RE: Cheetahs March 26th

Good Morning Ladies!:)

How as everyone been doing? I had a pretty busy week last week but things are settling down now...although I am in my long week at work;( Oh well....can't have it all!
There is a flight that leaves here today for Cuba and the night before the flight leaves, they drop their prices. All 4 of us could get to Cuba tomorrow, for $1320! Oh man...how nice would that be! Im drolling over here...but with no passports, its pointless! LOL

I ran my first HM yesterday...by myself, on the dreadmill:) I watched "gone baby gone" which was a pretty good movie (I didn't have much hope for it) and I must have gotten a runners high b/c I wasn't in the mood to stop. I can't beleive my knees didn't ache either. I ran 13.1 miles in 2h,5m and 22s. I thought that was pretty good.
Todays workout is going to be circuits. Im just getting off of night shifts though so it will soon be time to go home and hit the sack:)

Have a good day everyone!
Lori:)

Edited to add...LOL IM sooooo confused! All of my checkins have different dates. One as March 24th, this one is March 26th and its only March 25th! WTH is going on??? hehehe

RE: Cheetahs March 26th

hi guys! no, i never got a chance to get caught up on ANYTHING! i had my dreadful early meeting yesterday morning then was at work until i had to go to the eye doctor. after my eyes were dilated i couldn't do much of anything. oh well.

yesterday's workout was lowmax w/ an 8 inch step and 2 5 lb. weights (it's easier to do the hand movements hoding two weights instead of one 8 lb) and the step blast challenge. not sure what today's workout will be. i need to do weights and some cardio, natch. i have a bit of a sore throat and a little stuffy. i am thinking one of my cardio mish moshes on the ext and that's it.

anyway, i wanted to be sure and come by today and wish miss shelly a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! you are SUCH an inspiration!!!

http://bestsmileys.com/birthday2/2.gif

my pet fair is this saturday. i sponsor the humane club at my middle school. i have been doing it for the past five years and it is the biggest club in the school (yay!). anyway, every year i put on this pet fair and every year it gets bigger and bigger. this year, we are partnering with the high school humane club and having it at the high school. we usually get about 300 people just at the middle school so this should be even bigger. it is a HUGE job and i do most of it. so...i am thinking i might be a bit scarce this week because my "down time" will be getting the pet fair ready. last year we adopted out 27 animals!!! we have always had newspaper and news coverage, which is cool. this year, there will be 4 rescue groups coming as well as HSUS, ethical choices for teens, georgia animal rights, we will also have a petting zoo (all rescued animals), and miniature horses. of course, there will be a bake sale, cotton candy, snow cones, pizza, and drinks (dasani and votamin water donated from coke). please cross your fingers (and anything else) for me that we have great weather and it goes well. this will be the first time the high school will be involved and they are really expecting it to be great. yikes...

RE: Cheetahs March 26th

Gm, everyone! Time to catch up with the cheetah babes! :) :) :)

Shelly aka our birthday girl :: what are your plans for your day? Hope it’s a great one!
http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_cake_candle_109224_tns.jpg

Judy :: it’s great to “see” you. I didn’t realize you were away. Where did you go this time? Sounds like it was a lovely holiday weekend with everyone home.

Carole :: the Flair you sent has me LMBO…Ooh, I’m jealous of your massage!…I need to schedule one after I get this stuff done – spending all this time at the computer is giving me hellacious knots!

Dallas :: oh my! You poor thing. Those have been some wicked bugs passing through your house. Hope you were able to get in a nap. *lol’d* at the llama comment. Cute.

Wendi :: the biceps *are* intense in that w/out. Too funny about you & Wendy being twins. We need to see a pic of you now. Hope you made the most of those two days “off.” Nothing wrong with early bedtime when you wake up as early as you do!

Jackie :: are you back in your usual office today?

Christine :: I’m glad to hear your reviews of Newport. I ordered that and Firepower yesterday. So now I have 4 new kb workouts comin’ to me – YEAH! Thanks for posting your rotation. I think that’s what I’ll aim for, too.

Sunny :: I have to get this thing in the mail by the 31st…then I have a test in June. I’ll find out in November if I have to re-do any portions.

Wendy :: glad the Joester had fun at the park…Next ski season is pretty much up in the air on account of the baby’s arrival. I know we won’t be going away at Christmastime like we have for the past two years. But I definitely want you to come to VT for at least one!

Kath :: IA with Wendy. When I ran my half, my long runs were 9-10 miles.

Linda :: no, I haven’t received it yet…The Goddess workout was shipped but the Extreme KB is backordered until today, the notice said…Oh, I hope you do Providence!!!

Lori :: enjoy your circuit today. I’ve heard good things about the movie.

Lorie :: hope you can knock out the sore throat and sniffles…what a great idea for a club!…the fair itself sounds fabulous…my fingers are crossed for you that the weather is perfect for it!

Where has Posh been?

I did not get to IC#2 yesterday...Worked all day. I'm not close to being done, so I hesitate to take time away from it. I had to pick up my films and tried to get into school but no one was there. My principal should be in for a bit today, so I can get into my classroom and get the needed student work. Whew! Anyway, today'll be more writing like a BEAST to try to make this deadline. It'll be a close one. Don't know yet about a workout.

All right, ladies, have a GREAT day!

RE: Cheetahs March 26th

Good morning! Gotta be very short or will be late for work!x( But I was so excited that I finally did my kb workout that I had to post! :>)

Christine, Sunny - Thanks! I will order Extreme.

Cathy - I did do Providence this morning! I loved it! So that was my workout, along with a 5 mile run.

I will be back tonight with some personals! Hope everyone has a great day!

Linda

Good morning loverlies!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHELLY!!!!!!

Sorry, no cool pics or smileys...they freeze up my computer x(.

Quickie check-in this morning. I did Imax 2 + SB Challenge...nice leetle sweatfest!!!

Gotta run or I'll be late to work. I'll catch you all tonight!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY. SHELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You KB girls are making me C-R-A-Z-Y! It's getting reeeeaaaalllly hard to hold out but with NROL coming up in a month..WTH is the point of giving in!?!? AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH! :p :7

So today's work out is supposed to be a Slim Series work out. We'll see if that actually happens or if something else sucks me in instead! LOL I had also planned on doing Ab Jam.

Cathy: VT sounds like a plan to me!:7 So the cute single guy that DH works with is going away on vacation for a freakin' MONTH (must be nice, right!?) starting next week but after he gets back he's up for a casual gtg. ;) Oh, btw, just so you know...I got his age wrong. He's in his late 20's. Hope that's not a problem. :) Sorry you are still so behind on the NB work. I hope you make some head-way soon!

Sunny: Have fun with the MC work out!}(

Lori: Sorry you can't actually hop on that plane to Cuba. You should not have even looked if you couldn't go! Congrats on the new distance!

Lorie: Hope the pet fair goes well.

Linda: Are you a new "victim" of the KB craze? Glad you enjoyed it! I'm fighting like crazy to resist. It just doesn't make sense to get a new toy right now!

Wendi: Great work out! Enjoy your day.

BBL Ladies!

Good morning Cheetahs! I wanted to post a quick HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Shelly! You are the best! I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Life has been so busy. That's why I haven't been able to post very much. DS started his first year of Tball. It is taking up more time than I had anticipated. Also, my knee/leg is really giving me problems still. I haven't been to the doctor because I'm sure he will say don't run and take it easy. It's frustrating being a cheetah that can't run, let alone walk very well at this point. In the meantime I am doing UB work, but I can't do it everyday. My worst fear is gaining a bunch of weight while trying to wait out my injury.

Anyway, I'm hoping to have some free time today to check in with what is going on with everyone. I'll try to BBL.

Good morning lovely cheetahs and thank you so much for the Bday wishes!!! Aw shucks:) I am 51 (gasp) today and I feel alot better then I ever did at 31 or 21 for that matter. I'm here at work and I work tonight also so I will spend today sleeping. I don't normally schedule myself to work on my Bday but it just worked out that way this year.... c'est la vie. We had a little celebration last Sat so that will be it, nothing special planned.

Sunny- tackling Mint Condition again today? And doing an iClimb as well?  Hey, how do you fair on those hanging leg raises... those just kill me!

Lori- WTG getting in that HM on the TM  That isn't easy! Planning
on doing a "real" HM this year? You'd be awesome!

Lorie- Thanks for the Bday greeting! Your Pet Fair sounds so impressive and a LOT of work!!!!! Kudos to you... it must make you feel so good when those animals get homes.

Cathy- My big plans for today -- sleep and more sleep :) :) :)
I'm really amazed at the amount of WORK you are doing for this NB... I sure hope it's worth it!

Linda- another cheetah KB fanatic in the making I see. With my upcoming move I'm holding out until I get settled again and then I'll be checking it out.

Wendi- Nice cardio buttkickin workout for you!! Hope your workday goes smoothly.

Wendy- Thanks for the Bday wishes!! I'm surprised you haven't caved in yet with the kettleballs!!

Kristi- I'm so sorry that your knee is still bothering you:( :( If you still can't even walk well I do hope you see a doc. Yes, they will tell you not to run but it's important to rule out a stress fx, etc. Where is the knee pain anyway? Along the side, back...?
I'm sure you've been icing, etc. Re cardio... if you don't belong to a gym maybe you can just join for a month to have access to a recumbant bike (totally nonimpact). But if your diet is good I don't think you'll have a problem with weight gain.

Gotta go for now. Thanks again everyone!!!
I'll be resting today but may do some core work if I wake up early.

ShellyC

Good Morning Cheethas!

First and foremost:

Shelly!! http://www.freefever.com/animatedgifs/animated/birthday12.gif Hope it’s a good one and work is kind to you! 51 eh? I’m in awe. Enjoy your sleeping!

Sunny – Oh, you’ll love Firepower. Newport uses only one kb. In fact many of the exercises use no kbs – it’s a kb/body weight workout. But tough! Enjoy Mint Condition.

Lori – Cuba would be fun! That’s someplace I would like to see. Good job on running 13.1 miles on a dreadmill! I’m amazed you could do that! That’s too funny about the check ins. I guess people are confused this morning.

Lorie – Sounds like a great workout! Oh, that fair sounds really great! I hope you have even more success this year with adopting out friends! If you’re working on your dissertation AND pulling this off?! You are amazing lady!

Cathy – You’ve been assimilated, eh? :p Kettlebells are fun! You have great workouts coming! You’ll enjoy them. I adore Anthony, too. He’s so motivating – especially during Newport (he thanks his doctors at the end). I watch him do something and think, “Well, jeez, I’m not recovering from chemo – I SHOULD be able to do this!” But it didn’t get me through that last set of pushups. :p Good luck getting LOTS done today!

Linda – you’ll enjoy Extreme! Have fun! Providence is wonderful, isn’t it? Way to go with getting it done!

Wendi – wow! That is a sweatfest! You are serious in your quest to get that weight off before Sunday! :p Good job!

Wendy – Well, you like to lift heavy, and kbs are not heavy lifting – you probably will like your traditional exercises better. :p Does that help? Have fun choosing your workout! You’ll have to change your name to Match Maker Cheetah! :p

Kristi – I’d recommend going to the doctor – if it’s still bothering you, it could be something really wrong. Hope it feels better soon!

You ladies are chatty this morning! :+ Today is my rest day. I’m tired! If I feel up to it, I’ll do Yoga Burn. If not, I won’t. My alarm went off and I reset it for ½ an hour later. The alarm was buzzing again before I knew it! I was in the middle of a dream about 3 naked men throwing the shotput in a field. I’m not even going to TRY to analyze that one! They did have really nice muscles… :+

Shelly - 51 years YOUNG girl! You are an inspiration to us all. I'm sorry you have to work on your birthday. What kind of bday plans do you have? A nice dinner? Sleep is always nice. Re: my knee/leg, It is very unusual what I am experiencing. The pain area is not consistent. When it initially started it was the back of the knee. I could and still can bend the knee with no pain or problems. However bending, even slightly, and applying pressure is the problem. I think my problem might be muscular in nature. After a few days of knee problems, it went away only to be replaced by lower calf pain. Then after 2 days of that the top inside part of my knee has started to hurt alot. The last 4 nights I've had to ice it in hopes of helping with the pain. During the mornings it seems to be okay with minimal pain, but by the end of the day I'm limping. Sorry this sounds so confusing. It has perplexed me that the pain has shifted. The only consisent pain through all of this has been when doing things like walking up stairs.

Good morning cheetahs

http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u94/glitterfy/graphics/33/bday_balloon_bundle_2.gif[/img] to Shelly!!!!!

Sunny...have fun with mint cond and iClimb today!

Lori..good job with the HM on the TM!

Lorie...wow, the pet fair sounds like a great thing!! I will keep my fingers crossed for good weather for you...:)

Cathy...glad you liked that Flair, I cracked up when I saw it because it is the EXACT same design on DH's shirt...:D...I think a massage would do you some good after the long PC hours...Sending you good, strong writing vibes...

Linda...the massage was just what I needed. Sounds like you enjoyed Providence.

Dallas...so sorry about ds5 having the croup! I hope it clears up so along with the other stuff going on. Amazing you have been able to get in your workouts. LOL about the bunny/llama!!

Wendi...interesting as way back when I started running, it was for weight management and then a few years into it, it became the addiction it is now!! I can join your DSO too with the minor injuries lately...the massage was wonderful...:)..Good job with Imax2 and SB.

Wendy..the massage was great. I guess it is true you never know why kids do what they do sometimes. Glad you got to get Joey outside for a bit yesterday. So are we the only 2 kettelbelless cheetahs??...:)..Have a good workout.

Kristi...sorry about the knee pain. I agree a regular Doctor might not be a good choice but a Physical Therapist will actually work with letting you exercise while treating the injury..:)

Jackie...hope your busy monday went well! You got in a good workout. I loved the massage...

Shelly...The Vegan Planet is definitely my most used cookbook!! A few of the pages are falling out. I got mine at Barnes & Noble. You should use that certificate and get a massage...Sorry you have to work on your B-day, but glad you got to celebrate last weekend.

Christine...actually there is usually wine hid with the beer too. There were 4 little wine bottles this year. About the only wine I like is White Zin, and the other sweeter one that I can't spell but it starts with a G..:)..The joke one year is that we would hid 40oz beers and drink them out of a paper bag...and get quite blitzed I would think. LMAO about your dream!!!! Enjoy your rest day...

Kath...we do have the same thing in common with DH's home to mess up our schedules!!...:)...12 week training sounds good for a 10K. It never hurts to do some speedwork also.

I scored the Perfect Push-ups at Rite-Aid yesterday for $20, I might have to try them for fun today!

I am doing CTX biceps, abs and PLB standing (freestyle) maybe in a circuit with my EXT. The massage was so nice but for some reason my lower back is talking to me (which was before the massage)...glad I have the day off so I can ice these sore areas...

Have a great day...

Good morning Cheetahs!

Shelly - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you have spectabulous day! Age ain't nothing but a number, right? :) You're really moving right along with that packing. I plan on starting this weekend. Really not looking forward to it. I have 'Becoming a Vegan" and a cookbook that has recipes with 5 ingredients or less. I can't recall the name right now.

Wendi - You would think work could wait while we get in our workouts. But, no, for some reason we have to hit that clock. :)Glad SO did well with the 3 miles.

Christine - Glad you felt that core workout. Makes it worth it! I have the good desserts when I go out since I'm not very good at making my own. Enjoy your rest day!

Kath - Good luck with the 10K training. Know that speed will get better. Good job with the tempo run. Those are the hardest for me. I feel them the rest of the day.

Sunny - I know DS is so excited about getting new shoes and training for his 5K. Nice workout today.

Wendy - Nice mish mosh yesterday. Did Joey enjoy the park? It's nice to get out and enjoy the nice weather. If it wasn't for the new house, I probably would be on that KB band wagon too. But, I must resist. I must resist. I must resist at least until after April. :)

Linda - Hope you enjoyed your rest day. Mom is doing much better, thank you. Her sister from Milwaukee has been visiting with her for the last couple of days. She's enjoying the company. Glad you enjoyed your first KB workout.

Lori - What a shame you couldn't take advantage of that great price to Cuba. Would be a nice get away. Good job on the 13.1 miles.

Lorie - Good job on getting the workouts in. Hope that stuffy nose doesn't amount to much. Enjoy your workout. Good luck with your pet fair this weekend.

Cathy - I'm back in my usual office today. Actually I work in the other office at least 2 days a week. I like the office but hate the 30 minute drive where I normally only have a 5 minute drive. So, you're loving the KB workouts. That's good. Hope you see some great results. Keeping my fingers crossed for you to make that deadline.

Kristi - Good luck to DS. ((((HUGS)))) to you. Hope that knee gets better soon so you can get back on the running track. Maybe you'd better not wait too long to see a doctor if it continues to give you problems.

Today's workout was iTread #12 45 minutes and some foam rolling. Hope that will help with my achy hip.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Jackie

Carole - We were posting at the same time. Glad you enjoyed your massage. I still have 5 waiting for me. Will probably start in May using those up and then I'll probably cancel the membership. It will be easier for me to schedule when it's convenient for me. Another PP convert. Can't wait to hear how you like them. Enjoy your workout and your day off.

Jackie

Good morning Chatty Cheetahs :) :)

Happy to report my 4mile run. Did some GIANT sets for the shoulders. And also worked my abs to Coremax.
I'm looking fwd to a hot shower now. I wonder if it will ever warm up in New York. I swear I have glaciers at the end of my driveway. :) :)

Lori: Wow 13.1 on the TM. You go Girl. I kinda get bored with doing 12 on the track. I feel like I'm running in circles :) Cuba would be so nice-- and warm right now :)

Lorie: Sounds like a great cause you belong to. I can't understand why people are cruel to animals.

Shelly: Happy Birthday. It's too bad you are working on your special day.

Cathy: You sound like you have a busy day ahead of you

Wendy: Thanks for the encouraging words on the HM. My DH was away over night-- I so enjoyed MY time :) It's funny I asked "OH you HAVE to come back tonight?" LOL :) :)

Kristi: Ouch on your knee pain. Don't let that go too long. You don't wanna be laid up longer than need be.

Christine: Enjoy your rest day

Ok I need a shower. I'll be back to catch up on more personals while I inhale my big a$$ salad :) :)

Thanks everyone for your encouragement on going to see the doctor re my knee/leg. If I’m not better by tomorrow then I will make an appointment. My HM is a little over a month away, I don’t want to miss out on it even if I have to walk part of the course.

Sunny D – What is Mint Condition? Is it a kettleball workout? I guess kettleballs are the new craze for the cheetahs. For the time being I will be sitting this one out. I don’t want to buy any more fitness equipment until probably STS comes out. However, I have been eyeing squat stands with some interest.

Lorie – Congrats on running your first HM on the treadmill. Great job! For that kind of mileage I always watch a movie to pass the time too, preferably one I haven’t seen before so I won’t be looking at the mileage on the screen. Enjoy your circuit workout. A trip to Cuba sounds so nice right now. What a shame you can’t go with the family. That is a good deal!

Wendy – Like the new do. It will take me a little while to get use to you having curly hair. How do you like NROL? I bought the book months ago, glanced through it, didn’t like it, and then returned it. I may need to rebuy the book and see what I missed. Right now I can’t even remember what I didn’t like about it.

Lorie – You must be so ready for your spring break with all of the early morning meetings you have been having lately. Good luck with your pet fair. It sounds like a lot of work, but so rewarding too.

Cathy – Good luck getting your paper done. It amazes me how much you have to do for NBs. You are doing great!! The workouts will be there waiting for you when you need a stress reliever and when your NB work is completed. Don’t feel bad about missing a workout.

Linda – Glad you liked your new workout! Great 5 mile run too! So we have another kettleball cheetah in our mists. This must be the new cheetah craze. I will be resisting this one, I hope.

Wendi – Great workout!! How’s your work going lately? Where I live we will be hosting the 2010 Equestrian Games. Will you be training any horses or anything for this?

Christine – Nice dream. LOL Some dreams are better not analyzed. Enjoy your rest day. It sounds like you are loving your kettleballs.

Carole – Your massage sounds heavenly! How are your injuries healing? If I remember correctly you have been an injured cheetah too. Enjoy your rest day! I hope the icing down helps. Seeing a PT is a good idea. I never thought of that. Thanks for the advice.

Jackie – Thanks for the advice. I think I might go see the doctor the end of this week if this doesn’t get better. Great workout! How’s the new house coming along?

Well, I need to get going to lunch. I’ll try to BBL. WAVES to Kath, Judy, and all Cheetahs I may be missing.

Hola, cheetahs!

It’s been a productive morning for me. I just came back from the post office and from school, where I’d left the student assignment I *desperately* needed for one of my portfolios. WHEW!!! Now I’ll play catch up while I take a lunch break. I ordered some Chang’s to go. Yum.

Wendy :: your Wii is now in the mail…wheeeeee! :7 I had it insured, so with shipping and everything the total cost was $280.89. You should have it Thursday or Friday at the latest. Enjoy! :) :) :) Glad you’re in for VT…I don’t know enough about NROL to know whether or not the kb’s will pose a conflict, but I do know they cost a pretty penny, so if you have NROL and then presumably STS lined up, maybe it doesn’t make sense for you to invest just yet. There, I did my best to save you some money. :7

Kristi :: so sorry about the ongoing knee/leg problems. If mere walking is an issue, I do think you should have it checked rather than risk prolonged or further injury. When you say back of the knee, do you mean behind the kneecap? If so, it sounds a little like chondromalacea. I had it in college and stairs were extremely difficult…thanks for the support!

Shelly :: your stamina and energy absolutely put me to shame! Would that we all looked that good at 51…rock on! Yes, I am dumbstruck by the amount of work this requires, too. *lol* It sure is worth it, though. No doubt.

Christine :: Oh yes, I’m totally on board. I read that there are outtakes on Providence. I have to check those out. I laughed like hell about your dream. Enjoy your rest day (if you take it).

Carole :: I did not have the…uh, gall, to put up that Flair on my board. It does make me laugh, though. As did Yoda. Thank you for the vibes. It’s working! :)

Jackie :: I’m glad your aunt has been around to help with your mom and keep her company…I am about a 30-minute drive from my work as well. It’s only the afternoon commute that can be slow, but I can appreciate lovin' a short commute. Hope the foam rolling helped the hip some.

Kath :: great workout! I am with you – I cannot run loops. Or the TM for very long actually. I get bored. Need to be outside.

OK, I'm caught up with the lovelies. Am considering a short nap before I resume my work. Better set an alarm. :)

Cathy: The check will be in the mail tmrw! Thanks soooo much!:7 :7 :7 :7

BBL for personals. Going to MIL's for dinner and have to get cleaned up first. Just finished Tone It Up (minus ab work at end) and Ab Jam. The upper body work in Tone It Up was quite the challenge as I'm STILL a bit sore from ME! Yeowzas!

Later babes!:*
