RE: It's Official!!!

OK, everyone post some ideas of what sort of challenge they'd like to do!! I'm IN!! I'd love to drop another 5 lbs & be really ready for swim suit season which is really right around the corner!! ;-) (after having to wear my suit to the Y, I'm seeing the areas I want to work on!! )

RE: It's Official!!!

Laurie ::: I think I’m gonna aim to try ‘em out tomorrow…I’ll let you know how I fare! I wasn’t too crazy about KM at first, either…Now I’ve warmed up to it. Powerstrike is supposed to arrive on Friday along with a Janis Saffell one. Can’t wait!

Kristi ::: I love FitDay, too. Yes, it was actually a productive day. I’m glad you like the shirts – me, too!

Jess ::: Yippee on the completed project!…Yes, zigzagging would be the same idea, just with calories. Tom Venuto (BFFM author) recommends 3 days at the low end followed by 1 day of calories at maintenance level or slightly higher. Of course, everyone has to tweak that plan a little to make it work for them, but that’s supposed to be a good starting point…Thanks for the kind words about teachers…Yes, I do feel better. Even though I worked much of the day, it wasn’t intense and I feel rested. I still plan to hop on the tm for a nice & easy walk, then dinner and early to bed. Did you say swimsuits?? SHHHH! ;-) Re: a bikini challenge, I am already involved something similar at my school, but I wouldn’t mind participating in something here, too.

RE: It's Official!!!

Christine, that is great advice! I will remember that when I start stressing especially as it gets closer. Thank you!

RE: It's Official!!!

Hey Cathy, I'll be waiting to hear what you think of PowerStrike, I have 1 and 2, I like them both but prefer 2. I always have lats DOMS after PowerStrike. I've got some Janis Saffell that I'm sure I would like if I invested the time to get the combos down. Cathe spoils us, her combos flow, are challenging but aren't 'brain burners' like some other instructors but it is fun to explore other workouts.

Sounds like zigzagging has worked for a few Cheetahs, it's a new concept to me but my mind is open:) I think a bit of a challenge here would help with my accountability, I WISH I only had 5 lbs to get rid of:p

I'd better go feed the starving children, gnocci for supper tonight with basil, onions, yogurt, garlic and parmesan:9 My challenge is not nibbling while I cook, I CAN DO IT!!!:7

Take Care
Laurie

RE: It's Official!!!

Laurie :: I think what I ordered is Powerstrike 1. It is the only one Collage Video had available. (The Powerstrike website itself wouldn't take me to the products page.) I think the Janis Saffell one I ordered is called Hardcore K'boxing Circuit. Is that one that you have? Hopefully the choreography won't be too complex. Generally, I am good w/ picking up k'boxing routines - just not step! :) I have much more than 5 to lose! (More like 20!) Mmm, gnocci! Sending you lots of strong willpower vibes!!

I just walked on the treadmill for 30 min. while watching Seinfeld. It was a comfortable, slow pace (3.5) ~ a little TOO comfortable. I wound up only being in my HR zone for 10 of those 30 minutes. Maybe I should turn the crazy beeping feature back on until I get a better feel for what my target zone feels like. Afterward, I slipped on the weighted gloves and did the 10 min. K'boxing Arms & Shoulders workout just to try 'em out. (Normally, I'd do that one with 5 lb. weights.) Anywho, for a full-length k'boxing workout, those things'll definitely crank up the challenge factor!!

OK, I better figure out what I'm wearing to work tomorrow. In case I don't stop back, have a great night!!

Cathy :)

Never thought I'd see the day where I would seriously consider whapping the next person who emailed me upside the head with that silly putty hammer! WOW! I'm feeling like things are absolutely nutso here. But, I would rather have it that way, than be bored.

I ended up going to the gym by myself - we had a meeting that went past the classes, so my co-worker did not want to go. I did 15 minutes each on the tm, bike and elliptical. I did it to iTri 12 - holy cow! That's a TOUGH one! After you run, climb, and ride, then you START at a 4% grade and a decent clip, go up to a 5%, then bring it down for a BRIEF recovery then take up the speed. The last run is 25 minutes long. If you ever want a challenge - go with that one.

Hello,

I am feeling it in my legs today . I did alot of leg work this morning in class. I finally got my jari love workouts and previewed them. I think of the two It looked like ripped to the core was better. I didnt really care for the breaks inbetween each exercise though. Will have to see once I actually do the workout. I am also waiting on turbo jam get on the ball. they should be here next week sometime.

cathy-tshirts look great!

I am in the same boat as alot of you girls, my eating has caused me to gain extra wt and it doesnt seem to want to come off. I am trying to eat better and do good on some days but some days I fall off the wagon. I havent been this heavy in 2 yrs and it gets depressing at times. Oh well.

chat with you all later!

cut my other post short cuz DH came in and was being nosy. I dont really like him reading my posts. anyway, I am getting frustrated about these extra pds but I will not give up . alot of it is because I am not running nearly as much as I do in the warmer weather. Once I start more days of running I know I will at least drop a few of them. I would love to get back to where I was at my lowest. On another subject for those of you having issues with your bowels or stomach I found this yogurt called activia that has stuff in it that helps regulate your digestive system and it has helped me almost immediately. I also add Kashi go lean crunch cereal in it for extra protein and fiber. I havent been bloated or constipated since eating it. I also havent had any other dairy product either so that might be help;ing also since I am lactose intolerant.

well off to watch american idol. chat with you all later!

I'm in on a food/Cheetha check in. I can't stop over eating. It seems like I was in control until Christmas Day (MIL was here for a week and she loves to have bad food out in view all the time even though I've told her I'm a compulsive eater and can't have it in the house.
Now my appetite is out of control.
I did run 3 miles today for the first time since Jan. 3rd.
Back to using running for Cardio alternating with Cathe workouts for weights and cross training. Now to start planning my meals. It's so hard cooking for a family and watching what you eat. Oh well. What is the alternative?
