Good morning, cheetahs :)

I need to be up early so I can bang out the paper I started last night and still make the matinee with my mom. *Uses best Homer Simpson voice* Mmm, popcorn!!

It's back to adhering to my rotation this week, so today'll be BC.

To catch up with last night's posts...

Karen :: I love the Global Bazaar -- good buys!

Laura :: yes, I caved in...I will be really curious to see what you think of Bar Method...Like I said, I'd have liked them to be a little tougher, but that being said, I *do* feel it. I don't have DOMS today, but I felt a different kind of fatigue in my legs afterward. I think the key with these workouts will be to use them truly as an add-on. I did them solo, and it's just not enough. But I can see doing this AFTER a run would be an even better burn...Glad you like your new TaeBos! I might have to give those a look...I am seeing progress in my legs/glute area, and I attribute that to running *and* kickboxing (if it weren't winter, I'd probably be doing *all* running and I think it's been good to work the legs differently) and doing the legs 2x per week.

Christine :: Nice that you scored PP/SS!! eBay can be fun and strangely addicting.

OK, ladies ~ have a great day...I'll be dropping back in when I can!

Cathy :)

Yoo-hoo, cheetahs! Where is everyone this morning?

Just droppin' in while I print off a long article I'll be citing in my paper.

OK, back to work...

I'm up now. I had a rough night sleeping. My one daughter came into our room last night and scared the crap out of me. All of a sudden I hear Mom Mom and she is standing right over me. I swear i jumped 10 feet. She couldn't find her bear in her bed. So at 3:30 I had to find it. 30 min later she had to pee. So it was not a good nights sleep. I'm off to run my 9 miles on the treadmill. Murphy's Romance is on HBO. I think I will watch that. I like that movie and haven't seen it in a long time.

Good morning! Wow, sleepy slow cheetahs this morning! Getting ready to head home soon after a busy nights work, but I have a few nights off now:) After napping I'll get in a 6-7 mile run. Later it'll be fun with PUB:7

Karen- 9 miles on the TM:eek: At least you'll have a good movie to watch, that should help!

Good morning Cathy! getting caught up?

Duty calls, I meant to do some personals from yesterday:( Ah well,
I should be able to check back later for a cheetahfix!

Later,

ShellyC

Hey all, I would send a big salute out to Judy for the PP/SS upperbody mix but it hurts too much to get my arm up that far:+ My fingers are the only part of me from the shoulder girdle down that aren't buzzing with DOMS. That's a keeper for sure! Thanks Judy! Yesterday was wonderful, Faith's team did well (she was the BEST!;-) ) They came in 3rd in their division of 5 so they know what they have to do for Nationals in May. She had so much fun and seeing her with her squad chokes me right up. I sat on my butt for too many hours yesterday so I'm thinking B&G or L&G should do the trick this morning. I think I'll go for IMAX3 for cardio for another good kick at the can:)

Cathy, congratulations on your Fluidity purchase, great investment! Enjoy your movie (and popcorn:9) with your Mom, what movie will you see? I'll look for your e-mail:)

Karen, too bad about your sleep last night. I remember those day and the fact that you can only fall back asleep so many times in a night. Especially after the adrenaline rush of having the crap scared out of you at 3:30. Enjoy your run and movie!

Shelley, welcome:) Have you checked out the Running Room? They'll have a list of events from all across Ontario. You don't have to join any of their clinics and they're always happy to help us find the next challenge. A lot of people I ran with last fall are running Mississauga on May 12 'cause it's an 'easy' flat course. Good luck finding your event.

Happy Sunday Cheetahs, chat later :)

Take Care
Laurie

Hi Shelly! Have fun with PUB!:)

Morning Cheetahs!

It's a sunny cold Sunday morning here.

Cathy - what movie are you going to see at the matinee? I LOVE movie popcorn:)

Karen - oh, I hate those kinds of nights. Good luck on your 9 miles and enjoy the movie.

I'm hoping to have a quiet day today. Yesterday was a lot of running around. And eating way too much food! I'm doing PUB later. I've learned to do the abs first on that one, otherwise my arms are too fried to hold me up for all those pikes!

Have a great day!

Hi Laurie - I did check out the Running Room site. Unfortunately, Mississauga is on the 13th, not the 12th, which is Mother's Day. It was the one I was originally going to run, but I have Sophie that weekend, and since I'm already missing half her life, I'd rather not take the better part of a day of our time together away. There are some 10s in Burlington that I'm going to run. I'm sure I'll find a half. I'd love to do the Ottawa one at the end of May, but we'll see:)

Good Morning Cheetahs!:)

The party was fun. Unofortunately for my poor sister, she did all of this work and cooking to get ready for it only for most of the guests to cancel at the last minute! ACK! Between the night prior to the party and the morning of, more then 1/2 of the guests that were supposed to come called and cancelled for one reason or another. :-( So needless to say the party was much smaller then it normally is but it was nice. Not so crazy that way. By the time we got home last night it was about 9pm and I was wiped. I basically headed straight for bed.

At some point this morning DH and I are going to the gym. I'll run-hoping for a 5 miler-and then tonight I want to get in the yoga I missed last week. Tomorrow it's back to the rotation as planned. :) My butt is all sore from L&B the other day! OMG! It really freakin' hurts! LOL

DH and I also have some housework to do. We are using part of today to get the house a little more sale ready. Wish us luck. I am still very uneasy about putting our house up for sale. I don't want to be disappointed when no one comes to see it or when we can't get what need for it in order to make a move. I guess I'll have to grin and bare it or I'll never know, will I?

Cathy: Have fun at the movies and w/BC tomorrow!

Karen: Sorry for your cr@ppy night. I hope you had a good run this morning to energize you. }(

Laurie: So you have big time DOMS from Judy's u/b work out? Sounds like a goodie! }( Enjoy the pain girl!:p

Shelley: Have fun with PUB. I'm surprised to hear that you also do the ab work first on that one. I kind of expected to do it as is...I am thinking you could handle it!

Okay, I'm outta here for now...I'll be back later.

Good morning everyone!

Cathy - **gasp**! You caved!!! (Just kidding!). I think you will like it a lot! It is very sturdy. All of this talk about it is making me want to start doing mine again...but I have to figure out how to fit it in. :-( I love movie popcorn, too! Have fun at the movie!

Shelly - Hi there! Glad to see you here! I am not really sure of a race that I will be doing here, either! So I just run and when I see one that tickles my fancy, hopefully, I will be able to do it! ;-)

Karen - Enjoy your 9 miler and movie! Sorry you didn't get much sleep :-(

Shelly - Enjoy your (well-deserved) few nights off and your run!

Laurie - That is great about the cheerleading comp.! That is so exciting to watch your children do something like that! I think I may join ya with Imax 3 today!

I didn't run yesterday. I decided to do a step workout. It seems like forever since I have done one! I did Cardio Fusion (just the step portions) and the total body workout from Barry's Bootcamp.

Today...I am planning Imax 3 (after seeing Laurie's plan...it got me wanting to do that ;) ) I may do some one of Barry's weight sections with it. Anyway.....hi to everyone that checks in later!! I'll try to be back later!

Linda

;)

Wendy - We must have been posting at the same time! Glad the party was fun! I feel sorry for your sister, though! That is a lot of work to have 1/2 not show! Enjoy your gym workout with DH and run!

Linda

Hi Gang:

I have DOMS from KenpoX like you wouldn't believe }( }( }( Great workout and WOW can I feel it! LOVIN' IT!!!!! :)

Today is a scheduled rest day, but if the weather is nice like it is suppose to be I want to get out a run a little and get back into the swing of it now that the temps are above zero again.

I took my measurements, so we'll see what P90X does more me after this first phase.

Gayle - THANKS AGAIN for letting me borrow this incredible system, I'm lovin' it more than I could've imaged. :* :*

I'll be back,
Marcia.

morning all,

cathy you will have to let me know how you like fluidity when you get it. I am trying to hold out.

marcia- goodluck with p90x. I have it and just cant keep to a rotation yet.

wendy- have fun with your run.

today I am planning on doing the leg premix of butts and gutts since so many people said it was a good one. I did one total body this week and then split the second for each body part up this week as well as what I got from bootcamp class on monday.

chat with you all later!

Linda- Great work out y'day! I'm on the fence about Barry! Enable me please!}( }( }(

Marcia- I am sooo glad that you are lovin the X! All of the X haters were beginning to make me think I am wierd for liking it! LOL
Glad to hear you finally took measurements. I'll be excited to hear about the results at the end of phase 1. :)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I did the first 24 min of KPC and then added the kicking & punching drills from Kickmax. It was fun. I didn't make it to the show. Hope you enjoy the matinée with your Mom today. Have fun with BC.

Karen...wow...nice of your DD to wake you up!! I am glad you found her bear...:)..enjoy your 9 mile TM run.

Shelly...have a good run and fun with PUB.

Laurie...that is great about Faith and the competition! Enjoy your lower body workout and the killer Imax3.

Shelley...do you have a Heart Rate Monitor? If you do intervals should be done in the 4th and 5th zone to make you faster. And don't do these workouts more than twice a week. I know a nice half in Cali...:)...May 6th. have fun with the pikes in PUB...since you are the pike queen...:)

Wendy...good luck with getting your house Sale ready! Have fun at the gym...

Linda...have fun with Imax3. CF is a fun one, one you learn most of the moves...:)

Marcia...glad you liked Kenpo. It is great to have some DOMS!

Judy..no dinner date last night, but DH did get me some more veggie pizza...:)...good job on Imax3. It kicked my butt a couple of weeks ago...

Jess...way to go with 3 miles and no pain!!!

Christine...sounds like you and your DH had fun at the Tennis match. It was gorgeous here too and up to about 79.

Susan...good job not overeating at Chevy's. Hope you enjoyed B&G and the EXT.

Tomasina...hope your sinus is better today. Carrot cake is the only cake I like. And this lady is one amazing cook.

Well, today will be a run. I hope about 10 miles but we will see how the glute/ham feels. I might have to cancel the 10 miler on March 3rd if I still have pain. I am looking at a half in May. Check it out Cali girls!!

Have a great day...:)

Good morning everybody! Count me in as a sleepy-head Cheetah! Today is a rest day....no doubt about it! It's been 9 days since my last one, and after our snow tubing excursion yesterday, I'm sidelined today! There was a family there with us and the dad decided it would be fun to make the LITTLE ramp that someone else made BIGGER. Well, my best friend (also named Gail, but spelled differently) and I thought we'd try it out! HA HA HA! Joke is on US! Gail went down fine, getting some good air. I went down, lost complete control of the tube and landed flat on my tail bone! OUCH! I was almost in tears and my first thought honestly was that I thought I was done running. It hurt SO BADLY that it took the wind out of me. I did walk it off, but it hurt last night just to sit on the couch. I had to lean to one side. Slept thru the night, and although it's a bit tender today, I feel much better than I expected! I am NOT getting too old to snow tube! LOL. So, long story short, I need a DOR today. Tomorrow, I'm kicking it back up with Cardio Fusion.

OK....after my long story, I don't have time for personals! Sorry. I've got a double batch of homemade brownies in the oven. We're getting set for The Daytona 500 this afternoon. And yes....I'm splurging a bit on the food today, planned! LOL

Have an awesome Sunday! See you all later!

Gayle

Grr, my BC DVD is shot x( ;( - it was fritzin' out on me that last few times I did it, but now it's completely unusable. I was only able to get halfway through. Lesson learned: I won't be buying any more DVDs through eBay.

I'm gonna get showered and head off to see Music and Lyrics. I think a nice mental escape is in order.

I'll be back for personals later...and will try to come up with a Part II workout for today.

BBL!
Cathy :)

Good Morning all!

Couldn’t sleep (fell asleep on the sofa last night at 8PM!) so I’m up and the dogs are walked, the laundry started and I’m sitting here sipping tea. I was totally bad last night – hamburger and fries. I sometimes get cravings for those! First one in about six months, though. So, I need a great workout today. I’m not sure if I’m going to be dragged to the gym or not. If so, I’ll do a 30 minute run followed by a spin workout. If I’m at home, I’ll do the KB premix Wendy put together but I might sub PUB for Cardio and Weights – still thinking this one through. This afternoon I managed to get 4 tickets to the SAP Tennis finals – although I was bummed that Andy Roddick was eliminated  Oh well, we’re taking friends who will really enjoy the treat of the skybox. They've had some really rough times - he was out of work for about 3 years and she started a daycare to bring in some extra money - he finally got a job and they are just now getting back on their feet. I’ll have a good time anyway, even though I can’t drool over an adorable 24 year old (okay – he’s almost ½ my age – so maybe that’s a good thing!) LOL.

Cathy – have fun at the matinee!! How fun! I love movie popcorn! Congrats on Fluidity – let us know what you think! Sorry to hear your BC DVD is shot! Not a good thing to hear after my purchase last night… :(

Karen – oh, my DD has done that before! And it takes everything I have not to snap at her because I HATE being scared like that. Poor thing… Enjoy your run!

Shelly – Enjoy your nap and your 6-7 mile run. Sorry to hear your sleepy and slow. Hope work ends well.

Laurie – Oh goodie!! I just won PP/SS on eBay. I’m very excited to do that premix!! Glad to hear Faith’s team did well, and of course she was the Best!!! She’s the daughter of a Cheetah!!

Shelley – I do the abs first as well on PUB. I actually do abs first a lot of times as I tend to find excuses to skip them if I don’t! Have fun! Sounds like a PUB day today, actually – you, me and Shelly.

Wendy – oh how awful for your sister!! I HATE when that happens as you already bought all the food and stuff. L&B what’s that? Good luck with the house!!

Linda – Isn’t it funny how we can hear something on these boards, and decide “Oh, that’s what I want to do!” workout wise? Have fun with Imax3

Marcia – I love KenpoX – it really works the lats if you do it right – sounds like you did it right! Glad to hear you’re enjoying P90X!

Laura – Enjoy the Leg Blast premix of B&G – I’d love to hear what you think afterwards!

Carole – the temps were crazy yesterday weren’t they? I so enjoyed the day! And good luck with your run! I’ll be thinking of you. Hope the leg is all healed.

Gayle – Oh, I’m so sorry to hear about your tubing accident! That must have hurt! Glad to hear you’re better though. Enjoy the Daytona 500!

Waves hello to all who follow!!

I'm back! ;) I did Imax3 and Barry's BC B&S. It was a great workout! Thanks, Laurie for putting the Imax3 idea into my head!

Christine - That is funny how when I read what someone else is doing, it makes clicks and makes me want to do it! Wow...that is a great workout that you have planned! Have fun with it! Yu have been busy this morning, already! Have fun at the tennis finals! sounds great! I'll bet your friends will love it and appreciate it!

Wendy - I really think you would love Barry's Bootcamp! I really do! There are a lot of different ways you can use it! Today I used CAthe's cardio (Imax3) and the weight section. Or...you can use the one of the 30 minute treadmill runs and a weight section, OR the non treadmill cardio and a weight section....OR both the non-treadmill AND the treadmill portion AND a weight section..... :7 Am I enabling yet}( Seriously, though...I am really tickled to death with it, so far!

Gail - Oh my goodness! You poor thing! That sounds very painful! I hope it doesn't bother you for very long! Enjoy your well deserved rest day! 9 days without a rest day is a long time! Enjoy the 500 and the BROWNIES! Yummy!!!

Carole - Enjoy the run! Hope your glute and hamstring cooperates!

Laura - Enjoy the premix of B&Gs! I still have not done that particular premix yet! Let us know what you think of it!

Well, I have to go hop in the shower, I am sooo sweaty, but now I am freezing since I have cooled down!

Linda

I'm back after a great Sunday morning kick butt workout. It only took me, what?, 2 years to learn to love IMAX3. I really like this workout now! I finished with the B&G Standing Glutes and Abs premix. It was a good follow up as there was lots of cardio factor in the premix and it woke my butt up from too many hours in the car and bleachers yesterday.

Shelley, the Ottawa event was brutal last May, (a few of my clients ran it). They trained in the cold for months and got slammed with a crazy, hot, humid day. Funny though, despite the misery of doing it, no-one regretted it.

Wendy, I feel bad for your sister, it's disappointing to get a rush of last minute cancellations when you've worked hard to plan and prepare. Glad everyone had a good time though, sometimes smaller is better too, more one on one time. Good luck with spiffing your place up to put it on the market. It's such a stressful time but change always is. Hope you can bust some of the stress at the gym!:)

Linda, so..were you my IMAX3 buddy today?:) Cardiofusion is a blast too, I am such a step geek!

Marcia, enjoy that DOMS, you worked hard for it! Wow, temps above freezing, nice break! It's deceiving here, bright and sunny but brrrrrrrr....x(

Laura, I really enjoyed the B&G premix I did today, isn't it fabulous to have had these workouts for a few months and still be able to find new ways to 'enjoy' them!

Carole, this 'Canuck Girl' checked out your link, 'giant trees and river valleys' what a beautiful run, temps in the 60 and 70's sounds perfect. Hope your testy hammies let you run your 10 miles!

Gayle, OUCHx( You took quite the hit! What a trooper though, Cardiofusion is a toughie. I hope your rest day calms your poor tailbone. I'm just going to sit here and contemplate for a moment.....'double batch of brownies' mmmmmmmmmmm....:9

Cathy, that sucks about your BC DVD! So frustrating!! Music and Lyrics should be a good one, I love Drew Barrymore.

Christine, Andy Roddick is drool worthy at any age}( I'll say what you'd say to me about slipping in a 'dirty meal'. Fuhgetaboutit! A little blip in the big picture! You're body will put it to good use fuelling a tough workout. Enjoy your tennis!:)

I want to say a HUGE thanks to everyone for all of your vibes and good luck wishes to Faith. She love reading your feedback and thinks it's awesome that you all would even think about her.:) YOU ROCK.....but you already knew that!;)

Take Care
Laurie

ETA: YAAAY Linda, glad to have been of help}( :7

Hi Cheetahs--
I was able to work with my "blah" feeling this a.m. and get out the door to do an 8-mile run.

It was "only" 18 degrees, but not windy, and there was light snow, but no ice-- so it worked out fine. My new shoes with little spikey-things worked really well. My water bottle froze, but I got it to thaw by blowing into it like a balloon for 5 minutes and it gave in......Minor things --- the sun was out, sky was blue (a miracle in Michigan)

Now it's a busy afternoon. My kids have a swim meet and they are nervous today because they are trying to meet some goals. I hope they can feel good about their work and however it is they do today. Then they have the day off school tomorrow, so that should be fun for them.

Karen—great job doing your long run despite that middle-of-the-night scare! Good job getting those cute thongs y'day. I thought about that on my run to remind myself that spring is around the corner.

Cathy—good luck with your paper! I’m so excited you bought the Fluidity pkg and can’t wait to hear your review.

Shelly-glad you get a break from work

Laurie—I’m so glad Faith’s team and Faith did well. Fantastic! Congrats, too, on your weight loss.

Shelley—Good luck with PUB. Good strategy to do the abs first. I’m always quick to blow that off, think I will “do it later” and then I don’t.

Wendy—Have fun at the gym. I sympathize with you about putting your house up for sale. It’s a lot of work and it’s emotionally difficult.

Linda-Do you have the fluidity bar? I have watched that infomercial so many times and I’m tempted to cave and get it, but have no idea how to work it in, unless it’s an add-on and then I’m worried about the time….Glad you had fun with CF and good luck with Imax 3 today. I’m tempted to get Barry’s BC first, then fluidity…

Marcia—have a good rest day.

Laura—have fun with B&G premix. I think it’s a tough one.

Carole –I do not know how you run trails regularly. This snow stuff is challenging. I can’t imagine rocks, etc. I hope the run goes well and your glute/ham cooperate. Thanks for the interval info.

Gayle – I am so sorry about your tumble. I hope it heals quickly. Give me brownies! Have a fun race day. I found a flax meal cake recipe that was pretty good. I can send it or post it. (That’s my way of getting flax: put it in a cake?)

Christine—I think you’ll like the PP/SS DVD. I’m more of a fan of PP than SS, but the premixes are great and I haven’t tried Judy’s yet, but it looks very hard. Have a fun day with the tennis watching..

Ok--off to the day.
Have a great Sunday, Cheetahs! Thanks for all the inspiration and good cheer. It's so nice!
-Barb
