It tends to calm me down a bit more than the high impact workouts. I still do LOVE to jump around though;-)

Wendy, a spin class sounds great! I find that to be one TOUGH workout. I hope you can get rid of that cold soon. I take a lot of zinc and that seems to keep the colds away from me.

Gayle, AWESOME workout you did today. You get a lot of use out of that treadmill of yours:)

Christine, It will be good for you to get a good workout in today. I think that is great that you have a memorial in front of your house to honor Tucker. What a TRULY special and caring person you are. Tucker was so lucky to have those years with you and I sure he is wiggling his bum up in heaven and making lots of new friends:)

Judy, hi and I hope things are going well for you now. (((HUGS))

CArole, Good luck on your run. I hope your glute and back behave:)

Ladies, I will be back for more personals. I gotta go now.

Susan

Hello again! I'm back from a satisfying 3.5 mile run, used the foam roller and stretched also:)

Linda- Sounds like we have similar workouts today:) Great minds think alike right? Last minute abs sounds intriguing... who does it?

Susan- Your tooth fairy plight put a smile on my face! I remember
my mother always included a teenytiny card with my money award.
It was only about 1/2 inch long and wide and folded with T.F written in glitter on the front. I never to this day know how she managed to write so small! I'm sure Ally won't really mind waiting an extra day. You're a terrific mom!!!

Linda - Good workout today. I plan on giving LMA another try because I like the workout too. Maybe I'll wait until April though.

Susan - Your tooth fairy story reminds me of America's Funniest Videos where the little girl made a fake tooth to fool the fairy. What the little girl got was a ticket. It was hilarious. Hope you dont' forget tonight. Enjoy your workout. Hope the back feels better.

Shelly - Glad you enjoyed your workout. I've been using the foam roller in the afternoons when I get home. It feels so good. Also bought Kelli Roberts new workout to go along with it.

I thought I had found a 10K to run on April 7. I checked the website for registration fee and information. They didn't have anything on it but a phone #. So, I call the number and found out they had the wrong date. The race is not until April 7, 2008. UGH!!! I did find a 5K on April 14. The Road Race Series that I want to participate in won't have the 10K until Sept. I should be well trained by then. LOL!!
