:::CHEETAHS::: TERRIFIC TUESDAY!:::

fitg

Cathlete
GOOD MORNING!:)

Linda: Wow, your treadmill isn't that old to be breaking down. Don't feel bad about talking about it. I would be mad too!

Posh: I am happy to hear you were "livin' large" this weekend. :) Looking forward to some pics!

Hi Wendy and Karen!

Feeling refreshed this morning for going to bed as late as 9:30. Today will be the original BC.

Enjoy this Tuesday ladies!! :)

Today I wanna be like Carole :)

Morning, cheetahs!

—I enjoyed my kickback time a little too much! L (see below). Sounds like another very tasty dinner.

Caroleglad your mom is doing well. Let us know about your visit with John, too, please. *lol* about bringing your whip to Chicago. You are too funny. Can’t wait to hang out again! Here's hoping you get that rain you need by the end of the week.

—I am with you. I am starting to have a hard time keeping up with things, and I have been crashing way early. I need to get a grip here. Yesterday’s PD was on holistic and analytic scoring; we spent the majority of the day scoring the writing pre-assessments administered on Friday. This is the first time we were given a professional day to work on this, and I’m grateful for it, but even so, most of us only finished one full class. It is so time-consuming. Enjoy BC!

—Yeah, Whit was a real jerk, wasn’t he? I
googled it and found I was wrong—the original British release had the same title. Really, he was not fat, but funny flick nonetheless!...Glad your TM was functioning for you last night. Hope it does this morning, too. Don’t apologize—that’s a major issue, so any of us would be talking about it, too! BTW, now you’ve got the song “Soul Man” stuck in my brain. *lol*
Posh

keep us posted on those test results… Glad you liked the movie—it’s one of my favorites.
Regrettably, I snoozed right through my workout last night.
napsmileyff.gif
I'd decided to apply heat to the calf & hammy before foam rolling and then doing my workout, and that just completely backfired. I've done this enough times now that the lesson learned here is that I cannot allow myself to relax after work and certainly I cannot recline at all because within minutes, I will apparently just pass right out. WTheck?! If it happens occasionally, it's not a big deal, but when I'm operating on bare-bones workouts, which I have been doing for the past two weeks, I'm NOT pleased with myself about it.

Today will be a run of 8-10, yoga, perhaps weights of some kind, AND better eating. Today I wanna be Carole. :)

Have a great Tuesday, everyone!

Morning Cheetahs.

Cathy: Sorry you snoozed through your work out y'day. My mom always said she won't sit down and relax right after work or she'll never get back up to cook dinner and whatever housework might need to get done. I wanna be Carole too. :)

Gloria: Glad you are feeling refreshed despite going to bed a bit late. The DM premix I did y'day was tough but fun. I really enjoyed it. Good job with your run y'day!

Judy: Your dinner last night sounded yummy. Hope you enjoyed it.

Carole: Perhaps you could bring an EXTRA LONG whip to Chicago? ;) Doin' the rain dance for ya! Glad your mom is doing well. Sorry John had to have surgery. Hope his recovery is progressing well.

Karen: The new chip sounds cool. I have only done a couple of chipped races but they always went by gun time at the start. There were no mats at the starting line. Stinks, I know but what can ya do? I hope they have mats at the start of your race.

Linda: Don't feel bad complaining about your TM. It's a big purchase so when something goes wrong I'm sure it's frustrating. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Posh: Glad you had a blast at the wedding. Looking forward to the pics you took!

Today's work out will be a TM run after work. Knee seems to be OKAY now. :)

BBL!

Happy Tuesday Cheetahs!

Wendy – Well, I’m with you. I love eating out, too, as it means that I don’t have to cook. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the insoles working! So sorry about the problems you’re having with BB and UPS. That’s ridiculous. Good job on the new purchases!

Cathy – thanks for the support! That house is hysterical. The first time I saw it I turned to Ved and said, “Are you serious?” It’s huge, and has a multi million dollar view. Amazing what people will build. I LOVE your little emoticons for the day! Too freaking cute! I think today we all want to be Carole :D

Judy – I think cycling is easier on the body so it’s easier to ride further, more often. What I do is considered more like going out and running 7-10 miles on the weekend. Hard, but not the hardest. :p But thanks! Your meal sounds delish!

Carole – sorry to hear about John’s infection! That has to be tough! Glad mom is doing well! I am so happy for you that you are at goal weight! You must be thrilled! I’m with you – I would love to see some rain, even if it means an indoor ride on Saturday.

Karen – Oh, I love that timing chip idea! You’ll probably cross something that will tell you the time (splits as well – most races do). You’re fine with where you put yourself. I’ve run races like that (the Rock N Roll Half has 15,000). The holding pens spread out the runners.

Gloria – I know the feeling about being too tired and not feeling like working out – that’s my every morning! Every time I manage to drag myself out there, it’s a minor victory! Good job at getting out there and running 3 miles yesterday! I’m feeling good today, too.

Linda – I think those TM rules are crazy. In our clubs it’s a 30 minute time limit if there are people waiting. How fun to learn that I’ll be worrying about DD15 for the rest of her life (although I knew that, really!). ;) Hope the TM gets fixed really soon!!!

Thomasina – hope Smokey is better! Sounds like a wonderful wedding!! And yes, the Silverado Trail is stunning. It would definitely be an incredible run!

Today is Leaner Legs, CTX Back and abs. It’s the last day of the quarter, so it’ll be madness and mayhem! Fun times. We just heard from a friend that he was laid off, and there are rumors of lay-offs at my company. I think we’re living in some interesting times. Oh well, this too shall pass. Hopefully soon!

Good morning cheetahs

Gloria..thanks, it really is a great feeling to get to my goal..:). Good job with the 3 miler yesterday. Have fun with BC today.

Cathy...Love all the smileys! And your title is so sweet...:D...Thanks re: my Mom. I hope to get in to see John at some point this week. I will let you know how he is doing. This surgery was inevitable. I can't wait to hang out again either. Chicago will be so fun!!! Thanks too for the rain vibes...Sorry you snoozed and missed your workout last night, but at least it is during the taper and not your intense training and you missed a crucial run. This is a good time for your body to rest. Enjoy a good run, yoga, maybe some weights and I will send you good eating vibes.

Wendy...Sounds like a good deal on the new workouts. I will look into the extra long whip! Thanks re: my Mom. John's surgery was inevitable. I hope to get in to see him this week. Glad your knee is better. Enjoy your TM run.

Christine...as I told Cathy, John's surgery was inevitable. When I see him I will let you know how he is doing. Thanks re: my Mom. I am thrilled about my weight, now the hard part to keep it here! But I know keeping with the nutrition program and upping the cals a bit should do the trick...:D..I sure would not mind running a long one in the rain on sunday..Have fun with Meaner Legs, CTX back and abs. I sure hope the financial mess ends soon. It makes people nuts!!

Karen...thanks for your kind words...:)...I have done some runs with many people. I think the San Jose marathon might have had 20,000. It can be overwhelming but it is fun! I have used a few different chips on my shoes. They are great and very accurate. I never worry about how they work, they just do!! That good thing is the ones you have are disposable.

Linda...That is crazy about the 30 min rule at the health club, I wonder if they are all like that? I will keep my fingers crossed that your TM will work this morning!

Posh...You NEED to do Napa too!!! Who cares about the time, run it for the fun!! I have done it twice and would love to see the pics you have taken this weekend. Thanks so much re: my weight goal...:)

Today is pyramid legwork, and 40 min on my EXT.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning! I am a happy Cheetah this morning! My treadmill let me run this morning and acted like nothing was ever wrong! I am still going to tell them and ask them to find out what was wrong, so it won’t happen again.

Gloria – Glad you are feeling refreshed today! That is always good! :) Enjoy BootCamp! Gave a good day today!

Cathy – When my hip was bothering me so much, my Chiropractor told me to put the heating pad on it, or turn my heated seats on in my vehicle on the way to run before I started to run. He said that will soften the muscle up and then, of course, start jogging (or walking…whichever you do to warm up). That helped a lot! I like your idea about the heat before rolling, too! LOL…I thought of that song as I typed that last night, too!!! I agree, Dennis wasn’t fat! Enjoy your run and yoga!! Yep! I wanna be Carole today, too:) I was doing pretty good until yesterday!! But the stress finally got to me and I ate everything in sight!

Posh – I hope everything goes well with your horse and that the tests are all okay. LOL…I am very tempted to sign up for Napa! I think I will wait and see how I do in Nov. first, though! I have been there before and I loved it! It is wonderful! Yes, please post pics! I hope when I am able to make up my mind, it isn’t already full !! I am sure you won’t end up running like Dennis in the movie! But…hmmm…I may :) Scary thought! Nah….we’ll be fine! )

Wendy – Enjoy your run after work! I am glad your knee is feeling better! Thanks for your kind words regarding my rant about my TM!

Christine – LOL….I am sorry….it is still a good thing, though! (regarding our girls)! Cause you will just become better and better friends and they will be your best friends for life :) I think those TM rules are silly, too. I guess, though, if it is crowded with a line …it would be a good thing. Yes, times are absolutely crazy. I hope you don’t get laid off! My oldest DD was offered a buy-out package this week. If she doesn’t take it, she will be relocated to sales. She is not quite sure what to do. She would like the new job….but if there aren’t enough positions for everyone in her office….some will be out of luck and probably laid off. Scary times :( We were talking about the GymBoss the other day....did you know our iPhones have an interval timer and a stop watch on them? I used mine the other day when I forgot my Garmin and Gymboss! I also used it for my music. Pretty handy gadget!

Carole – I think all of the clubs that I have ever been in have the same rule. Of course, I guess if there is nobody in there, you could stay on it. But they are always so crowded when I have been in there! Yes, it is crazy! Knock on wood, my TM worked this morning! Yay!!! Enjoy your Pyramid legwork and EXT! I feel like I am stalking your workouts! I did Bodymax 2 U/B today…..you did it yesterday.

This morning was a 6 mile treadmill (yes! TM run!!! :) ) and BodyMax 2 U/B.

Hey to everyone and hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Linda

Karen - Your half looks great! It says the half is full. Is the full mary full, too? I love Baltimore! I have only been there once, but it looks like it would be a great place for a marathon!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Shelly - Glad you enjoyed your 16 miles yesterday! Maybe that dog went to play with some other unsuspecting runner. :) Get the painting all finished?

Karen - Glad your mom is doing good. Yes, will keep her in prayer. The big crowd sounds overwhelming at the big races to me too. I think 600 is about the biggest number I've participated in. Haven't heard of the D tag but have raced once with a chip. Starts timing once you cross the start line.

Carole - Congratulations on making your weight goal!! Woo Hoo!! Hope John is better. Hope you get some rain. We haven't had much at all the whole summer. I got tired of watering plants. One of my small trees I planted is showing life and I thought it was dead. Guess the little watering I did helped it. Enjoy your leg work and EXT workout.

Linda - Yes, I FF through the cardio sections of CBS. It is a Firm workout and it's not chaptered. Wonder if they will ever make any workouts with chapters. Would make things so much easier. Hope you got some answers on your treadmill. DD told me hers died on her. Said something fell out. Mine has started making some squeaky noises where the incline is. My 3 year warranty ran out in May and I didn't renew. Just didn't have the $150 bucks to spend at the time. Tech told me I could renew anytime and then call for service. But, he wasn't supposed to tell me that. LOL!! May have to look into it. Glad your treadmill allowed you to get a run in this morning. Don't know what I would do without mine either.

Christine - Glad you found the motivation for your workout yesterday. Sometimes all it takes is to just get moving, huh? Enjoy LL & CTX Back and Abs. Think we will be looking at a lot of buyouts if people are willing to take them. They're offering early outs here but no incentives. Are they crazy? Even people that were thinking of retiring are rethinking their options.

Wendy - If the insoles work, I'd say just hold on to the other pair of shoes since you've already paid for them. You'll always have some in waiting.

Cathy - I got everything done Friday that I needed to get done. The FY ends today. Love all the smileys you used today. :D Sorry you didn't get that workout in last night but hope you can get one in today. You can't help if the body needs some extra rest.

Judy - The leaves have started turning and they are really pretty. That is until they start falling in the yard. And, you know that means extra work. Love going up toward Nashville this time of year and it's a sight to behold. Nice dinner. I'll have to try some BBQ tempeh.

Gloria - DBF and I ended up ordering pizza and staying in Saturday night and just watching some tv. I was glad because by 8:00 I could hardly keep my eyes open. Hope you can get some rest in there somewhere and get some good runs in. Enjoy BC today.

Posh - Hope your horse is better. Glad you had a fun weekend!

Today's workout was iTread #13 45 minutes. Got in 4 miles and the rest was stretching. Did 4DS Chest & Back too.

Gotta get to work. Need to get to the hairdresser today.

Have a terrific day!

Jackie - Anna is selling some of the Classics on DVD that are chaptered now! I haven't ordered any, but I may. I really wish the Transfirmer ones were chaptered! I actually liked those a lot, too. Oh dear! Your poor DD! That would be bad having something actually fall out! HOpe yours doesn't mess up to where you can't use it! That was good of that tech to tell you that! That is good to know! Good job on your iTread and 4DS!

Linda

Carole – Yes, people do go nuts with the financial mess. Everyone is running around blaming everyone else and nothing is getting done. Lovely. I’m looking forward to hearing about John. I did Meaner Legs – not sure if one could call it FUN, but it’s done. :p

Linda – YAY On the treadmill! Glad you were able to run! I’m so lucky to have a daughter, especially one like DD15. She’s just so sweet, smart and silly. :p I doubt I’m in danger of getting laid off the first round or so, but it would probably mean much more work. Oh, well, that I can handle. Oh man, sorry to hear about your daughter. I’d tell her to take the sales job and if she is not comfortable, start looking. A job in hand is a better bet in these times. I knew my phone had a timer on it, but was unaware of the interval! I’ll have to check that out! It is a handy little gadget!

Jackie – Yes, I think sometimes it simply takes getting up off the ole tail end and moving. That’s one reason I do try to follow a weekly rotation – if I know what I’m doing, I tend to just get up and do it without really thinking. That’s a really good thing when LL is on the rotation! Ouch! That’s insane! I know several people who have retired and are now forced back to work. It’s scary. People are talking about the government regulating our retirement funds. Um, they don’t do too well with what they regulate, so why would I want that? I’d rather have the companies who do that be held to higher accountability standards. Oh well…

Well, Meaner, er ah Leaner Legs is done. Holy OUCH Batman! I had to go wake up DD15 right afterwards and walking up the stairs was a challenge. :eek:I’m going to need some fast spinning tomorrow to spin that soreness off! YEAH! I followed it with CTX Back and then All Step Abs. Good little workout. I’m sooo ready for a nap! Have a fabulous day all!

Hi Cheetahs

Quickie post here. Dinner needs to be made early before I start the afternoon taxiing run. I will get it done. The BBQ tempeh was delish! I started with plain tempeh and then used my own homemade BBQ sauce to simmer it in.

Workouts will be slightly different from her on out. I decided ( since i am doingwell ***knock on wood*** with PF recovery) to slowly build up my base miles. Taking a cue from Carole yesterday, I did not do legs today. Monday will by my long run day. So today was 3 miles on the TM with iTread #3 first 30 minutes. Then CTX back chest and abs. tomorrow will be legs and yoga class.

Shoot I just sawthe clock! time to cook.

Hey Cheetahs.

I did Itread 5/40 mins today after work. The back of my knee was bothering me when I would slow down to a walk but it didn't seem to bother me while I was running. After a few mins of stretching at the end of my work out I really didn't feel anything at all. I'm fine now! I'm quite confused and don't know what to do about tmrw's planned 15-16 miler. If I push it off to this weekend then it'll only be a week out from the race and I don't think that's such a good idea! It seems though that the fast running is what's causing the problems. Tomorrow will undoubtedly be a slow pace so perhaps I should just give it a shot? I might very well be fine! What do you all think??

Well, time to get Joey up for his nap. I have some cleaning to do while he's resting and then his teachers are coming to visit him here at home at 5pm. As soon as they leave Joey and I heading up to my mom's for dinner since DH is subbing on a bowling league tonight.

"No time for down time" today!;)

I'll catch up with personals later on or in the morning!

Ciao Bellas!:)

Judy - enjoy your afternoon of taxiing. I think of you and Barb (remember her?) whenever I start to complain about Taxiing DD15 around. Fortunately all of DD15's activities are close and bikable.

Wendy - Glad to hear your knee isn't too bad now!!! Enjoy your busy day!

I GOT THE TICKETS!!! We are Lower Row, in Row 3!!! Right on the endzone. Should be totally cool. I'm very excited!!

Last time I bought a new pair of running shoes, I bought a second pair right away. Broke 'em out today. Achilles & ham didn't protest a bit. Yay! But wouldn't you know, the run was hell, anyway. Of all things, sidestitches and a bad belly. What gives here already?? *lol* I actually had to laugh—as I was shuffling along nearly doubled over. :) Admittedly, I cut it short (3.5) and will just have to be happy with that. Somehow I just don't feel right today. *shrugs* I think I may be fighting off a hint of a bug—which might account for the tiredness of late. At any rate, I now have to go look into how many calories are in a gnat since I swallowed about 1,000 en route. Yuk! *lol* Oh, and I also spotted three deer, which was pretty cool.

Christine—I'm happy to support a great cause! Sorry I didn't fill out the form right! :) So, any truth to the rumors at your company? Scary times indeed. Have been reading w/ interest the political threads on the OD but am holding my tongue. Liked your comments. Congrats on scoring such awesome seats!

Carole—thanks for making me feel better about being a sloth! I do need those vibes. Hope you enjoyed legs & EXT.

Jackie—must be a relief to have that behind you now. Hope you enjoyed your hair appt. I might be a weirdo, but I find it relaxing to have my hair done.

Linda—yay that the treadmill gods were smiling upon you this morning! You don't need that thing goin' kaput on you the month before your mary! My chiro also advocates heat. I like it, but I guess I need to watch the sleepiness factor!...Very cool about your iPhones.

Judy—glad the PF is being held at bay.

Wendy—If the knee feels OK in the AM, I would try for your long run tomorrow and if it bothers you, perhaps make the decision mid-run to cut it short. Good luck! I hope we get these issues of ours sorted out!

OK, time to get showered up and then get into yoga mode. Have a great night, all! :)

Cathy - sorry, but I had to laugh at you talking about fighting off a bug and swallowing 1,000 gnats - are those the bugs you're fighting off? :p Every time I accidently (ick) swallow a bug I said, "Yum, protein". Makes me feel better about swallowing something pretty repulsive. Oh man, I wish I could stay off those political threads. I keep revisiting them like someone compelled to watch a train wreck... We won't about the truth the the rumors at my company until later. We'll see.

Do any of you remember this? I had to laugh - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agrxEe9JVjA

Ok, setteling in after a long day of speaking about the election with the girls. I made them made camaign posters to see who would be class president for the week. Then I thought what a bad idea becasue now I have to choose one. Ultimately I"m going to pick a name out of a hat.

Gloria- Hope you have a great day ( that's almost over) and workout.

Cathy- Better eating is going to be my motto these next two weeks. I have such trouble over the weekends. This week I'm going to do my best. Sorry your getting a hint of a bug. Please take it easy, you done such hard work. As for a gnat. I don't know the caloric intake on them but I'm sure they are good for protein.:p

Wendy- Fast running is what does it to me. That is how I hurt my calf and my knees. That being said I'm going to do speedwork tomorrow like a moron. So you can cuss me later when I'm complaining about running to fast. I see you got the OD marathon in your sights. I was looking at it just last night. I loved every bit of the 10 miler I did. I got to go over two bridges and it was beautiful but so cold and windy the day I ran. Running the boardwalk was torture in the wind not to mention the bridges but I would do it again in a heartbeat. If you look at the 2006 results you can see my name somewhere.

Christine-Sorry to hear of the lay offs in your company. I hope it does not effect you one bit. It really is hard times out there. I feel so bad for people who lose there job. Great job on the workout.

Linda- TM is working HUH!!! I'm very happy for you. Now you can train the way we know how.:) The marathon has 50 spots left the last time they sent out an eamil. So basicaly it is almost a goner. They were having issues with people on the waitlist for the half signing up to do the full with the intent to run only half and they sent out a warning about disqualifying them if they found out and not allowing them in future races.

Jackie- How did the hairdressers go. Did you get somthing new or just a trim. I have long hair and pretty much a ponytail girl,

Judy- Carole's advice is best. Start out slow and you'll finish like a champ.

Carole- I was reading they are expecting about 25,000 spectators not to mention the 20,000 in the race. For a first half I think i could not have picked a more never wracking one.'

Workout today was 60 min total body. Saving my mojo for tomorrows speedwork.

Evening Cheetahs!

Linda - I don't do the Classics enough to buy the DVD. But, it's good they're chaptered.

Christine - Yeah, I have to have a rotation. I can't be thinking at 4:00 in the morning what workout to do. Saves time too. Can you imagine retiring and having to become a Wal-Mart greeter? I'm sure it's good for a little extra cash. I can retire next year but there's no way no how especially with all this mess going on. Good thing I'm in a home I plan on being in for the rest of my life because I sure couldn't sell it for a good price. How are the legs? I don't have Meaner Legs but I've sure heard a lot about it. Congrats on getting some great tickets!

Judy - Glad the PF is behaving. Your plan sounds good.

Wendy - Glad the knee if feeling better. Think you should go ahead with the long run tomorrow. Then you'll know how the knee does in the new shoes. Enjoy dinner at your mom's.

Cathy - Sorry your run didn't go well. Feel better. LOL at your gnat calorie count. :D You can go on Survivor now. :D Actually, I dread going to my hair appt. because my hairdresser overbooks and most of the time she isn't on time. I've started calling her to see what time she'll arrive so that I don't have to wait. I like being the first client but she will schedule another person at the same time. If she weren't my cousing and really good, I probably wouldn't go. Saying all that, I don't mind having my head massaged one bit.

Karen - Nice to teach the girls the election process. Glad you have a democratic way of choosing. :D Just a wash, blow dry and curl for me. I'm a ponytail girl on bad hair days too. Good luck with the speedwork tomorrow.

Have a good night!

Hi Cheetahs. I am going to try and catch up with personals. I know in the morning I won't have the time to do it and get a workout in. :)

Cathy: We work on the scoring at our weekly staff meetings. Our district has said no school days with subs for work like that. It is too expensive. We can stay after school and they will pay us a smaller amount to do the work. Our common assessments are due on Oct. 15th and, as you know, I have an obligation everyday after school except Friday. We will have to figure it out. Sorry you were having issues today. At least you got something in. :)

Wendy: I am glad your knee is doing well. I just ordered a new pair of shoes tonight. Not the color I wanted, but at least it was a good price.

Christine: Are you in danger of being laid off? I am in a tizzy with all this that is going on with our country. You are right, it will pass. :) Leaner legs sounds like something I need! :)

Carole: Hope you had a nice workout! :) What surgery is your friend John facing? I am sorry if I missed it in an earlier post.

Linda: So how many years before you retire to MT? Glad the treadmill issue is not a problem. :)

Jackie: Your night sounds nice and relaxing with DBF!

Karen: I did have a great day. For once I don't have something to complain about! LOL! :)

Did the original BC this morning. Tomorrow will be an itread. Personals are short and sweet. Just wanted to say hey to all you wonderful gals! Take care!

another quick one from me...

Hiya Cheetahs!

My apologies again for lack of personals and posting the Silverado Trail pics today, but I just simply have run out of time! Had a full day and just got home an hour ago...It's nearly 10:30 PST and I must get to bed as I have to be up and out early tomorrow. I will more than likely be able to have a few minutes tomorrow evening to get the pics off my blackberry and post some personals. YOuse gals are the best though!

Thanks again for all the kinds wishes for our horse. STILL no word from the Vet today re: the test...hmmm... Must be because it was sent to UC Davis but geeez, I'm a ball of nerves here :(... DH is going to call her office in the AM to follow up...

Ok, off to sleep for me....ya'll have a fabulous Wednesday!

Posh

P.S. - Yeah, Carole I'm seriously considering Napa...Of course I'd do it for fun like I am Chicago but really, seriously, I am very, very slow these days...so if I sign up, it's gonna be some serious training here...lol....Also, it appears we may be able to sway Mizzz Cathy in the direction as well...uh, chuckled to my selves when i read her post she was already thinking about the next marathon....lol, she's addicted!
