<<--CHEETAHS-->> happy sunday!

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs! :) :) :)

Happy Sunday means run, don't walk—'specially 'cuz a bus is coming! :)

I have no idea why I still wake up so early even on the weekends—especially after a night out :p—but oh well. There is plenty to be done today, so I might as well take advantage.

All right, I owe some girls some personals here…J

JackieHUGE congrats on PR’ing and winning first in your age group!!! And then you ran some MORE when you got home? Amazing! That trophy sure will look nice in that kick-butt workout room of yours…Ha, my non-teacher friends and family members teasingly grumble about my days off, too. Little do they know, I usually spend part or all of it working, anyway, like a total dumb-butt. *lol*

Linda—Oh, that is good news re: DD’s gallbladder situation…I’m sure there is no doubt in anyone’s mind here that you will not only be *able*to but will *want* to run another marathon after Marshall! I'm so excited for you. Really wish I could be there. I’m glad Patty “saw the light.” Funny, I had the same two issues late in training. My cousin's GF who is running MCM next Sunday didn't make it out last night—she feels like she's coming down with a bug—just like what you & I were feeling, too. Must be common at this stage of training, as we thought…Umm, no, not silly at all to cry at the end of Spirit! :p I did, too! J I watched it on the Friday evening before the marathon and was just riveted. It both scared me and pumped me up. *lol*

Wendi—my father has Lyme, too. In remission now. His was caught a bit late, and he does have permanent nerve damage now, so yes, I would absolutely agree—better to err on the side of caution & get it checked!…Yehhhp, that happens sometimes when one is on a tear. Good to get it in check ‘cuz the negativity just breeds more negativity, and it becomes a nasty, draining cycle. I have a co-worker who gripes all the time. I guess she is just really unhappy with her life. Even her jokes are always sniping at someone or something else. It’s to the point where when I see her coming, I try to duck. *lol* We all have problems, but man, who wants to listen to that constantly?...My rotation is nothing special :), just a continuation of what I was doing in August, but without the long long runs, of course. J

Posh—loved reading about DS’s game. Congrats! I'll bet you had the crowd in stitches...Wow, you do get a nice deal from your MT!! And this is the woman who may join us in Chicago? Hallelujah! J J J Hey, is it me, or have you been havin’ MAJOR hankerins for some deep dish??...Oh, wasn’t that just a beautiful, moving film?...I didn’t specify on the rotation which circuits I’d do—I like to give myself a little bit of flexibility, but I tend to reach for HSC, HSTA, my BM2/EXT mosh, and less often LIC, DM, and BC. I also recently bought C&W but haven’t tried it yet. So far, I’m seeing flights in the $450 range. I’m going to track it on Farecast and try to watch the patterns.

Yesterday’s extended massage was pure heaven. My MT is the BOMB! She concentrated on my legs and shoulders/upper back, and man, were there some serious knots up in there! Yeowch! But now I feel fantastic! And perhaps now I’ll stop ending every sentence with an exclamation point. *lol*

Have a wonderful Sunday! I'll be gettin' (hopefully A LOTTA) things done, so whether I run or hop on the EXT, I'm gonna keep it relatively light.

Good morning chickadees!

Just finished up 4DS Upper Body Circuit premix. It was interesting to see where I've lost ground (cardio capacity and shoulders) and where, somehow, I've actually gotten a wee bit stronger (chest and tris) although I haven't done *any* UB weights in, gosh, a couple of months *shrugs*. Go figure. Was originally planning to do BC/ME Bonus Combo but decided to go easy on the ol' legs since I want to go for a run tomorrow and have been doing a TON of riding the past couple of days *and* have a weird tweak in my left hammy that came out of nowhere Thursday:rolleyes::(.

Cathy - Had to snicker at the "un-teacherly wording":p. Oooh, a night out? Go/do anything fun? Glad the massage did the trick! You more than deserved some pampering! You know, your posts always crack me up...have you ever thought about writing, I mean, for real? You just have a way with words. Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your father. It's a sneaky disease. IA, I would probably avoid that coworker at all costs, too. Um, yeah, that would be the very cycle I'm trying to break;).

Karen - How are you feeling today? I hope that cold is on it's way out the door!

Posh - Had to laugh that you posted only about 15 minutes before I woke up:eek:. WOW, mega congrats to DS!!!! Brag away, you certainly have the right:D! Ugggh, sorry about the BIG service...hate when that happens:confused::mad:. So, what's on your uber-busy agenda today?

Gonna go peruse the forums for a couple of minutes and then head out to work where I can exercise my "mean-ness" towards the new girl:rolleyes:. TTFN!

Good Morning. Just downed two cups of coffee to ease my throat and now I feel Like I can tackle some laundry. Still feeling the cold so I'm taking another rest day which I planned. This is the first full weekend of no workouts in many months. My calf is doing better so hopefully one more day of TLC and my cold will cooperate enough for me to run.

Cathy- I'm glad you enjoyed your massage. My dd's last night made me a mommy spa. One massaged my calfs the other brushed my hair and the other one read to me. It was so cute and nice.

Wendi- Semi- better today. No oats though. Dh is all about eggs and sausge today. I try and have a big family breakfast on Sundays before we plant ourselves in front of the TV for football.

Posh- You did have a late night last night. I'm so happy for the pizza hut player. He must have been on cloud nine.

Off to lay on the sofa again before getting the laundry on and breakfast ready. I have to go wake up my three little helpers.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..Love the title today...I sure hope you can swing Napa too!! Maybe you can rent a bike and ride along with Christine...:)..I think a "whatever you feel like week" is a great idea after a marathon. Big Sur is a beautiful run. I did the marathon once. LOL about Happy Sunday, but it wasn't a bus...:D...I woke up early too today. Sounds like you got a well deserved and great massage yesterday! Doncha just feel awesome afterwards?

Wendi...thank for explaining the Lyme disease. I think you could just be drained too getting over the other infection. So will you get the $20 test? Didn't fry the legs too bad yesterday..:)..Good job with the 4DS premix, those are tough workouts. Hope the surprise hammy issue goes away ASAP.

Jackie..

on your time and 1st in the tough 40+ age group!! Glad you got to meet your neighbor's family. It wil be nice to train with someone for the upcoming half.

Posh...WOW, sounds like DS is quite the FB player!! You were the good Mom to make him some tasty food for after...:)..Cool he got the Pizza award and a free pizza...My MT is $60, but I would not change for nothing, she is awesome. My training will be 12 weeks for Napa. So I will "officially start" the beginning of Dec. I am just working on getting my weekly mileage (slowly) up to the 36-40 mark before I start the training. Yes Happy Sunday might not be pleased with me for running away!! Go Cowboys..:)

Karen..sorry about the rice mile and chicken broth mix-up.

Dallas...I wish you could make Napa too and see "my neck of the woods"...:). My DH also does not fly. LOL re: almost being 39. I will be 50 next year! Glad the mammo results were fine, weird about the next step?

Christine...happy to help. Good to increase your water too. I feel your body does adapt to the extra water in a few days so you are not up 3 times every night!! That will be cool you'll bring Mike to Napa. You are the best supporter...:). I wonder if we will get rain today? Yesterday was nice. How did the 50 miler go?

Linda...yes CTX is a great collection of workout. I hope Patty's achilles issues resolve themselves before the marathon. Good job on the 13 miler.

So...yesterday I figured I would have a lot of time to catch up on my laundry....1st load and the washer burns up!!! The smell was awful, so had to drag DH out to buy a new one. Nothing fancy but one that works. Ours was pretty old. Guess while watching Football today I will be doing laundry...:D

I am planning on a 15 mile run with my sister. I am also bowing out of a baby shower for my oldest sis's daughter. Miss football on another sunday??? I think NOT!!! Honestly I am being selfish and just don't think I could tolerate my oldest sis's voice ALL afternoon...:(

Have a HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

Ok, I'm getting off the sofa to do the laundry. Wish me luck.

Carole- Go ahead and be selfish and go for the run. Honeslty I have sister issues myslef. I'm the youngest of 4. The two middle sisters are twins. I can't tolerate either of them for long periods of time. i don't kow how we made it as far as we did in our house when we were all at home. We didn't have lots of money either so three of us shared one room and my oldest sister got her own room which couldn't have housed another person but her. Anyway completely cracked me up about tolerating sisters voice. I say that all the time to dh. " If I hear one more thing from so and so I'm going to wring her neck"

Good morning Cheetahs!

Linda - Glad your DD got some good news. She will definitely continue to be in my prayers. Good job on the 13 miles. Glad Patty's foot is better.

Wendi - Think getting your blood test is a smart thing to do. Hope it gives you some answers and helps with the energy crisis. How did your workout in meaness to the new girl go? :p

Posh - Congratulations to DS for playing such a good game! Know you're proud of him. Glad you were able to squeeze a run in. I had a membership for massage. I could get one for $49 in a month and then any others that month would be $39 + tip of course. I dropped the membership and now it will cost me $65.

Cathy - Thanks for the kudos. That's the biggest trophy I have so far. And, I must say it looks great in my workout room. Glad you enjoyed that massage. If you're like me, it still wasn't long enough. :D

Karen - Hope the rest day will knock the rest of that cold out.

Carole - Yes, I'm so excited to be training with someone else. He said there were quite a few people here who wanted to do the half. I won't feel bad now about knocking on his door since I met the wife and she knows we want to train together. She use to run to until she got injured. Bummer about the washer. Glad you were able to get a new one right away. Don't know what I would do without mine. Enjoy football today and don't worry about being selfish. Have a good run!

Rest day for me. Still have some DOMS. Should be gone tomorrow. Need to get ready for church now.

Thanks for the congrats on my 5K race yesterday everyone. Enjoy your day!

Happy Sunday All!

Karen – hope the pumpkin quest was fun!

Cathy – Oh yeah, the B2B is another must do. But that one requires some planning as getting back to the car is a challenge! The after party is fun, too, as everyone is still in costume so you always have someone to watch! I managed to miss the rain – when I rode it was sunny and gorgeous. Glad the massage was heavenly!! I soo have to get me one. I use a lot of “!” too.

Jackie – WAY TO GO GIRL!!! 1ST in the over 40+ age group is incredible! We have more 40+ than any other age group in most of our races. Nice to have a trophy, too! Must be nice to get all of those holidays, eh?

Linda – I’m happy your DD can wait for surgery! I’ll keep her in my thoughts and prayers! Riding 50 miles to me is infinitely easier than running 13. :p So the awe is mutual. This is California so the temps can vary widely. I think the average is in the low 60’s – with starting temps in the low 40’s. And a few years the temps have gotten into the 80’s. (and a few years have gone the other way with rain and temps in the high 40’s with nasty wind).

Wendi – I hope you are not have a reoccurrence of Lymes! Definitely worth the $20! Funny how we can lose ground in some areas and gain in others, isn’t it? Think of all the core work you get while riding! Hope the tweak goes away!

Posh – Way to go for your DS! You should be proud! I love High School football games – there is so much heart involved!! Too funny about the body flip in mid air – I’m glad he is okay and got that 1st down!! We got a few drizzles, but nothing too much here. As I told Cathy, by the time I got out on Mike, the rain had stopped and I had the typical gorgeous CA weather.

Carole – I only got up once last night. And it seems to be helping. I’m feeling a lot better. I think I’ve been drinking too much carbonated water and that bloated me, too. Dh says I’m getting way too sensitive to everything. Oh well, there are worse things! Oh no!!! Your washing machine blew up? Enjoy your run and don’t feel guilty about missing a baby shower. :D

I ended up doing a 43.5 mile ride yesterday. I figured this ride will be a good base ride as I can easily improve on my time, etc, and add miles at either end as I want to increase length. I am NOT doing the Tour di Stupid. I’d say doing that right now would be the equivalent of running a hilly marathon after training for a hilly half. I could do it, I’m sure, but I would either hurt myself or it would put me off biking. Neither outcome is a good one. My workout today will be kettlebells and a short run. We’ll see how far I go. Have a great day!

Linda- Now I am thinking about the Buffalo half again, but if it is lonely I am concerned. The Allentown one looks great, but it is a bit far for me. although the tri state Cheetahs my really like it. OH, what to do what to do....

Karen- Your DDs took good care of you! It must be from your good example :)

Jackie- Congratulations Cheetah on a PR and a prized finish yesterday!

Carole- Good choice to go the less stressful choice by skipping the baby shower today. Have a great 15 miler....I revisited my Women's book of Running from Runners World and am fitting in nicely to the intermediate plan for now ( not training for any race, but building sensibly)

Christine- I can't imagine such a long ride! Good luck with your ride today! Maybe you should head east for Allentown of Buffalo....

Wendi- Glad to see your getting back to your old self! Will you schedule that titer ?

OK, today is a rest day. Yesterday after a nice 4 mile run. I 'conquered' the wood pile. I moved 30+ wheel barrel loads of fire wood and stacked it. We have a chord of wood delivered every October and it is dumped on the driveway. Last weekend the kids moved about half of it, and yesterday I finished it. I wanted DH to return and see it all stacked.

The rest of today is just clean up form DD's team dinner, foot ball and rest. Gotta love girls. They all put on their Sunday best last night and lit every candle they could fine in the house. But then they were loud loud loud! They are not quite ladies yet,LOL

Hey again, cheetahs!

I am up to my eyeballs in the grading pile, but I need a mental break, so here I am. :)

Wendi—I cannot imagine you being “mean” to anyone. Weren't you just digging through poo for this girl the other day???…I had a little trouble with one of my hams lately, too. Ya know what helped? Rolling on a tennis ball…I went out with some family and friends. Had fun but everyone was tired, so it wasn’t too, too late a night, thankfully. Thanks—I did some freelance when I was in college, but I have not pursued publishing since turning my attention to teaching. I really appreciate the compliment. It’s been another interesting thing to come of marathon training. Folks say completing one changes you as a person and gives you a level of accomplishment and confidence you might not have had before, and I think there’s truth to all of that. Thanks to the comments/encouragement in response to my blogging and emails, I’ve been feeling really inspired lately to write more. Time is such a factor…Oh, it’s OK—my dad is fine. He’s very old school—never complains, just deals with it…Sorry to say I avoid that co-worker, but yeah, I do, and unfortunately, I know I’m not the only one. My day—like anyone else’s—is too busy and full of its own stresses to have her constantly dumping. When *all* you do is vent that’s just not healthy. Not sure if she *likes* spreading her misery, or if she’s so caught up in it, she doesn’t even recognize what she’s doing. Either way, I gotta limit my interaction with the Zen killer. *lol*

Karen—healing vibes coming to you.

Carole—*lolol* Oh, it wasn’t a bus? It must’ve been my mom who I thought almost stepped out in front of a bus then…I think Christine should just rig up a sidecar for me. J I would need a lot more experience before I could even think of attempting the full @ Big Sur, but a tortoise—er, uh—cheetah, can dream. J That had to be one of the best massages I’ve had ever. It hurt a little, but I felt like jello afterward…Sorry about your washer going up in smoke. I do not blame you one bit for skipping the shower. Hope you had a great 15.

Jackie—that is a good deal you had with or without the membership. Ha! Yes, you are right—it still didn’t feel long enough. You are going to run out of shelf space for all your trophies!

Christine—wow, that was a long ride yesterday. So, Tour de Stupid’s out—what’s next? Did your HRM arrive yet?

OK, I better move onto notebooks now. Can't believe it's already 2 pm!

Judy - I wish I could "shuffle off the Buffalo" - I love that town. I can only do so much traveling. We'll see, though, I'll try! Your recipes sound wonderful!!! I have to try some of them! Enjoy your rest day!

Cathy - I'm going to start training smarter rather than harder. I figure I have a winter to get to where I want to be, then I can start some of the harder rides ! Enjoy your grading!

Well, I managed about a 2.5 mile run. I had planned for 3 but I walked the last half mile. After yesterday's ride, it was tough, but I'm hoping to improve on both. I followed it with AOS Providence on Audio - I actually like that better than the video (although I do miss Anthony's handsome face!). He counts many of the reps for you, so you just follow along instead of trying to watch the tv and do the exercise at the same time. It's off to shower and then the grocery store. I didn't get there yesterday as we went to the Campbell Oktoberfest which mainly consisted of standing in line - for the mugs and tickets, for the beer, for DH's sausage (I ate before I got there) then for one more mug's worth, then home as we were tired of standing in line. The mugs are cool, though and we get to keep those, so that's fine. ;) After groceries is football of course. So I'd better get a move on! Enjoy all!

Hiya cheetahs! A little bit late checkin in today and wasn't able to pop in at all yesterday between my 12 hr shifts. Got caught up paying bills:( I took a nice total rest day tho. I had originally intended to go for my 20 mile run this afternoon but I had a busy nite at work and decided that a 20 mile run after working all nite and having a 3 hr nap was too much even for this crazy cheetah! I came to my senses and postponed it til Tuesday. Tomorrow I go in for my biannual ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) training. I do go into work Tuesday nite but that's still a better option to take.

So instead today I did a 4 mile run just around my property. Very uneven terrain so I had to take it slow but it was different and was a nice training change. Later today I'll be doing some kind of good tough circuit... not sure what yet.

BBL for personals.

Karen...we must have grown up with a lot in common. I was the youngest of 4 girls also. We too had the oldest in her own room and the other 3 shared! My oldest is the problem though, she lives in a world of make believe most of the time!!

Jackie...sad about your neighbors wife and her injuries. I can so relate. I am glad you and him will be running some together though as that does help.

Christine...glad to hear you are feeling better. DH's just say the silliest things! Yep the washer just fried, I guess it was time. The new one is nice and I have done a few loads so far. Good job with the 43.5 mile bike ride. I can sure see why you said NO to the Tour di Stupid. 2.5 miles is not bad after that bike ride yesterday. Watching football myself today...

Judy...wow, look like good recipes. I tried a new Lasagna recipe last night...YUM...Awesome job moving all that wood.

Cathy...Nope not a bus just a car, and I was just following the other pedestrian...:)..Big Sur was a tough marathon but luckily for my sister and I, there were no high winds at the 13 mile uphill, as that usually takes its toll on the runners. Thanks re: my washer but appliances don't seem to last forever...darn!!

Thanks to all of you, you made me feel much better about skipping the shower....:)...The 15 miles went well, a lot of hills, but I know that makes you stronger...:D

personals

Christine- So I guess the Tour Di Stupid is out now? That did seem like alot to take on!! You are still one AWESOME bikin cheetah:eek: and I think that is so great that you've set your sites on the Big Sur race. What a beautiful course, arguably the best in the country for scenery!

Cathy- I bet your massage therapist went out of her way to give you the deluxe extra special treatment yest!!! Hope you made a serious dent in the grading/paperwork!

Judy- How great to see you scoping out races!!!:eek::eek: The Allentown Pa race looks lovely!!! I think Wendy was looking at that date for her full marathon. She was considering Long Island--- that one has a 10k, half, and full mary on that day I believe. Would that be a doable distance to travel for you? Thanks for sharing another terrific looking recipe. I just loved the last one you shared!!!

Jackie- Congratulations on a stellar performance on your 5k and a first place finish!!! wooohooooo:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: A nice big trophy too??? Wow...
I need to enter some races in your area!! Great news that you've got yourself a training partner for your upcoming HM! Have you been infected with full marathon fever yet???

Karen- How nice that you are taking a well deserved weekend break and just catching up on stuff around the house!!!

Carole- What??? Opting on football over spending time with dear older sis???:p:p:p:p;);););) Hope you have a fabulous long run today with Karen! Hey, my mileage has hit around 45 for the week..... happy about that!

Wendi- Nice idea to have that lyme disease titer checked. I'm a thinkin it's just your crazy work schedule lately and being overtired. Happy to hear that you are feeling a bit stronger today! BE looking for your run report tomorrow and wishing you the best!

Linda- Thanks for the update on your DD. Glad to hear that her cholecystitis can be managed medically. My goodness, she is having a time of it lately.... good thing that she has the worlds best MOM there for support!!!!!! YOU take care too! (YOU are going to be so awesome on this upcoming mary!)

That's all I have time for now cheetahpals! Sorry for anyone I missed...
Gloria-- I pm'd ya... sorry for the delay.

Hi POSH!! Hi Dallas!

tata

whew, this takes me forever!! lol

Happy SUNDAY!! LOL

Hiya Cheetahs! Just takin’ a minute to peek in and see what’s up and say hi! Well, I also had to log-on and check out the local newspapers re: HS football Friday night. I’ll be running up to the local gas station in few to pick up a few copies since DS is “in the paper” as he says..lol THANK YOU ALL FOR THE KUDOS bout’ me lil’ boy! Yaeeeeuh, we’re pretty proud of the lil’ ffff fella….hee hee…

I slept in til 8 am PST…It’s a busy day at home for me trying to get caught up on things since I’ve pretty much not been home on a weekend in a month! – and I have to the dust to prove it! LOL

I am hoping to get in some nice magically hips yoga later today when I’m done with the chores, laundry, cooking etc.

Cathy – LMAO re: the bus…but um, me thinks it was a CAR not a bus..lol. Carole? Wait, maybe it was YOU that jaywalked in front of ALL THE TRAFFIC ON MICHIGAN! ?!?!!??! lol jk… Hey, no side car needed on Christine’s bike in Napa; I’ll bring my road bike and you can ride it along with her. ;) I have a nice bike and we’re about the same height so you should fit it fine. Glad you’re checkin’ on them airline tickeeys…. Yes, same MT that said to count her in for Chicago 09. She doesn’t want $$ either, just a dinner or so… I said, “swaaeetuh! I get first dibs!”…lol.. So, Yah, this pretty much means Posh will be livin’ large bringing her own MT to Chi town… Oh yeah, you betcha I’d love to sink my chompers into some of that deep dish right about now…BTW I am the queen of !!!!!!!!!!

Wendi – Yah, too funny I posted 15 mins before you woke up. But you are 3 hours ahead of me too. I stayed up pretty late last night though…Good job with the 4DS circuits…I’ll be reachin’ for mine this coming week. Have fun being “mean” LOL

Karen – yah, he was and IS on cloud 9 – most of the varsity players stay on cloud 9 round these parts…lol. Wise of you to take another rest day for the cold and good to hear the calf is on the mend. My DH loves a big breakfast on Sunday too..

Carole – Your plan sounds great. Yah, I was thinking my mileage needs to be up to about the 35 mark without issues to start training. This gives me til about Thanksgiving-ish to continue the weight loss (which will make a huge difference in running) and build my mileage wisely. I’m also going to use the time to be tough on my selves to be consistent with core work and the weights. Got a 10K to do on Thanksgiving too – Annual Run to Feed the Hungry. Sorry about the washer. Enjoy the run! Anyhoo, good choice to skip the shower and get in the football..lol. Cowboys? more like the Cowpatties…wth??!?!?:confused:shheeeesh! And me thinks Tony Romo is a PANSY! Suck it up and get out there and play buddy! LOL Other than that, hope you enjoy some football today!

Jackie – Woo hoo, our PR’ing Cheetah of the weekend! So cool you’re going to have a training partner AND that there are others too that want to train. You’re gonna do so great on your first half! Um, maybe you should consider renewing the massage membership? You deserve it!

Christine – yeah, we’re having nice weather today; partly cloudy, breezy in the 50’s about now…our leaves are turning everywhere too – love the fall! Hey, I can bring my bike for Cathy to ride along with you in Napa for the marathon…I think your decision on the tour di stupid is a wise one and makes good sense. You know your limits and of course you want to enjoy your rides not dread them. Enjoy football today!

Judy – Thanks so much for posting the lasagna recipes! The other suggestions and Puttenesca sound wonderful too. I’ll be making some lasagna next weekend for sure. Nice job on the wood pile!

Shelly – Good to “see” ya - WOW, you’ve been busy – wise to postpone the 20 miler. I bet that run around your property was so gorgeous…

Ok, better get this posted and back to work!

Have a good one ya’ll

Hi Cheetahs!

I have no idea how I managed to check in everyday last spring. This last week was hectic with all the meetings, going out of town and driving my neighbor to work. I am taking a much needed deep breath! :)

Cathy: I really love reading your blog. I posted a comment to you. :) I have yet to plunge into my pile of school work. I am feeling a bit rebellious right now. Hope you enjoyed whatever workout you decided for today.

Wendi: I hate those wierd tweaks that come from who knows where. Hopefully it is nothing. Sounds like the new girl is a problem. Glad you could get in a workout today! :)

Karen: Hope you are feeling better soon!

Carole: I would have bagged the shower too. You know I hate those things. Ooooh, a new washer! I can't wait for ours to break so we can get a new one. I am wierd. I really like shopping for kitchen utensils and appliances! Awesome job on the 15 miles!

Jackie: Well my dear, you really kicked some butt on your race! 1,000 congratulations to you! Hope you are having a nice rest day!

Christine: I think you are wise to not do the race. Better to er on the side of caution IMO. Great job on the 2.5 today!

Judy: Thanks for the recipes! You got a good workout in hauling that wood! That is usually one of my chores, but this year we bought 10 cords at a really good price and they delivered and stacked it for us. Speaking of which, I think I will make a fire since I am a bit on the chilly side and don't want to use the propane.

Shelly: Thank you for the pm. You have put my mind at ease. :) I have been concerned since it is almost training time. No worries on the delay. I have been busy too. How nice you can run on your own property. I remember you posting about the fall colors. I never get sick of them either. :)

Posh: Sounds like you have a star on your hands! :) Busy as usual I see.

The conference was really good on Friday. Glad I went. It was a 12+ hour day though. Yesterday I drove about an hour and a half away to see Dh's mom. She just had her hip replaced. The therapists are impressed at how well she is doing. She is a casino person so I loaded some games on her laptop to keep her occupied while she is healing. After that I met DH at the Bfs and we had a nice dinner.

DH's cousin is 26 years old and was diagnosed with this rare cancer. She is a single mother. She has been fired from her job as a waitress after they found out about the cancer. I don't know how that is legal. We are going to a benefit dinner for her on the second of November. Luckily most of DH's family live in the same town and are tight.

I have been complaining a lot this week. It could be worse.

Today was a 7 mile run outside. My ITB is a little tight so I will roll it out tonight. Nothing serious.

Have a good night Cheetahs!

Hey everyone!

Cathy - Don’t ya just hate it when you want to sleep later, but you wake up…wide awake and can’t go back to sleep! The massage sounded wonderful! I could sure go for one of those right now J That is right, I do remember your Achilles and hamstring problem during the taper. That is strange that so many people go through those same type injuries towards the end, as well as the “cold” symptoms! Are your feeling okay now? We had dinner with Patty and her DH last night and she said that as of right now, hers is feeling okay. I think I will watch Spirit of the Marathon again, tonight! I am glad I am not the only one that cried! J

Posh - That is so cool about your DS! LOL….I could just picture it!! Glad he is okay and congrats to him! LOL….yeah, I imagine I will probably cry once I cross the finish line J

Wendi - I am glad you are going to go to the doc about getting checked for the Lymes. I hope you are doing okay and that everything comes back A-OKAY!

Karen - Glad your calf is better….but wish your cold/throat would hurry and get better! Have a good rest! Don’t work too hard…take it easy. You probably taxed your immune system, too with your race.

Carole - Good job on your 15 miler. Is that a different sis than the one that has the daughter with the baby shower? LOL…I don’t blame you at all for bowing out! Enjoy your football, too!

Jackie - Enjoy your rest day! That was a great 5k you did! You need a rest day! J

Christine - Wonderful job on the bike ride! That is probably a very good idea not to do “Stupid”. I understand that, for sure! That would be so cool for you to take Mike to Napa! Thanks for the weather info on Big Sur! One more question…..Carole said the humidity where she is and Napa is really low. Would it be the same for Big Sur…or if it was hot…would it normally be more humid? (Sorry for all the questions!) I am a weenie in regards to humidity. It is sooo humid here and that is what I run in during the summer….but I like to be able to dodge it as often as I can J

Judy - When you say lonely…do you mean with crowd support, or people to run with? I know….it is so hard trying to decide which ones to do! When I did my half last year, there wasn’t very much crowd support at all….and I ran it totally by myself. I had not started running with Patty yet. We weren’t allowed to use iPods or anything….lol….so it was very quiet 13 miles! ;) It was fun, though,.
That recipe looks and sounds wonderful!!! Thanks for posting it!

Shelly - Thanks so much for your confidence in me! That meant a lot! Yes, my DD is having a pretty rough time L I think it was wise of you to opt for the 4 miles and put off the 20 until Tuesday! I could not do 20 miles on 3 hours sleep! Hmmm…I hope I don’t have to eat my words, as the night before the marathon…I may not be able to sleep! ;) Good job on your run today!

Gloria - How horrible about your DH’s cousin’s cancer! How could someone fire her for that? That is so sad! I hope the benefit dinner helps her a lot! Good job on your 7 mile run! Hope the ITB feels better!

I took my little grandson to get his pictures taken today. They are going to be so good J On some of them, they put him on a fire engine. He was so excited. They took a couple of me with him on the fire engine. The rest were of him with fall scenery (pumpkins, fall leaves, football, etc). He was a little ham. Then we took him to the park and Dairy Queen. Lots of fun J

I didn’t run today. I did CTX Bi’s, Tri’s and Shoulders.

Hey to everyone and hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Oh….totally forgot…whoever posted about the Bear Naked Granola….thanks a lot! I got a bag at Dick’s and ate the whole thing before I even got home! LOL….but it was wonderful!

Linda
