CC-PP - Checking in - How'd you do?

Am I really the first to check in? I can't believe it!

Got done on the bike about a half hour ago, and the kids even left me alone for the most part! Yeah! I was thinking about Jim, Michele's DFIL, Becky's DH, and Carola throughout the workout, and I think I pushed even harder than I ever have before. Nothing like focusing on others to put one's own life in perspective.

Although I don't pay much attention to the calories measurement on my bike because I think it's pretty useless, I did notice today that the number turned over while I was working out! It only has 3 digits, and I must have gone over 1000, because suddenly it was back to single digits. I've never done that before! (But of course there's no way I burned over 1000 calories.)

Hope everyone else's workout goes just as well and that y'all have a great day and great weekend!

Hi Jodi, you little early bird, you!! I hope you had a beautiful Christmas.

I'm going to do my workout in a few minutes. I slept in a little this morning so I'm getting a late start. Thank you for remembering my DFIL in your workout. It means a lot to me. :)

I, too, will be thinking of Jim, Carola, Becky's DH, and my DFIL, and just trying to send out general GREAT vibes to everyone! I'll check back when I'm done. :D

Hey you guys -- check your email. We have a lovely note from Coach Santa. And he's doing the workout with us!!!

I'm done and I'm proud of myself. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to complete the workout with the extra challenge (I haven't done a workout in at least 3 weeks  ), but I made it, extra challenge and all! I confess my stats are down, but just a little -- maybe 5%. I'll take it. ;)

There's a point in the workout, right around the 54 minute mark, where I get my wind and recharge. I always know if I can hang on until then I'll be all right.

I thought of all of you, and I know we say this every workout, but it still amazes me how just the knowledge that we are in this together inspires me to go on. This workout feels like a gift every time I do it.

I did it!! I did it!! It was my first time with this workout and I made it through the whole way. I feel great and am thankful to all of you for introducing me to this workout. I look forward to continuing to join all of you every month and, hopefully, I'll get to the point where I can add on the extra challenges...(right now I'm just happy finishing the five in there!) :)

Alicia

I finished the workout a little while ago. I added Coach Santa' s challenge and repeated another challenge twice. I was very motivated this morning just thinking about Jim, Michele's DFIL, Becky's DH, Carola & all of you doing this workout. I too, get very moved (literally and figuratively ;)) everytime I do CCPP knowing that we're in this together. It gives me goose bumps and Michele, you're right this workout does feel like a gift!

Great Job Everyone!

Done! Whew, and I SURVIVED! Jodi, I went over 1,000 calories too! (1,266!)

I dedicated my workout to Jim, Carola, Becky's DH & Michele's DFIL, any Cathe or Sean fans facing any sickness/loss/injuries. I also dedicated it to my family members I have lost: My mom, dad & brother and DFIL. Thought of each & everyone during the trying times of the workout!

Here are my stats...not sure how accurate they are but I sure did push HARD!

Minutes: 79:13
Miles: 11.5
Calories: 1,266
Laps on Elliptical 46+

I added in an extra 2 minute steady-state before I took on the last & final add-on challenge of Vol 7! Boy, did the stretch feel good! Great job Michele & Jodi and all those planning to take it on! C U next month!

Yipeee Shirl! Great to have you join in! Awesome job!

Alicia, WELCOME! Glad to have you here! We look forward to "seeing" you next month!

Hi Friends!

CCPP is done for December 2008! For equipment I chose the (semi recumbent stationary) bike.

80 minutes
25 miles
(did not pay attention to calories)

I got to the end and went to do the extra challenge from coach Santa and realized that I forgot to sync my iPod. So I did it from my CC#7 play list.

I just saw the e-mail from Sean and it is so Kooool that he is participating in Press Play Saturday! My WO today was dedicated to Jim.

I'm done!! I decided to use my elliptical this time and felt pretty good.....no sore hips like I get when I run on the TM. I talked to Sean a few times and not so nicely especially during the extra challenge but he knows I'm just kidding:eek:

I hope Jim felt our collective strength radiating his way as well as all the others who were in our thoughts (Michele's DFIL, Carola, Tanya......).

I gotta send Sean an note cuz I'm not getting the CCPP girls emails he's sending out and I can always use the extra motivation.

High fives to everyone!! You all rock!!:D

JJ

I'm done, too!! I rode it on my bike and trainer. My stats:

81 minutes
17.67 miles
Average Speed 13.6
Calories - 1434 (I think my HRM is very generous)

I really enjoyed this one. It IS motivational riding for others and knowing that during those moments where the going gets tough, that they have endured worse. It helps me push through.

I completed CCPP with the bonus challenge this morning. This one was tough for me for some reason and there were several times I would have quit if I didn't know everyone else was doing it AND the fact I had to experience Coach Santa's bonus.

Phew! I am finished with the CCPP w/ additional challenge. I did it on the treadmill (boring, I know). It felt great to know we were all in this together. Great job everyone...and thanks to Coach Santa for the additional challenge. One minute rests? He must have known I ate too much the last few days!

Carrie

You are all so amazing!

I had high hopes of doing Press Play today, but I did something stupid.

I did a Kettlebell workout last night.... and that's after not working out for over 10 days. And sure enough, today I'm so sore I can hardly walk. What was I thinking?

Then I came on here to confess to you all that I didn't do PP today and that I will definitely do it tomorrow... and I read your posts about thoughts for my DH while doing PP... and now I'm crying. You have no idea how much your positive energy and positive thoughts mean to me and to Mike. And how we truly feel them! I deeply believe in the power of positive thinking and positive energy.

Thank you so much!! We are both so touched. I can't believe the amazing group of people here.

As much as the guilt of not doing it with you all may make me want to go do PP right now, I just know I couldn't give it my all. But I PROMISE I am doing PP tomorrow with the Volume 7 challenge... and with even more positive energy for Jim, Carola, Michelle's DFIL and Mike. And with so much thankfulness for all of you!

Sorry if I'm corny and emotional, but I am just so touched!

Your confession isn't necessary, and there's no need to feel guilty at all! My goodness, there has been more than one PP Saturday where I couldn't do the workout on THE day. Sometimes life just gets in the way. But I'm glad you mentioned that you'll be doing the workout tomorrow so I can send you my positive vibes. :)

Good luck in the workout! And watch out for the bonus challenge. It's a killer!!

Many prayers and PP vibes are coming your way!

I'm probably the last person, I finished up at 11:05 p.m., took a shower and am snacking on a handful of salty pretzels, cuz Coach Sean wrings everything out of me. Is that too much info? :p Luv you Babe!

I got up early this morning to be able to do PP before we headed out of town for a belated Christmas celebration with family. It was a great way to start the day, although finishing that workout and then sitting in the car for a few hours made it tough to move around at first when we arrived! It was well worth it, though.

I didn't get it in yesterday, but did it after church this morning. I did it outside so the hills didn't match up just right, but I still love listening to it and pushing myself through each of the challenges. It was a crisp bright morning and it felt great.

Jean

I did it! I woke up even more sore than yesterday and I was tempted to not do it, but I couldn't bear to come back here and tell you all I chickened out. LOL!

I too did it outside. It was such a clear, cold morning and I had the gorgeous view of the snow capped Rockies. I ran 7.99 miles and even did the extra challenge!! Ok, truth be told, I only did three of the four challenges of Volume 7's challenge one, and then I just ran out of steam. Even though I'm not sure if I'll be able to move tomorrow, I'm so glad that I did it!! Must be the endorphins. LOL.

I was sending so much positive energy to Jim, Carola, Michele's FIL and my Mike. And I could feel your vibes!

I'm so thankful for this check-in. And for Press Play.

Becky

Becky, thank you so much for the positive energy you sent to my DFIL today!

Awesome run, girl!! Okay, how do you guys do it!? How do you manage to cover so many miles in this workout? Y'all are leaving me in your dust!! I have never been able to top 7 miles on the elliptical, darn it!!

^^^5's to everyone who participated in December's PP Saturday!! There's something very special about this workout -- this monthly event. The spiritual and emotional boost I get from it is equal to any cardio benefits. ;)

I'll see you again on January 31. The bonus challenge was handpicked by Mama Deb :) -- Challenge 1 from Volume 3. Make your playlist!! :D
