cathe and Firm tapes

Hi everyone. I just received my first Cathe DVD Tuesday (S&H). I plan on using it for at least 3 weeks. After that I will then decide what other DVD to buy. In the meantime, what Firm tapes are similar to Cathe's tapes, specifically Power Hour and MIS? I just want to know so that I can make substitutions for some of Cathe's tapes in some of the rotations that I see (at least until I have enough money to buy some other Cathe DVDs). Oh yeah, DVDs are way better than videos. I didn't know it was going to be this simple. From now on it will be DVDs for me. I bought one of those 5 disc DVD players. It is great.

Hey Alicia...

I am busy blabbing away in the "ask Cathe" forum about diets, but when I read that you have not been doing Cathe, I thought that it won't even take much effort on your part to get closer to where you want to be!!! While the Firms are challenging, to me they are nothing in comparison to Cathe. I leaned out quite a bit when I found Cathe.

As far as the tapes, Tough Tape 2 is very similar. I still do that one. Or you can combine Standing Legs and Upper Body on the same day, or alternate. Those are similar as well. Maximum Body Shaping too. Power Hour is like your Firms in many ways, being that it is a muscular endurance workout. I would substitute any Firm on that day. But I find that TT2 is slow paced enough that I can really lift heavy.

Hope this helps!! And thanks for thanking me for my post!! It made me feel special for today!!!:)

How does IMax compare to Intense Moves? I just bought a bunch of Cathe tapes and I feel like I missed some tapes I'll really need. I bought PS, MIS, MIC and Step Heat. I already have CTX Kickbox and CTX AllStep. But I keep seeing rotations with Ciruit max and IMax so I'm afraid that I'm missing something. What do you think? BTW, I already have a bunch of Firms including FS & FC and TT2. I'm having some shin problems and can't do a lot of impact but impact on the step causes me a lot less problems than impact on the floor.

tough tape vs. tough tape 2

I have firm Tough Tape and substitute it for PH or MIS periodically. How does it compare to tough tape 2?

I know tough tape has no abs, so I add in abs from firm 5 days abs video or do Cathe abs section.

RE: tough tape vs. tough tape 2

I find tough tape harder than tough tape 2. There is more barbell work in it and way more leg presses. I actually like it better for lower body than TT2.

Until I get the rest of Cathe Tapes I will use TT ot TT2 in place of MIS. Yeah, most seem to be endurance. Thanks for replying.

I guess IMAX is intervalmax. Am I correct? I never thought of getting that one for now. Anything to also help with the fat loss.

I find tough tape to be a very tough leg tape.

I like the way it gets at my hamsdtrings and glutes. I am always more sore after tough tape than MIS or PH. Maybe I need to increase my weights for PH or MIS. I only have dumbbells and not a bar bell. Does anyone think my results would change with a barbell?

Firm Style workout

Hi Alicia! If you want a great intense workout--go for Circuit Max!It's style is blasts of cardio then moves on to cycles using compound moves with weights(my favorite) Ex doing lunges with lateral raise, squats with military presses etc--It reminds me of the Firm classics having everything working together! But way tougher! You'll be dripping--and you should start with LIGHT weights--to help stay focused an have proper form--your heart rate will be still be up---you don't need to go heavy here! (but if you want to of course go for it)Great cardio and weight workout equals an ultimate fatburning video all in one!Put some money aside for this bad boy! And oh yeah lots of energy too----hehe--- Your friend in fitness~~Francine

RE: Firm Style workout

Francine,

Oh boy, there are so many on my list to get. I did like the description in the catalog. I first want all the strength tapes (the ones for strength first then the endurance ones), then the cardio tapes that are not all step from beginning to end, and last I will get the ones that are completely step. I have to find a way to save money for this.

Alicia..

You probably already know this, but IMAX would be a good substitute for the interval work your friend Marina is telling you to do. For what you are interested in, that tape will be well worth the money..

Yeah, I thought of that. I am getting it as soon as I can afford the DVD. I see that the DVD also comes with Rythmic Step and MIC. How are these other two cardio tapes?

Alicia

Amazingly, THAT I cannot tell you. Actually, I had IMAX on VHS and just recently acquired the DVD, so I have not yet done RS, but don't much care for MIC. Seems really dated to me. VERY high impact, my joints have a hard time...especially if I am doing Cathe tapes the other 5-6 days. MIC is the only Cathe tape that feels so "gym style" to me. Not too fun, but of course, worth having!!
