Good morning!
Wendy-I don't blame you one bit, either! Probaby a wise choice on your part. First, to avoid any pitfalls or chances of injury. Second, you really want your first race experience to be a good one...to set the stage for the NEXT and the NEXT ones.
Happy WET Saturday. Mike (fiance) and I were planning on taking our 4 kids camping all weekend, but this storm is changing our plans. We put off leaving until today, but the rain is forecasted to last right into Monday morning. Sad about that, as we all love camping. However, my alternate plan is to camp in my LIVING ROOM! LOL. Seriously, if we decide to forgo the camping trip, I'll be setting the tent up in my living room, getting out the indoor s'mores maker, lighting the lantern and having indoor camping fun.
OK...now...I need your ladies' WISE ADVICE and input. I'll try to keep this brief. My half is 09/17 and my full is 10/29. I'm prepared for the half no matter what. But my mental state towards running has changed over the last few months, and I'm not sure why. In short, I get a rebellious nature about me whenever I feel 'boxed in' or cluttered. Sort of like a claustrophobia of sorts (lol). I like the ability to choose what to do and when, and that goes for my workouts as well. I just haven't been finding the gumption to run as I need to run to train for the full. Also, the timing of my full is not as wise as I thought it was. Both my boys' BDays are in October (10/17 & 10/29...fullis on 10/29). Here's my question....I can defer my entry fee for the Marine Corps Marathon until next year, and I'm considering doing that. Since I found out I can defer, I feel like a weight has been lifted. However, I don't want to quit. What are your thoughts? This has nothing to do with injury, fundraising, etc. Just my mental state of running these days.
Thanks....
Gayle
