::: CHEETAHS ::: Mischief Night Mon.10/30

Hey Barb! I think Joey is going to be Piglet from Winnie the Pooh. Not my first choice but it's a FREE costume so I won't complain!;) }( :D An IPOD is a cute idea! LOL

So I ended up pushing myself to work out. I couldn't get up the gumption for weights so Slim and Lean is waiting until tomorrow-no biggie. I DID, however, some how, some way, some where, find the enrgy to do MIC in full!!!   }( }( }( Talk about going from no friggin' motiviation to a KILLER work out, ey!? I think I did it to punish myself for blowing off spin this morning!;) :7 :7 :7

Anywho, it was lots of fun and I survived it with flying colors! Ofcourse, I normally step using 6" and allowed myself 4" today. I may not have made it through alive otherwise!:p I also did HSC abs.

I finished about 10 minutes ago and strangely I am not hungry! I am usually pretty famished after a work out..even a much less intense one! Hmmm...well, I'm not forcing myself to eat. I ate enough prior to working out so I'll wait a bit and see how I feel....:)

Just cam back to answer Runner Girl's Question:
Q: "Do you ever feel your PF coming back?"

A: yes I do soemtimes get the pain associated with PF and bone spurs. If I do too many high impact work outs on consecutive days. And If my calves are tight ( like now) then It pulls on the plantar Fascia causing inflamation.

I am wondering if running many hills contributes to tight calves. Anybody know?

Judy ~ Running a lot of hills can attribute to tight calves, which can lead to PF or achilles tendonitis. I still deal w/ PF on & off, but it's gotten a lot better. Stretching & strengthening your calves will help!!

Good job getting in your workout, Wendy!! I don't have MIC, but it sounds like a great workout!! And WTG to your dh for cleaning for you! How sweet!! My dh is NOT a clean freak like me, so I just take care of the house if I want things done *my* way. }( I don't mind though since I'm home during the day. He just thinks there's some cleaning fairy that does the laundry, dishes, vacuuming, dusting, etc. It's just always done. ;-)

I'm sure Joey will look cute as Piglet! I have a Tigger costume that all 3 of my girls wore at age 2, I love it!!!

G'afternoon!

OK, now I know why I love Cathe!!! I did about 35 min of Christi Taylor's Step Heaven & it drove me nuts. Every time I'd follow her steps, she changes something so I'm all lost again!! So I put in SJP & did just the step portion, then abs & planks. Ahhh, I was sweaty after all that cardio though! ;-)

Got some CleanMax done & Allison is napping so I have a little free time! I roasted our pumpkin seeds- YUMMY!!! Must stay away from the kitchen so I don't eat them all! :p At least they're healthy for you, but I still don't need to eat them all!

It's super windy out, I hope the weather stays nice for the parade tonight. The girls are looking forward to it!

OH, and my dh got a mullet wig to wear to work tomorrow!!! Oh my gosh.. it is a RIOT!! And he's going to wear a flannel shirt w/ his dress pants, he's still in dress code since it will be a button-down collared shirt!!! :7 I'll make sure to take a pic of him!

Hope you're all having a great afternoon!

Great pics, SD!! Looks like a fun class & WTG on getting your certification!! When will you start teaching?? Hope you had a good spin class, I've never taken one but have heard tons of great things about it!

RE: G'afternoon!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing well! I am late checking in this morning because I am so far behind in work and it will take me forever to catch up after being on vacation! Blah!

Cathy – We just have Trick or Treat. Is that basically the same thing? I had gone to Vegas for my vacation a week ago and got home Saturday. It was nice! Enjoy your run this afternoon!

Sunny – Hope you enjoyed your Spin class! When I get home from work, I am going to look at your TK certification pictures! That is so great! I started to take the home study course and my oldest daughter wants to do it, but we just have never gotten around to it.

Wendy – Sounds like you had a busy, busy day yesterday! I ran outside in the cold yesterday, too! It started out freezing cold but gradually got warmer and by the end of the run, it was around 45 degrees. That was sweet of your DH to clean for you! Don’t sweat the spin class! Tomorrow is another day! But – hey – MIC is an awful good workout, too! Good job!

Judy – Have fun on your chilly run this morning!! The new DVD’s are great! I love them! Hope you enjoy previewing and trying!

Laurie – I can just picture your investment guy talking like the teacher on “Charlie Brown” lol! I feel the same way as you! I haven’t done CK in a long while! I should pull it out.

Christine – that sounds like a good workout! Hope you enjoy it!

Carole – Enjoy your elliptical workout! That was an awesome picture!

Katrina – That sounds like a good mix of workouts! My friend does her workouts like that most days. She does 10 or 15 minutes treadmill, 10 or 15 on elliptical and 10 or 15 on bike. Her trainer is having her to that in order to avoid any more overuse injuries. She has had quite a few.

LD – I hope your Podiatrist can help! I am sure that is very painful, as well as aggravating! Have fun with the Gauntlet, though!

Jennifer – I love Bootcamp, too! How early do you have to get up to run with your running group?

Barb – Yay! Hope you like the new DVD’s! They are awesome! I am thrilled with them! That does sound like a good way to start Monday! (your workout AND the new DVD’s ; )

Shelly – Hope you enjoy your run! Hope you get your new DVD’!!!! Take it easy on your UPS man!

Pamela – Hi there! Good to “see” ya!

Jess – I love the abwork in SJ&P! That is one of my favorite ab workouts. The abwork in the new LIC is kind of like that. Your DH’s costume sounds great! I remember when I first got Step Heaven, I did that workout probably every day for about 2 weeks just in order to learn the choreography! After I learned it, I loved it! But at first, I was soooo frustrated!

This morning I did the new Low Impact Circuit workout. It was awesome! I love, love, love the new workouts!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Linda

RE: G'afternoon!

Hello again cheetah warriors! I had a very good run this morning. The best outdoor run since catastrophe struck for me. I made it 5 miles (lots of hills) feeling pretty good. I could have gone further but decided to be smart (for a change) and not push it.
Oddly enough I find it easier going up hills then flat running. I think leaning forward takes some strain off the adductor.

Anyway, I was doing clean max around noon and vacuuming and heard the doorbell just as I shut it off. I was down stairs and flew up the steps to the front door. The UPS man had made it back to his truck by then so he was saved from assault! I did give him a very happy wave though.

I actually previewed BodyMax II some while having my lunch. Then I carried my treasure down with me to the basement. I've just returned from a wonderful sweaty muscle pumping time! This workout was even more challenging the bodymaxI if that's possible. I'm taking a break now here, then I'll mop the floor....then B&G!!

OMG
 I am insane.......somebody stop me!

Jess--do post the mullet photo of DH: business in the front, party in the back...very funny.
My kids were tigger, too, when they were little. I love SJP. Good job on Cleanmax

Wendy--Piglet costume sounds cute. The I-pod costume is a box covered in metallic wrap with a dial and menu on the front. It was a team effort by DS, DH & me.

I got the new DVDs but haven't had time to preview them, except for the stretch on B&G, which I did and found it compact and useful!

Have a nice night, cheetahs,
Barb
:) :) :)

RE: G'afternoon!

I'm jealous Shelly!! That sounds like fun! Although a 5 mile run, Body Max 2 And B&G? I hope you're not planning on walking tomorrow!!!

RE: G'afternoon!

Linda--Glad you loved the LIC workout. I can't wait to try them all

Shelly-Good job on your run. I'm glad you're feeling better. I cannot believe you are doing BM2 and B&G on the same day. You go wild cheetah woman! I love the colors of the outfits on BM2

Have a great day everyone.

Just came in from my 6 mile run. Think I’m going to save the upper body weights for tomorrow AM as I worked pretty hard yesterday.

Sunny :: you would know if your local kids got into mischief night festivities—they’d probably get your cars and trees with soap and TP! At least that’s how it’s done around here. Funny…I decided as of today that I am going to do the same – split my workouts into AM and PM.

Laurie :: glad the girls had such a blast!

Christine :: no – lol – I do not go out & cause any mischief. As kids, we did, but now it is not done much anymore. Unfortunately, my cousins’ children think it’s cute to keep “tradition” so they target my car/house every year. Grrr. That’s kind of why I asked…it’s a sore spot for me.

Carole :: it is basically a night when kids used to play pranks – mainly toilet-papering trees and bushes, soaping the windows on people’s cars, and - for those that take it to an extreme - throwing eggs and smashing pumpkins. :( I’m glad to hear it’s not done all over. Must be a Jersey thing. Oh yay. Sumpin' else to brag about.

LD :: sorry to hear the PF continues to plague. Hope the treatment you get this week helps put you on the road to recovery.

Shelly :: smiled at the vision of you ambushing the UPS man. Glad you had a good run and are being conservative. You ARE insane…how in the hell are you still standing??? ;-) Have fun entertaining tonight!

Wendy :: it’s scary…but I was wondering the same thing about Shelly’s UPS man…lol!

Barb :: glad your new cut is behaving for you. Mine too. It is a chore to straighten it, though. Sometimes it is hard to grade and return things quickly (esp. longer written assignments), but I have been pretty good this year about having a quick turnover. I know the kids are anxious to know. Plus, we post our grades online.

Judy :: YES – hill running is hard on the calves. Definitely. I have hills in every direction and calves have always been a problem. Since I returned to yoga, though, I’ve seen a big improvement. But they do get tight.

Linda :: oh, right! Vegas! Did Mama get a new pair of shoes?? Thanks for sharing the positive reviews about the new workouts. Looking forward to getting mine.

Hi Katrina, Jennifer, Jess, Pamela, and anyone else who drops in tonight.

Cathy - I did get a new pair of Addida Addistar's. I love those shoes! Gret job on the 6 miler!

Shelly - you mean you ran 5 miles, did BM2 and you are now going to do B&G??? Oh my ! Great job! I can't wait to try BM2! I loved B&G and LIC!

FI is my Father In-law. He says he has never been better now that he is on oxygen full time. It has really made my husband want to become super healthy. He already is as he writes for ironmindfitness and wrote a book for them. He is going to (and I am going to join him) give up alchol. Not that we drink a lot but he just wants to be real healthy.

I LOVE CATHE!! Thank-Goodness for Body Fusion it was the perfect workout to get me back on track. It was actually challenging. Tomorrow I will do a 4.5 mile run before the Halloween activities begin.

Is the rotation posted anywhere??

Can't wait till I get my new Cathe's. I will be getting the bonus DVD too!

AACCK!! I’m having issues with Rum Tum Tugger!! My DD13 is into musicals so this year her friend and her decide they’re going to dress up as characters from Cats. Now they are arguing over WHERE they are trick or treating. Of course, no one spoke to me about this at all – I was unaware that I may be roped into driving her friend home who lives 30 minutes away. Oh well… There are so many worse things in life…

Carole – did you do BM2? I enjoyed the upper body from BM1 this morning. And my run. I do love running in the mornings. And I hear ya about the weather. I drive to work shivering and drive home sweating. Go figure!

Katrina – how’s it going? Sounds like a good workout!

Wendy – I LOVE Piglet! He cracks me up! I want to see photos!! I’m so impressed with you for going from no motivation to MIC! Holy moly girl!!!

LD - so sorry to hear you PF is still acting up. Hopefully the doc can help! Enjoy Gauntlet – it’s another of my favorites.

Laurie – Sounds like an absolutely lovely day! There is nothing like lunch with an old friend!

Sunny – hope you had fun with Spin Class! Love the photos! You’re a lovely as your name!

Jennifer – Love BootCamp! I hear Drill Max is similar so I’m stoked!

Barb – I like that idea – a nice long workout of pure stepping fun! I love the step from SJP – it moves so quickly! Hope you get your errands done! I love the iPod idea – how adorable – send photos!!

Jess – Enjoy your parade! I miss my girls when they still thought such things were great. Now they’re too cool! Have a great night.

Shelly – I think AZ is smart. We’re all over here complaining. I don’t mind the fall so much but the spring when we lose an hour of sleep – I’m off for weeks!! Ya wouldn’t think one little hour would create such havoc! I’m excited to hear that BM2 is more challenging than BM1 which remains one of my favorites. Did you survive B&G? Did you yell at DH? How dare he!!!!

Linda – I’m so happy to hear you love the new workouts! I so cannot wait to get them! Did you have a great time in Vegas? And yes, I think Shelly is certifiable – in a good way!

Cathy – I hope they don’t egg your car! That stuff sticks! As parents of a cheerleader, we know this well!

Natalie – Glad you’re back on track! Enjoy your run tomorrow. Glad your DH is fit and healthy. Mine is as well. Diabetes runs in his family – his brother and both sisters have it – but he does not because he eats pretty well and exercises daily.

I did firewalkers & a few of the floor exercises on B&G and loved them:
Bonus Glute squeezes
Hamstring rolls
Inner thighs
The one after that (I'm blanking on the name)
&
The stretch-

Thought they were just great. Variations on old favorites. Really great.

Well, I made up a loose schedule for myself this week even though I don't know how the classes will run at the gym so tomorrow I have S&L on tap. I may add some cardio to it but that will be a last minute decision.
