Cheetah Check-In Monday 8/14

Hey Shelly! Yep, Viper was the ticket. I feel good now, and a lot less tired. It was just getting the ole butt in gear to do it! Your run and weekend sound really nice! And yep, I highly recommend the iTrains - so I'll help enable. Have fun with KickMax!

Elaine - WAY TO GO! Glad to hear you enjoyed your 18 mile run! What a relief that must be. I'm impressed!

Wendy - oh yeah, I love my coach stuff. I actually have 2 purses - one I inherited when my mom passed away - a wallet and the wristlet. My wristlet was a Valentine's Day gift from DH. It's even red leather.

Well, not sure what's on the agenda for the rest of the day, but I'm enjoying the afterglow of my workout. There's nothing quite like being way too tired to workout, but forcing yourself anyway, and feeling fabulous afterwards. Enjoy ladies!

Hey cheetahs-

Laurie :: sounds like you had a great run...WTG! *lol* about your reaction to the gel.

Katie :: sorry about your daughter being sick. Hope she's feeling better today. Which workout is HSC, btw? My collection is limited.

Pamela :: I can see why you're partied out! I get like that, too, where I deliberately won't schedule anything else for an entire weekend just to get a breather. I'm the kind of person who needs to be "dead to the world" sometimes.

Carole :: a massage every 3 weeks sounds like heaven! I wish!

Christine :: how was your circuit workout?

Elaine :: awesome run yesterday! I know what you mean about that mental block...it is a great feeling to come back strong after a lousy run.

I am still pretty pumped from this morning's Cardio Kickboxing class taught by THE Cathe. It was awesome! But I think I'm gonna be feeling the pain later. Whew! It was tough. Another fan made the trek all the way from Michigan to see her. She was super nice and posed for a pic, which I'll be adding to a Picture Trail shortly. (I'll be the one who looks half dead.)

Hi to Jess, Barb, Barbara, Wendy, Shelly, Marcia, Judy, Laura, Mattea, Thomasina, Gayle, and anyone else I've missed.

Have a great day, everyone!
cathy :)

HI Runners :7

Barb- I like your house pictures. Thanks you for sharing :)

Wendy- It is a good idea to pay attention to how your body feels; if it needs rest don't deny it. Good luck with the 'running toys'

Carole- Good news about your nephew sitting up for 30". The advances will be slow but they will happen!

Welcome back Gayle- I knew you were still running just not posting!

Elaine- Wow! Your report of you great 18 mile run was an inspriation to me. It is reason to read this checkin we can all benefit from the experience.

Hi Shelly and Christine and Jes and Mattea and Laurie :)

Oh, I almost forgot: Today I ran 5.3 miles and cooled down with about a .2or.3 mile walk and had a good stretch. Back at home I did another good stretch and core Max. My hip is hurting now while I am sitting at the computer , but I will get up and do some more stretching.

Hi again.

Quick answers.....

Wendy-the baby girl is my best friend's new daughter. They live right across the street from me so I'm in baby heaven once again without having to do all the work.

Elaine-my long run this weekend is 13 miles. I have tweaked the team's training run schedule from day 1, since I know what works for me. They actually have 18 this weekend. I'm doing more of a long, slowly progressing schedule this time around.

Cathy-YOU MET CATHE????? I missed that news somehow! Isn't it so GREAT to workout with her? I was on a Cloud 9 HIGH for weeks after last year's road trip!

OK..............bye for now!

Gayle

Cathy-it worked GREAT! And look at the two of you both SWEATY!!! LOVE IT! How close do you live to her club? A few weeks ago, I was trying to make a trip to the Jersey shore and hit Cathe's club on the way there and on the way back, but I ran out of summer weeks! LOL.

Gayle

Gayle...Hi!! Nice to see you...:)

Laurie...can your chiro adjust your ankle?..I have that done after long trail runs sometimes. But yes have your shoes checked out. The music in the iTrain workouts is good. I could have sworn the last couple if songs in iTread #9 40 min were disco!...:)...Good job on the 16K...yes some of the gels have a nasty consistancy. I tried one yesterday that might work better for me. It was a Hammer Gel (Expresso) and I like those as they are not so darn sweet...

Christine....your friends DD sounds like quite an accomplished young girl...very nice to see that. Good job with the Viper, now enjoy the glow the rest of today!

Shelly...a 4 mile run and Kickmax?? WOW!!...I do hope my nephew continues to improve. They are going to try and have him sit up again today. Yes, P90X in a little while. The iTrains workouts are really good!!!

Elaine WTG!!!! You did one awesome 18 miler . Kicking it up better than marathon pace is a great way to end the run. It'll keep you strong...

Wendy...I should be getting my Elliptical this afternoon!! I have been doing the iClimbs and iTreads on my Nordic Track. And they are kicking my butt! A rest day isn't so bad after all the running...:)

Barbara...loved the pics! Your house is really cute. And lots of room for all your workout stuff in the basement...thanks for sharing those...:)

Cathy....great pic of you and Cathe. I'll bet that was a tough class!!

Judy...thanks and I do agree the advances for John are slow. But one day at a time! Sorry you still are having some hip pain...:(...I hope the stretching helps..

I did iTread #9 40 mins today on my Nordic. Wow!! It is really nice to use my Nordic this way, Kicks my HR right up there. I'll be doing P90X Shoulders and Arms in a bit. I bet the Elliptical comes during that workout...

Cathy - GREAT PIC!!! Thanks so much for sharing. I think it's wonderful that you were able to take her class! Good for you! I love that she can teach now, too - means new workouts SOON!

Carole - Oh have fun with your elliptical!! I know you'll be on it once you get it!

DD17 is in the garage (our workout room) doing Legs and Glutes again - she loves that one. She also tried KPC and the abs (her abs are still sore). I'm impressed that she can do these and that she's enjoying them.

hello,

I managed to get out of bed this morning and did my elliptical for 30minutes. This time I didnt try to do the pre-programmed workout and was able to do the entire thirty minutes no problem. Man those pre workouts are tough.

jess out of all the windsor workouts which did you have the best results with? I have the original hips/thighs/bun workout. I did that for awhile a couple days a week. dont know that I really saw a big difference though.

nice to hear from you gayle.

elaine greeat job on the 18 miles.wow!!
cathy I would love to meet cathe in person some day!!
hi to everyone else!!!

talk with you all later!

Gayle : I live about 10 miles from her club. Now I am debating whether or not to join...Not sure that it makes sense, however, as my work is 14 miles from home in the OPPOSITE direction. It is a REALLY nice gym, though...

Carole :: thank you. You must have one helluva workout room with a Nordic and soon an elliptical! I hope John did well today sitting up.

Christine :: your daughter LIKES GS Legs?? She must be some kind of masochist! *ha ha* j/k... Did you pre-order the new workouts? Is there any information out on what they're going to be like? I know this may sound blasphemous to some here, but I just put my Imax 2 DVD up for sale on ebay. Intricate step routines are just not for me, so I'm wondering what's on tap for the new DVDs.

Laura :: glad you're making progress w/ your new elliptical!

I am POOPED...I think it'll be an early night for me...I know I'm gonna be sore from today's butt-kickin'.

Okay, I'm frustratedx( I just spent too long writing personals to post and after opening a new window to see Cathy and Cathe's picture I lost it all:( x( Here's the Reader's Digest Condensed version...

Elaine and Shelly thanks for the Shok block suggestion, I'll definitely try them, the sweet pasty stuff isn't for me!

Wendy, thanks for your encouraging words, they mean a lot:) Enjoy your new running stuff!

Barb and Cathy thanks for sharing new pics. Cathy, it's very nice to see Cathe looking drenched and a bit dishevelled after a workout. I still never look that cute (as both of you) after a tough workout:)

Carole, the Chiro I work with is also a kinesiologist and will definitely adjust my ankles. I'll see him tomorrow morning. The other chiro seldom does adjustments off of the spine and a lot of people complain about that. An espresso gel sounds good to this fellow coffee loving Cheetah, mine was strawberry/banana, not so great!

This is my second last day of holidays. It's been nice letting my nails grow a bit but I'll have to clip them back to nubs tomorrow night. Had a really nice day with 11 year old Faith today, touring a local waterfront festival, shopping and enjoying some escargot and brushetta on a patio. She's my most adventurous eater of the 3 Girls. Faith is excited beyond words as she turns 12 tomorrow. Maybe I can start eating better on Wednesday, she's requested a home made mocha chocloate layer cake with raspberry jam in the middle and chocolate icing.......nothing clean about that! We're taking 4 of her girlfriends to see Pirates of the Carribean and then to dinner, it'll be nice to get back to work so I can rest a bit :+

Take Care
Laurie:)

Laurie :: sorry your post disappeared when trying to view my pic! Would you believe just as I finished typing a reply a few minutes ago, I lost my internet connection and had to start over again, too? Grr--hate when that happens! Anywho, I agree--I thought Cathe looked great despite being somewhat disheveled. Thank you for the compliment...but I gotta say, I felt like a blimp standing next to her! *lol* Man, is she tiny!

Enjoy your last day of vaca w/ the girls!

Wow- that's so cool that you got to meet Cathe!!! You both look like you got in a great workout!! How fun!! TFS!

Hugs,

Good job getting out of bed, Laura!

As for the Winsor workouts, when I very first started I only had the basic infomercial package which had the basic 20 min workout (very slow & drawn out, but showed the basic moves, I haven't done that one again in ages), accelerated body sculpting (55 min & was one of my favorites when I first started!) & the 20 min band workout. Then I got ab sculpting & bun/ thigh sculpting, upper body sculpting & advanced body slimming (all about 20 min workouts which you can get at Target). Then I got one of my most favorite workouts once I was stronger & that is the 50 min Maximum burn super sculpting & body slimming. I LOVE that workout. And when I got the sculpting circle I started doing the 35 min Advanced workout which I LOVE also. And the 45 min Ball workout. It's hard to say which one was the *best* since I did a variety of them. I think for me that memorizing them & kind of mixing them up to do when I wanted/ how I wanted was the best for me. I do buns/ thighs nearly every night while watching tv or playing on the floor w/ my kids.

HTH some!

Hugs,

Well, I did end up doing PUB & did the abs plus the stability ball legs on PLB. And we took about a 1.5 mile walk after dinner while the girls rode their bikes & then played frisbee/ hung out in the nice weather!

Tomorrow's my 9 mile mid-week run, gotta get up early so I'm heading to bed soon!! Have a great night & I'll post after my run in the morning!

Hugs,

Holy moly. By the time I've read all the posts my DS and DH are back and I have to get off of the computer.
I'm the last to post. It's 9pm in Minneapolis.
I didn't run yesterday. I took one more day off for my ankle to heal so it's been one whole week since I had the bad experience with the 6 mile day.
I did GS C&T today, Kick Max yesterday and C & W on Sat.
I intend to run tomorrow and see how it goes.
We must all be on a "Clean Max" vibe. I've weeded and cleaned and now have started a toy purge. DS had a side walk sale and made $13 today.
I will learn the names of all you Cheetahs but please be patient with me until I do.

Colleen
