BUTTS AND GUTS VS GYM STYLE LEGS

Amy Steppe

Cathlete
I have the Butts and Guts DVD.

I also have all the leg workouts from Cathe's previous collections, i.e., Leaner Legs, Legs and Glutes, PS Legs, S&H Legs.

For those of you who have a lot of Cathe's workouts, what are your thoughts on Gym Style Legs versus what I already own?

Is there anything that makes Gym Style Legs stand out from the other lower body workouts that might make it a good purchase choice?

I am on a very limited budget and trying to hold off on buying anything new until Cathe announces a presale or sale of her next series.

By the way, my upper body Gym Styles arrived today.

OMG! The Chest and Triceps is killer!

I did it after I did Supersets and I am fried!

Cheers!

I love them both but my fave is GS...just did it today actually. Yes it fried me! I do wish it had firewalkers on it, but I just add them in when I feel like it.
Also, there are 2 pre-mixes I believe, which is very helpful if you want to ease into it a little bit, or have limited time. I have decided to do an all GS rotation for the next two months, & I really anticipate good results.
Whatever you get, have fun!

Gym Style Legs really hits the entire leg, from the glute on down to the calf, and even the anterior tibialis (front of lower leg). It's very comprehensive, and for me, well worth the purchase.

I've done the leg blast premix of B & G and find it gets right in the butt, quad and some inner thigh. However, not so much in the hamstring and calf. B & G is great in building endurance for squats and lunges.

Edited to add: I see my answer above is not much different from the one on the other thread. LOL Good luck! ;)

Another nod for GS Legs here! While I like B&G and GS Legs both, it's for different reasons. B&G is just that! Butts! and Guts! I feel like my bun cheeks are little rocks after that workout! There's something about B&G that just gets me going! I love the walking lunges, the firewalkers, and the one-legged squat-lunge thingies. And the music ROCKS! However, GS Legs is more comprehensive to the entire leg, as someone else mentioned. I especially like that it hits the calf muscles, whereas B&G doesn't. GS Legs reminds me of L&G, however, L&G gets my heart rate up too high for some reason, whereas GS Legs keeps it just right. It's as if GS Legs is more controlled for a truly strength-based workout, whereas L&G gets a little cardio going, which I don't like when I'm strength training. I'd recommend having both GS Legs and B&G and rotating them into your workout by doing each once per week.

Hi everybody!

Thank you for your suggestions and input.

I did decide to purchase Gym Style Legs, although I had to buy a used copy at Amazon ($18) instead of a brand new copy.

Two of my dogs have their annual physicals this month, so that is an expense (although I have pet insurance that partially reimburses me, I have to pay up front and wait for reimbusement).

And I am also holding back because I am waiting for Cathe's big announcement about her new series.

I feel like a traitor not buying directly from this website. I have always purchased directly from S&M and will do so when Cathe begins to sell her new series.

I want another tee and Cathe hat too.!

Cheers!

Amy
