I bought a bottle of Jacobs Creek Chardonnay. I didnt like it. I went to a dinner party the other night and they had some Chardonnay
that tasted really good.

Can someone please recommnded some good Chardonnay

I'm more of a red wine drinker and don't love Chardonnay; however, whenever I've have Simi Chardonnay, I really enjoy it.

I love a good Chardonnay. I don't like really buttery ones, though - more crisp and clear tasting. My favorite medium priced wines are:

Beringer Napa Valley (NOT the Founder's Estate)
La Crema
Clos du Bois Alexander Valley
Alexander Valley Chardonnay
Kendal Jackson (not as good as the others - but you can find it more readily and it is good)
Acacia
St Suprey
Clos du Bois (DH really likes this one - I find it ok - but the Alexander Valley is phenomenal)
Rombauer (more buttery and also more costly)
Chateau St. Jean

I really like the Chardonnay's from Alexander Valley - if you want to experiment, you cannot go wrong with them. The climate is perfect for Chardonnay.

All of these except the Rombauer can be found for under $20.00 - sometimes 1/2 that - if they are on sale. The Romabuer is about $25

Cakebread Cellars out of Napa.... Tastes like Butter .... Absolute bliss! Very hard to find and a bit pricey unless you're in CA but so worth it for special occasions.... I stopped drinking all other Chardonnays years ago after visiting the winery...

Not a huge Chardonnay fan, more a red wine drinker. I do enjoy Sauvignon Blanc for whites. I don't like the oaky aspect to Chardonnays from California. So if I do drink a Chardonnay, I try to buy a Chard from Australia or New Zealand where they tend to be unoaked (if that's a word). Much lighter and remind me more of Sauvignon Blanc.

LOVE Cakebread Cellars!!!! And I definitely prefer a buttery chardonney to the fruiter ones.

Unfortunately, Chardonney is one of those wines that doesn't always do well with food. And then there's that whole oak vs. non-oaked difference.

If I'm doing a white, I usually go for a pinot gris, sauvignon blanc, or white burgundy.

Menage a Trois white table wine. Light, fruity, just enough sweet and crisp. This stuff is just perfect alllll by itself!!! :)

My BF and I enjoy Landmark Overlook chardonnay. I like tootie-frootie wines to be perfectly honest and I thought this one would be too sophisticated for me since my BF prefers drier wines. But we both loved it. It's about $20+ for a bottle but worth it for a special occasion.

What are some good red wines? My cholesterol is high and I need to drink more red wine but Iam having a tough time finding one I like.

Roxie, maybe you should try a Pinot Noir if you're looking to enjoy some red wines. They're not as heavy as a Cabernet so it's a good place to start for someone who isn't real fond of red wine. I recently tried a Pinot Noir from Robert Mondavi, which I liked a lot. Pinot Noirs can be expensive, but this one was pretty reasonable, around 12.99, I think.
