:: CHEETAHS :: Monday

Linda...thanks! So sorry I got your marathon schedule mixed up with Cathy's!! I would think a few days off running won't hurt you very much now. Can you get into a health club to use their TM if yours is not fixed soon? Is running outside definitely out? Very nice of DH to help you on the S/N, hope they can fix it ASAP!

Christine...I just saw Mom and she is doing well. John did have surgery on an infection he had, a few days ago. He is also in a rehab facility and I need to go see him too! Thanks, you know, it seemed like forever to get this weight off, thanks to the aging process! Sounds like you got in a good workout today.

Wendy...I have had my share of trail falls, I was lucky yesterday! Thanks for your kind words. When I come to Chicago I could bring my whip, but I won't be able to see you!! I know though you will get back into a clean groove with eating, as well all go through the bad eating times.

Cathy...Thank you! LMAO....of course you will find me in Chicago, besides, I have a LOUD mouth!! Enjoy your workout.

Judy...thanks...:)...well I usually run again on mondays after my long sunday run, so my body is fairly used to that. Now if it was a heavy leg weight lifting day that would be much tougher for me, upper was no problem!! BBQ tempeh, broccoli and salad sounds like a great dinner!

Well the forecast says we could have some rain by friday! I sure hope so...:)

Dh got to go take one of the girls to practice and I got the earlier easier one. Yeah me. So now I'm home to make some supper for the kiddies and dh who should be home shortly.

Now to play a little catch up.

Shelly-16 miles is awesome. I'm sure you are more than ready for your 18 miler with Wendy. Are you still planning on running the philly marathon.

Carole- Way to go. How great is that. I'm so proud and happy for you.

Wendy- Are you feeling better. I read you did Drill Max so I'm thinking your sickness this morning may have just been that you needed some rest. Hope the knee is good. It makes you so worried. Doesn't it. When I hurt the calf last week I really had to slow it down to consider what would get me to the finish when it's so close.

Linda- Yup!!! we are the TM queens. I wish I had a newer model but this one keeps holding on. I have had it for a long time. I wish it had a drink holder on it like the new ones. I can sit it on the console ledge but last week I lost a Gatorade mid run. Good thing I had my jelly beans and water.

I got an infomation booklet in the mail today about my half. Wow just to read it makes me nervous. Not that I don't think I can do it just the magnitude of the thing. I dont' think I have ever seen somthing this big. I mean to me 20,000 is a lot. 7,500 are jsut half marathoners. They put up a waiting list and it already has another 500 people on it. They are using the new D tag system. Has anyone heard of that. They don't need to scan it and they are disposable. They are the newest thing since the timing chip. They said it makes the packet pick up process easier. Apparantly you still need to put it on your shoe race day but the big thing is that you don't have to turn it it. I have never used any type of chip in any race. How does it know when to start counting your time if your stuck in a pack of runners. Apparantly they are letting the half marathoners go in waves depending on the time you said you thought you would finish. I put myself down as thinking I would finsish at about 2:15. Heck I don't know. Anyway they said they would put you in a holding bin and then let the first wave go and then the second and so on. This way the size of the runners won't interfere with the marathons trying to qualify for Boston. Whooo lots to soak in. Very exciting but very never wracking.

Good Grief I need to make dinner pronto.

Hello!

Linda: Sorry about the tm! Hopefully it gets fixed quickly! Speaking of the tm, mine is rather dusty, I need to clean it.

Christine: Rain vibes are out your way. :) I was tired too this morning and didn't feel like working out. I dragged myself to the tm though. Great workout!

Cathy: So what were you working on for PD? These are great temps for running. I work out in the morning, so if I run it is on the dm during the school season. How is the achilles today?

Judy: I bet it is nice to be home. Glad you had a great run.

Wendy: I have not been so good with the eating either. How was DM?

Karen: You have been busy!

Carole: CONGRATULATIONS on the goal weight! What a great feeling. :)

Jackie: How was your weekend? What movie did you and DBF see?

Shelly: GREAT run! The farthest I have run is 13.1. I did it, but I am getting scared thinking about running the marathon in May. I just want to do it without getting myself hurt. My partner is a spring chicken in her twenties....I am sure I will be seeking advice this winter!

I was very tired this morning and just ran another 3 on the tm. At least it was something. I will do something Cathe tomorrow. I miss her! ;) I am having a hard time keeping up with everything. I have my lesson plans done and will leave the grading for tomorrow.

Good night Cheetahs! :)

Karen - Wow! No, I have never heard of the “new chips” that your half is using! That is cool! That would make it easier, I would think! They chips know when to start your timing when you step over the “mat”. That will start your chip timing. That sounds like a big marathon! For me, anyway!! J I Can’t remember how many people the Marshall one that I did last year had. I am thinking it only had around 1000. And the Charleston Distance Run only had 1000! Pretty small, huh  Are you getting excited? My treadmill is just over a year old. I was thinking it was over 2...but I checked my online receipt and it was ordered March 2007. I am just furious that it would mess up so soon. I was like you and had one that was several years old….and never had any trouble! Maybe the older ones were made better.

Carole - The health clubs around here only allow you 30 minutes on the TM. I will be able to get outside, if need be. (I think, anyway)! I will have to do a little rearranging my schedule, but it is doable if the weather cooperates. I can take my clothes to work with me and just run after work.

Christine - LOL…yup…and they still stress you out, even when they are 30! You still worry about them when they drive J I will check the site out ! Great job on your workout!

Wendy - I think you are right about DH J Good job on that abwork!

Cathy - I loved the landlord with his spatula, too! He was so funny! I wanted to hit Whitt a few times! But I wonder where I came up with the title that I originally posted? Hmmm….well, if it isn’t a “real” title…it would make a good title ;) Enjoy the yoga!

Judy - The dinner sounds delicious! Can I join you guys? ;)

Gloria - Good job on the run! I admire you for fitting in what you do! I am sure you have a lot of planning, etc to do after school, just to get ready for the next day.! I am really having trouble with fitting it all in, too! Thanks for the TM sympathies!

I still haven’t heard from the Sole man. But when I came home, I started it up and let it run for 10 minutes and it worked for that long. I am going to try in the morning and see what happens. Sorry to keep talking about it!

Have a good night!

Linda- My TM is from Walmart believe it or not. It was the top one they had when I bought it 5 years ago but I only paid like $500 for it. I have never had a problem. It has a long bed on it so that is why I liked it so much. It has a big console with heart rate and like 6 pre programed workouts which I used when I first got it but like for the kids and dh now. Still no drink holder or fancy stuff but for the money it has been great. I guess I shouldn't wish for it to die with me having two long runs left. Ahh. Here is the link to my marathon if you want to check it out. They tell you about the new d chip device somewhere. It could be on the message boards or the newsletter they send out each month.

Hey Girls.

Just poppin' in to say hi.

I hadn't bought any fitness dvds in a while besides my IMAX3 purchase on the roadtrip so I went perusing Amazon for some new stuff. I am getting Jari's Ripped and Chiseled and 2 TJ's: Totally Tubular Turbo and Fat Blaster. With shipping I paid less then $27.00 total for all 3 and they are all being shipped from separate sellers. Not too shabby, ey? I'm excited now. :)

STILL waiting for my replacement One on One Abs dvd to be delivered. UPS supposedly has it and it has been rescheduled for delivery several times now. I'm starting to get mad but I don't know if I should be angry at UPS or BB! I emailed my coach about this to see if he can find out what's going on. Hopefully I'll get it soon.

K, that's all for now. I'll do personals in the a.m.

Night girls!:)

hi

Evenin’ Cheetahs!

I’m beat tired and on my way to bed but I would like to first get in a quick post to say hi and THANK Ya’ll for the support about our horse. My Cheetah friends are the bestestesses.. I heart ya'll! We still haven’t heard back on the test for the EPM yet but should by tomorrow. Wendi is also a jewel and I’ll PM her back tomorrow when I’m awake and have a few mins.

We had a great time over the weekend in Calistoga/St. Helena for the wedding and festivities. Rehearsal friends/family dinner was held at a lovely Italian place called Tra Vigne in St. Helena (YUMMMOO!) and the wedding was at the lovely Meadowood in St. Helena…Stayed at a place called Solage in Calistoga…VERY nice…it’s right down the street from the start of the Napa Valley Marathon on Silverado Trail…speaking of which, I didn’t forget my Cheetahs this weekend either because I snapped a few pics with my Blackberry (will load em tomorrow) of the scenery along Silverado Trail just in case it would help enable a few more Cheetahs out west for Carole’s marathon…heck…I’m tempted to sign up! I’m gonna if I can get my running back to what it used to be..

Anyhoo, I really will try to get in some personals here tomorrow evening if I can. I read some of the posts and always feel I have soooo much to say but not enough time to respond!...ugh…I practically never have time post at work and mornings are filled with other stuff and workouts so I’m really very sorry I can’t post as much as I’d like to ….Ok, I’m rambling …better get to bed…

Check-in with ya’ll tomorrow sometime…have a great day!

P.S. – Carole CONGRATS!! on reaching your goal – very inspirational to me!

and Cathy and Linda, I saw that silly Run, fat boy Run movie too! Laughed out loud a lot….scary though, I think I may end up running like him in Chicago! LOL

Ok, I’m really going to bed now!

Thomasina….er, Posh Cheetah…and boy was I a “livin’ large” Posh Cheetah this past weekend! LOL
