Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs :)

Shelly :: wow! Just when I think your workouts can’t get any wilder, they do! *lol* How was Legs & Butt followed by the Leg Blast?…Yes, I do plan to start a BBC rotation, but I have another 5 weeks of X left. I’d like to sneak in a few workouts here and there to try them out.

Susan :: When it comes to my track record w/ food lately, I seem to be alternating one good day followed by a day when I’m completely hell-bent on eating everything in sight. So, I'm your sister in crime.

Wendy :: I agree it probably makes the most sense for you to stick it out at your gym. It won’t be much longer til you’re a PT – hang in there!

Sunny :: so sorry you’ve come down with a bug…At least you still have a couple of days to get most of it out of your system. Were you able to get a good night's sleep, I hope?

I took an unintentional rest day yesterday…By mid-afternoon, unusually severe DOMS settled in to my shoulder & lat area. I think it was a combination of CST (I *seriously* brought it on Tues -- upped weights and/or reps on nearly every exercise) and the massage that did it. The work she did in my shoulder blades left me quite sore, which doesn't usually happen when I get massages, but I guess it's normal. Anyway, when I went to use the foam roller for a stretch, it was actually quite painful trying to support my weight, so I overdid it somehow and decided a workout of any kind might not be wise. I’m still sore today, but I do plan to work out – just not sure yet what it’ll be. No weights, for sure.

Have a great day ~ BBL!
Cathy :)

Well, we are shoveling our way out this morning :-( But, the weather looks like it turning around from now on - 40's today and only going up after that .... whew.....

I have a combo circuit/step class tonight. Since I had to cancel last night due to the weather I will combine the two tonight for a real kicker......}(

Take care,
Marcia.

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!

Well, the results are in on the X! I decided not to wait until the end of the recovery week to weigh/measure so I did it this morning. I was feeling thin!;-) So I've lost 1 pound, just about 1% body fat and 4+ inches overall. My numbers are not big but I did not start out with a whole lot to lose in the first place. I am happy with my results. My clothes are looser and I am tighter and definately more defined! I am also stronger! My waist is smaller then it is has been in YEARS AND YEARS AND...well, you get the picture and I have definition in my abs that I have NEVER had before!!!

So today is supposed to be a spin class but ofcourse it's cold, raining and windy out there. It's nothing short of miserable which sends my motivation to go to the gym down the tubes. Especially knowing I have to take poor Joey with me!:-( I may very well use this as motivation to stay in and get a Cathe fix instead!}( I also have yoga on tap for this evening.

I'll be back!:)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...I should really pick up your Valentines Day Tax completion!! I use the Turbo Tax program. Tried it last year to verify what my tax lady got and then found 2 mistakes, one from 2005 and one from 2004! Which is why I chose to do them myself this year. A rest day seems like it was a good thing for you yesterday. Yes, sometimes you can have some residual pain from a massage especially if they really worked over an area.

Marcia...more snow....wow! You have a killer workout coming up tonight.

Wendy...looks like the job does have some good perks! Hopefully soon you can go on to PT! BBC fullbody is tough. Did you like doing the alphabet for your abs!! WOW! great results from the X. I know I got the best ab results from my 1st X rotation...enjoy whatever workout you decide on.

Jess...sounds like you have great plans for your "30th". Poor Kiersten with Pneumonia....I hope the antibiotics clear it up ASAP!

Jackie...thanks, I always like finding new graphics! Yes basically my taxes are done but I am waiting for clarification on something with DH's W-2. Good workout yesterday. I might have to check out that Windsor B&T workout.

Judy...good EXT workout, not sure I have ever got my Average HR that high!! Waldo is a great cat name...

Shelly...great job with the 7 miles!! Don't you "love" the way Barry makes you "hold" the bicep curl after the last rep! I am really enjoying GS this week. I hope you enjoyed your killer Butt workout...:)

Susan..I hope the 3 mile run went well...glad your pain is subsiding.

Sunny....how are you feeling today?

Christine...how exciting Sat is the day for the new puppy!!!

I am doing Leaner Legs, abs and a 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Hello ladies,

sick cheetah checking in...:(
my throat is still really sore, however the aches in my body have subsided. i canceled my late morning afternoon clients today so i going to just take some medicine and rest today. i really wanna do the new KB from TS...we'll see how i feel later on today.

cathy- i was able to get some sleep last night. dh bought me medicine and took the kiddos. i still got up at 4:30 this morning for my early bird clients. good job with CST!

wendy- great results from the X. i am gonna start and finish the X rotation upon my return.

carole-leaner legs! now there is one i haven't done is such a long time. enjoy!

marcia- sorry about the snow. the weather here stinks today, cold and rainy.

i hope everyone has a great day:)

Cathy: I would say sorry for your DOMS but you know how I LOVE it so I can't say that sincerely! I *CAN*, however, say ENJOY IT girl! You earned it!!!}(

Marcia: Glad your weather is turning around so quickly. A snowstorm after Easter...what a downer. :-( Enjoy your class tonight!:)

Sunny: OMG girl, I am sooo sorry that you are sick! I hope you feel better FAST! I will cross my fingers, my toes, and even my eyes for you in hopes that you will recover quickly! :7

Carole: I felt totally spastic trying to write the alphabet with my legs. LOL I couldn't do it. I couldn't control the movement well enough so I ended up doing an isometric hold with my legs elevated while they finished their letters!:p Enjoy Leaner Legs...just THINKING about that one makes me BURN!}(

Just taking a little break from grading to check in on my cheetahs…

Marcia :: I’m glad the forecast is looking better. I would *not* be happy with snow right now! Then again, it’s pretty dark, rainy, and miserable here.

Wendy :: AWESOME results with the X! I know what you mean – the scale doesn’t move (and in your case, it doesn’t sound like it really needed to) but the body transformation is amazing! I always talk exercise & weight loss with my hairdresser, and the other day when I went in for a cut, she said I was crazy to want to lose 20 lbs. and she didn’t see how that was possible. Made me feel good (and confirms for me why the X rocks!)…I feel ya on the crummy weather.

Carole :: I will have to check out TurboTax for next year…Good to know that about the massage…I was surprised by how much pain I was in yesterday.

Sunny :: glad you’re gonna have a chance to rest up today…I would say take the rest day in its entirety…there’s nothing worse than feeling like hell while you’re vaca, so why chance it?

~Cathy :)

Good morning Cheetahs!

Cathe - Sorry the job didn't work out for you. Don't blame you for rejecting that offer. Do you have anything else in mind?

Jess - You're still a spring chicken girl!! LOL!! A weekend away sounds like a good way to spend your birthday. Never thought about doing B&T with ankle weights. She kills me with the band. Hope Kiersten feels better.

Judy - Nice name for the stray. Jamaica! Fun!!

Shelly - You do love torture! LOL! I say do it while you can.

Susan - Enjoy your mommy time with the girls.

Sunny - Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hope it goes away before vacation starts.

Wendy - Congratulations on the weight loss!!

I did Super Sets and iClimb 17 - that is everything but the core work on the stability ball. I ran out of time.

Hello to everyone else. Got to get moving.

Enjoy your day!

Jackie

Hi Cheetah Friends :)

I'm getting a late start here today. With DS needing to be in Buffalo every day for this clinic my time is being gobbled up. In addition he is dog sitting and I have to drive him to the house and wait.

Any way I did GS BSB and abs from BM2 this morning and some foam rolling.

Cathy & Shelly:: DD, is a production assistant for "Scarred." She agrees it is a hard show to watch, and told us not to let her 13 year old brother watch it. She has been hired to do another show at MTV and will have more responsibility with the second show. She studied digital media production in college and her goal is to be a producer. She prefers entertainment productions to news ones at this time.

Shelly:: how are those legs feeling after leg day?

Linda:: treadmmill reports?

What does everyone think of the Cathe announcement? It will be challenging to maintain a running schedule with the 4 day split, but of course Many of us will (most likely) try anyway! I am anxious about the kick boxing productions.

Susan:: how is the pet sitting going?

Carole:: I always liked LL, but haven't pulled it out in a while. Thanks for the reminder. We have an accountant do our taxes. It can get complicated.

Jackie:: Did you do Iclimb on an elliptical?

Wendy:: Your results sound excellent to me! losing 4+ inches is really fantastic and (I think) more reliable that a scale or an estimated body fat% measurement!

Jes:: kid updates today??

Marcia:: I'm sorry for your snow. The front moved this way but our temps stayed above freezing so we have steady rain.

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

((((Sunny)))), I assume he prescribed you antibiotics. You should be fine in a couple of days. When do you leave?

Judy, I don't know how you fit it all in!!! I give you ALOT of credit!

Jackie, I haven't done SS in ages! How is Iclimb 17? Have a great day!

Cathy, So are you enjoying your vacation? Dumb question, I know! LOL

Hey everyone!

Yesterday was a day from "you know where"! At work, as well as trying to get my TM :-( But...all's well that ends well :7 The did finally bring my treadmill....but it was supposed to be after 3:00 and I guess they came at 2:00 (and I was still at work at that time). I went home and waited until around 4:30 and called to find out where they were. They said they had been there..but had not been home :-( They did bring it back, though. DH and I put it together and it would not work....we took it apart a couple of times and rehooked cables and wires and it works!

Anyway....I love it! I ran on it this morning, since it was too late last night. It has been a pain getting it here....but it was worth it!

Judy - That is so interesting about our daughter! I will have to watch the show. Good luck to her! Good workout!

Cathy - Sorry about your DOMS! Sounds painful! I agree with what you said about not taking the job! I understand what you mean!

Marcia - Wow! It is so hard to believe that you are getting so much snow this time of year! We had snow over the weekend...but just a dusting.

Wendy - Great results on P90X!! I am almost through with my second week. Only my second week....and I have gained 3 lbs ;( Grrrr! Oh well. Congratulations!!! It is cold, windy and rainy here too. Yuck.

Jess - My goodness! Poor Kierston! I hope how soon she gets better! Bless her heart! Good job on KM!

Carole - Good job on LL and your 4 mile run!

Sunny - Step throat!! Oh my! Hope you get better soon! Rest and take your meds like a good girl! ;-) Just kidding....I know you know to do that! It's the mom in me :7

Jackie - Good job on the workout! I did my first iClimb yesterday. It was the 45 minute one, but I am not sure which set it was from. DId you like 17? Is there any certain iClimb that you recommend?

Susan - Enjoy having your little ones home!! And, as usual, I am with ya on the eating ;)

Yesterday I did a 45 minute iClimb and P90X S&A. I also tacked on the hi stepups from B&Gs and 75 walking lunges.

This morning I ran 5 miles and did the floorwork of B&G's.

Hi to everyone and hope everyone has a great day! BBL!

Linda

Good morning ladies,
I am feeling good this morning. I did a 3 mile run yesterday at a very slow pace, around 5.7 and then did PUB Sh,bi's and tri's and then did 45 minutes of my Karen Voight pilates. It was a great workout day. I did not feel any pain while running and today I am good, so that is great news for me :) I am going to keep my runs to 3 miles for a few weeks and then gradually start adding speed and some miles. I am going to do 40 minutes on the elliptical and then the lying leg work from Legs and glutes and then some pilates later on. I think I am definitley going to get the BBC. I can't stand hearing you guys talk about it anymore}(

Now for a few personals before my kids come looking for me;-)

CAthy, The first massage I had I could barely move my shoulders I was so sore. It was a pretty intense one. It is good you took a rest day. I have to say that I love the foam roller, but I definitley go to long and too far with it sometimes. I get a sorenes in the glutes when I use if for too long. I am so glad that I have a sister that is also a little pig with food}( I am so inconsistent these days that it is ridiculous. Let's have a clean eating day today, okay? Enjoy your workout.

Marcia, I cannot believe you guys have snow. We are running around here with flip flops and capris. I hope sun come your way SOON!

Wendy, that is great results with the power 90x. You were one dedicated gal. So what rotation are you coming up with for Barry? I will have to get some advice from you for that. I am going to order it today.

Carole, I hate leaner legs. I find that workout to be dreadful(LOL)!! It is just too hard and just not fun for me. I would rather do Legs and Glutes or Butts and Gutts or even GS. I am a wimp when it comes to any heavy leg work though;-)

Sunnydelite, HUGS!!! I am so sorry to hear that you have strep throat. I hope you feel better soon. Get lots of rest.

Jackie, awesome workout for you, as usual. I still have not done the kelli roberts pilates. I am so enjoying the Karen voight one that I have stuck with that one. When I do it I will give you a full review. I just ordered two more. I ordered the Windsor Advanced body slimming and one by Aba Cabana. I am really enjoying the pilates.

Judy, the pet sitting is going well. It has actually been a great thing for the girls and I to do during the day. We spend a lot of time holding the guinea pigs and talking to the bird. It is definitley a little time consuming, but fun. They have a gecko and I have to say it is absolutely adorable and I am not usually one to like those kind of things. How is your new kitty?

Jess, I am so sorry about Kiersten having pneumonia. I know what you mean about when they lose weight. My Mariah had tummy problems recently and she lost 5 lbs and looked so thin, but she has put it all back on now. I hope she feels better soon. Make sure you get some you time and get some good workouts in:)

Chrsitine, That is so exciting about your new puppy coming on Saturday.

Shelly, you are one crazy cheetah with that workout yesterday. I cannot beleive I am sharing a room with you and super carole. You are going to look at me and think I am the biggest wimp on the planet. Oh well, you guys can be my mentors and kick me in the butt now and then, but please don't take my snicker stash away from me. I will share with you guys}(

That is it for me right now ladies. I will be back later.

Susan

Susan - Great run and workout! Glad you had a good run with no pain! I really do think you would like BBC! I am already wanting to do another rotation. But.....I must finish this P90X, I must, I must, I must :+

Linda

Jackie :: I’m just starting to think about summer work now…UPS was the first thing to come my way…I may wind up contacting a temp agency…I don’t think I can bear to do the types of jobs I did in college, e.g. retail…So I’ll have to wait and see. Tutoring would bring in good money, but truthfully, I like to have a break from teaching in the summer. Last summer really spoiled me b/c I didn’t work and was overseas for 4 weeks.

Judy :: how exciting for your DD! MTV is quite a big gig. You & DH must be so proud. It sounds like all of your kids are active & successful.

Sunny :: oh no! I hope the antibiotics kick in quickly, so you’re feeling up-to-snuff for the cruise.

Wendy :: yeah, I’m enjoying the week. Today was mostly a working day but at a relaxed pace. I graded all my students’ book reviews…Tomorrow I will attack the journals.

Linda :: I just hate waiting for delivery folks – their window of time never seems to be on par with mine! Glad it all worked out in the end, though, and you’re enjoying your new toy!! I just entered a contest to win a NordicTrack TM with a built-in flat screen. (Ironic that someone who loathes the TM would enter the contest!)...I meant to tell you, I am no longer going crazy trying to squeeze in Fluidity. I figure while I am doing the X, I will concentrate on plugging it in during the recovery week. Anytime beyond that will be considered an extra.

Susan :: whoo, tough workout yesterday & today! I couldn’t take the BBC talk anymore, either. Hey, at least it’s positive enabling around here! :) Glad to know the post-massage pain can happen from time to time. I’ve been better today w/ food. You?

I just finished Yee’s Yoga Burn. First time I tried it. It’s a little under 60 minutes. I enjoyed it. The movements are slow, and you do every pose 3x. The first 15 minutes remind me a little of YogaX but since you only repeat a pose 3x, it’s less intense and slightly less monotonous for me. (You start out doing staff, cobbler, and boat poses and move into a downward/upward dog series w/ one leg in the air…then he has you move into triangle, warrior, runner’s stretch, back down into plank, and repeat.) My shoulders/arms sure felt it (probably more so b/c of the DOMS). At around the 30 minute mark, you move to the floor and it’s more flexibility work. It ends with about 4 minutes of meditation (the artsy-fartsy stuff Shelly probably wouldn’t like), but I didn’t mind. I don’t think Yee goes too over the top with that stuff. All in all, the 60 minutes went quickly, and I feel I got a good balance of strength and flexibility work. YogaX is definitely a harder workout, but most likely, I would sub this for it, and maybe do some of the balance work from the second half of X.

OK, off to the showers. Have a great night, cheetahs!

Taking a break!

Judy - Sounds like your daughter has a very interesting job. Yes, I do iClimb on my elliptical. Sure makes using it much more fun. I like Cathe's future workouts especially the 4 day split and the boxing. The boxing will make me want a bag though.

Sunny - Get plenty of rest. Hope you feel better. When do you leave?

Wendy - I like iClimb 17. Keith alternates between the elliptical and squats and lunges with a medicine ball. Didn't get to do the core section. Felt like I pulled a Shelly with SS and doing 40 minutes of iClimb.

Susan - Glad the back still feels good. Think you're doing the right thing gradually building your runs back up. Glad you're enjoying the pilates. Hope you can feel your core getting stronger.

Linda - So glad you got the treadmill and it's up and running. I like iBi Climb. I can't remember what number it is. Most of the time I do the 20 or 30 minute ones. Can't seem to work the longer ones in with my running and everything else I want to do.

Later,

Jackie

I am back and totally worked out. I did the CC#4 on my elliptical and it was really tough. It went by so fast. I have yet to try the Itread workouts, but I really like the cardio coach. I then did the lying leg work of legs and glutes and then did the ab work from KPC. I am now going to take my daughters to Chilli's for lunch and then the park. They have been SOOOOO good letting mommy workout.

Linda, that is great that you have your treadmill and have already used it. I love getting new pieces of equipment. SO you have been an oinkier too. Glad to know I am in good company.

CAthy, yes, my eating so far today as been really good. At Chilli's I will get a grilled chicken sandwich with some black beans. I have ordered BBC and now it is just the waiting game now. I am really looking forward to it.

I am off to lunch! Have a great day ladies.

Susan

I just finished Low Max. Now it's time for a shower and then I have to head out to another meeting for work! ACK!

I'll be back later!:)

Good Afternoon/Evening Cheetah Babes!

You have before you one very tired Cheetah. I got a wild hair and tried to emulate Shelly again. Did Body Max 2 Scrambled Eggs (no weights) in the morning, then attended a spin class this afternoon. The instructor had just downloaded the sound track from “300” and we did NOT get a break – no one minute of reprieve. She had us visual riding a dirt track with 500 other riders and we were in the lead. We could not lose the lead or we’d be done for – and we rode through a storm as well. Great class, but heavens, I’m beat.

Cathy – good call on the rest day. Yeah, Shelly has some wild workouts, doesn’t she? I like Rodney Yee. Yoga X is just too long for me. I have the attention span of a three year old. :+

Marcia – I’m trying to send some warm weather your way, but it keeps turning left at Albuquerque… Hope it gets warmer soon!

Wendy – WAY TO GO!! Your results are fabulous!! I’m impressed!!!! *Does happy dance with Wendy* Yeah, I’m with you on the rainy weather. I hate going out in it.

Carole – I like Leaner Legs – it’s a short but deep-down-dirty workout that leaves me sore for days. How’s the running coming along? Yeah, puppy-time in two days. Just got photos of another litter – I have a blue on hold there – keeping him on hold until I know for sure that we’re bringing home Jimmy. She called him Crazy Hearts Clothing Optional. So of course, if something happens, and I end up with him, he has to be called Streak. It’s too cute, not to!! Anyway, I digress – but if you want to see him go to http://www.crazyheartaussies.com/Nursery.html he’s at the bottom.

Sunny - *Sends STRONG healing vibes to Sunny* Oh, you better get well girl friend! I’m hoping you’re undergoing the worst of it now and will feel better soon. But DO NOT WORK OUT!!! I’ve had it make me feel worse the next day. Take it easy and rest. I hope the antibiotics kick in quickly!! When do you leave for your cruise?

Jackie – I love iClimb 17! The ball work is great. Hopefully next time! SuperSets is fun, too.

Chauffer Judy – there are times when I’m very thankful my 17 yo has her license – but I think I’d drive her into a city 80 miles away anyway. Hope your week eases soon. Your DD’s job sounds very interesting! Wow! Good for her!

Susan – So good to hear you’re running again! How exciting! You’ll have to bring the girls by to play with the puppy. They’d love it (and he needs company of all ages and sexes if I want him to be well socialized). I’m so jealous of you sharing a room with Carole and Shelly. I want to go too!!! *stamps foot like the spoiled child she is*

Linda – sorry you had a bad day! Glad to hear the TM works, though! What a fiasco with that! And I’m glad you are liking it!

Shelly – I think you still hold the record for the most killer workout in one day – with that leg blast series you did!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Christine,
OMG!!! The puppies are so cute. I will definitley bring my girls to come see him. They would LOVE that and I would love to see you again too. You had one heck of a workout}( Yes, I am running again and being very cautious. It does not help that I am amongst a bunch of crazy women doing 2-3 leg workouts a day(LOL)!!! I will never catch any of you, but will definitley keep trying ;-)

Susan
