:::CHEETAHS:::MONDAY ALREADY!!!

Cathlete
Wow, the weekend zipped by for me!

Linda: I am going to have to see the movie you have been talking about! Sounds like you had a nice day with your grandson. :) It is sad about DH's cousin. She is so young. Like I said, she does have a great support system. Great job on CTX!

Today will be HSC. Have a fabulous day everyone! :)

monday already? how'd that happen? *lol*

Good morning, cheetahs!

ChristineOoh, Anthony’s on audio? Even without the visual, I think I’d enjoy that. Love his endearing accent. J Oktoberfest—jawohl! I am pretty much of the same training mindset right now. IA—2.5 miles after yesterday’s haul on the bike is none too shabby at all. WTG!

ShellySomehow I think if you’d wanted to, you *could* pull off a 20 on 3 hours of sleep. *lol* Have you ever done an ultra?...It’s just awesome that running around your property alone is 4 miles. J I worked like a BEAST yesterday pretty much around the clock, and yes, I did plow through A LOT, but I do have some more to go. It wasn't ALL grading, though. I also spent some time preparing some new materials for the week and organizing our upcoming class trip…My MT does do a great job. I believe in tipping well. J

CaroleI’m laughing ‘cuz I didn’t remember the vehicle, but I *do* remember your facial expression. You did look happy to be on the other side. J This may sound awful, but I do everything I can to avoid those bridal/baby showers. I hate the silly games more than the blatant ploy for gifts. If I ever do get married and have kids, I will most definitely be bucking tradition.

PoshSo, Little F made the newspaper! Woo-hoo!…*lol* I am guilty as charged on the repeat jaywalking. J And I’m absolutely rollin’ over here re: the fact that our POSH CHEETAH is bringing her own MT to Chicago! That is hilarious and BRILLIANT!!!...So, today we get tough on our selves, ay?

Gloriathanks so much for reading and commenting! I have had weekends or nights like that, where I just can’t deal with the paper load. Sometimes you just need a break from work…So sorry to hear about DH’s cousin. How awful that she lost her job on top of it. Is she getting chemo? Will say a prayer for her…How’s the ITB feeling today?...Complaining? You? Nah!

LindaSounds like a fun day getting the photos done. I hope you’ll share with us when they come back, please!…I think it was Karen who was all over the granola…I used to be a much more sound sleeper—that happens to me quite a bit (wake up and can’t fall back to sleep). Which is why I’m sacked out by 9 on the weeknights J…Ya know, I still don’t feel 100%. The night of the marathon and the next day, I had a really sore throat (that’s fine now), but I still have some post-nasal drip and pain in my jaw (mainly when I yawn). Sounds odd, I know, but I once had a cold in my jaw. So, I kinda just think my immune system is still a little weak. On the other hand, nearly everyone around me has been sick, and I’ve still managed to resist anything full-blown, so maybe I’m stronger than I think. J I’m glad Patty is feeling better.

Yesterday, I had to forego my workout. I needed to get as much done for school as possible. I’m embarrassed to say I was still grading work from October 1st! :) As mentioned to Shelly, I worked until 8 pm, and I’m happy to have made good progress, which likely should continue tonight. New rotation starts today, and I’m back to Mondays as rest days, so I’ll keep the momentum going while I’ve got it.

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

HI Cheetahs-

Thomassina- I was so busy putting up recipes yesterday I forgot to congratulate your boy! so CONGRATULATIONS! How cool that he got INK! Are you making a scrapbook?

Gloria- I am sorry about DH's cousin. So did you do HSC before or after school? I am amazed at how you and Cathy fit in your workouts around all your prep and grading work.

Today is a 7 mile run. I thought I might increase it, but I increased one of my shorter runs last week. So I'll just keep this one as is, but maybe do a different route. There goes the dryer and I don not want DS's dress shirts to wrinkle. I'll try to BBL! Forgive typos. The dryer has stopped.

Yikes! I came back to Edit!!!!

Good Morning Cheetahs! :)

Got back last night but I was tired so I just slugged on the couch before crawling into bed. By the time we got outta PA yesterday and back to MIL's it was 4pm. We stayed there for dinner so never got home until close to 8. We had a great time despite a few glitches. DH LOVED his stock car racing experience! He was THRILLED! Good thing too cause it wasn't cheap! :p We had a couple good meals and spent a little time in the new casino that opened out there. Yesterday we hit the outlets out there for some shopping before heading home. I am done shopping for DS for Christmas! :D

I skimmed the weekend's posts. It will be too much to try and respond to all of it so I'll just start personals from today.

I do want to say though in regards to the suggestions to train with a charity~Great minds must think alike because I was already considering it actually. :D I get materials from Team in Training on occassion. My dad died from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and that is a type of cancer that TNT raises money to find a cure for so it seemed a natural choice for me. I'll have to do some research and see what they require. :)

Regarding WHICH marathon to do. DH seriously thinks Long Island would be good for me. I'll have to go back and look at the site again. I tried to read about it before I left on friday but the site was not cooperating. I am also actually considering doing the NJ Marathon which is the same event as the half I ran in May. I initially didn't want to do it because the full mary is a double loop BUT it seems my choices are few and I KNOW this course is flat and it's very close to home. I know I have lotsa time but I don't want to be panicking down the line when I need to make a choice and register. Besides, I'd really like to register for something at the onset of my training. It will help keep me motivated durning training.

I intend to start FitnessFreak's 08 Leg Blast Rotation today with a few modifications so that I can fit in a weekly run. I will also have to sub for a few work outs that I don't have. The rotation kicks off with Muscle Max as produced. I'll be sore tmrw. ;)

BBL!

Good morning ladies!

I'm a bit slow getting going this morning for my run. Looking for somewhere between 5 and 6 miles, I'll see how I feel. I'll admit that I'm not that eager to jump out there in the 20 degree cold....BBBBRRRR! Not quite ready for winter yet:confused:. I'm going to give it another half hour then I'll suit up. Hmmmm, now where are those gloves??....

I'll be back with personals after my run. I've got a few things to get done around the house first. Have a great day ladies!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Shelly – paying bills is never fun! Good idea to postpone your 20 miler until you have a chance to get a little more sleep. Have fun in your training. I hope they do not expect you to sit still too long. I’m only doing the 10.6 miler in the Big Sur race. But, it’s a gorgeous run. I do agree that it is one of, if not the most beautiful runs in the country. :p

Carole – Interesting day yesterday in football. A lot of the teams that should have won did not. Pats play tonight. So, we’ll be doing that tonight. Glad you had a good run! Enjoy your new washing machine! (well, as much as you can something like that)

Posh – Oh how cool that DS is in the paper! :D I’ll bet he’s feeling pretty darned proud himself. Good for him! Nice of you to bring a bike for Cathy for Napa – we’ll have fun tooling around together.

Gloria – Check in when you can! It’s not a big deal. We know how busy people are! Of course, we love hearing from you whenever you can post. Enjoy your deep breath! I’m so sorry to hear about your cousin! 26 is so young! And a single mother to boot! And , that is SO not legal – they cannot fire her due to cancer. I hope it’s a treatable form of cancer!

Linda – How cute about taking your grandson for photos! I’ll bet they turn out adorable! The humidity in most of California is pretty low. It can get a little humid if the fog is in, but that also keeps the temperatures low. When it’s warm, it’s usually dry. The biggest challenge with Big Sur is the wind, as Carole mentioned. There’s a nice hill at mile 13 that can have a nasty headwind. The two times I ran the 10.6 miles, there was only a light breeze, but it’s very unpredictable.

Cathy – Oh yeah, you can download audio versions of AOS (all of them) for a much lower price. If I ever get brave enough to take the bells to the beach or something, I’ll be set! But I do like them. I’m glad you were able to get a lot of grading done! I think an easy week after your marathon is totally warranted!! Hope you’re feeling better soon – there is a bunch of stuff going around, and if you’ve managed to avoid the worst of it even after a marathon, you’re doing well.

Judy – enjoy your run!

Wendy – glad to hear DH had a grand ole time with the stock cars! Cool that you’re done shopping for DS for Christmas! Wow!!! Have fun picking your marathon! I think a TNT is a good idea – they’ll offer a lot of support too. I know there is fund raising involved, though, so that’s something to consider.

Wendi – enjoy your run!

I’m a little sore from yesterday, but I’m feeling pretty good. I have Spinervals Big Gear Strength on tap for today. I haven’t done that one in ages, so it should be fun. I had forgotten how much I love what kettlebells do for me. I’m enjoying them very much. :p Have a great day all!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...LOL, I was happy to be on the other side, looking at youse guys...:) Yes, showers bridal and baby I always try and avoid, but I do have 2 others I feel more obligated to attend this year..So are you following a specific rotation now?

Gloria...I like new appliances also. This washer holds a bit more than the old one (it is deeper) and I actually enjoyed doing laundry yesterday...:). So glad to hear DH's Mom is recovering well from her hip surgery. Very sad about your DH's cousin. Hope the benefit dinner helps. Good job on the 7 miles.

Judy..enjoy your 7 miler.

Wendy...I think that might be a good choice for you to pick a marathon closer to home. Doing one for a cause is awesome IMO. Enjoy MM today.

Wendi...20 degrees outside!! Yikes...

Christine...I agree, some teams got creamed unexpectedly yesterday! But surprisingly the Raiders pulled one out...DH gets so irritated when they show Al Davis/owner on the TV! I did enjoy doing laundry yesterday. Glad you are enjoying th KB's again. Have a good spinerval workout.

Shelly...Good idea to postpone your 20. Sounds like a fun 4 miler on your property. Woo Hoo on the 45 mile week!!! I hope to get there during my training also. Yes, I opted for Football and thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Posh...Way cool DS got mentioned in the paper! You are bringing your MT to Chicago?...Very nice! I also have a run on Turkey day. It is 6 miles and I have not done it for awhile. My sister and I were discussing weight loss/marathon training yesterday, and she feels once she gets her long runs to about 16 miles is when she starts to loose weight. You are so right about the Cowpatties! WTF? They seems all banged up...But, whaddayaknow...the Raiders Finally won one!!!

Linda...Yes the sis I run with is not the oldest one. The oldest does not run although she would tell you she has done marathons...I am the youngest of 4 girls. Karen (the one I run with) is about 5 years older. I do have 2 other baby showers that I will have to muddle through this year...I bet your grandson's pics are adorable. Good job with CTX.

Today will be P90X CST, abs and a 5 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning!

Gloria – Enjoy HSC! I agree, that is absolutely too young

Cathy – I could definitely understand how you would still have papers from Oct. 1! You have had a lot going on…with school..and everything else! LOL….I definitely, if at all possible and I am not out with friends, I am in bed by 9:00 on weekends, too :) I usually turn into a pumpkin at that time ;) I have heard a lot of people say that after a marathon, it takes a while for the body to recover and get back to normal (immunity, as well as muscular skeletal-wise). Hope how soon you feel 100%. I am having some trouble trying to figure out the tapering. Did you follow a specific schedule during the week….or did you just kind of decide what lower mileage you would do on each day? How many days a week did you run during the taper? Enjoy your new rotation!

Christine – Thanks for the Big Sur info! That is kind of what I was thinking, but I didn’t really know.

Judy – Enjoy your 7 mile run! No worry if typo’s…..we definitely understand! :)

Wendy – Oooo! Enjoy the leg rotation! I sure do miss legwork! Oh well….in time :) I am sorry about your dad and his cancer. I think TNT would be great! I checked into that, but they didn’t have a group in our area. I could have done the virtual training, but I was kind of afraid that I would end up not going through with the marathon…..so…I chickened out

Wendi – Yikes! I thought our 32 degree morning was cold! I could definitely see how it would be tough for you to get started! Enjoy your run!

Carole – I think you and I are the same age (I am 49), so that is very encouraging that Karen is still running strong and is 5 years older than us! :) Oh dear.... your oldest sis sounds like a case! In regards to the baby and wedding showers…it seems that when it rains, it pours….(no pun intended ;) Enjoy your run and P90X!

This morning I did CTX Back, Pilates on the Ball abs and lower body. Then ran 5 miles.

Hey to everyone that checks in later and hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

Linda

Hiya chickadees!

Well, maybe, just *maybe*, I'm starting to feel like myself again:D. The original plan was to slog my way through my 5-6 miler and that's what it *felt* like lol. My intent was to run for 60 min, come home, map my route and hope it was somewhere in that ballpark. Well, I ran for 63 min, only stopping by my house to drop off a layer of clothing and to talk to the tree guys for a couple of minutes (uh, real hotties, BTW;)) who were starting to work next door. When I mapped it out just now it turns out that I covered 7.1 miles:eek::D:cool:...*doin' the happy dance*. That may e the fastest 7 miles I've EVER run!!! Don't get me wrong, I was feeling it and, boy, I may be in trouble tomorrow:eek:, but I'm feeling mighty high right now!

Let me go jump in the shower and defrost (it was 25 when I stepped out the front door:eek:). BBIAB with breakfast and personals!

Alrighty, got some grub in me so let me get to it....

Gloria - So sorry that your schedule has been so rough for ya...I hope it lightens up soon! {{{MEGA HUGS}}} for DH's cousin and mom:(, wow. Oooh, have fun with HSC! The new girl is the "best" of all the shmucks we've had so I'm doing my darndest to make it work, but, sheesh:rolleyes:.

Cathy - Glad to hear that you were able to make some good headway in that mountain of work! I'm sure your students understand why you're so backed up. Thank goodness there was not so much as a peep out of that hammy today...weird, huh? I WILL be keeping the tennis ball in mind though if it happens again, thanks! Heehee, my new "code" name amongst the people that I'm close with at the barn is Elpheba...as in the Wicked Witch of the West;). I hope you're able to find some time to perhaps persue your writing again...would be a darn shame to let a talent like that sit:). However, I also know that you have soooooo much on your plate right now!

Judy - Thanks for posting all those very yummy looking sauces...will HAVE to try them out soon. Hope you have a nice 7 miler today...looks like we were on the same wavelength;). Uh, I can't blame you for wanting to take a rest day after moving all that wood...holy Toledo! What did DH have to say, hmm? I will squeeze that appt in today sometime.

Wendy - So glad to hear that you had a great time this weekend! Hey, whatever mary you decide on I will do my darndest to be there as part of the cheering section:D. Oh, owie, have *gulp* "fun" with that rotation;)! Enjoy MM...I might break that one out tomorrow if the chest DOMS that I have right now ease up:eek:.

Christine - Great job on the KBs and run after that killer bike ride...kudos!!! It's no wonder you're a leetle sore:eek:. Sorry about all the lines at the Oktoberfest...hate waiting in lines:mad:.

Carole - Can't blame you one bit for skipping that shower! I'm with Cathy on that one. Ugggh, so sorry about the washer:mad:! You know, they never pick a convenient time to bite the bullet, do they? Although, I don't know about you, but I kind of like shopping for new appliances:). I know, I'm weird:p. Fantastic job conquering that hilly 15 miler yesterday! Enjoy your workout today! Uh, yeah, not quite ready for that kind of cold:eek:. They're actually forecasting snow showers for Wed morning (of course, that's when I planned to do my next run:rolleyes:)!

Linda - Great workout this morning! Awww, it sounds like you had a great time with DGS yesterday....too cute! Um, that's why I avoid that Bare Naked Granola like the plague...just can't stop until it's aaaaaallllllll gooooone! As I told Carole, we're supposed to get snow showers Wed...NNNOOOOOOO!

So the tree guys are playing with the wires out front so let me get these posted before I lose power:eek:. BB with the rest in a minute!

Karen - Aww, loved hearing that your girls gave mommy a spa day! Too sweet! So, is the cold history yet? Glad that the calf is finally feeling better.

Jackie - Glad to hear that you'll have a training partner! Hope you had a nice rest day. DOMS gone today? Unfortunately I didn't get to show her my evil side yesterday lol...too busy:p.

Shelly - VERY wise choice to reschedule that 20 miler:eek:...although, ITA with Cathy that, if you *had* to, I'm sure you could have conquered it:). But why kill yourself, right? Wow, 4 miles just around the property? Sounds like it was fun! Thanks for the well wishes and, after today's very successful run, I tend to agree with ya that I've just been overtired but it still might be worth checking out. The garbled speech thing *is* a bit unsettling:(.

Posh - Oh, wow, bringing your own MT?!?! Watch out, soon you'll be bringing the whole entourage:p. Hope you were able to catch up on the housework...know how that goes when you backed up like that. Have fun with 4DS this week.

Hi Dallas!

Must get the butt glue remover and get a movin' here. I'm afraid to sit still for too long cuz I might not get going again:eek:. Gonna have lunch with DSO and spend the day with him. Not sure what we're going to do yet...was thinking of going for a drive up to the mountains. We'll see. Have a fabulous day Cheetahs!

yee haw

Mornin’Cheetahs!

Figured I’d try and get in some personals before I hop on the workout and then get ready to get outta here. This week is going to be another “easy” week workout wise because I want to make sure my legs are completely recovered before I go back to building mileage. Soooo, only a 2-3 mile run (dreadmill) and some 4D’s CST premix….that is if I can post personals fast enough! I’m a slogger when it comes to posting personals…lol

Thanks again everyone for the kudos on DS - he's so into his Football! LOL

Gloria – Wow, you’ve had a busy week, I can understand feeling like needing to take a breath. So sorry to hear about DH’s cousin and yes, I do believe it is illegal to fire over an illness. Very nice of you to visit DH’s mom and hook her up with the games..lol.

Linda – Your grandson sounds adorable! I remember when my mom would get all excited taking the kids to get pics done. Amanda is my lil’ ham and at 18 years old, she still is in photos! Um, yeah, can’t to the Bare Naked Granola…if I go near it I hear, “step away from the granola”…

Cathy – Yes, my friend,… today is the day….got me can of whoop azz sittin’ righch hayer…lol. I’m prolly gonna sign myselves up for the nutrition program again, since it seems some of the glitches have been worked out now. Chyeah, my own MT in Chicago, can you believe it? Hey, she didn’t need any arm twisting either…I just raved on about the trip and she said, “COUNT me in for next year, I’m serious”…etc.. blah, blah, and I said, “dang, I’m REALLY gonna be the Posh Cheetah fo shiz”….lol….She’s a great person – very nice. lol re: lil “f”…

Judy – Thanks again for the recipes and for the kudos on DS. Yeah, he got some ink and you betcha, I’m all over keeping anything that appears in the paper..lol. I was just adding to the book last night and thinking about who will be looking at it in 10, 20 even 30 years from now…

Wendy – Sounds like the weekend was great! I’ve done a few marathons with TNT and I think they’re a good choice. For me, my first marathon experience went well because of the TNT group involvement. There is fund raising involved, but don’t let that intimidate you. You’d be surprised how easy it is to raise the minimum. You can count on me for a donation if you decide to go the charity route. ;) Good luck choosing a marathon. I’d say you need to choose the marathon in order to know when to start your training, but make sure you keep a base in the meantime. Just my suggestions…

Wendi – Good job on the run! woo hoo! Yeah, it’s been a bit chilly here in the mornings but no 20’s yet. I bet you can’t wait for the snow and ice, huh? lol.. driving the “quad” in the snow…

Chistine – Yeah, I can bring my bike to Napa but first I should ask Cathy if she even wants to ride it?...lol:rolleyes:. First we have to get her to Napa too! LOL Wish I could do the Big Sur with ya’ll but too bad I’m already committed to a family cruise. You’re tempting me on the kettle bells again…stop it!

Carole – Yes, my MT is very nice and we’ve been friends for a bit (her DS and mine go to school together). I was raving about Chicago and that I’m going back in 09 and she said to count her in because she wants to go to Chicago etc. And she even offered to give the Cheetah runners a pre-run massage (the kind for before an event – not deep) no fee – just maybe a dinner - I said, Wow, I get first dibs!”..lol… She said she's gonna start looking for a travel massage table... Yes, WTF is going on with NFL these days? True though, the Raiders actually pulled one off ..I saw that game..lol. Yes, I hope to lose more weight this next month while building miles again…I think the combo of clean eating and consistent runs does the trick…Cool you have a Turkey day run too!

Ok, better get to that work out or I’ll run outta time! Hello to all Cheetahs that follow!

POSH :D

Hi girls. Sitting here eating some chicken soup and drinking oj. I'm in the girps of a massive cold. :( I'm so wiped out. I hate colds. So I'm just reading email and being good doing the right things.

Carole- thank you so much for emailing me with the training. I will print it out and read it as I mope over getting this cold. I am so happy that I didn't have this last week with the half. That really would have been the worst.

Anyway I probably won't be back. I'm pretty much sitting down and resting or sitting in a chair teaching. Either way I'm sitting. Hopefully the end is near and today is the peak of the cold. It' s got to look up from this point. I don't even want a latte. Now you know I'm really sick.:(

hello to all my girls.

Hi Cheetahs!

Christine - Good job on the 43.5 miles and the run! What else did the Oktober fest have to offer. We had a small October Fest in our small town. DBF and I probably stayed for about 30 minutes and I was ready to go. Kids looked like they were having fun. Enjoy your Spinnervals today.

Judy - That was some work moving all of that wood. Glad you got it over and done. I'm trying to figure out how to use my gas log fireplace. Think they failed to give me the key once they turned the gas on. Good luck with the 7 miles today.

Cathy - It's back to trying to catch up on grading for you, huh? Hope you make a dent in the pile. Will you be getting back to the EXT now that all the running is over?

Shelly - Working 12 hour shifts and then having to come home and pay bills. How painful!:D Glad you took that rest day. Hope the training class was fun. Yeah, it was only about 8 women in the 40+ group Saturday. Come on to TN and run a few races with me. :D That would be fun! No full marathon fever yet but you never know.

Carole - Glad you had a good 15 mile run and enjoyed your football! Enjoy CST and your 5 mile run today.

Posh - Glad you got to sleep in. You so deserve it. If the massage place wasn't so far away, I would renew. It's an hour away in Memphis. It was just too hard to get there sometimes and I lost money on a few. Decided to just pay as I go. I went mostly when I was doing the Road Race Series last year and I had a race every two weeks.

Gloria - Glad you got to take a little break. Nice of you to download some games for your MIL. Hope she's all healed soon. So sorry about DH cousin. She will be in my prayers. Horrible that she was fired. No compassion these days. Good job with the 7 miles!

Linda - Sounds like you and GS had fun taking pictures. Sound really cute. I love Bear Naked. Really like the chocolate but haven't been able to find it in a long time. I stick with Peak Protein now. Glad you enjoyed it. Good job with the run today.

Wendy - Welcome back! Glad you had a wonderful time.

Wendi - Cold in your neck of the woods today. I'll be turning the heat on before long. Great job on the run and you got to see hotties too. :D My legs are still a little sore. Think Saturday caught with them now.

Karen - Take care of that cold. Hope you're back to 100% soon. Glad you don't have any training to do. Feel better.

I did a 40 minute tempo run today using iTread #9 60 minutes. Did Slo Mo Chest and some stretching.

Thanks again for the congrats on my race. My official time was 27:27. That was 2 seconds better. Gotta go now. Have a great day ladies!

HI Friends-

The 7mile run is done, but no where as fast as our Wendi! But I am happy just the same. I parked at the grocery store and ran from there. The after a stretch in the parking lot I ran in for a few groceries.

Wendi- DH was quite pleased with the wood pile being stacked! Wow you had some cold temps this morning! We did not even have have frost last night. But we also have snow in our sights.

Carole- I am another who likes to shop for appliances. I was at the vacuum cleaner store a few days ago to get bags and ended up talking to the salesman about the newer vacuums!

Christine- did you run Big Sur last year? My memory is clouded.

Wendy- Sounds like you and DH had a fun weekend Did you say your are done with Joey's Christmas shopping?! I bow down to you. I make my lists the week of Halloween and *try* to get started shortly after. I don't prefer to do major shopping in December with the crowds.

Well it seems DS15 has a contusion on his left thigh. He was hit with someone else's knee in a game two weeks ago and again this weekend. The bruised thigh is 2 inches bigger than the other one! he has to have no contact and Physical therapy along with icing and stretching. oh joy... His age is not real agreeable to this regimen :confused::confused:.

Hi Girls.

Just wanted to pop in quickly to say my work out is done. Muscle Max is in the bag so I have officially started FF's 08 Leg Blast rotation. Will you ladies be takin' bets on weather I see it all the way through or not?? :p

Tomorrow's work out is a Drill Max cardio premix. Since I just did DM on Thursday I am going to take tmrw as my opportunity to run after work instead.

Gotta head for a shower now and then start thinkin' about dinner for the boys...

Be back a bit later for personals!:)

Hey ladies.

So I spoke to Team in Training today! They are going to contact me when they start recruiting for thier summer series. It looks like I'll probably be doing the New Jersey Marathon through them. It sounded like the only one that's local to me but it's fine cause I know the course will be flat. I will probably hear from them in December some time. :)

So when you ladies talk about base mileage, what kind of weekly #'s are you talkin' about? For the next 4-6 weeks I am only going to run once a week. I need the break. After that though I want to take the advice of bringing my mileage up to a good base so what should I shoot for every week??

GTG for now but I'll be back again!;)

Hey Cheetahs!

Cathy: I really need to get some grading done. I just could not do it last night. I will post tonight and do some of it later. We are testing tomorrow too so I can do some then after I make sure the kids are filling in the bubbles properly. :) DH's cousin is getting chemo. I think she has done it three times so far. I guess it is treatable, but not curable. If I am right, it is the same kind of cancer Wendy's dad had. The ITB is fine and in check. I used a cool lesson idea from the conference today and it was a hit. Sometimes you just can't workout because of the workload. I get it. Enjoy your rest day!

Judy: Great run today! Thank you for the prayers. Like I told Cathy, sometimes the workload can be too much to get in a workout. I have made working out a commitment so I get up at 4 and do it in the morning. Once in a great while I will workout in the afternoon, but I can't remember the last time I did that. I have been teaching long enough to learn that I can make my job my whole life, but I choose not to. I am married, have interests and two dogs to take care of. Sorry for blabbing on and on. I am happy with what I can accomplish in a day. :)

Wendy: WELCOME BACK! Sounds like you all had fun! Great workout!

Christine: I knew it wasn't legal. I know she is a hard worker. DH's mom is filling me in on everything, as I am not really close with all the cousins. We all like each other, but distance, etc. makes it hard. Plus there are so many of them! I learned the cancer is treatable, but not curable. Awesome you are having great workouts!

Carole: DH's mom is a tough lady. :) Both of his parents are talkers, so I know where DH got it! I can barely get in a word with all of them together. :) They are a good family. I am actually looking forward to the benefit. You are so good at getting in everything with your workouts!

Linda: Great workout today! How is your DD doing? I hope I didn't miss it in a previous post. Just let me know and I will go back and check.

Wendi: Sounds like a great day with DSO! Thank you for the hugs. Like I told Christine, we are not super close or anything. She has just been someone that you can talk to and it is just talking and enjoying each other's company. It is hard to explain. I guess all I can say is it's family. I have been with DH for 13 years now so his family are my peeps too. You did AWESOME on your run! :)

Posh: MIL is not so good with computers so I try and help out when I can.
She is a really smart and crafty lady though, she just *thinks* she can't do it. Or maybe she is just making me feel useful?? Who knows. :) Sounds like you have a solid plan in place for your workouts. :)

Karen: Hope you are feeling better soon!

Jackie: You are doing great with your workouts! Thank you for the prayers. My MIL told me about the firing and I was in a rage. I told her that they can't do that and all she said was that they just did. I know this girl is a hard worker. I don't understand. She called my MIL in tears saying that she was out on the lake having fun with family and friends one day and the next day she has cancer and all her hair is falling out. She is not lazy and her personality is one that likes being busy. I have blabbed on again.

I did HSC today. I really like that one with all the plyo jumps! I am already feeling sore. We are looking at lows in the teens this week. YIKES! Better break out my winter coat! I am secretly excited for the first snow fall. I haven't told anyone but you gals! The teachers might sacrifice me if I were to say it in the teacher's lounge! LOL!

Have a great night everyone! :)

Judy - Good job with the 7 miles! Hope DS thigh heals quickly.

Wendy - You can do it! See that rotation through girl! Glad you found a team to train with.

Gloria - My heart goes out to DH cousin. I know she has a lot on her right now. Will she hold off on trying to work for the time being? Good job with HSC! Oh, no, no snow yet!

Have a good night!

Hola, cheetahs!

ChristineWhat a good idea to take the bells to the beach…Ya know, it’s odd—I really don’t feel *BAD*—just don’t feel totally right, either, if that makes sense. I don't think at this point, though, that I'll succumb. So I'm wonderin' if Mr. Jim has a Halloween costume?

Caroleyeah, there are some shower invites, I know, it’s impossible to duck. I am doing a rotation of my own design, similar to what I was doing in late summer: 4 days running, 2 circuits, 1 yoga…That is so interesting that Karen starts to lose when it gets up to 16 milers. Somehow I didn’t get that memo. *lol*

LindaI had planned to run 4x a week during the taper. But the first week of the taper was BTS Night week—it was kinda crazy-busy and I’d had a migraine, to boot, so that sort of threw things off. Only ran 2x. The 2nd week of the taper I did manage 4 runs. And then during the final week of the taper, I did 4 runs (including the marathon). The last week, they were very easy 2-3 milers.

Wendiglad you’re feeling so UP after that kick-butt run! How did you make out with the titer today? I can imagine that garbled speech would be quite alarming...*lol* at the concept of new girl being the “‘best’ of all the schmucks.” Snow showers??? No way! I am with you—it was quite a shock to have to scrape the windshield this morning!

Poshso, how’d you do day one? I managed to resist the fun size Halloween bars that I’ve been diggin’ into lately, so I’m off to a good start J…Oh, I so want to come to Napa! I probably can’t keep up with Christine on the bike, but that would be a good way for us to jet around the course and be your cheerleaders!

JackieYeahhp, I’m in THAT hole again. *lol* Happens sometimes. That’s what I get for having an absolutely fabulous super-fantastic marathon getaway weekend. J J J I enjoy the EXT but will stick to it only when I want to give the joints a break or XT. Last winter’s experiment proved to me that it cannot substitute for running for me. Sorry if I missed this, but when will you start training with your neighbor?

Gloriaso tell me about this hit lesson! Love sharing new ideas. I hear you on the grading. I stayed late today and had it in mind to plow through some more tonight, but now I’m feeling lazy. *lol* You are so right—that it can become your life if you let it. I have workaholic tendencies, so I sometimes have to remind myself where to draw the line…Does DH’s cousin have any plans to fight her termination from work? PS…I love snow (and snow days!), too! J

Judysounds like DS took quite a hit. I bet it is hard to get him to adhere to doctor’s orders. I feel the same about December shopping. I avoid it like the plague.

Wendy—glad you enjoyed your weekend. I think I remember you saying you selected Higdon’s training plan. I know there is lots of great reading on his site as well as RW. You might want to scope out the bookstore and look into titles by Higdon, Galloway, and Bingham.

OK, ladies, have a great night! I believe the couch is calling my name...
