Cathe, thank you and Dr. Nick

Cathe,

I just wanted to post a thank you for bringing Dr. Nick's book to my attention. While I will continue to exercise hard and at an advanced level, Dr. Nick is helping me to exercise smarter. He is helping me to listen to my body when it speaks; that is, to adapt certain exercises and to add new necessary ones for the survival of my "framework". I tend to have selective hearing when the ole bod says "no, not today, don't do that".

Don't worry, my Cathe DVDs are and always will be smoking from use.:7

I'm really enjoying the book too. (I always tend to read things I want to hear and that I agree with though.) Running my first marathon last year taught me so much about my body and it's limits. I followed a pretty strict running schedule, and really missed and craved that balanced fitness approach! I'm happy to be back to listening to my body. . . until next year that is! (chuckle chuckle) Anyway, my approach to training will be very different next time around. Any other good books we can all read???

Oops one more question. Cathe, would you consider doing a set of "Framework" workouts with that doctor? Maybe a dvd chaptering of those top 20 injuries. . . with specific exercises to help prevent them? Just one more thing to add to your to do list! (And to our wish lists!)

Hi Wendy! This is actually something that I had considered also. I know Dr. Nick is a very busy man, so if not with him I was considering doing something similar with my therapists (in addition to continuing on with my classic advanced offerings of course). However, at this point, this is totally just a thought to add to the long list of my future filming possibilities. As I always say, my current project is my absolute top priority now :)

Hi Melody! So glad you are enjoying his book and its message. I'm a strong advocate for listening to ones body too. Its great that this advice has been helpful to you. Keep up the great work :)

Hi Aneagle! The book is called FRAMEWORK: Your 7-Step Program For Healthy Muscles, Bones, and Joints. Funny, when I go see him for my check up this Thursday I will have an armful of friends books for him to sign personally. Great bicep workout ;-)

I got the book too and have just cracked it. I need it badly. I have had many injuries and have some very specific biomechanical issues I know the book will help me deal with more effectively. I could be a boomeritis poster woman. :) I know I'll be seeing a doc regarding my knees soon. It's great to know I can continue to train in spite of my issues. I have a fantasy about pre-ordering when you are in your eighties and creating series for the advanced geriatric exerciser. ;)
