:::: CHEETAHS ::::: Thurs., 2/22

Barb- Thanks for all your suggestions. :)
I bought 3 books, Instant Relief, Chi Running, and Masters Running: A Guide for Staying Fit after 40.

My pain is present after prolonged periods of sitting (at the computer, and driving are the worst) I do not have pain at the beginning of the run that goes away; it was the opposite y'day. any way I'll see what I can learn with these books. :)

Susan- I hope your DD continues to gt back on that bike!

aw Christine.... I dare ya...
Today I did PP upper body 3 sets and it is another challenging UB WO. 3 sets of inverted shoulder press, 6 total sets of bicep curls with 12# DB.

Pick one and let me know what you thought!

Sweet dreams Wendy!

Judy - I did the PP Lower Body x3 and it was killer - can only imagine the PP UB x3 would be as well! I'm enjoying these, actually. Glad I got them...

Good Afternoon Cheetahs. I went to the doctors the other day with my 4yo dd. It was just a routine check up for her since she is turning 5 but I had made an appt for myself too because I have a pulled chest muscle. It's been bothering me on and off since Nov. I let it heal and then it begin to pull again. Then the other day when my forearm was numb from running I thought it may be more so I went. Come to find out I have a torn chest muscle and that side is so weak now that it is effecting my bicep ( hence the numb forearm) Anyway I need physical therapy. She also sent me for an echocardiogram just to be on the safe side since I run so much she wanted to cross all her T's. I of course got nervous because she said I may have bruised my heart. Anywho I went and did that and they called and said I am fine. My echo was normal. I thought it would be but you never can tell when your mind starts to play tricks on you. Now I just need physical therapy and I should be good to go.

Now for today. I did 4 miles and then 30 min of yoga, and then the abs from MIS.

Now I'm all caught up with me. I have to say the echo was the neatest thing ever. It really confirms how your should eat and live when you see your heart pumping away. I can't tell you how good it feels to just have a torn muscle as oppose to other things people have with there hearts.

Hey girls! I'm up from my nap!:p

I'd better get to personals before y'all get TOO chatty and I can't keep up!:7 :7 :7

Shelly: ONLY a 30 min EXT and scrambled eggs!? Girl, you've got to look up the word ONLY in the dictionary. I think you are confused by it's meaning! What you did certainly doesn't qualify use of the word ONLY!;) Too bad your trip east and the roadtrip are so close together yet so far apart. That would have been SUPER COOL if you could come! I'm very excited to be lucky enough to be able to meet you anyway though!:)

Kristi: Here's hopin' you can make it to the roadtrip! I already "warned" my DH about it!}( }( }(

Christine: ROTFLMAO! You are a hoot girl! Glad you FINALLY decided what work out to do! Sounds like a good one too!

Carole: WOW, you are going to come east for the roadtrip! That is sooo awesome!!!!:+ :+ :+

Judy: I am going on vacation from the end of July thru the beginning of August. We have to go in the summer because there is a whole gaggle of school age kids going...I prefer to take island vacations and take them when the weather is cooler here but hey...a warm weather vacation ANY time of year is better then none, right? ;) So what part of the Carribean will you and DH be cruising?

Barb: I'll be in MB end of July/beginning of August. Nice work out today. Have a good one!

Sunny: See ^^^ for when I'll be in MB! Would be cool if we would be there at the same time!:)

Linda: That's too bad about the RT but I don't blame you for being on board for Vegas. LOVE IT! DH and I are probably going there in 2008!}(

Susan: Another west coaster considering the RT!? That's so cool! I am planning to be there! I wanted to go in 2005 but it was just a bad time for it. I am chompin' at the bit to do it this year though!

Karen: I'm sorry about the torn muscle but glad that that is "all" it was as well. I used to get echos on a yearly basis as I used a cardiologist as my gp and he did them as a part of a physical.

So after DS is down for the night I will dust of my YP dvd and give him another go. I can't promise anything...but I will try!}( Now that I "get it", it will be easier for me though I know he moves pretty quickly and I was barely able to keep up with Baron at times! What does Tony say though??? "do your best and forget the rest!":+

Karen,
Sorry to hear about your chest muscle and having to get pt. But, I am so glad that it is not something more serious. Good for you for getting it checked out. Great workout!

Susan

Christine- PP LB x3 has gotto be a burner!

Wendy- That is pretty cool that you used to get annual echo's.
Karen- I am glad to read your heart is ok, but I am sorryabout the torn chest muscle!

I just hopped on my TM for a nice 2.2 mile walk just to keep loose.

ISorry if it si too personal.

Karen - glad you're doing okay and do not have any heart problems! How scary! And YES I know how tests can make one crazy... Ask anyone here... LOL Enjoy your running!!

Ut oh, cheetahs...I just woke up from an unplanned nap and am feelin' kinda groggy. I don't know what's going on with me ~ the tank's been on E for about a week now!! Anyway, I am not feelin' the workout right now... :( So, I am going to catch up with posts and try to wake up...

Be back shortly.

Rev up with some coffee Cathy and then get movin' on that work out girl!;)

I'm off to hang with Mr. YP for a while..

BBL!:+

Sunny :: I understand ~ it’s been hard for me to cut back on cardio, too (which my rotation this month -- the one I was doing before I ditched it for P90 - called for). I’ve been wondering about the kind of results I’ll get with more weights, less cardio. You’ve got a fun goal to work for! Get this - I just ordered a *bikini* from the Victoria’s Secret catalog…I haven't worn anything but a tankini in 10 years...so I'm hopin' I’m ready for prime-time come summer!! :) I enjoyed reading about how you & DH hooked up…cool that sometimes it does happen with a second-chance encounter.

Marcia :: Re: ARX…yeah, I didn’t care for it too much…I’ll give it a shot but think I might need to sub some Cathe abwork instead just to break up the monotony. I did feel it the next day, though…In terms of eating, I am zigzagging calories and just doing my best to eat as cleanly as possible. Most days of the month (with a few exceptions, of course) I’ve done fairly well…however, I noticed stepping on the scale the other day, that it has not budged in the past month. (I *am* down a bit in the measurements, though, that's all that matters to me.) I agree w/ Shelly – you’re right not to sweat the 1 lb. increase. You are on your way, baby!!!! :)

Wendy :: I just PM’d you – Freehold works for me. :)

Shelly :: I’m glad Birdy’s moving a little easier now…Did you wind up taking a rest day? Really?? ;) Hope you enjoyed your day either way.

Kristi :: I am interested in the road trip but have to see how things fall into place.

Christine :: I don’t even know what kind of soy milk I have in my fridge, but I’ll have to check out the brand you mentioned…I did like S&A…I feel it today mostly in my tri’s!…Yeah, Wendy and I are going shopping!!!!…Glad you get to keep DH home for a bit longer. :)

Carole :: I liked S&A & am feeling it today, for sure!…the one move I wasn’t crazy about was the crouching curls. Hope you enjoyed your workout.

Judy :: what part of the Caribbean will you & DH be visiting?…sounds like you have some good reading ahead of you.

Barb :: I cracked up at the part in your post where you told me NOT to buy the Tom Holland DVD. Thanks for NOT enabling…*lol*. Great workout!

Susan :: after seeing your pics, I can’t imagine you would ever have a “fat” day, but I guess we all have them. Don’t give in to the negative thoughts ~ you look GREAT!!

Linda :: well, Fluidity has shipped!…I’m hoping it is here tomorrow but the UPS tracking is not working – DOH!! *lol*…Yes, my longest long run before my half was 10 miles…I really have to stop reading your posts about Barry *lol*. Sunny planted the seed a while back, but now that I’m hearing you *both* talk about it, my resistance is wearing thin!!!

Karen :: wow!! A torn chest muscle!? Isn’t that amazing that you could function all this time with something like that? I’m glad the echo went well and that you’ve caught the problem now before it could get any worse. Great that you can keep running through your PT!!

Hi Jess & anyone else peeking in later!

cathy :)

Quick "Hello" here. I am so freaking tired today! It is a rest day and of that I am glad. I helped out in DD's kindergarten class this morning and then finished up a project due tonight. I got an A on my test last night even though I was thoroughly convinced that I was unprepared.....

My obligations tomorrow are as minimal as they get around here so I'll have time for personals. Talk to you all then!

cathy- I finally got my barre method workouts. I will try one tomorrow and see how I like them.

tonight I did the elliptical for 30 minutes and walked the track for 1-2miles.

with all this talk about fluidity, I might break down and get it. I am trying to resist though. I definately have enough workouts to keep me busy for awhile.

to my surprise I am not sore from butts and gutts leg blast premix but I didnt use weights for the lunges. I was thinking more of the freestyle method. I know they use light wts too though.

off to shower, hope you all have a great night!

Hey Laura ~ Let me know what you think of the BM workouts tomorrow. I haven't done either one since Sunday. The week's gotten away from me...I can see, though, that I may have to start waking up earlier & split my workouts in order to fit it all in once Fluidity arrives...I *have* to get my money's worth out of that thing!!...Sorry about the enabling talk!

Elaine :: congrats on the A! That's always a nice surprise to find out you did better than you thought. Enjoy your well-deserved rest day. I have been burnin' the candle at both ends myself lately and am SO looking forward to the massage I scheduled for this Saturday.

Well, Wendy - thanks for the nudge - I just finished Kenpo. I *did* break a sweat but it was not as intense as I thought it might be. I think it was Barb who said it's a good when you're looking for an intermediate intensity kind of workout, and that's just what I needed today. Glad I forced myself to snap out of my lazy mode.

OK, ladies - have a great night!!
Cathy :)

Cathy: I got your pm. I will write you in on my calander!:) Glad you got a work out in. Kenpo sounds perfect for the mood you were in tonight. Glad you enjoyed it. Cardio X is also good for times when you want something lower-key.

Well girls, I couldn't even last 5 mins with Mr. YP! There must be something wrong with me ladies! I got aggrivated almost immediately and threw Yoga X in instead. No matter how loud I put the sound up I had a very hard time hearing and understanding what Bryan was saying. I know he has a slight accent which might have been part of it but I also think the sound quality on the dvd may be poor or something. His voice was not loud enough over the music for me to be able to hear him clearly and not have to look up every 5 seconds to see what they were doing. ACK! Is it just me!?!?!? If anyone is interested in the dvd please pm me. If I don't pass it on to a Cheetah then it will either go in the garbage or onto Ebay one of these days....:-(

So I did all of Yoga X except for the balancing posture segment and the yoga belly 7 exercises. I just wasn't in the mood for them. The rest of it was fab though and I feel sooo much better!:+

Almost time for bed....nighty night!:*

Wendy,
YOU WILL NOT THROW MY MR YUMMY PANTS IN THE GARBAGE!!!!!!!(LOL)!!!

He is just really layed back and yes he does kind of slur his words, but who cares he is HOT! Actually, I really think people either love him or can't stand him. I personally love him because he was my first yoga dvd and he is the reason I so love yoga now.

Good job with yoga x. I have never done that one. I should try it:)

Nighty night!
