Cathe Calendar Results for February!!!

BelovedHeather

Cathlete
February was an interesting month. I made a commitment to post my progress every month this year even when my results could have been better. Accountability is important. I experimented with doing my Cathe workouts in the evening instead of in the morning. This plan looked good on paper because it would allow me to sleep later than 4:00 a.m. and still have time for my Bible study. This was definitely not one of my better ideas. As soon as I started working out after work, I hit a plateau and started battling the blues. Morning workouts are far more effective and powerful in every way. Last week, my weight and measurements had not budged a bit since the beginning of the month. I returned to morning workouts this week and dropped 4 pounds. I recorded my results on my Cathe calendar this morning:

-4 pounds in February
-1" chest
-1" waist
-1" abdomen
-1" hips
-0" right thigh
-0" right calf
-0" right upper arm

-20 pounds in 2007
-2" chest
-6" waist
-6" abdomen
-4" hips
-1" right thigh
-½" right calf
-½" right upper arm

I am still loving my Cathe calendar. The picture for March is inspiring me to try the Gym Styles for the first time. I lost a few weeks of progress in February as a result of my evening workout experiment, but there is no time for down time this month. What a timely quote! Cathe is waiting for me, so I am off to enjoy High Step Challenge to blast off this new month. I am looking forward to a victorious March now that I am back on track with morning workouts.

Blessings,
Heather B.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12:1 NIV).

Heather,

How interesting that switching to evening workouts made such a difference for you. I bet you're glad to learn that, and now be back to your a.m. workouts. Best wishes for great success in March, and thanks for posting your monthly results -- I enjoy reading your stories!

Allison

Heather, I assume you're doing the Feb rotation right now? If so, I'm doing it too and have tracked my progress as well. I don't have a Cathe Calendar but I can see how it would motivate you. I may just be motivated to get one as well;-) Congratulations on your incredible weight loss and great results! Here's my results from the Feb rotation:
I have also lost 1.5 inched from my waist
.5 inches off my thighs
.8 or so inches from my hips
1 inch from the area under my bra line
and .2 or .3 (not really all that easy to read) off my calves

Heather & Carolyn-
Congrats on all your success in February... including the mental ones! Have a great March.

Heather and Carolyn, CONGRATULATIONS!, and thanks for posting your results. Seeing your progress is so motivating -- it makes me think that maybe even I could complete a rotation.

Thanks Traci and Michele! This has been the first month that I've actually taken the time to keep track of my progress with a rotation. Let me tell you, it's such a motivator to actually SEE results! This is only my 3rd Cathe rotation but I'm loving the results so far.

Carolyn

Heather, you're an inspiration! And Carolyn, I didn't know you were trying to lose anything, but congrats!

I'm too scared to do measurements or weigh myselfx(

Shelley, I actually don't think I lost a pound, just inches. I tend to steer clear of any and all scales as well. They are evil. Somehow I don't mind measuring myself though.
Ok, I'll stop hogging this thread now.

Carolyn

Congratulations, Heather!

I was hoping to see a Cathe calendar thread today. Mind if I share my results?

So far in 2007:
-14 pounds
-2" chest
-3" waist
-3" hip
-1.5" thigh (I measure the right one only)
-1.5" bicep (again, right bicep only)

I admit to putzing around the first half of February but got back on track again these last couple of weeks. I LOVE my Cathe calendar. I use it to record my workouts and think about my goals every night before bed.

Oh, and for cardio I use Cathe and Cardio Coach, and all Cathe for weights.

Have a great day!:7

Heather, your progress is truly inspiring! Inspiring enough to make me want to drag myself out of bed 1 hour earlier in the morning hoping to break my plateau!

I am an evening exerciser, always have been. Simply because I can't bear to get out of bed any earlier than I have to! But, starting tomorrow morning, I am going to make the change.

Thank you for posting your results and CONGRATULATIONS!!! You must be thrilled!

Melissa

Great Job everyone! Here are my results for February:

-3 lbs (-18 total)
-2" chest
-2" waist
-2" hips
-1/2" each thigh
+1/2" each bicep

I started out strong, but had a weak finish. Now I have stitches in my tummy and back from removing moles so I have to take it easy for a couple weeks. I'm going to focus on eating better and hope for the best!

It's great to see everyone's progress - thanks for sharing! ~jasper

Wow! Great job everybody!!!

Heather, you mentioned your bible study. I'm getting ready to start Beth Moore - Daniel study. Have you done that study (I know you're a Beth Moore fan)? I'm really looking forward to it.

Keep the good work you guys!!!:7

Hi Heather,

Congratulation on your weight loss!:)
You are an inspiration!

Keep up the good work and best wishes!

RE: Beth Moore

I hear so many good reviews about Beth Moore's Bible Studies. I would like to try one of hers. Which one would you recommend?

Heather,

Your results are wonderful!

My weight has been pretty much the same since your last month's results post. My monthly comparision is in a couple of weeks. (A week after the completion of my cycle... too much info!) My waist has gone down 1/2 inch. My hips have noticeable shrunk. I'm too lazy to go upstairs to double check. But, it's at least one inch from the hips. My calves & thighs are so stubborn though. My thighs are 1/4" smaller. My calves are the same. I've noticed a huge decrease in cellulite. Its appearance isn't so dependent on what time of month it is anymore. I don't know how else to check this, but my dh tells me that my butt is lifting up. He knows what my body looks like better than I.

Heather,
You are an absolute inspiration! You are open, honest, sincere, sweet and you make me want to aspire to be a better person physically and spiritually. I would really like to meet you one day. Keep up the great work! I think the way you are using your Cathe calendar is so awesome! I didn't order one b/c I'm branching out a little bit, but I MAY be inspired enough to at least begin to journal my eating habits so I can start to make more healthy, positive changes. I'm really, really proud of you!!!

Edited to come back and ask why you think morning vs. afternoon works better for you? I too, would have to get up at 4 to workout in the morning and I've done it before, but it just about KILLS me! I teach special education (very active class) and my late morning, early afternoon slump was astounding. I felt phenominal before my slump, but once the slump hit, it was all downhill. What time do you go to bed? I have trouble falling asleep so that was another thing against my early morning workouts. I LOVED having it done first thing though!

Congratulations, Ladies! That is wonderful! I think I will pass on your information, Heather, about Morning vs. Evening workouts to some friends. That is interesting.

Tina, I just finished Beth Moore's Daniel study. It is wonderful! My favorite of hers so far. But they've all been good. Hope you enjoy it.

Sandra

Thank You!!!

Thanks for celebrating with me and sharing your January results. It inspires me to read success stories!

Allison, thank you! It is good to learn what works and what does not work. I never would have imagined that the timing of workouts could make such a difference. The mental benefits of morning workouts are far greater than the physical ones.

Carolyn, congratulations on your results. I did my own rotation, but I noticed that I was doing some of the same workouts as my check-in friends who were doing Cathe’s February rotation.

Traci, thank you! Have a great March!

Michele, you can do it. Cathe created the March rotation just for you! It has your name all over it. I found the recipe for Texas sheet cake. I will give it to you if you complete the March rotation!

Shelley, thank you for the encouraging words. I am sure you are as fit and fabulous as ever.

GreenEyedLefty, great results! The calendar is what kept me on track in February when I was too tired to do evening workouts. I did not want to have an empty space on my calendar!

Melissa, thank you for the encouragement. Did you get up early and enjoy a morning workout today? You need to start getting to bed earlier too if you want to make this schedule work for you.

Jasper, great results. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

Tina, I have not done the Daniel study yet. I am sure it is a great one.

Belinda, thank you for the kind words.

6Swans4me, thank you. I highly recommend that you start with Beth Moore’s Breaking Free Bible study. She considers it her life’s message, and it is foundational in my opinion. It is my all-time favorite. Think of it as the IMAX2 of Bible studies. Believing God is another favorite.

Angela, I would love to meet you someday too. Are you planning to attend the Cathe Road Trip this summer? As for morning workouts, I am a morning glory girl all the way. I am a morning person by nature, and that is when I am at my personal best physically and mentally. I am stronger and my overall stamina is greater early in the morning. I can lift heavier and and generally work much harder. Doing an intense Cathe cardio or circuit training workout in the morning is the best antidepressant and appetite suppressant I know. I feel good all over, my energy is consistently high all day, my mind is clear, and I am more focused. I have a theory that morning workouts provide a metabolic boost, but I do not have any scientific evidence to support this. I do my morning workouts before I eat a bite. There are different opinions about this practice. In my experience, it is a good thing. When I was doing evening workouts in February, I was tired and sluggish all day. I had to discipline myself to exercise after work. I did not enjoy most of my workouts at all. My body got a good workout, but there was no fun factor for me. I have a very stressful job, and I had a hard time focusing on choreography after a long day at work. At times, I caught myself going through the motions and not getting a good workout because I was so tired. I could not lift heavy either. There were nights when I was so tired that I was struggling with 8-pound weights. I also battled constant cravings for food. I wanted to eat, eat, eat all the time. I ate only what I planned to eat (other than a few small stumbles) through sheer determination, but clean eating was a constant battle for me. I thought about food all the time and knew that I would start backsliding soon if I continued with that schedule. Intense cardio or circuit training early in the day bridles my desire to eat more than my body needs for fuel. Morning exercise also makes me feel good all day and relieves the desire to seek those good feelings in food. I definitely shed the weight faster in the morning, but the mental benefits are by far the greatest.

Sandra, thank you for the encouragement. I am hoping to do that Daniel study someday.

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Thank You!!!

Hi Heather! I did!

I still can't believe I actually got up an hour earlier and worked out. My legs did not want to cooperate at first, but they warmed up pretty quick.

I feel great today. Thanks for the inspiration!

Melissa

Hi! Sorry to barge in, but I have several close friends who just finished that study and loved it. Hard to go wrong with Beth Moore :) I do Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) myself, and this year is Romans. I hope to try a Beth Moore study soon :)

Subconsciously I somehow clicked on "post" before I typed up my results for February :D

I went on a vacation to Disney World this month and that pretty much ruined the momentum I had going from January. Sniff. However, I'm back on track and have lost two of the five pounds I gained. I really love how the calendar not only motivates me, but helps me keep things in perspective, too. Looking forward to March!
