Happy Friday, cheetahs! :)

I couldn't get back here last night, so I have some catchin' up to do.

This afternoon will be MM, which I missed earlier in the week.

Be back shortly with personals.

Cathy :)

Sunny :: yes, I’m with you on the plan deviation this week ~ It’s hard when you’re constantly on-the-run. My workload has been burnin’ me out lately!! After today, I’ll have a pile of 300 papers to grade (no kidding!). That’s definitely not all gonna happen this weekend, esp. since I’ve neglected my work for my grad classes this week. Ugh! I just *hate* when I don’t have a handle on things. But I'll get through it, of course, but I’m sure it’s why I have been feeling really fatigued this week. Gonna have to do some rechargin’ this weekend! How much time do you usually spend with each client – one hour?

Marcia :: good job creating a kick-butt toning class the other night! Glad you like the tee. I sometimes drink a shake after a workout…or sometimes I drink one for b-fast…I use light vanilla soymilk in mine plus one scoop of whey protein powder (I bought a large tub at Target for about $11…the brand is Body Fortress…it has 1 g of sugar per serving and 23 g protein) frozen berries, and two ice cubes. My favorite combo is pineapples and cherries. Yum!!

Wendy :: I avoided rotations for a while, too…first, I never had all the workouts listed and didn’t know what to sub…and then second, I figured that my schedule requires too much flexibility to do it “right”…But last month, I said what-the-hay and gave it a shot…I’d say it worked out well even with the occasional switching…I mean, I probably *did* switch around at least one thing every week…but in the end, I did lose 5 lbs. and a few inches without having much of a calorie deficit for most of the month, so I’m sold on rotations.

Judy :: great job on the TM intervals – I agree, they make it a little more fun. Add Seinfeld and you're set! :)

Laura :: I received your check and will drop your shirt in tomorrow morning’s mail.

Kristi :: hope you get everything accomplished on your day off, so you can enjoy your weekend more! Have fun with the Leg Blast ~ can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it!

Christine :: I see your point that there is value in doing something – even if it means taking it easy…the last time I felt under the weather, I took a nice & easy 30 min. walk on the TM, and it did feel good… I think my hangup has always been that if I haven’t sweated buckets and/or feel totally spent after a workout, I don’t feel I *really* gave it my all. I think that is one of the reasons why I’ve had to retrain my brain to do things other than running – b/c I still feel that there’s no cardio that compares to running for an hour for me. I also think LD runners become very good at mentally overcoming physical discomfort, so every one of us here has the ability to push hard & plow through -- even when we probably shouldn’t. Just because we *can* do it doesn’t always mean we *should.* That's one I had to learn the hard way, so I'm much better now about doing what's right for my body and turning off the guilt switch. It's still there at times, but it's under control. Enjoy lunch with Susan today!!! Lucky cheetahs!

Carole :: of course, I ordered the dang thing (P90X). (Thanks, my cheetah enablers!) The ordering process was INSANE ~ lol ~ that guy is some salesman! Just let me pay already, dude!!!...Well, at least DH is observant about the important stuff!! It’s nice when others notice ~ keeps ya motivated to work hard.

Jess :: I saw the foam roller article the other day and thought of you.

Gayle :: happy belated birthday!!!!!! :) :) :) Hope you enjoyed your day and your dinner at Carraba’s! Sounds tasty. Oddly enough, for as long as that place has been around, I’ve never been there. Always seem to gravitate toward Outback instead. Anyway, I hope there was cake! GOTTA have cake on your b-day!!

Barb :: good job on getting in a solid workout! Anytime I hear legs + a run, I shudder! But I’m gonna try it tomorrow. You cheetahs have inspired me to toughen up!! :)

Susan :: great news from the PT!! Enjoy today’s lunch with Christine! Since you’re the cheetah who seems to making the rounds, when are you coming to Jersey to meet Wendy and me?? :) I just rec'd your check yesterday, so I will pack up your shirt & mail it tomorrow morning.

Hi Linda, Elaine, and Thomasina!

Have a great Friday, ladies!
Cathy :) <----soon to be an X-er!

Good morning cheetahs,

Cathy-300 papers (GASP), yes, it's unfortunate to me at times just how much of a workload we (women) carry. i spend a half hr with each client(s). i also have couple clients, so i train them at the same time. congrats on ordering p90x!! you won't be sorry.

marcia- did you get a package yesterday?

christine- lol, you are right. however my plan is to work ft at the gym. it's cool because i can schedule my clients around the daycare at the gym. so my baby is with me all the time and i am now able to pick up older ds from school.

carole- whooooo hooooo on loosing weight!! you have a great dh!

ladies guess what..... yesterday i booked my first at home client!!!! my hairdresser has a son that is overweight and he was looking for a trainer so she told him about me. i am so excited:D

today's workout is supposed to be kenpoX however i am subbing for KPC since i didn't get a chance to do my abs yesterday.

happy friday everyone:)

Good Morning.

Sunny - Nope, no package yet, but the infomercial is on TV ;-)

Tonight I am bartending/waitressing so no workout because that will be a good workout in itself.}(

Otherwise, not much to report on in my world at all.

Marcia.

Morning Ladies!

Cathy: I am so excited for you that you ordered the X! You are such a strength nut that you have no choice but to LOVE IT!!!!}( }( }( You can easily sub in runs for his cardio if you want. It'll be awesome! Will you be using the band option for pull ups? I know you said you don't have anywhere to put a pull up bar.

Sunny: Have fun k'boxing with Cathe today!:)

Marcia: Jeez girl! You have what...THREE jobs!? You have a f/t day job, a p/t job teaching step AND you work at your bar!? ^5's chickie! I couldn't do all that!

I have a step class at 8:30 this morning and then I'm planning Baron's Long and Lean yoga at nap time. :)

I'll be back!

good morning,

wendy- I think with teaching my bootcamp classes that I am more focused on them right now rather than training for the half also. I also am still running but to train for a half, you know how much dedication that takes and I am more into my classes right now.

cathy- I cant wait to get my shirt!! they look cute!

Sunny- good for you on your first home client!

I think I will try to do a full body workout like ME or maybe I will do barrys full body bootcamp today. I am trying to add more total body strength training workouts in to see if that will help trim me down a bit. Hope it works, god knows I need it. Its amazing how a little extra weight makes you feel like a blob.

talk to you later!!!

Wendy - You got it. I work fulltime at the school, Tastefully Simple consultant, teach step class AND own a bar and grill which I work at least once a weekend. Whew.....Ok, I'm tired just putting all that into print. ;-)

Ya know, though, I came to the conclusion the other day about all these little jobs I've got and I believe 100% it's mainly because (well, I love them) but I am so unhappy at my full time job that I am trying all of these others out because I have a huge void in my life that my fulltime job doesn't fill that I'm trying to fill it with one of the others, ya know? It's kind of sad, actually, but it's just not feasible for me to quit my fulltime due to the health insurance, etc.

I'm hoping it changes quick, but I don't see that happening very soon. I just try to work through it and look forward to one of the other jobs.

OK - I guess I'm a little long winded now. ;-)

P.S. Tonight will be fun at the bar because we are having a karaoke singing contest and tonight is the last night to qualify. The winner wins three days two nights at a place they pick from a list of great places. Lots of fun on these nights, and the tips aren't bad either.;-)

Sorry to hear that Marcia.
Have you looked for another f/t job at all? I know what it's like to be in a job that you hate. Been there, done that. When I quit my last job to stay home with my son I vowed that when I went back to work f/t I would NOT allow myself to fall into the same trap of cr@ppy desk jobs again. I've done them all of my life and I am soooooooooo tired of it! That is why I finally got off my arse and ordered the PT materials!:) Have you given any further thoughts to getting a fitness certification?

Yes, I've thought about it very seriously and looked a little. But, (I know this is bad) but, I used to LOVE my job, I'm hoping that it will again be like that, but I'm afraid too many things have changed there that it won't. There are quite a few pros, one being that my son is there. He's in a different building this year because he's in fourth grade, but eventually he will be back to my building at the school and that's really nice. I figure if I loved it once, there's got to be a way to get it back to that point. But, we've added four new people to our area and they are all women - - - and you know what happens when you get too many women working together - DRAMA......

Anyway, enough whining for me today ;-) I'll just hang in there and if things don't improve by summer when the kids aren't there and things are much more laid back then I will continue my search for a new job. Hopefully, I won't whine too much before then that you will all have to listen too. :*

Thanks for listeing. Marcia.

Good morning. I didn't get back online after yesterday afternoon, so I have to catch up also. Will do that in a bit.

Younger DS was sick all night, so I'm TIRED! He'll be home with me today and we'll both be resting. I'm taking today as a DOR, which is actually perfect timing!

I also wanted to post this link:
http://orders.racephotonetwork.com/QPPlus/Proofs.aspx
It's some pics of my during the 10K this past weekend. All bundled up, lol!

I'll be back after the bus comes and I'll chat more then!

Gayle

Gayle, I think we need the info to plug in to get your pics if you want to post it for us.

Karen, Feel better soon! (((hugs)))

Well, I'm off to class...I'll be back to chat with everyone afterwards!:)

Sorry, Wendy. I thought the link took you directly to the pics. OK:
Date of Event: 02/04/07
Nave of Event: Super Bowl Sunday 10K
Bib Number: 89

Good morning again. I got older DS off to the bus and I got a chance to catch all up here!

Thanks for the BDay wishes yesterday. It was a great day and ended up at my house with us all snuggled up watching Survivor!

Dinner was good, but I gotta tell ya…..eating out and not eating right are HIGHLY overrated! LOL. First, the cost of eating out is incredible! The food was excellent, but my body just isn’t used to getting some of that stuff that I ate last night (like the garlic mashed potatoes, and the salad dressing on my salad….which I don’t ever use). I tossed and turned all night with ‘stomach issues’, lol. Very uncomfortable feeling and I didn’t like it one bit.

SO…….today marks Day 1 for me. I have about 13-15 pounds of extra ‘stuff’ that I need to rid my body of. Fresh start. Clean eating……..HERE I COME!

Now for personals:

Judy-that upper body workout looks tough. I’m also assuming you have a multi disc player????

Jess-I’ve always had big calves too! Weird, because using heavy weights everywhere else on the LB works on slimming and toning me. I don’t use any weight when doing calves (and I hardly ever work them because of all the running and stuff).

YOU ARE GOURGEOUS, girl! And that family of yours if precious! Thanks for sharing the pictures with us!

Carole-THANKS for the BDay cake…yummy! Lol

Thomasina-I’ll drop you my mailing address in your email box next! And, no EXTRA cookbooks, please. LOL I’m really looking for WW and/or light recipes!

Susan-GLAD you got the release from the Docs. Take it slow!

Christine-I’ve always joked with my friends when the topic turned to food! I tell them I could talk all of them to their graves! Lol

Wendy-glad Joey napped ‘right’ yesterday. The very DAY my older DS turned 2, those temper tantrums started. I’ve never seen anything like his tantrums! I can remember lugging him home from a friend’s house down the street when he was 2 ½ and I was 9 months pregnant….carrying him like a sack of potatoes all the way down the block, kicking, screaming, flailing his arms! LOL Good memory, sometimes! Lol

Marcia-still no package??? I had no idea you owned a bar! How cool is that?

Karen-I sure hope you’re feeling better soon! Take it easy and be sure to get your fluids! “yes, MOM”! lol

Gayle

Happy Friday All!

I’m soo glad it’s Friday! Dh is taking me out for Valentine’s Day tonight as he’ll be leaving for Australia tomorrow evening. And I’m going to lunch with Susan today!!! YEAH!!! Clean eating will be a challenge. Oh well. I’m going to do some steady state cardio – not sure which. We’ll see. I’ll let you know.

Cathy – you’re right. LD runners (as well as any endurance sport person) are very good at pushing through the pain as it IS a mental thing and we’ve learned to work through it. I don’t know if I feel guilty any more (I used to, but as I’m exercising much more consistently, those feelings have gone away), but I feel out-of-sorts and just not right. Good luck with that one, it’s a tough one. Way to go on ordering the X!!

Sunny – I’m very happy that you’re getting to do what you love and be with those you love! Wonderful for you!

Marcia – have fun waitressing and bartending! That IS a workout! I’m with Wendy – ain’t no way I could do that!! *Hats off to Marcia!* Sorry you do not like your full time job!

Wendy – enjoy your step class and yoga. Sounds like a really good plan!

Laura – let me know if adding more weights works for you. I’m going the opposite and lightening the weights and adding more cardio. It’s all guess work… And experimentation. And change is also a good thing.

Judy – Oh how exciting – another PT in our midst! One that knows her stuff!

Gayle – sorry to hear DS is sick – especially on your birthday! You poor thing (him too!) LOVE the photos!! Enjoy your rest day.

Karen – hope you’re feeling better!!! Stomach viruses are the worst!!

If anyone has any ideas of what I should do, let me know. I’m thinking maybe Step Blast. :+

Good Morning?!

Karen- I'm sending 'get well fast' wishes to you!

Marcia- You are one busy lady. Drama with women ant work can be agitating if you let it. But you appear to be doing well at ignoring it. Tonight's gig sounds fun! Dh & I love to go out on Fridays

Cathy- Whew, your plate is full too! I'm sure you will pace yourself this weekend and those a workout will be a great break from correcting papers and grad school work. When do you go to you graduate classes?

Wendy- How do the live step classes compare to Cathe? I really have very little experience live classes. ( I think I tried one at the Y about 12 years ago, but had to leave because my baby was crying in the babysitting room) I've been a home girl ever since.

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

I haven't gone back to check last night's posts, so I apologize if I didn't address everyone who commented.

It is almost time to get on the TM or EXT, I am late today because DH's car is in the shop again (second time this week) and I had to drive him to work.

Gayle- A multi disK player is not needed; PP and SS are on the same DVD. It is easy to use the remote control to jump from SS to PP. In fact it is too easy; I needed longer rests at times.

Christine- You have quite a day planned! Will you post some pictures of you and Susan?

OK the PP/SS super workout of yesterday did give me DOMS in my back (rare for me) and triceps & biceps. I think even my pecs are starting to feel it too! I will do this one again!

Oh, Judy! You're right! I'll be trying that one out Sunday, I believe! (Oh....maybe later today is DS rests?)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy....WOW!!! I am proud of you for getting P90X!!!!...:)..Have fun with MM...

Sunny...that is great about your first at home client!! I will admit that when it comes to weight gain or loss my DH has always been sweet. Have fun with KPC.

Wendy...good job getting in P90X B&B plus ARX. Oh my, you almost fell off the TM?...glad you caught yourself, it can be so easy I bet to zone out. You can always put off the half marathon. They will always be there. Enjoy your step class and Yoga.

Marcia...I do think most of us that love our jobs are very lucky...or blessed depending on how you look at it. I will say though, that working with women in a Salon is much more fun for me than working with women in banking ever was...:)

Gayle...sorry about your DS being sick all night. A rest day is for sure in order. I am with you about eating out. I alway end up with stomach issues it seems...

Christine....I am not really a rap fan myself, but in some of the iClimbs I do like the beat of the rap. Glad your red nose is gone...My DH cooks too, just not real often. Have a great Indian food lunch with Susan...I think we are all jealous.
Enjoy your Valentine dinner with DH! I think Stepblast is a very good choice today.

Karen...yuk, sorry about the stomach virus. I know things are going around. I hope you get better ASAP!

Laura...ME is always a fun and tough workout. You will love your shirt.

Judy...have a good TM or EXT workout.

Elaine...Running Humboldt with you would be my pleasure...:)...how who else can we talk in to it??...

Tomasina...the Pyramids are great, in fact I was planning on doing a bit of PUB today.

Susan...good news about your back and being able to ass some light running! Have a great time with Christine...

I am doing PUB back, some abs and a 5 mile interval run.

Have a great day...:)
