Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle

The thing I like about this book more than any other (including BFL) is the depth and specificity. He talks about EVERYTHING. In fact, its almost more like a textbook - I've been reading it for about an hour everyday for a week and a half and am still reading it. And am planning to reread it as soon as I'm done! I feel like I now have the tools for meal planning (and by the way, you are NOT hungry on this plan! I've never liked eating big breakfasts (still makes me a bit uncomfortable) but it makes such a huge difference for the rest of the day. I am just not experiencing the hunger at night that I used to. For me it cleared up some misconceptions too about clean eating and working out (LOTS of advice about how to break plateaus!). So, you expect to reach that point sometime and you have several strategies you can try to break through it. Just tons of specific advice - I am looking forward to seeing what the results will be! I tested my bodyfat % the other day (its average - boo hoo!) and weighed yesterday, so I'm ready to start!

>I just bought the book too. Haven't been able to print it
>yet because I need to get some paper.

I just checked it out. It's 337 pages! You'll have to get a lot of paper. I'd like to purchase the book and print it out as well. Office Max, here I come!

I agree with you about the book being more like a textbook. Very informative and helpful, with all the examples of how to figure calories, etc. I really like it. Not quite done reading it yet, either. Seems like I sometimes read a chapter twice to really get the concepts, then I do some figuring and calculating. I have notes stuck in the book and lots of colorful little tabs marking the "important" pages that I will need to refer back to. And probably the thing I like most is the honesty. You will not lose 8 pounds in 8 days!! But, if you are consistent and work hard, you will lose body fat and increase your lean muscle mass. Great book, highly recommend it!!:7

Where are you printing these books out? Over 300 pages just seems huge to print out on a home printer and I think my office would be a little mad if I printed something that large. Can you just read it off your screen?

I did finally order the book the other day. I have only started reading bits and pieces of it, and the information seems like its a plan you could do for life - not just a short term fix. You can just download it and read it off your screen if you wish. Or you can print it front and back, like I did, and use half the amount of paper. I think it was worth the $39, and I am looking forward to learning some new techniques that might finally take that last couple of vanity pounds off.

What a concept! $39 and no production costs, minimal distribution costs. You have to provide your own paper and ink.

This might be the best book in the world but I'll pass until I see it in print. This is almost as bad as the software companies that charge you the full price for software you download versus the shrinkwrapped version that they have shipping costs on.

Yes, yes, a little dorky....BUT, I will gladly pay more if it cuts through all of the crap that is out there and offers sound eating and exercising advice that is not faddish. And that's what it looks like it does. And, if you're not satisfied, you can get your money back. Pam

Another good book is Scrwany to Brawny. The nutrition advice is very good and the training is also spot on. This book is about building muscle but can be adapted to suit any training needs.

I've looked into this book also. You guys are making me want to buy it but I do think $39 is a lot to spend without being able to preview it. I DO wish he would get this thing published. Oh well...sigh.
