:::CHEETAHS::: IT'S TUESDAY:::

gdixson

Cathlete
I am in better spirits this morning! :)

Cathy: This is my 7th year. Not a veteran yet, but have learned a lot along the way!

Christine: Thanks for understanding! :)

My leg is feeling better. I am going to run I think. DH is sleeping on the couch because I was snoring last night. Can't do anything in the living room. Not sure if I will be back later because I have to be at a 5th/6th grade band conference at the high school at 6:30.

Good morning, cheetah babes! :7

Gloria ~ glad to hear you're feeling better -- both your leg *and* your spirits. Chalk it up to a really craptastic Monday...Hey, me, too - I'm in my 7th year also. :) That's funny. Have a good run.

Christine ~ are they also known as sheep dogs or am I completely mixed up? They do look funny when in motion. I think you & Lance Armstrong inspired a dream I had last night. (I just finished his memoir the other day.) At one point in the dream, I was riding a bike outdoors - a borrowed one - and realized how much I miss that. You really have me thinking I'm going to give the spinning class a shot when the next session of classes starts up at school.

Wendy ~ glad you reached your decision. That'll probably time it perfectly for the release of STS, and then you'll be able to segue right into a new challenge. How're things with your BMF? Better?

OK, better get myself in motion here. If I don't have to work too late, it'll be a run for me this afternoon. Otherwise, I might switch up and do weights. We'll see.

Have a great day, everyone!

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Good Morning beautys :) :) :)

Christine: Does your DH cook often? I haven't tried many Indian dishes..are they spicey? LOL at the dog pictures. I always wanted a *sheep* dog growing up. Then a friend of my brother's gave us the pick of the litter of retrievers and well--let's just say I changed my mind real quick :) Chicago sounds like fun. My brother did the Chicago marathon last year. He said it was crazy with the heat.

Carole: Sorry I read your post wrong about your friend.I'm sure she still enjoyed talking to you. Cancer affects everyone.

Dallas: I kept that lilttle boy in my prayers yesterday. Have you heard anything about the surgery?

Gloria: Glad to hear your leg is better.Wise to play it safe. Did you ever get your picture to load?

Cathy: I'm really into my upright bike on cross training days. It has lots of programs on it and I can get a good sweat in. Dh and I have bikes we take out sometimes on the road. Only thing I hate is being chased by a dog  DD had her interview--thanks for asking about it. They basically said she has the job pending background. We were able to gather all material needed for it. Thankfully the department said originals were not needed--saves me a 1 hour trip to get them to her. But things look real good. I hope she hears before Saturday as that her lease is done the 19th. She asked the landlord if she could at least stay til August if she gets the job and she said she didn't think it would be a problem. It's student housing and its convient but she said she is so done with living in dorm like settings :)

Wendy: Did you make up your mind about which work out you are going to do? I'm so tempted to start NROL. I'm curious what Judy's thoughts are.

Today I think I'm doing HIIT and working my triceps til they scream }( DH golfs tonight in his league so DD and I will hit the mall to hunt down a dress or two for grad party and a few awards banquets.

I'm curious how many workouts you girls own. I hear you all mention diff workouts/dvds you have. I feel like my supply is real low --what's your favorite? I guess I am itching for new stuff --gotta keep the spice in the sweatfest :)

Ok need a refill--I shall return :*

Good morning Cheetah babes!

Very MIA Cheetah reporting in! Sorry about the absence...between horse showing, two coffee makers that decided to quit on me (NOT good at 2:30 AM), moving our operation back to our farm, plans with DSO and kitten-care I have been literally non-stop since *last* Sunday. Someone really needs to work on developing a 36 hour day LOL! I might have a shot at getting everything caught up then :p. I haven't even had a chance to call my grandmothers and mother and wish them a happy Mom's Day...that should happen tonight. I know, I know, terrible *hangs head in shame*!!

More embarrassing is the fact that yesterday was the first time I had a chance to get a workout in in more than a week...*hangs head in shame again* LOL. I figured I had to make up for lost time (and a lot of dinind out with DSO :9 x() and did my mega mish mosh }(...Viper, followed by BM2 finished combos x2, BM2 power circuits, CM #1. I can't tell ya how good it felt to get back into the swing of things :D.

I *was* supposed to go for a run this morning but opted for coffee and kitten time instead. Besides, I ddin't get to bed until late because of LaundryMax and my booty has some major DOMS goin' on, gee I wonder why :p! I'll probably be able to get that in after work tonight though.

I'm going to go refill my java (from my new Brewstation...YAY!) and *try* to catch up with everyone. BBIAB!

Cathy - Wow, it sounds like you've really got the workload right now! IA with your rationale about the TL position and am glad that the principal understands.

Kath - How did DD's interview go??? Have fun dress hunting.

Wendy - LOL about your poll of what rotation you should do next! I hope you have a good time with NROL come Sunday. So, when both of my coffee makers bit the dust (the original and the spare that I kept just in case) I naturally had to think of you :p. Me, that early in the morning, in the middle of horse showing, with no coffee...NOT a pretty picture. So what did I do...boiled some water, poured over coffee grounds, let sit for a few minutes then poured through strainer with a filter sitting in it and, voila, coffee!

Uhhh, gotta go for a minute. Four cop cars just drove *very* slowly down my street...

Alrighty, no idea what that was about but I get kinda leary about things like that after what happened last summer.

Gloria - So sorry to hear about the personnel change :(. I'm glad you're a bit more chipper this morning. Enjoy your run!

Lorie - Oh, OWIE!!! I hope you're feeling better this morning. Your school gets out in 2 weeks?!?! That's early! Ours don't get out until late June.

Christine - Wow, you've been eating well lately I see :9! I'll have to go back and see what the occasion was. Ooh, nice workout yesterday! LOL about the living dust mop! I always look at those dogs and just shake my head and ask "why?" I have to agree with Cathy...you would make a great boss.

Dallas - That little boy will be in my prayers. Do you know how he's doing today?

Carole - I'm glad you were able to get for a run with your friend. Her mother will be in my prayers.

Posh - Oh, have fun with 4DS!!! Personally, it's my favorite series so far!

Frantically waving HI to the rest of Cheetahville! I'll try to get back here tonight after my run. With DSO out of town for the next few days it should be a bit easier to get everything done.

Ciao for now! Have a wonderful day!

**Another Missing Cheetah Returning to the Den**

We managed to get DS home from Bc and DD had her regatta in Saratoga~ lovely place!!!! And get most of the laundry that came with the above clean. And we had mothers Day. DD made it through her AP exams and only has a biology IB exam this week now.

DH surprised me for mothers day with an iPhone! (Christine I may need you for a tutorial) I have been spending every spare minute getting my address book/contact list transfered. I have an older PC without Outlook, so it has been a bit challenging. So far I can not get my calendar switched unless I manually put it all in. But I do think it is a great phone plus all in one organizer.

Kath- I do think NROL4W is a great program. I am sold on working multiple body parts at once versus exhausting only one muscle group.

Wendy- Are you going to start NROL4W ? I am finishing stage 1 on Friday. My advice is to start moderate in increase weights every workout as tolerated. If you can do more reps/sets than prescribed, be sure to increase for next workout. I am amazed that my deadlifts so far are up to 90# BB. Squats are at 79.5. Even shoulder press got up to 23# DBs.

Shoot it is 7 o'clock and I have to get kids moving. I do not know if I will get back here today or not.

TaTa friends :)

Good Morning Girls!

Happy Birthday to Me!:+ I just ordered a weighted vest with some of the money I got for my B'day! I'm very excited! Since there is no way a squat rack is going to happen for me in this little house, the weighted vest was my only option. I got one that adjusts up to 40 pounds. I can lift up to about 60 over my head so this vest should work for me for a while. ;) YAY! :)

Now that I've made the decision to start NROL, which, btw, I may even start BEFORE Sunday now :p , I am so excited to get going with it! It's what prompted the purchase of the vest. Initially I was going to wait to buy one until STS was being shipped but me thinks I'll need it sooner now. }( I am even tempted to go buy a stability ball so I don't have to wait until Monday to start it! Am I crazy or what? All of this coming from a girl who just last month couldn't imagine doing this rotation right now. LOL It's funny how things can change so quickly. :p

I woke up last night after having slept for only about an hour and had a hard time falling back to sleep so I'm a bit tired today. Looks like I'll be heading for a nap later...;)

I plan on hitting the gym today to do either ITread 13 or 19/30 minutes sprints. I am PRAYING my TM issue is resolved and I'll be able to give it my all. If not, I may force myself to just use the elliptical instead so that I don't get frustrated. I also have BBC F/B on tap. Initially wanted to do it this morning but at this point I don't think that is going to happen. Oh well, nap time is always good...UNLESS I hit Target this morning and grab a ball...:7

Yeah, I know. I'm crazy and I know y'all are laughing at me right now. Go on...you can admit it! :)

Lorie: (((HUGS))), I hope your shoulder is okay. Go get it checked out if you aren't feeling better soon!!!!

Christine: Jump Snap is fun. It's a nice option for cardio and easily makes any work out a circuit!:) Sound like you had fabulous brunch and dinner for Mother's day. Glad you enjoyed it. The original BM, huh? It's been ages since I've done that one. I seem to say that about alot of work outs lately! LOL Loved the funny pic of the dog but how on earth do you take care of that coat!?!? It kinda reminds me of dreadlocks. LOL I'll betcha i's alot of work. Thanks for your take on Slo Mo. I'll get back to it someday. :p

Dallas: Look at you on week 12 of the X! YAY! Good job! Will you be giving up a synopsis of your results when you are done?

Carole: Yes, I misread your post about the woman with cancer for sure. Sorry 'bout that. Blind Cheetah here! LOL Glad your whiney, sick DH hibernated in the bedroom most of the day. I love it when my sick DH does that. :)

Cathy: Now I have to put Yoga for Happiness on my wish list!;)LOL about the similar email and our great minds. Very true. :) Glad you made a decision you are comfortable with and the fact that the original TL is going to come back to the job is even better!

Gloria: My boyfriend from way back when showed me how to change a tire. He was a mechanic so there was no way I was escaping that! LOL Glad your leg feels better! :)

Posh: Enjoy 4DS! That's some AWESOME weight work!

PHEW! Okay that catches me up on y'day's personals. I'll get goin' on today's a bit later.

Hope everyone has a happy Tuesday!

Good Morning Cheetahs! It’s NOT Monday! YEAH! http://www.clipartof.com/images/emoticons/thumbnail2/1961_pom_poms.gif

Gloria – 7 years of teaching, and you still love it! Wonderful! We need more teachers like you and Cathy! Glad your leg is feeling better. It’s my DH who snores, usually only after too many CABS. :p Hope you get a workout in!

Cathy – Spinning!!! Yes! It would be great cross training for your running, too. I love spinning! I’m just thrilled to be mentioned in the same sentence as Lance Armstrong! :+ Komondors are more guardian dogs – bigger than standard sheep dogs they were bred to look like sheep so they could hide in the herd and ward off predators. Have fun with whatever you get in today!

Kath – DH cooks every now and again. He has about 4 meals that he can make really well. And of course, it’s BBQ season and that’s a “man’s” job – hey it’s less work for me, so I let him do that. I do the majority of the cooking so I know what goes into the food. :+ Indian food CAN be spicy, but he doesn’t make it too much so. It depends on the region the chef comes from, really. Southern Indian dishes tend to be hotter. But I love spicy! I couldn’t imagine a sheep dog – they are soo furry! And blow coat once a year – what a mess! But they are adorable. Goldens are wonderful, wonderful dogs, though.

Wendi!!! I’m so happy you’re back! I was thinking about you last night. Wow! You are one busy lady!! Hope you get to at least talk to your mom and grandma tonight! Sounds like a killer workout you got there! Wow! I’d have booty DOMS too! Great job! Glad the coffee maker is working – so sorry it went out at 2:30AM twice! That would suck BIG TIME!!! I HAVE to get back on track! DH is gone most of this week, so it’s a good time to do it. I was good yesterday. :p *Blushes* I appreciate that you think I’d make a good boss.

Judy – Funny – I was thinking about you too! Nice DH! Have fun with your iPhone! I’m always available for a tutorial – but they are so user friendly that you probably won’t have any issues. Bummer about the calendar, though. Mine syncs right up. Glad to hear the kids are well! Sounds like a nice weekend! A regatta in Saratoga, NY – how pretty!

Wendy – Congrats on the weighted vest! I’m with you – I never know what I’ll feel like doing from one week to the next! :p That dog does have dreads. The coat does that naturally. You just have to help “encourage” the formation of the chords, or they turn into a matted mess. They wash just like any other dog, but take a LONG time to dry. It would just be weird to me, though. I’ll stick to my Aussies. :p I love you colorful post.

Well, it going to be HOT this week! In the high 90’s. Weird weather. Today will be Hi/Lo Knockout. My abs are sore from yesterday, so it’ll be cardio only. :p I’m looking forward to it as I haven’t done it for a while. Just DD15 and me again tonight. It’s a nice switch every now and again. I can make very light meals and everyone is happy. Have a great Tuesday all!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..Yep, twisted is accurate!! Enjoy your run or weights later.

Gloria...DH was not in the way much yesterday. I am just so used to him being at work on my mondays OFF work!! Sorry about the camera issues...and sorry too abut the parapros new schedule...:(...glad to hear DH has some insight on the subject. So where is the pain in your leg? LOL about YOU snoring...:)

Kath...not a problem about the post!! Cancer is just a devastating disease..I have never counted my workouts! I have a lot. The ones I use most are Cathe and Amy Bento's lately.

Wendi...not to worry about being MIA as you have had one hectic schedule. Great workout yesterday...thank you for your prayers for my friends Mom...:)

Judy...Congrats on the iPhone. They are cool but outta my league..:)

Wendy...good job ordering the weighted vest!! I think you should get the stability ball too...I was glad DH mostly hibernated yesterday...I am just spoiled and miss my days off work without him here!!

Christine...LOL about the dustmop dog!! I could not imagine having a dog that looked like that...and ALL that hair!!! We are having a hot trend too...100 by thursday!! Enjoy hi/lo knockout.

Posh..Hope you enjoy the 4DS workouts!

Today I am doing squats and calf work, abs and a 4 mile hill repeat run.

Have a great day...:)

Hello Cheetahs!

We didn't hear anything until this AM because the surgery got bumped a couple of times. Thanks for the prayers for the family and their son. It's just such an unbelievable thing. I was just sitting next to the mom and her son a week ago today. I was even commenting on big he's gotten over the winter. :( How could so much change in such a short amount of time!?!!? ETA: I forgot to tell you about the surgery....they removed the one kidney and the tumor. It may have spread to his lungs. They found that out before the surgery. :( That's all we know right now.

Cathy ~ That's awesome that the principal considered you! What an honor. :) Glad it all worked out though. You sound like you have a lot on your plate platter!

Wendy ~ So, it's NROL..? Have fun! I want to give that a try too, but now I'll put it on the back burner. I want to focus on shorter weights and more running. I have used Slow Motion in a three week rotation. I like it, but I think two sets of legs is plenty. :p IA w/what Christine said about it. Nice colors, btw. Well, I was very bad about taking pictures, but I did take some measurements. I'll have to redo that when I finish. My BF% went down!!! :)

Lorie ~ Are you OK? I'd definitely get that checked out. That's scary.

Christine ~ Glad you enjoyed your brunch. They food was all too yummy at ours too! :) lol'd at that dog picture! :7 Love your little non-Monday cheerleader. :) Enjoy HLKO - still have to tackle that one!

Carole ~ Did you survive your day off w/DH!?!? ;-) Enjoy those hills after doing squats & calf work! You're a machine! }(

Gloria ~ We went to the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago...."My kind of town..." Cathy, Posh, Christine & Carole just for you! ;-) I haven't been to that zoo in a long time. There's another popular one that we usually frequent. It's so weird looking at the animals and then in the background seeing skyscrapers. :) What happened to your leg? Has the pain subsided?

Kath ~ Are you sure you want to know what we all own!??!?! }( Get your credit card handy! lol re:soccer - Our kids started w/the kiddie clinic...we've come a long way from that. ;-) When will your DD decided on her college?

Wendi ~ Your days sound like mine. Even DD told me I looked really tired this AM. She said I should go to bed earlier. :+ OK, when is all this stuff going to get done around here esp since I haven't been home much! Don't get me started about the laundry room. Hang in there girl! (((HUGS))) What happened last summer?

Judy ~ Another busy Cheetah! Enjoy your iPhone. Dh just got me a Blackberry...it confused the heck out of me. However, I'm slowly getting used to it...it just keeps calling random ppl though. ha ha I miss my flip phone that never happened. Great job on the weight increases!

Heather ~ Welcome to the Cheetahs Den! :)

I wonder how Kristi is doing? How Shelly and Jackie's move went? Has Sunny heard anymore about the University job?

Hi Posh, Linda and any other Cheetahs I missed!

Oh, I did 40 on the EXT and a 20 minute stretch. I'm about to do P90X-Chest, shoulder and Triceps. DS5 has an eye exam for kindergarten registration this morn, so better get moving!

hey ladies,

no time for real personals right now (sorry) however i wanted to check in with ya:)

dallas- i haven't heard anything re: the university position. your friends have been in my prayers.

wendy- glad you made a decision. i may join you and judy in the check in even though i am not doing nrolw. however i am still doing a alwyn program! you will now have to find some stadium stairs close by and run them wearing your weighted vest...OUCH

carole- your friend's mother has definitely been in my prayers and i will continue to pray for her.

judy- i too got a new phone for mother's day. a palm centro (sp?) now i now longer have to carry around my big @ss appt. book. lol

yesterday's workout was a 3 mile run using the track at the ywca and 20 min kettlebell cardio circuit from steve cotter.

today is my afterburn workout followed by HIIT on the TM!! can't wait for another puke status workout. i know...i am so sick}(

hello to all of you in cheetahville. will try to get back later for more personals.

ttyl....:)

Carole - I guess those dogs actually don’t shed much – it all goes into their dreadlocks! :p Stay cool today! We’re only to get up into the 90’s. Fortunately it’s usually nice and cool in the mornings.

Dallas – Your friend’s son remains in my prayers. I could not imagine the terror she is feeling for her son! I would be absolutely beside myself. Prayers for her and the family, too. Oh, you HAVE to do HLK – that is one of Amy’s best ones! I really enjoy it. Not a steep learning curve, just a lot of energy!

Hey Sunny – You liking Steve Cotter? I really enjoy his workouts. Enjoy your puke status workout, you tiger/cheetah you! :p

Oh wow – my abs are SORE from the BOSU yesterday. I’m actually pretty sore all over. I did enjoy HLK, but I was happy when it was over! I did a nice long stretch and am now feeling pretty good – except for the sore abs, which I actually really like. :p I’m sure I’ll check in again later…

christine- i do like his style. wasn't sure at first he would really get my heartrate up but he did and my hamstrings are feeling tight from the single leg suitcase deadlifts!! enjoy those sore abs}(

wendy- check your pm's.:)

cathy- so have you made a final decision re: your work dilemna? have you seen wii ski?

Afternoon Cheetahs :)

Happy to report a sweaty HIIT workout this morning. Triceps will be screaming tomorrow --I hope }(

Weather is nice in NY today--tomorrow it is suppose to be even nicer which is good cause I have to clean up the deck and wash down patio stuff for the grad party Saturday.

Hope everyone has a great afternoon-- I may be back before I go dress shopping :)

Afternoon

I'm happy to say I won't have to do those floor fly's, clap push ups (which I did on my knees and they were still hard!), and one armed push ups (again on my knees, but I did much better this time around :)) for awhile. However, I think Cathe is using a lot of plate action in STS. I felt the burn this morn, but happy it's done! Glad I did ARX y-day!

Christine ~ Thanks a lot. I want to get in touch with their neighbors and get in on the meal rotation. They did that when the mom had breast cancer not long ago. :( Hopefully, we can help them out with transportation for the other kids to the baseball fields. My heart is so heavy for them. I just well up with tears anytime I think of it. I'll definitely be playing around with some of the DVDs I haven't "really" tried now that the X is almost over. ;)

Sunny ~ There you are! Keep us posted about the job! Great workout! Thanks for the prayers for them. The more prayers the better.

Kath ~ Great job on your workout!

DS is a little far-sided, but the doc said we'll keep our eye, no pun intended :7, on him and recheck in 6 months - 1 year.

OK, going to go tackle the laundry room...wish me luck. ;-) We have a softball game tonight, so I'll **see** tomorrow. :) You Cheetahs are the best! :D

Hey Chickie-Doodles. :)

Just finished day one of NROL4W! Told you BBC wouldn't last once I decided to do NROL! LOL I went out to Target this morning and bought myself a new stability ball. I was able to inflate that sucker in 5 mins flat with the new pump I got from our Cheetah grab bag! WOW-that thing is AWESOME!:+

Anywhooo...in addition to the ball I also bought a new shiny garbage can for my bathroom, a plastic rolling storage system for all of the little toys that DS has that drive me nuts cause they fall to the bottom of the toy box or get lost in the house since there is no proper palce to keep them, a new pair of lifting gloves cause the ones DH got me for Christmas were a leetle too small so they would dig in between my fingers-OUCHEES, a 15# *cough cough* and diapers and new sox for the kiddo. Yeah...so much for the Target ban, ey? :p

So after NROL I did half of Interval X+. I ended up having to bag the gym idea. Not enough time today. Oh well. No biggie. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to work this yet. I'll be doing some trail and error with the order of my work outs and such. I lifted pretty light today. Too light most likely. Even to start out with but I am afraid of stalling on the weight increases. This way I know I will definately be able to up the weight steadily based on what I started with.

I'm off in search of the NROL check-in. I'll be back for personals though!:7

Afternoon, cheetahs!

Quick break for me. I'd planned to stay at school and get as much grading done as possible, but I kept getting interrupted by drop-by visitors, so I packed up a bunch of notebooks and decided to take the work home. I think I will merely double up workouts tomorrow, so I can make good headway with this. My deadline looms.

So on that note, let me catch up with my girls and then crack open the gradebook. :)

Kath ~ sounds like very good news for DD! Let us know when you hear. I think I am getting some of the cheetah offspring confused. Tell me again what her profession is. How did the dress shopping go?

Wendi ~ ain't no reason to hang your head in shame, woman. Your work keeps you crazy-busy, and the life interruptions that happen and now and then are understandable. Sometimes ya gotta do what you gotta do. You more than make up for it! I am in the same boat more or less with the mid-MP deadline. I *have* to get these grades in. Sometimes our work just has to be a priority. So, any idea why the po-po were on your block?

Judy ~ congrats on your new iPhone...they are sah-weet! :) Continued good luck to DD for her final final.

Wendy ~ where did you find your vest? Amazon? I would like to get one of those also. Were you supposed to go back to your ban? I hadn't realized.

Christine ~ love the little anti-Monday cheerleader...90s already? Wow, that *is* hot. Enjoy your night with just DD15. I need to get on that eating light wagon. That BOSU does fry the abs, doesn't it?

Carole ~ OK, we're twisted, but at least we keep ourselves amused. :7 I am having Scramble withdrawal. I better get over to FB so you can kick my booty some more. Just wondering: about how long do you spend working out per day?

Dallas ~ aww, the poor little guy. Will pray they nipped it all and it hasn't spread. And this is on the heels of the mom's breast cancer??? Awful!...So are there are any must-see Chicago sights for that weekend that you'd recommend? I once accidentally dialed a Cali cheetah on my way to work (3 am for her!) because something banged into my phone and dialed a random # in my contacts. Now I figured out how to lock the keys.

Sunny ~ will keep the fingers crossed the team gig comes through for ya...Yeah, I posted yesterday afternoon that the situation resolved itself already, luckily. The former TL *does* want to resume her role. Haven't received my Wii Ski yet but am loving Mario Kart.

OK, duty calls! Have a great night!
