Checkin 9-1-01

Hi Denice,

I'd love to check in daily, I agree it could be supportive, getting one another ideas etc.....When do we start?

Trese

Trese,
I like the Firm very much although I pretty much do Cathe's exclusively. I never liked combining cardio and strength. I had alot of the firm ALL Weight vids but I think my sister has them now. I have Cathe on DVD except the very first DVD. I love them! I used to use only running for cardio but the workouts are so awesome and there are so many choices with Cathe, I am only getting in about two days of running per week. I have Slow and Heavy, but haven't tried it yet! I am scared. I have watched it and it's a killer!

Lynn,
RS is so much fun but goodness, I think 6" might be THE step height for me with that one!
I did BodyMax yesterday on 8" just fine, but Rhythmic Step, which doesn't have the intensity, moves so quickly, you've gotta get each move the first time because she's onto the next thing before you know it! Cathe's unrelenting! It's a blast though and I can't wait to do it again!

RE: Labour Day check in

Hi everyone

Labour Day is one of the few stat holidays that Canadians and the United States acknowledge on the same day.

Aimee, it sounds to me like you know what you are doing and that you have formulated your own plan. Go with it and do what you know since I believe you are quite knowledgeable and your plan does seem to be working for you. Eveyone seems to have their own advice and you must take what you want from that and leave the rest.

Here was my week:

Monday - rest day after triathlon

Tuesday - Rollerblade with my man for 45 minutes

Wednesday - rest again

Thursday - Step Heat

Friday - walk at least a couple of hours since I was away from home in a city with no vehicle during the shopping hours.

Saturday - run 60 minutes, 103 pushups (43 at first and sets of 10 thereafter) and complete upper body workout in the hotel gym

Sunday - rest again.

Have a great week everyone.

Hi Trese, We can start I guess tomorrow being that most people are out and about today, you can do the honors if you like, and we will see who joins us. I know I can use all the support and or idead I can get, well i am off to the t-tapp forum to learn more about this, it sounds like something I may try, talk to you later. Denice.

Hi Denice,

Happy Holiday ;o) I will post sometime today about the check in. I will simply call it the *Daily Check-In* unless you can think of something more catchie. I don't want too call it a challenge, cuz....so many of us; participating, in the *4 Month Holiday Challenge* Well, I hope you enjoy your day. Me and dear boyfriend, we're going too a cook out, ttys ;o)

Trese

Hey! Denice and anyone else who want to join in ;o)

I just thought of something, why don't you start the Wedding Rotation with me. This is just my second day. You can always tweak, the rotation, really. It is, hmmmm I believe for 8 weeks. My goal for this rotation is too lose 1 to 1 1/2lbs per week. And, gain more muscle's and muscle tone, all within a eight week period. I feel that's realistic. What do ya think?

RE: Labour Day check in

Hi guys, I'm back from a wonderful 3 days in the mountains (so cold!)--back to the heat of Scottsdale...
Here is my week:
SUNDAY: S&H Chest and Back

MONDAY: IMAX--first time using a step for a workout in a long time, because of my bad knee, and I did it! whoopee!!! (modified some moves, like power scissors, which are just not right for my poor knees...

TUESDAY: Still Jumpin'

WEDNESDAY: S&H Tris and Bis

THURSDAY: S&H legs and Shoulders

FRIDAY: Rhythmic Step (squeezed in wu, I and challenge before we left for the weekend!)

SATURDAY: rest

SUNDAY: 3 hour strenuous hike (uphill both ways ;-) )

I need to go heavier on S&H, and I feel so much of it in my back--I guess because of the table top position...

:) Wendy

Hey Everyone!

Boy, do I miss talking to you guys lately! My past few weeks have been crazy! We just got rid of (LITERALLY!!!) some out-of-towners that came in for the long weekend and whew, let's just say this, I am not used to three lil' cutie pies under my feet that are all four years old and under! I went downstairs at 10:00 tonight and did S&H~Bis & Tris and I feel so much better already! I hope to get back into my normal schedule by tomorrow! I am busy still trying to finalize all things for my new Hi/Lo classes that start in two weeks. So far, things are going well. I am so glad I decided to take the risk and go on my own. It's been a bit stressful but I know the first session is expected to be. The paper work was unbelievable but now most of that is done. It will get easier every session. Okay, enuf rambling. Here's my week:

MONDAY~My hubby came down to the church I teach my classes and took a video for my instructors. Talk about nerves! As soon as I saw that red light go on, I froze and forgot my very first routine! YIKES! Made it thru alive! :7 , had a practice with the other instructor's that night

TUESDAY~Taught a Hi/Lo class, S&H~BIS & TRIS & ABS

WEDNESDAY~S&H~LEGS & SHOULDERS, jogged 4 miles, practiced routines

THURSDAY~Taught a Hi/Lo class, S&H~CHEST & BACK, included Superman, plankwork and reverse plankwork! TOUGH STUFF! :-tired

FRIDAY~PowerStrike-Advanced Series #1, first time to do this tape. I like it and got most moves down but looked quite uncoordinated on a few! I was definitely dripping when done. (Thanks, Cinza for the great deal!) I am STILL sore in my back and shoulders from all the punches!

SATURDAY~Unplanned rest day due to company! :-(

SUNDAY~Normally my day of rest, but was able to do PowerHour! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this tape! It just gets better & better every time I do it!

Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day. We went to the Cleveland Air Show to see the Blue Angels perform. We met up with Julie, Scott and Kennedy. (Had to put cotton balls in her lil' ears as those planes were real LOUD! We Band-aided them in! She was quite a site but enjoyed her very first air show!) Have a great week all and sorry for being so wordy tonight. Great week for you all!

RE: Hey Everyone!

Your opinion, please, on how Power Strike compares to Taebo Advanced.

Hey HB!

Hmmmm, I think that you would really like PS even though you love TaeBo. It is different in that the form of the gals is next to perfect. It is also more choreographed then Billy. I don't think that the moves are quite as fast. Not that it isn't an intense workout. I was one big SweatBall when I got done. It seemed to go very fast and if I'm not mistaken the workout is between 50-60 minutes long. The tape is filmed during a live class so the instructors are up on a platform facing the class. It had a fun factor to it. Want to borrow my tape? I think you'd be very pleased.

RE: Hi Trese!!!

Aimee -

Have you seen the latest issue of Muscle and Fitness Hers? They are having a contest to select one of their readers as a cover girl on one of their issues! I thought of you right away since I've been reading your posts about getting ready for your competition on October 27. Since you sound like you're in AMAZING shape why not send in some pictures for this contest to enter the M&F Hers one as well. The deadline is November 2 (I think - would have to double-check that). Anyway, check out the latest issue and see what you think. They fly you to Los Angeles to do the photo shoot during the first week in January, 2002. No monetary awards - just the airfare, hotel, meals, etc. and the glory of being a "cover girl". They may even interview you for an article in the magazine. You could tell everyone about using Cathe videos to get in shape. Or do we want to keep Cathe a secret among ourselves?;-)

Let me know if you think about entering.

Sue

103 PUSHUPS

103 PUSHUPS!
That is tremendous!
How long did it take to get up to that many? Are these from your toes?

Who else is doing this many pushups?

Great job!

RE: Hey HB!

Hi, can you tell me where I can order this tape ? Denice.

Hi Denice!

I am having trouble finding the site you can order the vids from. I went to their http://www.powerstrike.com site but it is still under construction. I'll see if I can get the info from Cinza. (who I bought my tape from) Cinza, you out there? Denice, in the meantime, you can go to their site and read up on the tapes and the gals who do them. I'll be back to you soon.

RE: Hi Denice!

Thanks Debbie, Ill do that I tried collage but didnt see it there keep me posted thanks again you are always so helpful, Denice.

RE: Hey HB!

Yeah, I'd like to check it out! Thanks. No hurry, though. I know you're super busy right now.

RE: Hi Sue!!

I sure did see that contest, and while I thought about it, I do not think I'm pretty enough to be on the cover of a magazine. Would be cool though. Maybe, if I get my body the way I want it by then, they can cut off my head and just do a body shot;-)?! He he he!! I don't know, maybe I will enter in........
I would definitely teel the world about Cathe!! I'm tired of people thinking that at home exercisers aren't all that fit!! I'm preparing for this contest entirely at home!! Maybe if I do good at the contest, I'll be able to tell people about Cathe there too.
Anyway, I have pondered the idea of sending in photos especially since I'll be in contest shape before the deadline. If I do decide to I'll let you all know.
Thank you for thinking of me like that!! It makes my day:)!! You all are wonderful!!
