:::CHEETAHS::: TESTING TUESDAY!:::

fitg

Cathlete
GOOD MORNING CHEETAHS!

Cathy: Perhaps we will meet next October. I have committed to running a marathon on May 23rd with a friend. I'm already scared!! The marathon was all I could think about yesterday with you girls running and all! :) CONGRATULATIONS again on your amazing accomplishment! Not knowing what you're teaching today is a bit scary I bet. I am sure the sub didn't cover everything you left. They never do. No worries. :)

Wendy: I see you have been bitten by the marathon bug! You did an AWESOME job! :) Can't wait to see pics!

Shelly: You are a top notch Cheetah! :) My longest weekly run is 6. I am trying to increase in preparation for the marathon in May. Will log in 7 sometime this week. CONGRATULATIONS on your strong run! :)

Karen: IA that a run probably wouldn't be a good idea with your calf yelling at you. So you are marathon bound too?

Dallas: Your DD made it far in the tournament! The drive with DH was really nice, thanks for asking. Glad you could meet up with the Cheetahs! :)

Jackie: I am doing well today with the DOMS. Hope you had an awesome day off! Great workout! :)

Hi LaDonna! Great race! Hope the PF isn't serious!

Linda: I am in tears over this dog story. It would break my heart too.
:(

Hi Judy! Great run!

Yesterday was a three miler. I have to go and peruse the dvds for today. We are doing our state standardized test today and Thursday so I need to get in and sharpen some number 2 pencils. Have a great day Cheetahs!

still ridin' the post-Chitown high

Good morning, cheetahs!

I'm going with Hal Higdon's "Week Zero," which says today should be a rest day. And uh, yeah, being that I'm operating on four hours of sleep, I think that'll work fine. Needless to say, I'll be crashing early. :)

Gloria :: Wow, you do your standardizeds now? Do you test twice a year then? That is fantastic you've registered with your friend! I initially registered for Chicago without any running partners, and in retrospect, I think that was a bit naive. I probably would've still made it, but there is no way it would've been anywhere near the experience it was if I didn't have friends and fam with me. So maybe you'll be ready for your 2nd in October. :) Nope, no worries here--I'm a professional. I know what I'm doing. Really. ;) :) *ha ha* I reviewed my plans last night after I posted. Everything is set for the week. Good luck today with testing--hope everything goes smoothly!

I caught up with other personals last night, so this be it for me. :)

Have a great day, all! (And a happy Sunday to Carole!) *lol*

cathy- i knew you could do it!!! sounds like you and the cheetahs had so much fun:D they showed parts of the marathon on tv so i was looking for ya;)

how awesome carole and the rest of the cheetahs are!!!!

well dare i say you have me so pumped that i just may think of joining you next year. oh noooooo, what am i thinking lol.

i miss you guys but life is just so busy right now. for those that don't know i started a new job as the health and wellness director at a local ymca. so i am back to working fulltime.

cheetah power is awesome!!!

have a great day!

Mornin' Peeps!

Welcome back Chi-Town Cheetahs!:D

Gloria: So you are doing a May 09 marathon? What's the name of it? Is it local? May is my target month. I'd like to do my first in May too. :)

Cathy: You have a point about possibly driving several hours so why not just fly. I just really want to run my first mary in the earlier part of the year. You know-get it over with so I don't chicken out! LOL I'll probably opt for one of the 2 that take place in MD. That isn't that far away though the one in Mass will be tempting if it's close to Boston. That being said, I will still definately look into coming to Chicago in 09 since you plan on going back. Not sure if I'd run or not but I definately would want to come to show Cheetah support and to hang out with a great group of women. :) I wanted to do that this time but our races were the same day-what are the chances of that!? Go figure!

Sunny: Nice to see you here! :)

So my knees definately feel better this morning as does my right foot. My thighs are still quite sore but one thing at a time. I foam rolled 3x y'day and will do more today. Soreness-b-gone is my motto!;) Not sure about a work out today. I'll play it by ear...

Well hopefully by the time I get back here after work today, the rest of the Chi-Towners will have checked in that they are safe and sound at home again.

BBL!

Hey Cheetahs. My foot is feeling much better today. I think a week of rest make a world of difference. I will be cleaning the house today as my workout. ;) Opps I just glanced at the time. I need to go get DS up for school. I'll bbl to say hi to everyone.

Good Morning Girls. Today I feel much better thanks to Wendy and her foam roller advice. I got on the TM and did 3 easy miles and then foam rolled. I took shorter strides than I normally do by I was trying to favor all the soreness. By mile 2 it was working itself out which is what I was hoping for. Anyway off to begin school today.

Cathy- Take it easy today. You deserve it.

Wendy- Best advice this year.

Sunny- Gald your PF is doing better.

Gloria- Wow we are a bunch of marathoning cheethas

Jackie- a Christmas half. You'll do great. 10 miles is a long run and should tell the test

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!

Glad that all of the flying Cheetahs made it home safely! We had a slight delay for an engine leak (but I’ll take the delay and let them fix that!!), but I was home by 8PM.

Wendy – WAY TO GO!!! I’m in awe that you managed to run 18 miles under the conditions you did. Wow!! How incredible! Hope the knee and everything is feel great still!! I cannot wait to see the photos.

Shelly – you are a gem indeed! Great race and how wonderful that you were there encouraging Wendy! Congrats on your new dining room table!! I hope the house sells soon so you can come out and have me cheer YOU on! I would enjoy that so much!!

Jackie – great job with the speed work!! And great job on not being sore after a long run!!

Gloria – I’m impressed with our Cheetah Ladies, too! How cool are they? Great job on the run yesterday! Have fun with standardized testing. I can imagine that would be boring.

Cathy – what can I say Teach? You are everything I thought you would be and so much more! I soooo enjoyed meeting you and your darling mother. And WAY TO GO on your finish! You came in so strong! High fives hugs and all that. I am very happy you made it home safely!

Judy – Chicago was a blast!! I so enjoyed being the cheer section. I figured I got in about 6-7 miles just running from spot to spot to cheer Cathy and Posh!

Karen – You had a great run!! I’ll bet that was a fun half. You ran through some of my favorite parts of Baltimore. So what marathon are you considering? Hope your calf feels better soon!

Linda – oh I wish I were there to cheer you on for your first marathon! What an experience!! Love the story on your run! What a pain with all of the dogs, but glad “devil dog” backed off. Maybe next time if you run with Angel dog, take her to the pound or call animal control and they will come out and get her. Poor thing sounds like a real gem.

Dallas – I never got to get back to you on your text message! I’m so sorry the girls did not win – that must have been heart breaking!! Give my hugs to DD for that one! I loved her text message too. :D We were running around Millennium Park, but did not get a chance to really check it out – except slogging back and forth between the start and finish lines. Yes, I had fun running around, snapping pics and posting them. I have so many! I’m going to inundate er, ah, send them to Cathy this morning.

Hi Sunny – how the heck are you sweetie?

LaDonna – Hey there! Glad your foot is feeling better!! Enjoy your CleanMax.

And what a babilicious group we have!! The Cheetah ladies are beautiful on the outside and just as gorgeous on the inside. I had so much fun this weekend!! It’s nice to be home, but I miss the everyone already. Today will be a cycling day. I’m dying to get back on my bike. Hugs to all!

Good morning cheetahs

Made it home safe and sound yesterday, what a BLAST Chitown was!!! Cheetahs are the best!! Let me catch up on the other races first...:)

Karen..Congrats on the HM! WOW about those hills. Way to go pushing through them (that tough training does pay off). That is great about all the support, it can really keep you motivated. Having that energy at the end is a wonderful feeling, I can see how your kids yelling "Go Mom" would have brought tears to your eyes! I think you did awesome and what a great time especially with all those hills. I do hope your calf heals up quickly as your training won't be so intense now.

Wendy...LOL, I had the shaving and shorts issue too before the run Sunday! Sorry about it being TTOM and the bowel issues (I can relate!!). You sure did one hellava good run despite some issues. Glad Shelly was the motivator for your last 3 painful miles! You did awesome!! I am impressed you are thinking about the full mary now...:)..Congrats on the 3:29:04 chip time!

Shelly...LMBO about you belting out "Eye of the Tiger" for Wendy. I can sure see you being a great motivator! Now the next marathon is YOURS!!!

Thanks for all the travel vibes to Chicago and home..:). Went MUCH better than my experience to NJ last year!

Meeting up with Christine was fun. LOL about falling off the bed...:)...NO, I did not hurt myself. I was laying on my stomach and I turned my body around to get off but figured I had more bed to turn on!! Christine is for sure a great roomie (one of the best in fact!) She did awesome updating all of you about our fun times in Chitown and taking and posting pictures. Cathy's Mom is so sweet and Christine and I had a great breakfast with her before I had to get ready to meet Cathy.

What an experience running with Cathy & her friend Donna. Hard to put into words. I was going to meet her at mile 16 but it turned out it was easier to find her at 13. Yes, it got hot, but the support for the runners (water, hoses for spraying us, sponges, and the ICE at about mile 23 was wonderful) The crowds were so great, yelling and screaming support. Only one I wanted to pepper spray at mile 18, when he/she said "not far to go"...WTF?...Have they ever run a marathon??? I think they might do well with a class, Marathon Support 101 (what NOT to say!!!). Anyway I was so proud of Cathy, as I knew she was not feeling great at mile 13, but after all, she is a cheetah and she pushed through the miles and the pain. I had the best time running with her and Donna. In the marathons I have run I have not seen that much support anywhere with the crowds. Chicago would definitely be my choice for anyones 1st marathon.

Linda...WOW on the 24.6 miles for your last long run. Amazing story about that dog running 18 miles with you. I would have been in tears leaving her also, but you had no choice...I do not think you are NUTS in anyway!

Dallas...meeting you was sure a treat! I am so happy you got to come to dinner with us Sat. And Thank You so much for the drive back to the hotel (we might still be there if it was not for you!)..LMAO about the umbrella...No, my eye is fine...:D..The major fires in Cali are in the Southern part. They are really awful...

Posh...hey, where are you??? I was so happy to finally meet you and Congrats to you and Beryl for finishing Chicago!! Even now, thinking about your sense of humor makes me smile...:D

I will be back with more and hopefully some pictures...:)

Cathy..I agree, what happened in Chicago stays in Chicago!! I had the BEST time running with you and Donna. I am proud of the way you pushed yourself and finished, it is by no means easy to do, but hey, you are a cheetah!! I am so happy I decided to come to Chicago, I had an incredible time. Meeting your Mom was great. Christine and I had a very nice breakfast with her (while you were running!) and how nice she was there to support you!! Yes, Happy Sunday!!! Enjoy your well deserved rest today!

Gloria...so does reading about the Chicago marathon get you excited for yours!

Sunny...nice to see you again. I think you should do Chicago next year!!!

Wendy...so glad to hear your knee is better. You will probably be sore for a few days, but it will be gone soon. So what marathon did you decide on?

LaDonna...nice to see you again too. Glad your foot is better and YES, rest is good!

Karen...glad the foam roller is helping. I swear by those things! Good job with the 3 miles.

Christine..so glad you got home safe. As soon as I got in the car at Sac after I landed, I was slathered with kisses from Beau!! Then a 3 hour drive to get home. It was so nice to be back home. Thanks, I had so much fun with you! Hope DH is not too bummed about the Pats. I do know the feeling...Enjoy the cycling today.

I am planning on P90X CST, abs and a 5 mile run. I had 2 rest days (Sat & Mon)...wow, I know that is good for my body and now back to the nutrition software...:D

This is our dinner pic from Sat. Christine, Dallas, Posh, Cathy, Beryl (Posh's friend) and yours truly.

Have a great day...:)

HI Friends

I having a bit of lunch and a forum visit to go along with it.

Carole- Thanks for posting the picture and your observations from the big M. What a treat it must have been for Cathy to have you jump in at mile 13! And, thanks for sharing that great picture! It helps to see everyone again. I laughed at the kisses from Beau in the car!

Christine- Welcome back and thank you again for your updates. I can imagine 6-7 miles easy trying to catch the girls at certain check points.

Dallas- It is nice to See you in Carole's picture. Even if the kids did not win this weekend, the advanced to the finals! DS15's team did that again this weekend.

Karen- All this talk of marathons has me thinking about a possible half at some point...Did I just type that?

Wendy- See comment to Karen above ^ I am not sure how I feel about a long drive after a tough race.

Ok gotta skedaddle. DS15's hockey stik broke under warrenty. It cost $200 and so of course I am sending it back for a replacement!

Oops~ Today's workout was a 3 mile outsdie run and aobut 20 minutes of some yoga poses.

Hey there!

The picture that Carole posted of all of you guys was just beautiful! You guys are all beautiful and radiate health! :)

Gloria – How exciting! Which marathon have you committed to? Good job on your run yesterday! Oh dear! The Standardization tests sure bring back memories! :)

Cathy – Gosh! A lot of people had to go to the hospital, didn’t they? It is really hard for me to run in the heat and the humidity! I struggled with it this summer…and I hated it! I am so proud of you! You did awesome! I would love to run Chicago next year! I am hoping I can talk Patty into venturing outside of our “comfort zone” of the small, hometown marathon! LOL…that is…if I survive this one! ;) Yes, I came so close to driving back to the place where we found the dog to see if I could see her. She did have a collar. I just wish I knew if she had a home, or not. Yes, on the rural routes, it seems as if a lot of people just let their dogs run. Some were tied up and of course, were no problem! In town and the subdivisions, we have to have them on a leash or tied up!

Dallas – That sounds like a great workout! I am sorry the girls didn’t win! But they sure went far! It was still an awesome accomplishment! Your picture is beautiful!

Sunny – I sure do miss you posting! But I do understand! Wow! Congratulations on your new job! How exciting!

Wendy – LOL….okay, I understand about not wanting to do your marathon ‘til ’09! Glad the knees are feeling a little better today! Yes, “soreness, be gone!” :)

Karen – I am glad the foam roller and the easy miles have helped! You ran an amazing race!

Christine – Thanks! I wish you could be here, too! That would be so cool! Wow! I’ll bet you are missing your bike! I am tempted to drive back there and see if I can find “Angel Dog” and see if I can figure out if she has a home and then have the animal shelter take her if she doesn’t. But I worry that if they don’t find a home for her they will euthanize her. As much as I would love to, there is not way I can keep her :)

Carole – Thanks for posting the picture! You guys all look beautiful! And thanks for posting the link to the Enlyten Strips! I picked up some PowerBar Electrolytes. They are just a little “tube” that has electrolytes and comes in different flavors. They don’t have any calories or anything. You just pour it into water.

Judy – Good job on your run and yoga! Hope they replace or fix the Hockey stick with no hassle! LOL….I see you are being bitten by the half/full bug!!! Nobody seems to escape unbitten ;)

Well, the taper has officially begun! This morning was a 5 mile run and abs.

I have a question for all of you marathoners!! I printed something off of Runners World that said that 3 weeks before (when you begin your taper) you should cut out all weight training. I have seen that in some of my books, too. Should I? I have stopped lower body weights…..but do I need to stop upper also? I am thinking I may cut it all out, except abs….but not sure. Opinions?? TIA!

Hey to everyone! Gotta get some work done!

Is it Friday yet?

HOWDY Cheetahs!

Here I am! The SLOWEST Cheetah (see Wendy? Cathy? lol) to post….

Whew! finally made it home from one the BEST weekends ever! Sorry I didn’t post last night but after pm’ing the Chicago Cheetahs etc. I suddenly was very tired and went to sleep. Got myself 9 hours – rarely happens! Well, as you have already read, we had a fabulous time meeting up in Chicago. I highly recommend following the Teach to Chicago 09’! I am so grateful to have been able to meet CATHY, CAROLE, CHRISTINE, and DALLAS…what a fun, fun weekend! These gals are absolutely lovely and adorable! CHEETAH BABES RULE! ;)

Ok, so I’d better be on with the “report” eh? – but first, here’s my dog sporting her Chicago Marathon medal….lol….she’s was so freaked out to see me get home!

338684190.jpg

Ok, so my worst time ever for my 5th marathon but I don’t care – I finished under the circumstances. By the way, thank you Judy for the prayers because that along with the “lucky ladybug” probably saved my behind…lol. I started out with Cathy and Donna (Donna is great!) and we were pacing on conservatively when I had to suddenly tuck into the porta loos just about 10 miles? Let’s just say I began to have the same issues as Wendy did – um like I did 4 weeks ago in Maui . I felt bad though because I wanted to stay with Cathy but I surely wasn’t going to bring her down on the first marathon experience. Anyway, it all worked out because Donna and Carole were there for her, so I just SLOGGED on behind them and only had to stop 6 more times at the porta loos – ok, though because now I’m an expert on how to use them without sitting or putting your stuff down on the floor of them! LOL. I did walk/run quite a bit from mile 17 – 21 until after the motrin for cramps kicked in and then I slogged most of the way to the finish. I was no way going to give up and besides, I was to have that Chicago pizza and beer when I finished! :p LOVED the course and I do agree that the people of Chicago are the best ever! What a great experience to run through the different neighborhoods and the locals who are lined throughout to support! It did get way hot, and I was sunburned (even used sunscreen). I did appreciate the hoses, misters, sponges, and hydrants! Saw numerous people dropping out and being taken away in ambulances…yikes! But overall it was way cool and I seriously will go back in 09’ with Cathy! I must add, Cathy looked strong and fabulous before, during and AFTER the marathon! She even walked 6 bazillion blocks to pizza without any problems after the marathon – that girl is one tough Cheetah! Great weekend indeed! :D:D

Ok, here’s a shot of me, Cathy and LANCE! LOL – Cathy was hogging him but that’s ok  …lol..
338684211.jpg

Since I messed around so long with the dang pics this morning I’ve run out of time for personals as I do have to return to work today  and I must shower and get going….

Although, I must congratulate SHELLY, WENDY, LADONNA, and KAREN on well done races this past weekend! CHEETAHS ROCK! And thanks to all the Cheetah's kind words, support and prayers for us Chicago Cheetahs over the weekend!

I will get to personals tonight when I get home from work. Have a great day ya’ll!

POSH :D

Hiya cheetahdolls! Basking today in post run/race/workout accomplishments. What a fantastic group of fit gals:D:D:D.
I had a nice time yesterday with HSC. It felt like the perfect workout to do and made me nicely tired for a nap before work. I'm off tonight tho cuz tomorrow I go in for yet another computer learning day (my last one- YAY) After my nap I scooted on down to my current favorite running route... has a goodly amount of hills in it.. for a 5 miler that felt pretty darn good:D I have alot of paperwork and chores to catch up on and hopefully I can do some KBoxing later.... probably ITR.

Linda- OMG- your story of the Angel Dog Pit Bull really touched me! As a pit bull owner I am so dismayed by the unjust reputation they have. If, God Forbid, my Spanky were to get lost and come across some runners like yourselves I can see her doing that. I'm sending out a little prayer for your angel dog. Thanks for sharing that story!

Wendy- Hey, CONGRATULATIONS ON A SUB 3:30 finish time!!!! You beat your goal:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: It made putting up with my inane babble for 18 miles worth it! :p Hey, I like the looks of that Frederick Marathon!
Lots of time to ponder over possibilities tho. That's very encouraging that your soreness is so much better today! Again, superb job of pacing!

Dallas- Thanks for your kind words for the race but it was really our Miss Wendy's day! The race for me really served as a very nice training run for the Philly Marathon in Nov (23). I really should try to do those long runs at a slower pace now and then... my old bod felt pretty good and I had no trouble with HSC the next day. We'll see how I do on my 20 miler this Sun! Have you been inspired by all this to enter a race?????

Cathy- Glad to hear that you are getting a VERY well deserved good rest now!! Wow, going for Chicago again next year? I would have thought you would like to try a different one. You must have been quite impressed with it and you have me intrigued!!!! I have always wanted to do the Marine Corps Marathon in DC which is also in Oct but I may have to reconsider. Carole's comments about the crowd support really got me interested! BTW, when I commit to race with the other cheetahs I am quite happy to go at ANY pace!!!!!! Well, that's not exactly true.... I'm no elite runner for sure--- much more middle of the pack!

Gloria- LOL about already being nervous about a marathon next May!!!
You have LOTS of time to get very well prepared with a good long sensible training plan:D You'll have a training partner also I'm assuming so that will help tremendously! And of course the cheetahs are with you in spirit!

Sunny- How wonderful to hear from you!!! Your job must be a very busy one!! Thanks for letting us know how you are doing and I hope you can check in now and then.

LaDonna- Thanks for updating us on the HM. GREAT JOB and a great time!!! You have every right to be proud. Fantastic first effort... glad to hear the PF is a little better and hope it stays under control.

Karen- These races in Maryland sound so nice! I live only 1/2 hr from the Maryland border so I'm sure we'll be racing together eventually:D

Christine- "Babilicious"????:p:p:p You do have a way with words! Glad you are getting in your bike fix. I am feeling oddly optimistic despite the economic/housing woes of late, that my house will sell and I can commit to some travelling! Glad you are getting in your bike fix today;)

Carole- Thanks for sharing the pics! What a great group of fit beautiful women! Love the new look for you by the way but by now for you it isn't new I guess. I just haven't seen a pic of you with the new straight look before this.... very nice!!!! I had to relate to the rolling off the bed... sounds like something I'd do!;):p I had to chuckle over your comment about the airhead shouting almost there at mile 18. At our 18 mile race there actually was a woman (I'm not kidding) who at MILE 3 shouted out
"You're almost there!" I looked at her incredulously and said.... "UH.... I don't think so ...... but thanks anyway"! I was trying to be tactful!
Thanks for sharing the link about the electrolyte strips. Those look great to have on hand for those long hot races!

Judy- Uh oh... infected by race fever???? I'm sure your brother could recommend some very nice HMs!!!

Jackie- Thanks for the kind words yest!! Still on track for your HM in Memphis in Dec?

That about catches me up for now cheetahs... time to get some stuff done!

Hi Cheetahs!

I did KPC drills and Rumble bag, then back to KPC abs this morning. I still have upper body weights to do. I never got to them last night. I got lost in the laundry room. :p I posted two pictures on the Cheetah social group and in my picture section from Sat. night. :) I also posted a few pictures of DS in the goalie box. :) I guess I just video taped DD. Oops.

Cathy ~ I had heard Chicago is very supportive, but glad to know that's a good place to run a first marathon! Not far commute at all!! ;) Glad you're feeling well! Oh, it was no big deal about the restaurant. He seemed to make such a big deal out of it. I was trying to give him the "cut it off" signal before dh caught on. ;) Yep, you got that right about A LOT of the parents. Geez, they're just kids. When dh coached we joked he was like Will Farrell from Kicking and Screaming. :D It's funny he got so many Starbucks gift cards after his first season of coaching. lol He doesn't even drink coffee. He WAS pretty hyper and loud...in a good way. :) I'm so excited you're coming back for '09!! YEAH!! Let's wish for cooler weather right now! ;) Your poor mom. Hope she got some rest. That was sweet she stuck it out and was out supporting you in that heat. Is Hal's plan on the web? Will you continue to run 3 days a week like it was suggested in the e-mail I sent you?

Gloria ~ Yes, we're proud of both DD and DS. Good job on the 3 miles. Good luck w/the testing.

Hi Sunny ~ Congrats on the new job! :)

Wendy ~ Hope the soreness subsides? What about an upper body workout and some yoga/stretch DVD? How was the park y-day?

LaDonna ~ A mom's work is never done. My kids decided to rake leaves, but gave up because they said the leaves were falling too fast, and that they couldn't keep up. I said welcome to my world. LOL Just like my quote below! ;) Glad the foot is better. :)

Karen ~ Glad you're getting back to normal. :)

Christine ~ IA let them fix that leak. ha ha Oh, you guys didn't see the Crown Fountains?

http://www.millenniumpark.org/artandarchitecture/crown_fountain.html

It's quite funny! :D I'll have to find the funniest picture I took of the kids there. :D Oh, I hope Cathy shares. I'd love to see the race pictures you took. Glad you made it home safely. :)

Carole ~ lol about the bed incident and your comment about the spectator. :D So, how's Napa's course compared to Chicago? You have me thinking now. ;) I have never heard such a thing about the cab, but that's ok - it gave me more time to spend with you great ladies. I like my group shot better...my butt looks big in yours. lol:D It must have been my big lens. ;):p Pray the fires are contained. Thanks for the link for those tablets. I'm ordering some. :)

Judy ~ IA about the finals. That's what I told my kids, however some parents are getting it all wrong. :( I was sure to hug as many girls as they came off the field. They were really upset. :( YEAH, jump on the race wagon!! It's easy to get pumped isn't it!?!?! I've been on the Internet looking for another half. :) Good job on the 3 miles and yoga.

Linda ~ I was so sore this morn from iBiClimb. Grace has you do for one of the circuits - squats on your toes, but low ends FOREVER!!!! Oh my goodness, I was shaking like crazy! Curious too about the weights for future info.

Posh ~ Love your pictures and new avatar lol. Great shot w/Lance! too funny! :D Do share how you use them (port-o-potties)w/o putting your stuff on the floor!?!? I made many trips during the tourney and tried to hold my little purse between my legs while squatting. lol Nice inner thigh workout. ;) let's not talk about me being in it w/DS5 trying to line the thing so he could do his business. Talk about hot and cramped. ha ha

Jackie ~ I think I missed your review of those crazy squats Grace has you do in iBiClimb. Ouch! I'm feeling it today for sure! :) What other iTrain can you recommend to kill me?!?! ;)

Hi to any Cheetah who follows. Must start dinner. haha DS just asked if he could have an ice cream sandwich to cool his guts! He really makes me laugh. :)

Posh! Glad to see you posting today! Great pics!!! Love the one with the dog. I'm gonna have to do that with my next marathon. Spanky the Pit bull with her first marathon medal (LOL) I am in awe of you and Cathy completing that marathon under very difficult circumstances. KUDOS to you!!!!!!!!

Hi Shelly ~ Posting at the same time. Yes, I have been looking for races actually. :) You'll do great on your 20 miler! I used my old boxing gloves this AM for Rumble bag, and boy was that fun!!! I tell you because I think you're the only other Cheetah that has it. I had used these flimsy pair of gloves prior, but real boxing gloves made a difference. :) BTW, did you know that Amy is working on a Dynamic Series. I'm not sure of the presale date though.

Dallas- I think you've inspired me to do that heavy bag workout from Rumble... it is FUN! I'll have to go to her website to check out that new series... THanks!

Just getting done the last bit of school and posted before we shuffle out to soccer. I always say soccer season is way too long. Just wanted to say thanks for the photos Carole and Posh. You all look great and very cheetah like in chicago. Looks like such a night on the town.

Posh- Reading your experience was wonderful. I'm so happy you made it with all that potty trouble. I know for me that was one thing I was so worried about with the half and there were not nearly as many honey pots as they should have had. You did awesone. Love the dog photo

Linda - i can't wait to hear the others on the answers to your question. Love good info.

Judy- Yes, you can.

BBL

Hey, cheetahs!

I had a great first day back at school and felt so good, I couldn’t resist getting out there for a nice n’ easy 2.4 mile SLOG on this lovely autumn day.

Sunny—Totally understand you don’t have as much time to post being that your career is so smokin’ HOT! That would be awesome if you’d consider Chicago. And hey, don'tcha think a marathon would be a great asset to your training resume?? J BTW, I love your signature line.

Wendy
I just really want to run my first mary in the earlier part of the year. You know-get it over with so I don't chicken out! LOL
Now see, silly, THAT is why you were urged to register for Chicago in the first place! ;) J Glad you are slowly on the mend.

LaDonna—What a cute avatar. Good news about the foot!

Karen—glad you and Wendy have joined the group of believers. It really is a very helpful tool.

Christine—So, was the medal wearer on your plane? I feel the same. I could just gush on and on. A round of warm fuzzies to all! JJJ I can’t wait to see the pics. How was your ride today?

Carole—Bustin’ a gut about the one you wanted to pepper spray. Little snippets of moments have been coming back to me all day. On the RW Chicago forums, they have a thread about the different signs. Made me laugh. Did you see the one that said, “Poop if you gotta”? Oh, we sure had us some entertainment. I so loved running with you, too, and am eternally grateful for the support, wisdom, and laughs along the way. You & Christine were plainly awesome!!! ITA that Chicago is an ideal choice for a first. I chose well, if I may say so myself. *lol* I have some folks at school talking about it, too. J Also rolling re: Happy S. Way to avoid becoming roadkill. J Love the pic. Except...do I look like I have spinach or something in my teeth? *lol*

Linda—thank you for the compliments! Oh, it would be so great for you to come to Chicago. If Patty doesn’t want to go, hey, maybe you just leave her behind. You’ll be with your cheetah buds, and I promise that would be unforgettable!! Oh, are you kidding? You will definitely survive your marathon. Your training has been so on point!...I’ll share my opinion, though I am the least experienced and am obviously still learning. I didn’t do ub weights for the past month, not as a deliberate part of taper but because my school life just got a bit crazy. Personally, if it had gone the way I wanted, I would have continued with ub throughout training, maybe easing up during the final week. Nothing too taxing.

Posh baby—you’ve got me baggin’ up, as usual. Love the medal on the pooch and the shot of the two of us with our man. Did you know he didn’t run??? Whatup with that. Anyway, loved reading your report and appreciate greatly the kind words. You ROCKED it! It wasn't about speed, it was about HEART. (Did you see that sign? So true, IMO.) I have no idea how you fought through that kind of discomfort and stayed hydrated. Amazing!

Shelly—I would definitely enjoy traveling to other marathons, but yeah, moments after we finished, Donna and I agreed we wanted to repeat Chicago. And Posh is on board, too. Yippeeeeee!...IA, Carole’s new ‘do looks gorge, doesn’t it?

Dallas—oh yeah!! Can we get you to officially commit to ’09?? J I say, clear your calendar now, woman! :) I did see the Crown Fountain. Interesting. Yes, Hal’s plan is in the link you sent me. He advocates a backwards taper. I will take it easy this week, but thereafter, I will continue to run 4 days. I probably won’t post pics to the thread, but I will definitely share via email. And just stop right there, miss, with the big butt comments. No way! Are you crazy? *lol* “Cool his guts.” That DS is a little cutie, isn’t he?

For those interested in reading more about Chicago, check out the NYT article. It used the word SLOG! *lolol*

OMG, it mentions the man distributing beer during the 25th mile AND the nut who wore a full bodysuit!! The amazing thing is that guy STILL managed to PR! I'm dyin' laughin' over here.

OK, I guess unpacking would be a good idea...

Have a great night! :)
